The house is situated in a secluded spot on the edge our Estate village of Perlethorpe at the heart of Thoresby Estate, one of the four traditionally ducal estates that gave the area the nickname the Dukeries. The house was built in the 1980s for a member of the Pierrepont family, who have owned the Estate for over 400 years, and was designed with entertaining in mind.
