However, each room is only has a sliding door, so each room cannot be used as a private room. Because the house is built on a 300-tsubo site, it is away from the neighbors, so you can stay without worrying about them. During the summer, you can also enjoy barbecues and fireworks in the front yard. If you are interested in the stars, we will also show you the starry sky with the optical equipment we have on clear nights. During the day, you can also use drones to take a walk in the sky over the surrounding mountains from the backyard. This is a quiet and natural environment that you will never experience in the city, and it is an area that still retains the old traditional culture unique to the southern region, which is common to Tono in Iwate Prefecture. We have inherited this house and have been protecting it by gradually restoring the neglected garden over the past 10 years. There is no TV in Shirakamado. Instead, I enjoy making tea, looking out at the garden, reading books, and talking with family and friends. More than 80 types of plants and trees grow in the garden, and the camellias once cultivated by a tea ceremony master are once again in bloom.On the natural stone terrace, you can enjoy reading or a cup of tea without worrying about people watching. The tea room still retains the meticulous work of Kyoto craftsmen, and quiet, peaceful time flows within. During your stay, please enjoy the experience of choosing your favourite from a selection of authentic teacups and brewing your own matcha.We provide a tea whisk and matcha. Appi Kogen Ski Resort can be reached in 20-30 minutes in summer and 30-40 minutes in winter (the distance is about 18 km). Dragon Eye can be accessed in about 30 minutes from the parking area at Migaeri Pass. Regarding vehicles, as this is a snowy area, we recommend that you come in a 4WD vehicle when using the accommodation in winter for skiing, snowboarding, etc. For two-wheel drive and FF vehicles, depending on the model, it may be advisable to bring chains, so please contact us in advance if you have any concerns.
