You are closer to the ultimate Alaskan vacation than any roadside destinations. From here, find your own epic fishing hole (along the shore or out deep - for salmon, halibut, rock fish, cod and more. Kayak cove to cove, walk the beaches, hike trails and bike the mountains. In town, you'll find a few local shops to get groceries, a handful of restaurants, an abundance of artists and native crafts, a few tour/fishing guide outfits and others that offer kayaking. Seldovia is a gem among small Alaskan fishing towns. While off the beaten path, it is less than an hour via ferry from Homer, and even quicker by plane. You can walk from one end to the other in about 30 minutes or rent a golf cart or bike and and realize it is a story-book setting that has something special to offer travelers.
