  • We had a great time staying at Billy's Lake House! The views were amazing! Would definitely stay here again.

  • If you read everything on his site, you will know what to expect.

    Heather2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love with Douglas Lake during this visit, couldn't ask for a better location with sunrise and sunset views. And those mountains! Billy's Lake House is an excellent spot to take it all in, we would return in a heartbeat!

  • Amazingly peaceful retreat pretty close to Sevierville and Pigeon Forge.

    Alex2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Billy’s Lake House was just as described online. The view of Douglas Lake and the mountains behind is beautiful. The unit was very clean and well-equipped. The location was convenient, and the neighborhood was quiet. I was traveling with my job (and squeezing in some time with my daughter who lives nearby). Traveling alone, I felt very safe. Billy offered to make pancakes for me one morning, but I am on a low carb diet and declined. Overall, a great experience!

    Ellen2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do this place justice! The place was absolutely breathtaking! Billy was very helpful in pointing me where I needed to go and overall great host. He even made a great breakfast! This place is absolutely wonderful, cozy, and in a great secluded community! I highly recommend!

    Ashley2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Billy's place provided us a nice private room for my wife, baby, and I. The view is even better than it looks in the pictures. There's plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the lakeside location. He's very informative of what's nearby. He offered us breakfast, but we declined as we were trying to beat the Gatlinburg traffic early in the morning. The only downside to his home is that your room is right next to his and the walls are pretty thin. I didn't know this going in to the Airbnb, so I felt terrible whenever our son would have a moment in the middle of the night. Other than that, this stay was a complete 5/5. Just be mindful of the house rules and you'll have a good time.

    Jackson2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Billy's Lake House is the perfect place to relax and get away! The lake view is amazing - every time of the day has a different new color or beautiful nuance. Bean the cat was a faithful friend, the area is fun to explore (we enjoyed renting a canoe at the Mountain View Inn), and Billy's Swedish pancakes were the icing on the cake! We will definitely be back!

  • The Beach House was a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city! It is perfectly located between Knoxville and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, and we would definitely choose to stay here when we visit East Tennessee again in the future. Note to future travelers neither Verizon nor T-Mobile had good reception, so our hot spots didn’t work. Also, there isn’t a microwave so we had to be a bit creative with heating our leftovers, however there were plenty of pots and pans to use with the stove/oven. Overall Dexter and Kelsey’s Beach House was a great place, and I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the East Tennessee area!

  • Great little space. Just be aware there is no TV, Internet or phone. I was able to get cell service but it was spotty. They do a good job of communicating that in the listing.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cute little cottage. It really was a sweet treat, although we wish the little twinkle lights would’ve worked. Overall great experience!!

    Ashley2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very clean and private, I loved the porch and the little dock behind it looked great for a picnic. The hosts were great about communication and clear with parking and directions which I appreciated!

  • If you want to camp but don’t want to set up a tent, this is the perfect place. It was super easy to find, very accessible and checking in was a total breeze. Located in a campground but still very private. You get the total camping experience but with a few extras! Outlets to charge phones, a ceiling fan and of course, two cozy beds. The full size mattress was a bit noisy but we slept like a babies with the windows open. Super quiet neighborhood and a very short walk to the lake. Would definitely stay again if I pass through!! Thanks so much for the stay guys!

    Christin2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • As long as it’s going to be a cool evening it’ll be perfect. No water or ice around that was a downfall. Bring a cooler. Very quiet place and the drive was beautiful.

    Marianne2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described! We stayed in July but the ceiling fan and little fan they left us made the temperature bearable.

  • Fun little cabin on a beautiful lake.

    Todd2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is so cool!

    Felipe2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Although it's pretty obvious that this is an older camp ground in need of a few updates, all facilities worked fine, plus the cabin/tent was adorable, maintained a nice temperature at night (with the help of a fan when necessary), and came outfitted with a couple games, a basketball, and mini golf equipment. We only stayed one night, but I could have easily stayed one more!

