The "100-year old Kyomachi house that you'll fall in love with at first sight" is a spacious inn where you can slowly enjoy the old capital's townhouse. We added our own touch to some of the walls by doing it ourselves, and we carefully selected and decorated the interior ourselves. Antique stained glass, Noguchi Yu's Japanese paper lighting, Simmons beds, Muji bed linens, and more, are all designed to make guests feel at home. There are two toilets, one indoors and one outdoors. The outdoor toilet faces the garden, so you can feel the scenery of old Kyoto. A charming, 100-year-old Kyomachi house - "Kyomachi U" has enough space for guests to slowly enjoy the ancient capital's townhouse. Part of the walls are DIY and the interior decoration is carefully selected. Antique stained glass, Noguchi Utago's Japanese paper lamps, Simmons mattresses, Muji bedding, etc., all make guests feel at home. There are two bathrooms, one indoor and one outdoor, and the outdoor bathroom faces the garden, where you can feel the taste of ancient Kyoto.

Built in the early Showa era and long used as a tea ceremony classroom, the townhouse has been reborn as a private rental inn, "Kyomachiya Cottage karigane". It is a 1-minute walk to the hot springs and Daikokuji Temple, which has deep ties to tea. Shino, with its unique cafes, coffee roasters, delicious Japanese confectionery stores, bakeries, and soba shops. Please use the carefully restored Kyomachiya as your base for sightseeing in northern Kyoto, where time flows slowly, with a focus on natural materials and traditional craftsmanship by Miyadai Koge and Saigo craftsmen.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
