Good accommodation in a great location. It is spacious, very well maintained and has everything what you need. The kitchen had even two good scissors. For some reason in most accommodation there are no scissors. We liked our stay a lot.

The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It’s a great location right in the centre of town, it worked well for us to use as a base to explore Golden Bay. A good kitchen and a BBQ too which was ideal. No TV if that’s something you need, but some board games are provided. Communication with Ute was great. It is worth noting that the third bedroom is a sleepout but it’s only a few steps from the house.

Had a nice time staying at the Freebird lodge, the room was lovely. Uwe was very friendly, and accommodating. Would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Takaka, it’s definitely worth it.

Fantastic little old cottage just as described. Wonderful eclectic decoration. Cosy and warm. Takaka is a beautiful part of the country.
