With sunset views in one direction & the peaks of the Southern Uplands in the other, enjoy the panorama or sit by the River Cree, which crosses our land. Relax in the wood fired hot tub, sauna & plunge pool (extra fee applies). 10 mins from Loch Trool, mountain bike trails, wild swimming spots & hiking routes, guests are perfectly placed to explore this unspoilt region.

The romance, splendour and variety of landscapes to be found in Galloway lies at the door of The Old Servants’ Hall. For couples or individual explorers (and dog), this beautifully restored, cosy apartment is an ideal retreat for escaping the rat race. Small child friendly, travel cot, high chair etc available. Short drive to beaches, Galloway Forest, hills and coast. Five minutes from Wigtown, handy for the Book Festival. Great for bikers, cyclists, walkers, bird watching or relaxing. One well behaved dog welcome, please advise us before arrival.

Bird Island Bothy
Wake with the rising sun, shrill calls of the wading birds, and waves breaking on the shore only meters away. The wild shore and vegetation provide a great habitat for birds, mammals, insects and spiders typical of the Irish coast. Wading birds can be seen feeding along the undisturbed shore. Bird Island Bothy has the feel of a sailing ship's cabin with chunky wooden beams, mock four-poster bed and plush velvet curtains. A great base from which to explore the Ards Peninsula.
