Cabin holiday rentals in Lake Henshaw

My wife and I were celebrating our 15 year anniversary and wanted a nice quiet place to just hang out and take a break from all the craziness. This place fit perfectly. Very private, you feel on your own in the woods when in fact you are very near anything you would need. Beautiful area, watching the birds eat from the bird feeder was nice and we saw a few groups of turkeys walking around. Sitting by the propane fireplace with a nice book or soaking in the spa made for a very relaxing time. We would definitely come back. This was my 1st time doing an Airbnb so I have noting to compare but the host was completely on top of things making this as easy and smooth as possible. My wife and I had an amazing time and would definitely come back.

This place is absolutely DREAMY. The setting can not be beat and its so peaceful. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed and more. Everything was clean and comfortable. Jason was very responsive, kind and helpful. We enjoyed the the deck with family for Easter brunch, relaxing in the hammock swings, evening fires, walks to the pond, games and movies. Hoping to stay again soon!

We had a great time this week for our vacation! Beautiful place and was so peaceful! We loved how it was tucked away at the end of the street. We loved the hot tub and the views/sounds of nature. We will be back!

Easily one of my favorite airbnb stays ever. I needed a wellness break between events in the desert, and this certainly delivered. A quick 1 hr and 15 minutes drive from La Quinta, the house was fairly easy to find. The home is beautiful, very well stocked, very quiet and the views are stunning from all windows and areas on property. Nature seems to come directly to you, and there were so many bird species to watch. Enjoying the sunset in the hot tub my last night was a *chefs kiss*. I hope to return again someday, and left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Anna was very responsive. There was an issue with the fire alarm when I arrived and she made sure it was fixed promptly. The place was clean and in walking distance to the little town center.

We rented the cabin after we had to cancel a camping trip and it was a wonderful and relaxing experience. It is nicely updated with plenty of space for 2. Lots of windows with pleasant views. So many places to hang out and explore. We climbed the mountain you can see from the deck (Stonewall Peak) and it was a great 4 mile hike from the Paso Picacho campground. The hot tub was very relaxing after hiking. It is an easy drive to Julian or Wynola to eat, just watch out for the deer and turkeys along the way. We also saw turkeys on the property. There are literally hiking trails everywhere in the area so we hope to return in the future.

The cabin is exactly as described if not better. It’s quiet and very close to town maybe a 5-10 min walk. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and we were able to fully enjoy home cooked meals. The linens were well stocked, jacuzzi and bathroom clean. The host was extremely responsive and the cabin itself was so nice. I enjoyed cups of coffee on the patio in the morning and saw the beautiful sunrise. A perfect little getaway celebrating my anniversary with my loved one. The cabin is one that should be respected and enjoyed. Thank you for having us, we’d love to come back!

Such a cozy and quaint cabin to disconnect for a bit. We took full advantage of the Poll table and spa, and my toddler especially loved the massive Jenga set. 5 min to Julian was a huge plus. Stayed during the big Jian Earthquake of 2025 and Matt was quick to check in on us. Great clean place, and amazingly responsive host. Highly reccomend.

She had everything just perfect. She had an extra fire log. The kitchen was well stocked. She had extra coffee and tea. She had warm socks, hats, gloves, extra toothpaste, face wash, and it was just a beautiful and lovely place. I would definitely go again.

My friends and I spent the weekend in Julian here, and it was perfect! We loved the game room and the home had a lot of character.

