At barely 5 kilometers from the historical center of Ghent we find, a bit hidden in the back of the garden, this former woodworking workshop. The small building with old industrial attitudes was lovingly transformed into a simple and warm stay for 2 to 4 people. Whether you come alone, as a couple or with your whole family; everyone will immediately feel at home and relaxed. In the summer, take your aperitif under the apple tree, in the winter you can cocoon in an attractive interior.
“We stayed in Dorothée's house for a month with our little daughter (20 months) for a short work/holiday retreat. We had a perfect time and felt really well looked after by Dorothee and her family. They were very easy and quick in communication, cooperative and friendly. If we had any questions or remarks, they always immediately replied and solved any problem we might encounter. We enjoyed staying in their little outhouse in the garden very much. The house is built into an old garage and is very well looked after, with a large kitchen that has all the appliances you need for a longer stay, comfortable mattresses, a warm bathroom and a cosy living area . You can really see that the this house is special for Dorothee and her family, as it is lovingly decorated with attention to detail. It was a magical experience for our daughter too, with plenty of things for her to play with, inside (e.g., rocking horse) and around the house (e.g., the chickens!). Within a few minutes walking there's a good bakery, butcher and supermarket. There's also a few nice pubs around as well as some very nice restaurants and an excellent fish shop. We often went with bus, train or tram to Gent, which only takes about 10 minutes. All in all, it is perfectly situated. We fell in love with Gent and with Dorothee's wonderful house and gladly recommend staying here! Thanks again!”
We like to welcome guests in our guest room on the top floor. We sleep downstairs, so there's definitely enough space. We're not always home, but you can call us anytime. Wichelen is well located. The known cities of Flanders, like Bruges, Ghent, Brussels... are easy to reach by car or by train (SNCB).
“The reception was good and correct, Yentl is a very nice girl and spoke to us in Spanish. Clean impeccable, everything was in order and very careful. He has two very handsome kittens especially the little one who is very affectionate and lets himself be touched. The house has a garden. The room is perfect, the bed very comfortable, it sleeps very well, not a single noise since we had an area of the house just for us with bathroom included and a small living room with sofa, table, chairs, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Cutlery, plates, ironing board cups, iron etc. We do not know if on another occasion we could have shared that space with other people since there was another door next to our room, we do not know if it was another room or what it was. The bathroom has a good shower and is equipped with everything even has a clothesline. For parking we had it easy since in front of the house there is a piece of meadow available. We really liked the stay and I recommend that at least one day you enjoy the breakfast you prepare for € 7.50 p / p this breakfast is optional but worth it because it is abundant and everything is very rich. In short, we have been very comfortable at home, we leave very happy.”

“We had a great stay. The studio was right by the tram stop and an easy 15 minute walk from city center. Marleen and her son, Robin were so sweet, helpful and accommodating. There was a grocery store just a few blocks away and the studio included coffee, a coffee maker and creamer. Everything we needed was supplied in the kitchen. Towels were also provided. ”
