My grandmother and grandfather's house OKSALA is located in the southern part of Kaukos village, 1.5 km from the Ounasjoki bridge on the west side of the river. The distance to the Reidar Särestöniemi Museum is 9 km, to Kittilä 20 km, to Levi 40 km and to Ylläs (Ylläasjärvi) 30 km. The house is a place to experience the lights and silence of Lapland, the nature and culture of Lapland in the village community of Kaukonen. My grandmother was a seamstress and my grandfather was a hunter and fisherman. I've been trying to keep a hint of it for you.

Katrine Stua

Katrine Living room on Husøy in Træna was originally a barn, but has now been converted into the 2nd floor cabin. Here there is water and electricity that can be used to make coffee,simple food and run a fan heater. It accommodates 1-6 people and one can enjoy a slightly modern but primitive lifestyle. Please provide the correct number of people to get the correct price. There is a toilet in the cabin, but no bathing facilities. Et Stabbur fra 1700-tallet, med en koselig innredning. Kjøkkenkrok, trådløst internett, TV, bad med toalett, 2 soverom på loftet og stue med spisebord. Hytta står på tunet tilhørende Røkenes Gård, et gammelt handelssted med restaurant og café. This cottage is close to very good hiking possibilities both summer and winter. Winter is the magic Aurora season. We have snowshoes which can be borrowed. Close to the local downhill skiing site. All equipment can be rented. Also on site a restaurant!