    Katherine2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cabin in the middle of nature. Lots of nature so be prepared! I really enjoyed the Fire Ring and picnic tables along with the lovely front porch. I ended up using my own sheets though because I prefer cotton to microfiber when it is so humid and warm without air conditioning. Warm a friendly hosts that have obvious put a lot of love into that little building!

  • We loved loved LOVED our stay at Wendy’s home! The space is amazing, spacious, spotlessly clean, and so homey! Her little binder of info was great and helped us decide what to eat and try on our trip among other things and it was just so thoughtful and helpful! She was easy to contact as well! Perfect little drive to tuck away from the crazy haha just everything about our stay was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

  • We truly enjoyed our stay, the space was open so when even with a rainy day we were still able to enjoy being together as a family! The drive was nice for the tourist attractions...but there are other really great attractions locally as well! Highly recommend Foxfire Mountain for a family outing and Dandridge Brewing Company for a great local bar! Dexter and Kelsey were gracious hosts and the on site manager was exceptional!

  • My family and I recently stayed here and it was a great family trip. The location and price is unbeatable. We had some issues with the oven not working and the water pressure was low. After contacting the property manager, two wonderful men came right away and fixed both issues. We had an amazing time fishing and sight-seeing and hope to stay here in the future!

    Ali2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The pool was great. You’re right beside it. And not crowded at all. There isn’t much of an access to swim in the lake like we had hoped but found another campground up the road with a man made beach and it was awesome! I’d stay there again. The place was clean. Balcony in the back.

    Angie2019-07-05T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to stay felt like home away from home ....clean and cozy

    Donte2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin more than EXCEEDED our expectations! Our host prepared a book of information that was left in this adorable cabin with very easy to read instructions, rules and local information. Check-in was made extremely easy and convenient and the cabin was sparking clean and decorated so adorably - it was truly a home away from home. From the comfortable sleeping arrangements/beds to the spacious bathroom and beautifully decorated living room with a fireplace - I was blown away with how well kept this cabin is and how generous the owner is to even supply games in one of the closets for the kids to play, as well as kitchen dish soap and utensils/dishware, bathroom and laundry necessities. For a family of 5, we had more than enough room to space ourselves out in this cabin, and that included sharing the 1 bathroom (which we were all nervous about). Upon arrival, all we had to do was check in and visit a local grocery store (which was within 8 miles of the cabin) to complete our stay. Our favorite thing to do after sight seeing and visiting local attractions each day was to just go back to the cabin, cook dinner and relax - our host even supplied a bottle of wine! I 100% recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a 'cozy' cabin in the woods and we will absolutely keep this place in mind when booking another getaway in Tennessee. We made so many first time family memories here and this cabin will forever remain close to our hearts; I am so glad we decided to book this reservation!

  • We had a wonderful time at Sarah's place. It was clean and she was very quick to give helpful responses to any and all questions.

    Jonathan2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We recently stayed at ‘View for Daze’ for our honeymoon. The view from the back porch was gorgeous and you can perfectly watch the sunrise or sunset. The cabin itself is in between 2 others so it’s not completely secluded but we hardly ever saw any neighbors. Reading other reviews, we were a bit worried the hot tub wasn’t going to work but it worked great! The jets aren’t mind blowing or anything but they still do the trick and we’re relaxing. It was the perfect temperature and the water was nice and clean. The house itself was very well surface cleaned before we arrived, although it lacked a deep clean. There was lots of dust on fixtures and most of the decor which was a little displeasing. Also I saw some others talk about the cleaning list when you leave so I was expecting it to be crazy. It’s just your average cleaning list for staying at others homes, wash dishes, make sure everything’s off, wash towels. If you have stayed at others homes, this is a standard for leaving. The kitchen was nicely stocked with pretty much all of the pots and pans you’ll see yourself using if you plan to cook or grill. As others have stated, the couch is broken so it’s always in the recline position but it didn’t really bother us at all when lounging in the living room. Also there is a rip in the pool table but it didn’t effect any of our pool games. As a whole we had a great time at ‘view for daze’! It was in a great location and has quite the view. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again if we found ourselves in Tennessee.

  • This was the perfect get away spot. The mountain view was beautiful , it was peaceful & relaxing. Nice big living room, a loft to play pool, listen to music & relax. My hostess made sure we were taken care of & provided a quick reply when I had a basic question.

    Cammie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place to stay. Its so cozy and very spacious. Also, can we talk about that view!!! Being able to see the water was great. Even though their are neighbors it is so quiet! Would recommend and would stay again.

    Cassey2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky enough to enjoy our family thanksgiving at Sarah’s cabin. Everything was great! The cabin had everything we pretty much needed. It was very clean and cozy! We never had any issues. The cabin inside and out was beautiful! Every morning I would sit on the porch to have my coffee and to enjoy the gorgeous view!! The view was breathtaking ♥️♥️ Our 2 girls enjoyed the pool table and having hot cocoa by the fireplace. Thank you so much for letting us stay there!

  • This cabin is a great place to stay and get away! Plenty of space and beds. The cabin was clean and roomy! It is about 35 minutes from Gatlinburg. On very curvy roads, if you get sick easily I suggest medicine before driving... other than that amazing stay!

  • It was very clean and very homey. We felt comfortable there the moment we walked through the door.

  • This cabin was absolutely beautiful. We loved how clean & cozy it was. Our experience here was great. Perfect place to relax as well.

  • Location was terrific and made for a wonderful stay. Hosts were both helpful and responsive. We would absolutely stay in this cabin on future trips to the area.

    Matthew2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and location is exactly as described and what we were looking for. The space is welcoming, the beds were more comfortable than some hotels I've stayed at and the hosts are beyond accessible and accommodating. We enjoyed the peaceful location and barely saw another soul while there. We took advantage of the hot tub which was at a perfect temperature for a 40 degree evening. I would agree with some other reviewers that the couch is one of the most uncomfortable in existence but it didn't stop us from relaxing and enjoying our family time.

    Charlene2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time. Everything was just perfect! We can’t wait to visit again!

  • A lovely mountain retreat with gorgeous views! The cabin was pristine and well kept with everything we needed for the weekend. We loved using the hot tub while overlooking the mountains. It’s a spacious home that was comfortable and not too far from attractions.

Relax and enjoy your time at the lake. Beautiful fully renovated home on the main channel of Douglas Lake boasts majestic sunsets, clean mountain waters, and plenty of wildlife. Kayaks available. Rent a pontoon at the marina a short distance away. Bring your jet skis/boats & put them in at our neighborhood landing. Build a bonfire on the shore. Have some s’mores. Catch some fish!Water level highest between May/August. Check TVA website for levels. New 130 foot dock added 1/20
Entirely remodeled in July of 2019. Gorgeous views of the mountains and lake. Located on the main channel of Douglas Lake with private dock. Minutes by boat to Swanns Marina or The Point Marina. 3 bedrooms/1 full bath. Washer and dryer. Open concept living area. Nice sized back deck with sitting area and dining area overlooking the lake. Quiet peaceful neighborhood with mostly seasonal only neighbors. Fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, blender, toaster, spices, basic cooking essentials. Bath/beach towels and extra linens provided. Brand new 130 foot dock installed January of 2020. Life jackets, kayaks, and floats. Check Tennessee Valley Authority website for lake levels as they fluctuate by the month, amount of rain, weather changes, etc. Our dock doesn’t reach the water usually between October-April but you can fish from the shore. We suggest backing in to park to avoid getting stuck unless you have four wheel drive as the driveway is gravel and on a slight decline. No pets please unless prior approval. Please note that in late winter and early spring East Tennessee has quite a bit of rain. Water levels fluctuate as the dam is let in and out resulting in an influx of tree limbs and debris from the rivers that flow into the lake. Boaters can still navigate the water.
Our home is in a quiet, quaint, neighborhood. Most surrounding homes are summer weekend/vacation homes with a few permanent retirees. Everyone you encounter on our street will greet you with a smile and would loan you sugar if the need arised. A great group of people for sure. It’s a dead end street so there is very minimal traffic. Every year on the Saturday following July 4th the entire neighborhood has a golf cart parade and the kids will load up on candy so bring a bag!!! Feel free to light off your fireworks in the backyard and enjoy the show the neighbors put on as well. There is also a neighborhood boat landing. We’re just about 10 minutes from downtown Dandridge where you can enjoy lakefront dining, farmers market, antique shops, and even an old fashioned soda shop.
  • We loved our stay in Dandridge! The house was absolutely gorgeous and completely stocked with anything you could need. Hope to visit again, really soon!

