We had a great stay at the home of Andres and his wife Tanya. We were greeted with delicious juice on our arrival. The restaurant tips were great, and the Italian restaurant near the house was the best of our entire stay. The house is very close to the beach and easy access to the other points of Varadero. We had breakfast prepared by Tanya and Andres and it was very tasty. I recommend the stay and no doubt we will return!

The location is great 3 minutes from the sea and good restaurants. The apartment is very beautiful very clean and the bed very comfortable! We were also able to enjoy the hot tub it was great! For me, there's no better place in Varadero.

Nancy was a great host. Super friendly and helpful. A lot of care and attention also in the house, which was very clean and with many comforts. The area is also a stone's throw from the beautiful beach of Varadero. If you have to go to Varadero, absolutely go to Nancy's place!

I'm so happy I picked Zayma's place for my first few days in Varadero and Cuba. Zamy and her husband are the best hosts; helped exchange money, gave me a lot of recommendations and showed me where to get a Cuban sim card. She prepares a very delicious coffee every morning and she even invited me to a Christmas dinner with her family since I came solo. The house is very clean with AC, ideal for one or two travelers. It's 5 mins walk to Varadero beach and Casa Mia, a bar on the beach with affordable prices (lunch, drinks, a chair and umbrella was for 15$ for the whole day). Close to a lot of restaurants and bars with live music. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in Varadero.

Maritza and Richard made me feel coming home from the first sight. They were soo friendly and interested in me, I was invited to eat a very delicious typical cuban dinner with them on Holy night. The bed is comfortable (not too soft) and the bathroom with hot water and window is great. The room comes with a kitchen, table, and a small roofed terrace in front, where I had a rich breakfast every morning (the only thing I missed a little was a view or a garden, though there is a small roof terrace that could be used); you got your privacy, surrounding area very quiet, and nevertheless in the center of Varadero short before Josone Park. The place is located in the best area of Varadero, where even some local people are living, you don't find only hotels and apartment buildings. It is five minutes to walk to the beautiful beach, nice stretch not as touristic as it is further north. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anybody who is looking for real life away from mass tourism

Lolita and Carlos are great hosts and very friendly, I thought they were very welcoming and really helped make my holiday special. Their house is not far from the local beach and not far from the beach resort of Vardero. Havana is about 2 hours away by car. The flat where my friends stayed (upstairs) is lovely, well laid out and modern, it is light and airy with all mod cons including kitchen, dining area and bathroom, it has 2 large double beds and is open plan - perfect for a family or two friends. There is also an upstairs veranda on the roof. WIFI access is available from there sometimes (WIFI access has to be bought for a small fee). The flat I stayed in downstairs is less modern but perfectly adequate for a stay in Cuba, it has one double bed. The flat is situated within a 5-7 minute walk to a lovely beach with white sands, with palm trees and generally very calm sea, as it is protected by a small rocky reef. The water was crystal clear and warm (visited early May) and there are plenty of fish to see by the reef. There are no facilities on the beach but there is an ice cream bar about 4 minutes walk away (not always open) and a cafe nearby the school facing the beach but we did not visit. Over the bridge about a 3 minute walk away from the house, you come to a little town, where you can go to the market and buy fruit, vegetables and also rice, (sometimes), there are also a few shops with a few basics. Lolita will do as much as she can to get something specific you might need. I would recommend that you dine at the house for the small extra fee, Lolita knows where to source foods, that are simply not available in Cuba (many shops are empty or have only canned goods) and makes lovely meals. For breakfast for example, we had fresh juices, fried eggs, or sandwiches with ham and cheese, a fruit salad, coffee with milk. There are no lemons in Cuba, only limes. In the evening, we had meals such as prawns in a sauce with rice, side salad of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers and a desert. Hawkers peddle their wares along the road in the morning and evening and you can stop them and ask to buy, if you are interested. Lolita will do washing for you, again for an additional fee. If you are British, bring pounds, it is the best rate available. Euros are next and then US$ which have the worst rate and are charged an additional 10% fee. ATM did not work for my UK visa debit card, but I was able to go to an exchange kiosk at the airport and withdraw money via them using this card. The currency used in Cuba is the "Convertable Peso" or CUC, don't get this confused with the other type of money that only locals use and is worth 24 times less than the CUC. Traveling in Cuba can be expensive but try to negotiate the price, you will be travelling in a Cadillac from the 1950's or 60's with no seat belts or air conditioning but very colourful and novel! I even saw an old Austin! We were lucky enough to see the crab migration in the Bay of Pigs. Havana is great fun to visit, Varadero was about a 15 minute drive from our house where they have big hotels, some souvenir shops, chemist and restaurants. Go to Cuba and enjoy the lovely sun, beautiful sea, great nature and friendly people!

Daniel is a friendly helpful host. Nothing is too much to ask him. He helps with anything, even when you ask for buying fruit or vegetables. The location is in a great location: from beach to nightlife, restaurants and tranquility. It also offers complete privacy. Thanks Daniel for the service!
