Newly decorated, studio unit, situated close to Taupo town, walking distance to shops & restaurants. Fully fenced, with off street parking. A lockable space for 2 pushbikes. Private & self-contained, our studio is cozy when you want to stay in, and easy to come back to when you've been out sightseeing or at the Lake or hot pools. The heat pump & double glazed windows will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. There's everything you need here for a great stay in our lovely town.

Urban guest suite. Seperate from main house

The guest suite is bright, sunny and great for a short stay. With blackout blinds for privacy, darkness and temperature control. A sliding door separates the bathroom from the bedroom and we provide a heater or portable fan depending on the season. The space includes a fridge, toaster, kettle, Twinings herbal tea, instant coffee, and basic tableware. Please note there are NO cooking facilities (no oven or microwave) due to the small size of the room. Barstool and table for brekkie/cuppa tea.

Sunny downstairs apartment with two queen bedrooms, both with private ensuites, a kitchenette/laundry (no stove or oven) and lounge/games room, with table tennis, and an outdoor BBQ with hotplate Own entrance & all separate to our main house upstairs. It is modern, light and spacious with quality fittings and linen and off street parking. Boating, fishing, golf courses, hiking and mountain biking are all nearby with amazing restaurants and cafes . Ideal for one or two couples and families.

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

We would love to welcome you to our exceptional John Scott home/apartment (with radiators!). John Scott is one of NZ’s premier architects and is renowned for designing unique buildings. Our home doesn’t disappoint and we are excited to share it with the Air BnB community. A self contained wing of our home sits in a tranquil spot. A five minute drive or a stroll along the lakefront will get you into town. We’re a few minutes walk from the Botanical Gardens and the lakefront :-)

Kowhai Retreat

We are a working professional couple who have lived in Taupo for 30 years. We would like to wish a warm welcome to singles or couples. We do not accommodate infants, children or animals. We are a hop, skip and a jump from the stunning Taupo lake front and easy 25 minute stroll in to town, 3 minutes by car. Happy to host short or longer stays. Super convenient location for our Taupo events such as pickups for the Tongariro Crossing, skydiving & various lake activities.
