Family-friendly holiday rentals in Scotland

We loved our stay at the house. Fantastic sense of luxury and home all in one. We were in and out of the hot tub and sauna all weekend. We were staying for a big birthday so Susan had also really kindly left us some gifts which we were just delighted about. The location within Aviemore is fantastic, only a short distance away from the main town but right beside local woodland walks. Great views. Size of house was also just ideal for our family gathering. Ahead of check in, Susan was a great help, particularly in providing us with an earlier than advertised check in time and lots of really clear directions. She also left lots of really clear notices and instructions around the house. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Aviemore.

Gorgeous stay at The old School house. The house had everything we needed for a girls weekend to chill. The place was very clean and Elizabeth was very responsive to any queries or needs we had. Thank you so much, would love to come back.

Bluebell cottage was lovely and in a very peaceful and beautiful location. The hot tub was private and ready for use. It was very clean and had plenty of amenities for a relaxing stay. Mary was a good host and quick to reply. We had a great time.

A lovely wee place to stay with a gorgeous view and hot tub! We had little chocolates on our bed and robes which was a lovely surprise also and felt luxurious. The tv is quite old school, but we managed absolutely fine and enjoyed the dvds provided for a nice change of pace. If you are planning to cook or have a cup of tea or coffee, I would recommend bringing your own oil/butter/milk/sugar etc, as while everytging was very clean, there were no basics at hand to use aside from a tea bag and coffee sachet for each guest. I’d also recommend bringing your own shampoo and body wash, as this was not provided. Overall, this was a lovely place to stay. A gorgeous and peaceful location that would be perfect for a couple days away or a place to clear your head. Glad we visited :)

Our stay at Buzzard Cottage on Nether Glenny Farm was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Alison and Matt made us feel like part of their family. The cottage itself was cozy, beautifully decorated, and equipped with a wood burning stove. There is also a wood fired hot tub, an amazing place to relax and watch the stars. The location is breathtaking, perched on a hillside farm overlooking the stunning Lake of Mentieth. One of the highlights was feeding the friendly Highland cattle with Matt and afterwards, warming up in the bothy by the fire and enjoying Alison’s homemade cakes - an experience we won't forget. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with thoughtful hosts, this is the one. We highly recommend a stay here and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The house was exactly what we needed for a girls weekend away. We found it easily and arrived to fresh scones and prosecco, which was lovely. The house was clean and well-stocked, with plenty wood available for the fire. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was lovely and warm. Sitting in the hot tub looking out at the hills and river was very peaceful and relaxing. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage, we had a great time and felt right at home. As regular visitors to the area we were delighted to find Elaine's beautiful cottage. We appreciated having a large wood burning stove at the heart of the cottage and the rooms are very comfortable and well thought out down to the smallest detail. There are lots of great walks all around and the town is a only a few minutes drive away. We have already booked to return later in the year.

Lovely place, in a very peaceful valley. We had a great time, would recommend to anyone looking for quiet place to stay!

We always love our stay here. Vicki is the perfect host and the location is great for exploring Loch Lomond. Will always use Vicki’s place to stay when we’re in the area. She is super helpful and gives recommendations & directions! Also, lovely touches in the air bnb for us and our dog 🐶

We had a lovely time staying at the property, it was private and we enjoyed feeling tucked away with only sheep for company. Great location and great views. Spotted lots of wildlife from the property. The whole house was warm enough with the heating on, although the living room area did get a little chilly and took a bit of time to warm up, we did visit in February though. Kitchen very well equipped with everything you might need. Only used the electric shower, which was effective and powerful but unfortunately pretty loud. Would definitely return, lots of nature and things to do nearby! Thank you!

I cannot think of a more perfect place or a more perfect host for an Isle of Skye getaway. Simply magical. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

The perfect setting for a few days of adventures or sitting with a book beside the fire. Clean, spacious, lovely setting, great communication - just great!

John looks after the place well and is helpful and responsive. A good host. This is the second time we've been, and with good reason. Others have evidently visited even more frequently. We love it here. Great having the amenities, which we used every day over a Christmas week.

We had a fabulous time staying here. Perfect location for accessing the surrounding mountains and easy walk into town for amenities. We were absolutely blown away by our stay at Ben Vheir cottage, it couldn’t have been more peaceful and private. The views were stunning, hot tub was perfect on a cold winters night and the log burner was the cherry on the cake. Truly a memory we will never forget, Caroline was fantastic at answering any questions I had and replied promptly. We will most definitely return, thank you again!

Spacious and warm cottage in a great location for exploring beautiful Northumberland. Bellingham is a great place to stay with pubs, places to eat, co-op, butchers, etc. We loved the Hareshaw Linn walk to the waterfall, followed by a visit to Tea on The Train, which is a fun way to have lunch on an old Inter City train carriage! Kielder Observatory is only 30 minutes away for unbeatable stargazing. What a fantastic trip! We will look for Norma's cottage again on our next visit to Northumberland.

We had an amazing stay at the Orchard hideaway - it is in beautiful, rural and peaceful surroundings, and is exactly like the photos. It is private, warm and very clean, the hot tub is great and well maintained, and the host has thought of everything to make it a comfortable relaxing stay. We would love to come back and 100% recommend!

A gorgeous place to stay, really enjoyed our visit and would definitely return in summer time! Should be made aware of the road to the cottage as it’s made for bigger cars on a dirt road. Our smaller cars scraped along, could damage underneath car and not great for your tyres but apart from that it was excellent. We were able to get a late check out which was appreciated as with late check-in and early check-out you only really get 1 full day if staying for the weekend. Lovely hosts and very spacious cottages😁would happily return!

Stunning location where we even got to see the Aurora Borealis above the Loch Ness! We just walked out the back door, of the Highland Club, and there was the bright glow in the sky! We regretted not spending the bulk of our trip here instead of Edinburgh. It really was like living in a castle! Charles was so fantastic showing us the facility and our apartment. It was clean and cozy! The amazing shower pressure and hot water was a welcomed surprise. We took daily walks to town and along the Loch Ness. We enjoyed using the kitchen to make dinner one night and played snooker in the billiard room. Keep in mind the onsite restaurant is closed during the winter but we had fish and chips at the Loch Inn just a short walk to town. We sat by a cozy fireplace and really enjoyed it. We can’t wait to return to the Highland Club.
