Willa Merilä

The entire cottage and courtyard are available to guests. There is space for a car in the yard, I recommend renting a car, the driving time is only an hour from the center of Rovaniemi. The cottage is located in a beautiful place by the river. Forest and nature are within walking distance and there is a public campfire place nearby where you can go and fry sausages and enjoy the campfire. In winter, you can look at the stars in the sky and search for the northern lights from the large windows of the cottage. The cottage has a sofa bed that is 140 cm wide.

If you're lucky, you'll get to admire the Northern Lights from the home yard. In the immediate vicinity of the cottage you can fish, hunt and hike. We rent snowshoes. Supermarket, bus station, and train station within walking distance. There's a free parking along Karhunkaatajantie. You can also park to the in yard for 3 hours with a parking disc. Cottage in a great location on the shore of Lake Simojärvi. Suitable for groups of two to three people. Good fishing, hunting and berry areas nearby. Quiet location. Sauna in the same building. Clean compost toilet. Solar electricity, you can charge your phone and computer. Gas stove. The door and windows have been renewed on the side of the cottage and additional thermal insulation has been installed on the inside. You can also stay in winter.

This holiday home, built in 2013, is located only about a 30-minute drive from the center of Rovaniemi and Santa Claus Village. The cabin has two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a fireplace, and a wood-fired sauna where you can experience the Finnish sauna culture. There is also a private lean-to (laavu) on the premises.
