Cabin holiday rentals in Newcastle

My family and I have stayed at many hotels and accommodations, but Susanne and Dave’s Misty Ridge was truly the best of the best! We spent an unforgettable weekend there (2 nights and 3 days) and my entire family was beyond happy. The stunning house sits atop a mountain, surrounded by breathtaking views and friendly wildlife—walabies, kangaroos, cockatoos, monitor lizards, and possums. Trust me, the place looks even better than in the photos! Both the interior and exterior were spotless and beautifully decorated, creating such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The spa, located right next to the house, was an absolute highlight! I’ve already recommended this gem to many friends and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. I can’t wait to bring my family back again. Hopefully very soon! I feel so lucky to have found this place and can’t thank Susanne and Dave enough for their hospitality. Thank you! ❤️

A peaceful house on a ridge, surrounded by gum trees and kangaroos. We had everything we needed at the property and enjoyed the moderately challenging hike across the ridge below. Gorgeous views across the valleys around from the deck, with ever-changing clouds and weather. We were joined by fairly large numbers of kangaroos early morning and in the evening - often hopping right up onto the deck beside us! The steep drive up from Vacy is well worth it for the peace and quiet and the scenery.

Beautiful location and the most perfect little cottage to stay in. The cottage had everything we needed for a couple of nights and the scenery was gorgeous. While I didn't partake in the jacuzzi or sauna, it gave us something to try out when we come back (because we will definitely be returning). Loved the little touches of the robes, the wine and the chocolate and the bathroom was ENORMOUS. Highly recommend this piece of paradise to anyone.

I would highly recommend kylies artists cottage! absolutely beautiful, her sculptures and artworks were even more beautiful and incredible than I could've imagined. Great location, walking distance to town. Very comfy bed, great sleep! Definitely will be returning to this beautiful accommodation!

Thank you Eloise and Troy for having us and our two dogs over the Christmas break. Lovely property with everything we needed, a spacious yard for the pups, and Eloise was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Would recommend to anyone looking to get out of the city and be amongst nature for a few days :)

Cathy and Manny were a delightful hosts, clear communication and lots of helpful instructions for a smooth trip! The property was beautiful and the view is stunning! 6 of us booked David's airbnb for a much needed Boys weekend and can I just say we were not disappointed one bit. The boys had a great time chilling thanks to the game room where we spent hours. Eventhough it was cold weather we managed to have a quick dip in the pool. The property is massive, we had such a good time and we knew we didnt have much time to explore it. However, we asked David if its possible to get a late checkout and he allowed us to stay till 4pm. This was the first for any of us where everyone was relaxed after a long night of doing "Boys things". We will definitely be coming back in summer time to use the pool a bit more.

Sabrina’s place was perfect for our stay, clean, comfortable and quiet and a short distance to the beach and shops. It had everything we needed and we would definitely book again.

Super cute little cottage perfect for a weekend getaway near to the Hunter Valley. Note that you might not get phone reception in the area - but it’s good for completely checking out of work :) Our favourite part was definitely meeting Monty and Daphne, they’re very friendly and love a belly rub or a treat 🐶

What an awesome space. We spent Christmas at The Wilds and it was just superb! Everything we needed was there. The place is gorgeous and so many amazing little details, just gorgeous! Highly recommend! The local Trading Post had a great pub/cafe, a shop for all your needs and a great gift shop. There’s also a free local pool for the locals (ask at the pub, if they like you they might give you the code to get in). Overall a fantastic experience!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Simple, comfortable and clean. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking meals. Excellent host. We would definitely stay again without any hesitation.

Had a lovely stay with my family. Feeding the horses every morning & having fun in the heated pool was just what we needed after our trip to Queensland was cancel due to the cyclone. Very good location, good communication and very easy to find.

We booked this cabin last minute and were not disappointed - it is STUNNING! The cabin is so well maintained, it's almost hard to believe it's a cabin on the river. It is perfectly furnished with all of the amenities, there is nothing it doesn't have and is well stocked with all of the essentials. The rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfy. Our favourite was the beautiful deck, it's a lovely extension of the lounge that makes this place look and feel so tranquil. Jarrod, is so easy to deal with, super responsive and flexible, so grateful for such a nice host! We love it here and will (in fact have) book again :)

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cabin! It was spotless, well-equipped, and had thoughtful touches like chocolate, snacks, milk, butter, sunscreen, and toiletries. The hosts provided kayaks and SUP boards, and the beach was perfect for swimming. There’s also plenty to explore on the island—great walks, a cafe, and a bowling club. Jock, the host, was always friendly, responsive, and helpful. But the standout feature of this place is the location—it’s absolutely stunning! Waking up to the sound of birds and the gentle lapping of the waves was pure magic. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-equipped retreat in a beautiful setting, this is the perfect place! We will be booking another stay there as soon as possible.

We loved our 3 nights at Green Acres. Best Airbnb we’ve stayed in. The extras provided including the carrots for Honey and Sunny were most appreciated.

Larissa's Airbnb was an absolute gem! The place was beautiful, quiet, and perfectly located near the beaches. We loved having bikes available to ride to the beach, which made exploring the area even more enjoyable. It was the perfect escape from the city! Larissa’s recommendations were incredibly helpful, and she made the whole experience seamless. Highly recommend!

A fantastic stay in a rustic cabin. Mackerel Beach is a stunning spot, and this cabin makes the most of it with an incredible upper deck offering breathtaking views—not to mention what might be the best outdoor shower I’ve ever experienced! The perfect escape from the city to unwind and explore the simple things — cooking, bush trails, walks and swimming. We took our two young boys who loved it (they were also absolutely fine making the journey up to the cabin).

I really enjoyed my 2 nights at Dianne's studio. It's a quiet, peaceful place with all the comforts you need. The location is great: just a short drive to beaches and cafes and restaurants. I hope to return soon for another rest and recover. Thank you
