The white bass were hitting artificial crank baits You will likely not see another person unless you go to nearby state parks or wineries or to town for antiquing. Canoe & gear provided!

The Shady V Ranch cabin is located 2 miles east of Castell on about 100 acres. Breathe the fresh, clean, crisp air. Now get ready to enjoy some fun time "UNPLUGGED". Cell service is limited and there is NO wifi provided on the property. This ranch has been in my family for over 100 years. My Grandfather (Henry Hasse) first bought the land in the early 1900's. We are excited to be able to share part of the Texas Hill Country and the beautiful Llano River. We hope you enjoy your stay!

The property has direct river access with deep swimming holes and great fishing, plus two fire pits, breathtaking sunsets, and nothing but wide TX skies (shooting stars included!)

Feel free to hike around the acreage or use the buggy to cruise about. Head into town for dinner or grill out on the patio. Exceptional stargazing!

Come see for yourself. (We are also out of the flood plane and we’re not affected by the 2025 floods).

Note lake water levels vary, but we prepare for this by having awesome beach activities. Our pet fee is $35 per pet. All use of amenities are at your own risk.
