Sæból is a historic farm in one of the most remote parts of Iceland. Visitors will find a truly authentic experience of life in the Westfjords, past and present. In Sæból lives a friendly sheep farmer known as Bettý (my mother) and she is the last remaining resident of Ingjaldssandur. She also makes beautiful handcrafts that she sells at her house.

Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

Grásteinn is one of three cabins that we own. Nónsteinn, Grásteinn and Grýlusteinn. Our cabins are a perfect getaway place to enjoy the nature at it fullest while relaxing with a breathtaking view. The the area is perfect for outdoor hiking or other activities with a Recreational Map available of the area. The summer house is part of Korpudalur HI Hostel located ~30m from the house. The house has two private twin rooms, and a four beds on the upper floor. One bathroom with a shower and kitchen facilities. Perfect for 1-2 families or a small group of friends.

Hella is a place that is nice to stay at. The apartment is 120 sqm wich includes three bedrooms, in two of the rooms are beds (160x200cm) and you can see Hellissandur and the beautiful Atlantic ocean out the windows. One of the bedroom has a bunk bed. One bathroom, very spacious living room with panorama view of the glacier Snæfellsjökull and a large equipped kitchen. Things that you can do while you stay here is take a walk to Ingjaldshólskirkja and many other fun thing.

The chalet is very new and very pleasant to stay in. Equipped with all the comforts to live there for several days, it is also very central for shopping. This is the perfect place to watch the Northern Lights.

Stóra-Vatnshorn is a family owned working farm with sheep, horses, dog and a cat and rental of cottages and our "Old farmhouse". Rural, quiet and beautiful surroundings. The Old farmhouse, built in 1936 is 150m2 with5 bedrooms (all different in size an shape) and sleeps easily 6 people. Fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining area. WC, shower and heating. Washer & dryer for clothes. TV & free Wifi .
