“The place is serene and beautiful. It is simplistic yet feels complete. The location and the hospitality of Gulab Singh ji (his family is care taker of the property) are awesome. You will fall in love with the place. Though the location is remote but all logistics is well planned and taken care of. Also , there are absolutely no safety issues for couples/ladies. Aninder Ji is very warm personality. He will guide you throughout right from the time of the booking and is always available on call/message. One can go on hiking trails nearby or can simply stroll through nearby villages. Local Villagers are very welcoming and interaction with locals is always a delight. Sitting besides Bonfire at night and simply stargazing is most relaxing experience. The food is prepared fresh on the property and is homely and delicious. There is a kitchen for your own use and it is well stocked. Plan this trip for long/extra-long weekends, as 1-2 days will feel like too short here. The way to reach the property can be little tricky (tricky means hike can be short or little long) which depends on weather and road condition of the day. So be prepared for it in advance and take regular updates from Aninder ji about the weather and all. In all situations, there is no need to worry as you will be well guided and other logistics taken care of. In nutshell, one of a kind Airbnb experience and worth coming again, kudos to the Host and Gulab Singh ji.”
Santila is listed as Conde Nast’s 18 best Himachal Homestay’s. Santila’ is a secluded hill home for a family or a couple, where you will remain undisturbed by others and can travel around the area on foot. It is located in the midst of a pine forest, on a kaccha village dirt road, accessible by car. We are away from Kasauli’s growing traffic and flow of noisy tourists. Should you wish to do nothing on holiday, then we are for you. Our stay is inclusive of Bed and Breakfast.
“When we decided to travel to Kasauli we knew we wanted to stay at a homestay and not in a hotel , since we wanted to chill and relax on the getaway vacation . We chose Santila 1), because the house was on the hill itself and two how beautiful it looked . Santila is situated on the hills of kasauli way below the commercial kasauli market, away from the hustle bustle . One look at the beautifully built Anglo - Hill home , we fell in love with it . The mountain view from the house looks into other Himalayan ranges making the sight absolutely breathtaking. The hosts Ms. Lila and Santosh , well we cant call them hosts anymore but friends now , are absolutely amazing . We connected with them so instantly , it almost felt like family . Be it Ms. Lila’s delightfully stories or her heart warming laughter , while Mr. Santosh Kutty is a gem with his adventure stories too. The house is well designed with great aesthetics of a mountain home . The Kutty’s have made sure you feel at home with all the amnesties and cleanliness one requires at home . The bedroom , 1.5 bathrooms , kitchenet are all well loaded to ones requirement. But we loved the living room with a lil bed . It has the most cosiest vibe and you might spend the entire stay in the living room playing board games , watching a movie or enjoy your drinks . This stay was mainly special because of the Kutty’s . They not only lend you their rooms but they also welcome you to their home and their lives . The dinner cooked by Lila Kutty is truly special ,she serves the guest breakfast and dinners with sheer love and joy . Kutty’s special fried egg is my favourite and that’s how like my eggs now . Mr . Santosh kutty is a daredevil himself , if you are adventurous and lucky he might take you for a trek from the house to kasauli markets right at the top Of the hill . Our stay was even more special since we were there on the Christmas Eve. Mulled wine , smoked chicken , Spaghettis , roasted potatoes and lovely stories by the fire place . This holiday was more than a vacation , it was special since we got to spend Christmas with such lovely people . Lila and Santosh are couple goals !! We will surely visit the Kutty’s again because we know we made new friends !”

“Great place ! I and my family stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Brigadier Inderjit is a great host. Although he stays in Panchkula he was in touch with me right from the moment we started from Delhi and kept guiding us on places to have short breaks, land marks to spot the property and also helped us in preparing our itinerary at Kasuali. Brigadier Inderjit has great knowledge of hangout spots in and near Kasauli including Solan, Shimla and Chail etc. and he provided us his expert advice on how to spend our days. He was also kind enough to help us with his personal contacts of some good hotels near-by where we could get a discount for New Year eve's party. The property is clean, has all the basic amenities and has a nice balcony that receives ample sun shine during the day. The view from cottage overlooking hills is mesmerizing. The caretakers are courteous and very helpful. All in all it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Kasauli.”
