Woodland Cabin - Margot Bed & Breakfast

Our cozy cabin comprises of 3 small separate buildings set in private woodland next to a 200 year old poplar tree & a gentle rocky stream clattering in the background. The cabin is essentially off-grid meaning the water comes from the stream originating the “chalambelle” on the Ardeche plateau. There is electricity, hot water, shower, a compost toilet and a wood-burner. It is suitable for 2 people. Breakfast is included and brought to you in the morning. Dinner can also be arranged onsite.

Surrounded by the green hills and mountains of the South Ardeche, you will find this little paradise. In this cozy gite, you can enjoy the tranquility, the beautiful nature and the enchanting views. The three arched windows have recently been replaced by new, large windows. It now feels like you are sitting inside the view. In the morning you will be awakened by the bells of the sheep and the cheerful swallows. There is no rush here. 10 minutes by car from the thermal baths in Vals les Bains.

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. A large kitchen and large living room will allow you to spend time together. The house is located in the middle of nature, fields and chestnut forests. Several walking trails start from the property, two streams run through it, one wide enough for bathing and swimming.
