Sonia’s place was just as described. She was a gracious host who met us upon arrival and opened up her home. It was a great experience for someone new to airbnb.

Green Ponds Guest House "Harbour" Double Room

LizRating, 5 stars12 months ago
Most of the rooms are doubles with separate bathrooms. I had a single room, which was lovely, but not cheaper than the doubles, and quite small, with not much space to store my clothes if I'd wanted to unpack. Of course, I had full access to the shared areas, which were wonderfully comfortable, with lots of room to spread out, a fully stocked kitchen, a wood fire that kept the whole house toasty warm, loads of books to read, and TV/DVDs if I'd wanted to watch them. The front verandah has loads of space for eating and relaxing in warm weather, and faces onto a private garden. The house is well-maintained, though quite old; there weren't many power points because of the age of the house, but the internet was state of the art. Sonia is a collector and has fascinating collections of all sorts, historical and modern, from chandeliers to crockery, old clocks to vases, quilts to coasters. Sonia is endlessly helpful and knowledgable about KI - what's on, its history, what to do, who's who.
