Reikaku Yasaka | Gion | Historical Machiya

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. It is a government approved accommodation so it is safe and reliable. When renovating the house, we tried our best to keep or reproduce traditional structures such as the pillars, walls, and dirt floor, while replacing the bathroom with new modern facilities. *Lodge tax will increase from 200p.p. to 400p.p. from 2026.3.1

We kept the original structure and make it much more modern and comfortable. The river in front of the house is the must-see in Kyoto changing from cherry bloom to maples. The best location near Gojo bridge and Kiyomizuーgojo sta. can make it very convenient to all the famous spots.
