Holiday rentals with a patio in Madalena

A beautiful place to stay on Pico and good location, it was really nice to be able to walk to the little bakery and a grocery store. If you are whale watching out of Lajes do Pico, the location is perfect. A great view of Mt Pico from the upstairs bedroom. Tania was really kind and responsive. The garden is very peaceful and cats are really sweet! The pathway to get to the cottages is a little narrow and bumpy, so if you are able to bring a duffle rather than a roller bag, you will probably have an easier time. I made it work with the roller bag, but it’s a bit tricky. Overall a very nice place to stay on Pico!

We just loved it. it was the best airbnb we had ever stayed at. The location was so peaceful, secluded, with amazing view. We kept hearing only the waterfalls and chirping birds. The house was perfectly clean, the kitchen was fully equipped with new stuffs. we could cook anything what we wanted. We are sure to come back again.

I had an incredible time at Gigi house! From the moment I arrived, Gigi was super welcoming and made me feel right at home. The place was even better than the pictures – the sunsets need to be lived, it was perfect for chilling out after a day of exploring, and the had everything we needed. The pool and the sauna are TOP! The place was spotless and super comfy. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and I loved the little touches like the welcome basket. All in all, I can’t wait to come back!

„We shall be back…“ Very nice and comfortable little house, as we were self catering good kitchen equipment, never had a bathroom & loo with a better view!

First of all, we did not stay in exactly this apartment. It is a complex with three apartments and we were informed about a week before, that they renovate the booked one. But to be honest, since we have been alone in the whole complex and could test the views of all three terraces of the apartments, our alternative accommodation had a nicer view to the ocean and Sao Jorge, than the originally booked apartment. So if it is the view you are going for, then look at Google Maps for highland homes in Pico - you can see all the apartments (the greatest one has a stunnig view). The trees were trimmed, so you can see the ocean in every room. A highlight is the lavastone, but you need to pack slippers for inside, the floor is very cold. Another highlight is the garden, it is like a botanic garden, with a lot of plants we have never seen before and absolutely beautiful. There is also an easy but nice hiking trail at the end of the road and since it is a dead end, there is no traffic too.

Absolutely lovely stay with a very responsive and helpful host. Highly recommend Helia’s place! We loved the provided provisions and she let us check in early and check out late. The place was clean and updated. The road in is a little narrow and difficult to navigate but directions were clear.

We had a great stay at Aurelio's place on the island of Pico. The inside is very open & spacious and is well equipped as far as the kitchen goes. The setting, looking out on the ocean and across the way to the island of Sao Jorge is amazing, with views from the great outdoor deck and also the large wrap-around windows in the kitchen. The gardens surrounded the house really added to the beautiful setting as well. The provided bananas were quite good and a nice touch. Aurelio was very friendly and was very informative. He gave great perspective on Pico & the Azores more broadly. We would highly recommend staying at his place!

Helio and Paula were fantastic hosts with a beautiful home in a great location above a bakery. The sunrise views over Pico were memorable and a fantastic way to start each day. The welcome basket, their advice, generosity and wealth of information made for a fantastic stay in Faial.

An absolutely wonderful place, and if we are lucky enough to return, we would happily stay longer than 4days. Very comfortable and well-equipped home. Tranquil and lovely. Excellent responsiveness from very friendly hosts who provided a generous basket of treats and breakfast goods. And You simply cannot beat THE VIEW!!! We loved listening to the birds at night. We’ve stayed at some very wonderful places, and this is definitely one of them.
