Relax in the tranquility of nature on the shores of the clear-watered Kuontijärvi, close to Ruka's services. The cottage (40 sqm/two rooms + loft) is well equipped. The atmosphere is created by an open fireplace in the living room. Several great activities right from the front door: in winter, the Kuontivaara ski loop passes by, and in summer, the mountain biking route (Kouvervaara loop). The nearest grocery store is about 10 minutes by car (Ruka). The cottage is part of a housing association, with one semi-detached cottage and one cottage consisting of three apartments in the same yard.

Rukan Ski-Bus runs from the proximity/side of the cottage during the ski season. Attention! Seasonal Christmas, New Year, and Weeks 8-15 rental only Saturday-Saturday. During the summer an attic room with a double bed is also in use. Use of a rowing boat, an Indian canoe and 2 stand-up paddleboards & use of the grillhut & firewood are included in the rent. You can also rent 1 single kayak separately, rental price 20€/day. Sandy-bottomed shallow beach facing south, providing a great swimming spot. Pets are also welcome!

Well-equipped Villa Joutsensalmi creates a great setting for an active holiday in all seasons in the unique nature of Kuusamo. In summer and autumn, hiking and mountain bike trails can be accessed from the nearby terrain. In winter and spring, the well-maintained ski trails and snowmobile trails around Ruka can be accessed from the cottage yard.

The cottage is located in the heart of nature in a quiet area, yet close to all the services of Ruka's center. The ski slopes and SkiBus run very close by, and the store is just over a kilometer away. The cottage has a compact open common area with a kitchen, dining area and living area. An open fireplace creates an atmosphere in this space.

Apart from downhill skiing and cross country skiing (the FIS Nordic Combined season kicks off in Ruka) there are numerous hiking trails, including the famous Karhunkierros (Bear's Round), snowmobile routes, biking routes, fishing, bird watching, bear watching and also ample time to enjoy a sauna and peaceful silence.
