This small stand alone house is quiet and secluded, hidden in the middle of an apple orchard. From your bedroom window, you can see the mountains laid out in front of you, with orchards on one side and large coniferous forest on the other. (It's also only 200m from the road.) The house consists of one very large sunlit room with a king size bed, a spacious and well equipped alcove kitchen, a big bathroom with a geyser/water heater. Outside, there is a balcony to relax and unwind.
“This review has a very special incident attached to it. I really applaud Hukum’s openness and his transparent communication. We booked his place in Manali which was the perfect escape from the buzz of traffic and pollution in Bangalore. The entire trip was to take a halt in Manali for couple of days and then drive my bike to Leh along with my travel partner. Along the same timeline of my journey, Manali was receiving the highest amount of rain in last 70 years, causing lot of landslides and damage to the roads. We were stuck at Delhi during this time, as buses to Manali were stopped. Hukum was guiding us and was in constant touch the entire time. After waiting for around 3 days in Delhi, we came to know that Rohtang pass is blocked and might take few days, to completely clear off. With a very heavy heart, we had to reroute our journey to Leh, via flight from Delhi. The Manali stay had to be cancelled although, we were in the middle of our booking. The rest of the process to cancel the booking due to natural calamity was a breeze and Hukum was really considerate to give us full refund. I would be visiting his place for sure next time we plan for Manali.”
Old wooden house set amidst greenery and mountains. The porch is the major attraction offering some breathtaking views from across the Beas River. House leads straight onto walking trails into the forest behind.
“I am already short of words for this place, lets start by most important thing which we miss in our daily life. PEACE - you can literally hear yourself, place is so peaceful, you will fall in love with it. Away from everyone - around 3 kms far yet locatable from the main hassle and busy mall road but this is what makes it so unique. Close to Nature - one can talk to nature here, you will find green plants wherever you see, in case your are alone GoGo and Mishty will accompany you to fill the empty space, who are GoGo and Mishty ??? Pay them a visit and you ll know about them. My Favourite Kitchen - Just try to cook your self and see how enjoyable a tri can be without eating much Junk the whole day ! You will find fully functional kitchen with each and every equipment, utensils, items, fully packes refrigerator. Just dont forget to ReFill whatever you use from it. Porch - One of the best place in the house to sit and sip up your drinks. Drinks ?? Obviously something hard to keep you warm, lively, romantic and energetic. I stayed here for 3 days and trust me on the last day of my trip, I didn't want to come back. Host (Abhijeet) is a nice person to talk to and will guide you on fitness, although i didnt get much time to discuss bcoz he was busy with his schedule. Lastly, one of the must visit place, stay here, find yourself, live every moment and travel to keep urself close to nature.”

“Himalayan Woodpecker -- A land in paradise. I was having a lot of expectations after I booked it, because of the reviews as nothing can be so close to perfect, right! But this damn stay is. This has been the perfect abode I could have ever asked for. I am so grateful to Rajendra and his family for such an unexpected welcome and pampering all through out my stay. Rajendra's wife is an amazing cook, she cook'ed the best of chicken and paneer I could have ever asked for amidst the shivering -1 degree cold. Rajendra's father was very gracious to help us with the fireplace. He watched us coming in and waited for the moment to ask for tea, and I felt like no less than home away from home. I can't rate the experience I had. His gesture is priceless. If you are looking for a break from the city life, and want to sit in the balcony under the shimmering sun, surrounded by ice capped mountains, listening to the rushing beas and the musing chirps of unknown beautiful birds, please make your self lucky to get a reservation at his place. You ll damn not regret. P.S. Month of Visit - March”
