This is one of the few places in the area with a pool.

Kwa Maritane have an underground tunnel to the waterhole, 24h access ! TV gives you a live feed. The Chalet units are built both sides of the Restaurant, all along the fence, 8 - 12 m from your veranda. Serviced daily, but you need your own filter coffee. Spa & small gym on site. Unit modules are Fr - Su night, and Mo - Th night, and are for specific units. If booking across modules, please check 1st that the unit numbers are the same ! Also look at my other area units for suitable dates.

The space
This unit has 2 bedrooms, and awesome loft and the either 2 sleeper divans, or a double sleeper couch.
Awesome Restaurant, terrace looks into the Park, and from there you can sometimes see elephants approaching the waterhole when they are 1 km away.
Spa
Small gym, open from 7h00 - 17h00
2 pools, 3 if you count the kiddies one. Lifeguard only in SA holiday season though.
Activities offered by the Lodge in midweek Mo - Th, i.e. a stargazing night
Wednesday afternoon Game drive Plus supper in the Boma in the Park (no fences) at a special 2019 rate of R650pp to occupants of these timeshare units only...normally drives are R550pp and midweek buffet supper R360pp

Covid update end July: The timeshare section of the Lodges did open a month ago, then 10 days later the Government closed them down again. So though the Park is open, all the accommodation around the Park is not. As it can open any time, I am leaving my listings as available. Please just check with me before booking, thanks.

Other things to note
There is also a small business centre that guests can use that has 2 desktops.
You do get limited wifi on check in...more is available at R75 per 500Mb and R150 for a Gig
Note that wifi is pretty slow, but you will be able to do your mail.
Lastly note that the portable wifi hotspots that work everywhere in the world, probably won't work at Kwa.

Where you’ll be

Pilanesberg National Park, North West, South Africa

Pilanesberg of course is the special place !
Then there is Sun City Resort 6km away; entrance applies at the bottom gate, and also for the Valley of the Waves
There are like a 100 food places there.
Croc farm just inside Sun City's entrance.
Predator Park 4km from Kwa, interesting and fairly price but not my kind of thing.
Decent shopping Centre just outside Sun City with a good Spar Supermarket. As unemployment in the area is about 80%, do not leave anything in the car.

Jan 2026 - I'm now an ex Tour Operator that just loves Pilanesberg. I moved to the area by choice in 2006. During 2003 - 2025 I've clocked 15 000+ hours in the Park, and have had the most amazing sightings! Along the way I have kept investing in timeshare units around the Park, so this is mainly what is on offer. I stopped guiding in 2025, as my Pilanesberg Chalets keep me busy full time. Currently I'm there about 1/3 of every year, I travel the balance. Ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch
