“This home is exactly how it appears on the site, with its adirondack decor and comfortable furnishings. We were really drawn to the photos, and we were so pleased upon arrival. It’s charming with great windows to enjoy the views surrounding the home. We found the spacious garage to be a great bonus for storing our ski equipment and keeping our car cozy(there was a winter storm during our visit). All the necessities were there; paper goods, condiments, toiletries, and cozy bedding. This made our arrival so easy because we had no need to run to the store right away! Our communication with the owner, John, was so efficient and timely. He checked in through the process of arrival and departure. He was quick to respond to any questions we had, and offered suggestions for local eateries. We look forward to future visits!”
Nathan's abode, a bright and airy cottage that can sleeps up to four people. 750 sq ft with full Kitchen, full bath with stand up shower — flat screen tv with free WIFI and two car parking.
“This isTHE cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. And that includes international and local hotels, other Airbnb, and even concierge destinations. (Who cleans this place?). It is simply spotless with no traces of smell of cleaning products. The cottage is super cozy with thoughtful little details all around. Super close to Main St (less than five minutes drive and seven minutes away from the huge supermarket) and a convenient corner store within walking distance( about two short blocks). The back patio is great. My nine year old son had some great adventures there by the stream, Indiana Jones style, we made s’mores on the fire pit, and of course, kicking the soccer ball. And he loved his bedroom, which has a PlayStation. The beds are comfy. I usually brings my own pillows but forgot them this time, and the pillows were fine. The backyard view from the house is really calming. We stayed during the craziness of the Coronavirus and we really didn’t want to come back. Birsen had little “gifts” in each room including hand sanitizer!!! I brought my own Lysol and had no need to use it. Birsen kept us informed of any changes in town, which was helpful and she responds promptly. The kitchen is well equip with everything you need to make a meal, except a blender (I only mention this because my husband is a “shake maker”) and we still were fine. A really calmed and great place to stay. Thank you Birsen!!!”
The Gallery Apartment is on the edge of the village of Lake Placid (above a small art/photo gallery), and fairly close to everything Lake Placid has to offer. It is a 10 minute walk away from the busy heart of the village. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It is a simple, affordable, clean, and comfortable apartment. Be aware: There is a somewhat steep flight of stairs leading up to the apartment (see photo), and the bathroom is quite small (see photo).
“Absolutely amazing space, location, and host. Margarete was very quick to respond and ensured we knew exactly how to get into the apartment and how to reach out to her. Upon our arrival, there was a lot of snow in the town and when we drove up to the apartment, the entire driveway was shoveled and Margarete even shoveled a path leading to the stairs and salted the ice on the stairway. The interior is absolutely beautiful and was so incredibly clean. There is a liquor store, market, plenty of awesome restaurants, and Lake Placid itself all just a stones throw away. Totally would stay here again.”
