House holiday rentals in Monthey District

Beautiful authentic cottage where we had a nice week with friends. I would highly recommend it.

Very nice

Very warm welcome by the host. The host explained the great wooden cottage to us and gave us information about the region. We were able to communicate well in German. We (family with 2 kids, 1+4 years) had a great time at the cottage. Very good kids equipment: There was a baby bed with mattress, hooded towel, toddler high chair, normal trip-trap high chair, toys and in the very large garden still swing, play tractor etc. Washing machine and large clothes rack were also great. The house has very practical fly screens in front of the windows. The house and garden are fenced. The private parking is right in front of the house. The location in the national park is very quiet. Lake Geneva can be reached by a slightly longer walk via one of the canals leading to Lake Geneva. In the immediate vicinity is a small lake where you can watch birds and ducks. A nice big playground is about 5 minutes by car (entrance Villeneuve, flower shop). Will come again any time!

Arne has always been reacrif and considerate. The accommodation was very well equipped, faithful to the description, and in a very peaceful area. Access in a few minutes walk from the lakefront. We are holding the address for a future visit. Thanks for everything Arne!

Aw some chalet at walking distance from the elevator to Portes du Soleil ski area. Ik

This home is superbly crafted with stunning views of the mountains across the valley. Good location for all directions either to Lausanne or Martigny. The house has plenty of stairs which will keep you well exercised as well as having plenty of space to spread out in. I would have liked a freezer (for ice and ice cream) and a fan or two to stay cool (the temperature was 36 degrees - quite normal for this time of year) as the house doesn't have any aircon and so some of the rooms got very hot and uncomfortable, especially at night. I would recommend you take your own fan if you are staying in summer. My husband loved playing the piano and I liked relaxing in the outdoor net on the first floor. You really got the sense of being in a family home rather than and AirBnB from the delightful nic nacks and books around the house.

This was just a great experience. I was there for a full month, did not regret a day of it. Everyone down there obviously speaks French; Rita comes from Italy, her husband comes from Luzern and speaks German, and son Patrice studied music in Boston so is fluent in English. They are all so very friendly and hospitable, will do whatever it takes to make you comfortable. The apartment is the perfect size for one person, might be tight for two over a long period. The neighborhood is very quiet at night. I always felt very safe, never once locked the apartment door for the entire month. Rita loves her garden and loves to bake; if she takes a shine to you, she might even bring over a piece of cake or pie as she did for me. Parking is in her driveway is very tight, but you get used to it, having a small car helps. And while downtown Monthey is only a 15 minute walk downhill, the uphill walk back up (more than 100 meters ascent) takes longer and is no fun, especially when it's hot, and you don't see anybody on foot doing that. There are really no restaurants in practical walking distance, you'll need to get in your car to get a bite to eat.
