The king bedroom is on the ground floor with views of Thurso Bay and Dunnet Head. Within the room are fitted wardrobes, charging points and tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. A continental breakfast is served in the room. Our home is situated above Scrabster harbour, it is a 15-20 minute walk to catch the Orkney ferry. Alternatively it is a great place to stay if you're working in the area or exploring Caithness. If you're passing through on the NC500 this is ideal as a stopping point

We have big skies here, stunning sea views across the Pentland Firth to Orkney (and Isle of Hoy) and along the north coast to Dunnet Head. If you enjoy stargazing you’ll love it here on clear nights as there is no light pollution - and if you’re staying in winter you may be lucky enough to see the northern lights.

Now an ideal escape which is pleasantly situated with most rooms having views looking out over the sea towards the Pentland Firth or across the hills of Hoy. From the lighthouse gentle strolls take you to the Hills of White Hamar wildlife reserve just next door, to a nearby sandy beach, or to the shops and general store in Longhope. The lighthouse was designed by the renowned engineers Thomas and David Stevenson.
