Monthly Rentals in Monreith

I had a lovely few days at Lesley's place. It's secluded and quiet which is just what I was after. The views are beautiful and I was lucky enough to have clear skies to do some stargazing. The house itself is well set up and comfortable. Lots of great locations within a short distance and Lesley had some nice recommendations of places to go. I would advise to arrive in good daylight as the track to and through the farm is very dark.

We had a really enjoyable week at Burnside. The cottage was very warm and cosy with a fabulous wood stove and lovely, spacious, open plan feel to the living area. There are great views from the cottage to the surrounding countryside. The bathroom is lovely and the beds are very comfortable. There kitchen is very well equipped and there is a great amount of local information and maps provided. There is so much to do in the local area that we would need to return. There is lots of local history and great walking nearby and only a 40 minute drive to spectacular scenery and walking in the Galloway hills.

Stayed here with my fiancé, baby and two friends in February 2025. Our other friend lives in one of the nearby houses (30 sec walk) - so this was perfect. Great communication from the host from start to finish. The place was spotless from top to bottom. The only snagging point was no toilet roll provided. Luckily able to get some from our nearby friend but I can imagine if we had to drive out 30mins to the closest shop to get some that would’ve been annoying after the long drive. Bathroom was lovely - big bath and towel rail in particular. Peaceful and beautiful scenery, and a stones throw from the beach. A great place to relax and unwind and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again in the future.

The Oystercatcher is a cosy place in peaceful surroundings. The caravan is spotless, well equipped, the kitchen has everything necessary to cook your meals. There are some beautiful beaches around. The host is great and super knowledgeable about surroundings places. Perfect dark sky here is great for star gazing and that's what I enjoyed most. I recommend.
