Hi there,Welcome to the Nishimura Residence.I’m Yuta Sugimoto, the host. The Nishimura Residence is a traditional Nara machiya townhouse over 110 years old.In 2019, I renovated ‘Grandma’s house’, where I spent a lot of time as a child, and opened it as an inn.As the Nara machiya has been preserved in its original state, it has many inconveniences and is not a luxurious hotel where everything is provided. 　Instead, I believe there is no better place than Naramachi to soak up the ‘comfortable rusticity’ that permeates the town.In the hope of helping guests ‘reflect and recover’ in an environment away from the hustle and bustle of the station area, we provide books in the room and a vegetarian breakfast.(Almost all of the books in the room are available for purchase.) 　Please spend this evening in the tranquil surroundings of the Nishimura residence and Naramachi, listening to the voice of your own heart.

In spring, the rice terrace with water shows the blue sky and the surrounding landscape as if it were a water mirror. In the summer, the fresh green rice flying in the wind plays a cool tone. In autumn, rice terraces shine on one side, surrounded by golden rice hens. In winter, the straw bundles piled up after the rice harvest create the winter treasures of the rice terraces. A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!

Nostalgic Beach House A private guesthouse in Nigishima, Kumano City, facing the calm Nigishima Bay. To reach it, climb about 50 steps (5 min) for a rewarding view. *Note: not suitable for those with limited mobility. There is no TV or clock—disconnect and relax. *Extra fee applies for 2+ guests. For safety, a motion-sensor camera is at the entrance; it only takes still photos when someone passes, never continuous video, ensuring privacy.

Our guesthouse is located in the old town called Nara-machi. There used to be many traditional wooden townhouses known as Machiya. We restored Machiya while keeping the original structure in order to provide you with a traditional Japanese experience with local atmosphere.This house is for only private use and has only one floor with Japanese style room, shower room, washroom, sink and small garden.

Our house is traditional Japanese style house. 150 years old and in a very quiet location. We are renting house. Not shared with other guests. There are 2 bedrooms(Tatami-room) and 1 living room, gameroom, bathroom, shower toilet, all of the room are only for you. *Children is free of charge if your children don't need a bed and break fast. There are air conditioners in bedroom and livingroom.

JR Nara: 4 min walk, Kyoto: 50 min, Osaka: 1 hr.

Our hotel is a 5-minute walk from JR Nara Station, ideal for exploring Nara and its cuisine. Near the 100-year Hall for events and concerts. We have a total of 4 rooms available. We offer luxury amenities and an unmanned check-in system for convenience. Osaka and Kyoto are 40 minutes by train.
