Private rental of a 130-year-old house with a traditional Japanese sunken fireplace, wood stove, and Goemon bath

This is a private rental inn in a 130-year-old house that the host renovated himself. In the house, there are thick beams that give a sense of history, a view that seems to go on forever, a traditional Japanese sunken hearth that feels nostalgic, a warm wood stove, and a Goemon bath outside. We hope you can feel the essence of living in the countryside while experiencing the slow flow of time in the countryside. For meals, you can bring in ingredients and cook them in the kitchen, which has an IH heater, fridge, microwave, and toaster, or you can grill the ingredients on the lava plate or in the Irori pot on the Irori fireplace. There is also a field behind the house, and depending on the season, you can harvest fresh vegetables and eat them as they are. There are two types of baths, an indoor unit bath and an outdoor Goemon bath where guests can light the fire themselves. The bedroom is tatami mats and futons. The bedroom has air conditioning for a comfortable night's sleep. Reclining chairs are available on the wooden deck, so please enjoy the view of the countryside.

There is a Japanese garden and outdoor furniture on site, so you can experience country life. The bedrooms are provided with futons with mattresses, so we promise you a comfortable night's sleep. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream.
