Holiday rentals in Rockport

Our third year in a row staying here and like always everything was perfect. Matthew is a great host, very responsive and always helpful. The property is perfect, always clean and clear instructions on check out. Has everything a family would need. This will always be our go to BNB when visiting Alpena. Thanks Matthew for another great stay!

We had the best time staying at Renee and Claudia’s, there was an insane snow store and it was difficult to get in the night we arrived. Literally within the hour they had the drive to the cabin plowed and the cabin driveway plowed. It was a peaceful and wonderful week. Will definitely be back next year!! Thank you!!

The Lake House was absolutely perfect for our busy family of five (kids ages 14, 11, and 8) plus our golden doodle! We even extended our trip one more day because we didn’t want to leave! The house had plenty of space and everything we needed and more. The property was beautiful and secluded. We spent our time drinking our coffee on the wooden swing watching the sun rise, swimming in the lake, catching frogs and crayfish, and cooking over the campfire at night. The lake is pretty shallow off the dock, so we weren’t able to fish there but we rented a boat from Dodge Marine (highly recommend) and spent a lot of time exploring the rest of Long Lake and fishing. We caught perch, the biggest blue gill I have ever seen, small mouth bass, and pike. Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your home and being a part of creating wonderful memories. It was seriously the best way to close out our summer!

Really loved our time at this cabin overall! The location is gorgeous - the views from the back patio, the hot tub, the fire pit, and the indoor spaces are absolutely stunning. You can see so much of the lake, and of the beautiful surrounding land. The cabin is also lovely. It had lots of little touches to make it feel more comfortable, cozy, and ready to settle right in! There are a few things I wish were more clear in the listing. For example, there are two bedrooms - one has a queen bed, and one has a trundle with two twins. The other queen is a pull-out couch right in the living room. Since the cabin is mostly just one large space, that room is open to all of the space. Also, the hot tub is on a low watt plug, so it took about 5 hours for it to warm up to the point of being comfortable in chilly weather. I wish it had warmed up more quickly, or been usable right when we arrived. Overall it was a really lovely trip and I would definitely recommend it to others!

My wife and I were looking for a fall weekend getaway and this place worked beautifully. The home has a bit of an old school feel, which we really enjoy. The view from the HUGE picture window, overlooking the secluded lake surrounded by the stunning fall foliage was worth the price alone! There were two kayaks and a boat with electric motor, an outdoor firepit with a wagonload of free wood (you can't use the indoor wood burning stove though) and plenty of comfortable beds. Leslie was extremely responsive and friendly too as we chatted on the phone a couple of times during our stay. The place is well stocked with everything needed and is very neat, tidy, and clean. Two eating areas with our fav; a large table overlooking the water! On this October weekend, the lake was pretty much devoid of people (but included geese, ducks, and various birds). A couple of great homestyle restaurants within two minutes (one closes at 2pm!) were right up our alley and Gaylord is 12 minutes away! LOVED!!

This home is a little slice of heaven. The view of the creek and all the trees is just what we needed for a change of scenery in March. The 4 seasons room with all the windows was the best place to hang out and had the most comfortable couch. The openness of the entire house helped us feel like we were all together all of the time. Being able to bring our dog was also a bonus. There's a door right on the deck with steps to the yard for the dog. She had a blast exploring the property! I would have thought that a place that allowed dogs would have had a dog smell, but it didn't at all. You'd never know that other dogs had stayed there. It snowed about 3 inches while we were there, and a snow shovel was left on the porch for us, which we did use. Anything and everything that you could possibly need was provided. I brought a few kitchen things I needed (like a hand mixer and kitchen brush for food), only to find that they had those items there! They literally provided everything!

We had a great time. Very beautiful scenery on a peaceful lake. We enjoyed absolute relaxation and didn’t have much reason to leave.

It was the perfect spot and exactly the respite we needed.

I had a wonderful time here! So peaceful and private, great outdoor space, and the home was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated! I felt right at home and was able to be comfortable quickly! Rachel was quick to respond, provided recommendations, and the pricing was perfect! Highly recommend for a family getaway, couples retreat, or even a solo mom trip (like myself)!
