Chalet Monte Alago • The only mountain cabin

🌲 Chalet Monte Alago is the only house on the mountain, an isolated refuge immersed in the park, directly in the meadows at an altitude of about 1000 metres, surrounded by woods and unspoiled nature. In the winter months (January, February and March) snow is frequent: a real holiday in the snow made of silence, clean air and nature. There are no neighbours or noise here: only total privacy and direct contact with the mountain. Great for couples, families, and small groups of friends.

The Castle House – Castle of Collepino

Collepino, formerly called Colle-Lupino (Colle del Lupo), is a small castle of the early Middle Ages 600 meters above sea level, within the Monte Subasio park. Built in local white and pink stone, it still has 1 door, remains of the walls and 4 of the 7 original towers. From here you can enjoy the view of Valle Umbra. It was founded by the local shepherds who worked for the Abbey of San Silvestro. From Collepino several walks depart including the path of the Roman Aqueduct to Spello.

The house is called "La Vedetta” (the Lookout) because it was used as a lookout tower during the Second World War.
