loved this little hotel plus the staff and food were lovely!

We really enjoyed our stay in Martin’s beautiful historic home! He provided delicious breakfasts and dinner for us, and we really enjoyed our tour of Unst with him. Martin gave us very helpful suggestions and shared a map of the island so that we could tour about and hike on our own as well. He is very knowledgeable about Shetland and Scotland. I highly recommend a visit to this wild and beautiful island and staying at Belmont House. It’s an experience we will never forget!

Had an amazing stay at Belmond House. The place was stunning, better than the actual pictures and Martin was by far one of the best hosts we ever had. Will recommend this place and would gladly come back. A unique experience, made special by a warm, friendly and great host.

Nice to see the hotel back open with a friendly welcome and nothing to much trouble. Was made to feel at home, restaurant and bar were open and although an issue with the fryer it did not stop very tasteful meals which were well presented and reasonably priced. Continental breakfast was available with a good selection and cooked breakfast on request. Thought had been put into the accommodation, the hotel had recently been decorated, bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean with refreshments available.

The house is charming and exceeded our expectations. The Art on the walls and individual well considered decor made it homely and interesting and very comfortable. House is warm and such a beautiful view , watching the ladies who swim in the sea each morning at 6.00 am in all weathers was an inspiration. Hope to return. Highly recommend everything about this property and the local advice and detail in making us feel welcome. Appartement très bien isolé et équipé situé au 2ème étage dans Lerwick sur un des axes principaux. Tout est accessible à pied en moins d'un kilomètre : le ferry, le supermarché, la rue commerçante, le centre ville... Pas de difficultés de stationnement si vous venez en voiture. Le rez de chaussée est occupé par un magasin d'ameublement et de fournitures pour la maisons. Appartement bien isolé. Voisins charmants. A noter en face un pub (un peu de bruit en soirée le vendredi et le samedi soir sans aucun excès...) et un fish and chip pour dépannage...

Perfect location for exploring the Shetland Isles and mainland. We were lucky enough to be there when the RNLI had their 4th shout of 2025 and had the perfect spot to watch the launch.

Da Milksop provides a perfect base from which to explore beautiful Shetland. It is clean, warm, comfortable and has fantastic views from the picture window in the sitting room. Sunsets are spectacular!

Lovely location. Friendly local people. Ultra quiet. View of sea from outside front door. Amazon Fire TV. Electric hob and oven, microwave, coffee cafetière and teapot. Lots of mugs and glasses. Combined washing machine and dryer. Fast wi-fi. Old-fashioned hat & coat stand in lobby for coats, hats and boots. Lots of blankets and towels.

What to say about Yvette and her perfect little shepherd's hut. Fantastic views overlooking the sea. The hut had a little bit of everything in it to make the stay even better. Even down to a emergency sewing kit for just incase. And then there's Yvette the wonderful, amazing, kind and amazing host. Words can not express how brilliant and perfect you are. Personally would pick Yvette and her little hut over a 5 star luxury place any day of the week. Thank you for making the time in Shetland so memorable.

We were very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. Heating and hot water were excellent and the bedding,towels and furnishings were of the highest quality. Jacqueline was always on hand and always friendly and approachable. The house had a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.

A very spacious, discrete, comfortable and well equipped home, optimally placed to explore the full extent of the islands. The nearby CoOp and garage in Brae have all the supplies you need. Fresh mussels and scallops available daily from the shellfish farm across the bay. Amazing wildlife, including otters on the lawn. Nikita is a super host, very supportive with good ideas, such as where to spot Orcas. The nearby Brae hotel does good dinners. Thoroughly recommend staying as long as you can to enjoy a special place, people and wildlife in the British Isles. Thanks Nikita!
