Family-friendly holiday rentals in Nicoya Peninsula

Our family of four with two teenagers loved this place. The instructions and YouTube video were super helpful when we had to find this gem hidden back from the Main Street. The jacuzzi was great and they really used all of the space so well to create a little oasis that was close to the action but felt a world away. Highly recommend.

Three of us stayed at Wanderlust to celebrate the upcoming wedding of a friend. Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Highlights of the accommodations were the incredibly comfortable beds, the peaceful atmosphere and the fantastic hot tub. What really makes this place stand out is Jai. Jai could not have done more to make our stay a magical occasion. She provided us with impeccable food and drink recommendations, connected us with local, trustworthy transportation and bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect. Jai really is a special treat. We all hope to be back someday.

Super cute the apartment and pool is very close to the apartment! There is a gym also the pool pair!

The place was very nice and spacious, just like the pictures! The hosts were super responsive and kind, really great people. The view was amazing, and the location couldn’t have been better. It was so close to the beach, restaurants, and tour spots.

Wonderful week with my family of four! Loved Punta Islita—beautiful beach and resort- amenities available to us! So much wildlife around! We actually loved the separate master bedroom, worked perfectly for us. The pool was exquisite! Highly recommend!

Great stay at Andres’s place in Reserva Conchal! The condo has beautiful views, and was well stocked and clean. The pool for the condo complex was perfect for our toddler, and we loved having access to the Beach Club. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely villa: relaxing with wonderful views of Arenal. Neighborhood was quiet and nice. Jason’s instructions were specific and spot-on. We did many area adventures and ate in La Fortuna - all wonderful. We also did the Sloth Territory tour after asking Jason for recommendations and enjoyed great sloth viewing and our local guide. Thanks for a terrific stay at Villa Mara.

We ( family with 2 children , 6 & 3 years old) felt very comfortable on the Fidelito Ranche. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, feeding and showering the dogs, as well as the great horseback riding trip with Leon. We really appreciated the quiet location, but were also able to get to the larger cities quickly.

We had a great time! The apartment is very comfortable and has a beautiful view It is close to attractions.

We absolutely loved our time at Mariposa cottage. The terrace view was amazing and we enjoyed the visitors we had while enjoying our morning coffee. Iguanas, birds, squirrels, and the sound of howler monkeys and cicadas. The cottage has tons of character and artistic flair and the outdoor shower was fantastic! Peter was a great host. Highly recommend Mariposa if you’re looking for something unique with a fabulous view of the ocean in a jungle like setting.

We loved our time here. there was a troop of howler monkeys that we could watch from the back porch. The trail to the river was steep but worth it for the tranquility and bird watching. it's outside of town just enough to feel remote while still being a short drive to all the activities that you would want to do near La Fortuna. Dinorah helped us out with recommendations and even dried out clothes in her dryer when the weather wouldn't cooperate.

We had an absolutely heavenly stay at Jan's; it was our second time in this lovely place, a perfect escape far from the crowds. The location is incredibly peaceful, with the tranquility we craved while still being close to restaurants, supermarkets, and everything you may need. The place has everything you need to cook, making it feel like a true home away from home. The internet connection was flawless, which made working remotely a breeze. As usual, Jan was attentive and responsive, ensuring our stay was comfortable and seamless. We can’t wait to return to this slice of paradise!

This location has a private beach and is walking distance to restraunts, marina, and Playa Flamingo. We wish it had a pool. AC and WiFi were good.

highly recommended. The house comes with a private pool and everything you need to feel at home. private condominium, very safe. has independent bathrooms and airs all over the house. would definitely come back. The host arrives and explains everything very clear to you.

Great house to stay in with such a large group! The pool wasn’t used but we sat outside multiple times for gatherings because it was so relaxing and had lots of seats / hammocks. The rooms itself were very very spacious! The host himself was great! We never had a chance to go into the little restaurant behind the house like they recommended BUT if my group and I ever go back to Costa Rica we will definitely consider this place again!!!

I stayed here with three friends for a girls’ trip, and we loved the outdoor living experience. The pool was amazing and felt very private. Overall, this was a great place to stay—we all agreed that the house made our trip even better. It was one of our favorite parts! Highly recommend!

My friends and I spent the last five nights at Matthew’s property and thoroughly enjoyed the home and environment from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The house and backyard pool layout are very unique and well laid out for a good time shared with friends. I highly suggest considering Matthew’s property for anyone looking to enjoy their own slice of paradise in Playa Hermosa!

Such a gem in Tamarindo! We loved being surrounded by nature and having the pool. The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen was stocked well. It can be a little hard to walk into the main town because the house is located uphill but it’s definitely doable. Jose provided us with recommendations and was very responsive. Overall I would highly recommend!

This is a great location with beautiful views of the coastline, and amazing sunrises and sunsets. Day two a family of Howler monkeys climbed by as we watched from the back yard, so cool to video. We enjoyed professional massages on the back porch provided by locals, definitely provided a zen moment in the lush tropical surroundings and it was very adorable. We had them come twice! The pool offered a refreshing break from the humidity. The hosts were very helpful in our planning process, and communicated quickly. The security guard definitely made us feel safe, and the groundskeeper kept the lush yards pristine. The location is within walking distance to great restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities, however we rented a car for convenience and flexibility. Snorkeling was fantastic! We highly recommend Playa Palmas for comfort, convenience and excellent scenery. Pura Vida!

We absolutely loved our stay here!! It was our favourite Airbnb and the only mistake we made is not booking it longer. It was also the comfiest bed we slept in all week! Norwin went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special!! We loved it. There was so much to do it was an incredible space and we were sad to leave it! We appreciate all the recommendations from Norwin, he was an incredible host! The hot water was also a bonus ! We loved the pool perfect place to cool down and soooo many games ! I would not hesitate to come back just to stay here!! The only rec I would have is earplugs if you’re a light sleeper as the walls are a little thin, although usually a very quiet peaceful neighbourhood!

Amazing place, very private and comfortable. Literally steps to the beautiful beach where you can walk for miles in either direction. Definitely made use of the plunge pool every day too! It’s on the north end of the town so away from most of the restaurants and shops (which we prefer) so it’s quiet but you’ll need wheels of some sort to further explore the area. There is a market only about a 10 minute walk so you can stock up on pretty much anything you need. Awesome, responsive host and the daily housekeeping was spot on. Would definitely recommend! Wonderful and peaceful stay at Griss Corner. The rental is much more open and spacious than the photos portray. All the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here for a central and walkable vacation.