We had a wonderful stay at Peaceful Pines! The cozy cabin was perfect for us and our two dogs. The backyard is a huge blessing and allowed us to have some time together without our pups. Jay is a kind person and welcomed us when we arrived. We are hoping to make this an annual trip! Thank you Jay 🐾

This was my second stay in the Malbec home, and it was just a wonderful as my first stay! We enjoyed a rainstorm on Saturday evening, which sounded so lovely hitting the rooftop and dripping off the surrounding trees. Hot showers were incredible and leaving the windows open for a cool breeze was perfect. We visited the Safari Park during our staycation, which is only a short 20min drive from this Airbnb. I look forward to my next stay. :)

My family and myself went to celebrate my birthday at Amy's place, we were received by beautiful scenary from snowy mountains, trees, roads, it was beautiful. Place have everything you need to have nice rest, spacious, clean, blankets, towels, full stocked kitchen, tv...etc, the lovely backyard and ambience lights at night was the cherry on top. We went for a walk and into town, this is our 4th year visiting Idywild and it never dissapoints, locals are friendly and welcoming. We had a great stay...I would love to come back next year

What a beautiful property and surroundings. Headed up for a quiet weekend and to enjoy the surrounding Fallbrook area. The cottage was exactly as described and is the perfect size for a couple's romantic weekend. The jacuzzi was heated and ready to go and the kitchen came with a starter kit of coffee and basic cooking staples. Had a bit of a snafu with the coded key lock one evening but that was because we entered the code incorrectly the first time. Dawn was very responsive and remotely opened the lock to set us in. We had a bit of a lack of communication regarding a cheese and butter making class we had booked, but we will make sure to get that completed on our next trip! Overall this is an amazing property and experience. We will be back!

Nice and peaceful place. It has everything we need. We cooked good meals, stayed warm, took warm shower. We really enjoyed fire place. Sandrine is very responsive. Thank you for hosting this nice cabin. I recommend this place.

Extremely serene spot, great location for either north or south park adventures, perfectly close to town. Well-thought out amenities that worked perfectly with our way of life. Dropping in the space felt very natural. Climate control was easy, the building has been insulated really well, the windows and blinds are super nice. Whichever temperature you choose, the room will stay there! House orientation is perfect for sunrise on the porch and sunset on the back patio. Open everything and the breeze passes through, so nice! On first blush kitchen seemed small but once we started cooking it was actually super well appointed and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves the entire stay. Surprise stash of pantry staples on hand made it feel very homey Waffle maker is clutch! Broiler is very effective! Tons of great board games! The huge Anza-Borrego themed book collection covered literally every question we had for park excursions. DM replies from host were super friendly & fast

The Cowboy Cabin is the perfect place to really unwind and enjoy a relaxing stay while in Julian. If the weather is good like it was for us this weekend, it is just so relaxing to sit on the deck and listen to the birds. We have stayed at the cabin on multiple occasions, and it's our favorite place to stay in Julian. Christina definitely meets all the requirements of a super host. Super responsive and friendly in all her communications.

Cabin #9 felt like a retreat . . . surrounded by woodland with views of the valley, fresh flowers greeting me in the kitchen, Keurig coffeemaker & coffee provided, wood for the wood stove, instant hot water and large shower with great water pressure, WiFi & TV with streaming access, close to Santa Ysabel, Julian (the Julian Pie Company😋) and the wildflowers of Anza-Borrego. The onsite host responded immediately and was so gracious in welcoming me when I had a question. Upon leaving I appreciated the reminder of check-out instructions which were minimal. A real gem that I’ll be back for.

This is a special place. A perfect escape where to slow down immersed in nature. We’ll for sure come back!

Victoria's place is a real gem. It feels like a magical enchanted cottage. The location 2/3 of the way up Palomar mountain is majestic, and the views are to die for. One thing to know is that it can get cold up there in the mountain, even in late April, but it feels very cozy in the cottage because of the wood-burning stove, the blankets, and the board games. My friends and I liked it so much we're already planning when to come back.

we experienced a couple of hiccups that were outside of the hosts control & heather was able to accommodate for them & turn our experience around. the cabin itself was clean, spacious, & exactly as portrayed. idyllwild is a magical place!

The place was perfect...quiet, private, and well-located. The backyard has a nice path along a stream that flows in the winter. We could walk to the park and into town, though there’s a steep hill to reach the children’s park. The layout is unique, with 1 private master bedroom and 3 loft-style bedrooms. While the lofts are open, the house still offers enough separation for quiet when needed. Overall, a great stay, and we’d definitely come back.
