灣臥位於恆春半島西北邊原始山稜線上，前有海洋、背有山色，建築擁抱在樹林及草原之中，最近一座村莊位於1.5公里以外，僅有一條鄉間小徑進出，是處墾丁鮮為人知的世外桃源，讓人遠離塵囂，完全地投入大自然的懷抱裡。 在恆春特有的落山風吹拂下，灣臥三個樓層的牆面如絲帶般自由展開，流線型的弧牆延展並劃分了公與私、內與外及建築與景觀的空間介面，甚至在樓梯間大膽地飛越出挑成為捕捉相思樹林隨風搖曳聲音的迴聲牆，這些自由流動的牆面建構了灣臥最具特色的建築外觀，亦成了我們的名稱 – 「灣臥」Wandering Walls（漫遊的牆）。 灣臥帶有黏性的紅土就像恆春在地豐厚黏人的濃郁人情味，一樓就在紅土之上，故以紅色命名。房外有一座原石刻鑿的專屬大浴缸，便以Red Rock 赤岩為名。