  • The house was clean and had everything we needed for a late Christmas with our son and grandkids. The view of the lake (although the water was really low) was beautiful especially with the mountains in the distance. It took about 40 minutes to get to Pigeon Forge and about an hour for Gatlinburg. Reasonable distances if you don't want the hustle and bustle of being in town.

"Little Fishing Bear" A fun, fishing bear welcomes you to this little cabin right on Douglas Lake. LFB is a one bedroom, one bath cabin that is best suited for lake-loving couples or small families who want a relaxing place to fish, boat, or swim. Great for those who want to go to the less visited areas of the Smoky Mountains, but close enough to all the action of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Peaceful, relaxing scenery! No steep mountainous roads! Dollywood -13 miles Gatlinburg -18 miles
The main living area is located on the second floor of the house (the garage is for owner's use only) and is accessed by an entry door facing the lake. Upstairs is a cozy open family room with antenna TV and DVD and dine-in kitchen. The covered porch faces the lake with awesome panoramic views and sunsets. The kitchen is fully equipped, but sorry, no dishwasher. The bedroom is the other main room of the cabin and it features both full-size and queen size beds; a futon in the main area might be used for a child. The bathroom has a 48" shower; towels and bed linens are provided. Please note there is no washer/dryer, but I will do a towel exchange during your stay as needed. Outside, to go to the lake's edge walk down a short gravel path or use the paved drive to access steps to the dock; the dock (shared with the owner) has plenty of room for any watercraft you may bring or rent. A gorgeous firepit and gazebo are for you to use; enjoy picnics, making s'mores, watching sunsets, or just hanging out.
This cabin is located near Marker D on Muddy Creek and there is a community boat ramp for your use to launch a boat. Be sure to visit Bush Beans Museum & Cafe or Forbidden Caverns. Please be aware That Douglas Lake is a TVA lake which means lake levels are down in the spring and fall. The cove just in front of Little Fishing Bear goes dry then, but there is always a spectacular water view.
  • Wonderful place with a very scenic drive. No suprises, or complaints. Our quiet stay was great. Would love to return again.

  • I don’t know where to begin. This place was AMAZING! The cabin and the view was literally out of this world. Bonnie and Denny were perfect hosts. First, I made a good and booked one day too many. Bonnie instantly corrected my mistake for me. She was very nice about it. The instructions on how to get to their place were very easy to follow. Checkin was a breeze. We had everything we needed. The cabin was so cozy and the view was something out of a movie. The value of the place was affordable and reasonable for what you get. Bonnie and Denny were always available to help us with anything we needed, but we also had our privacy. Bonnie helped my daughter with S’mores making and Denny helped me get a great fire started for roasting. This was a PERFECT stay. This would be a place I’d recommend for anyone trying AirBnB for the first time. It was fantastic.

An English Mountain country house, with its extraordinary view of English Mountain, is within 5 miles of the Great Smoky Mountains. You'll love our place because of its secluded location in old growth forest, yet it's only 7 minutes from the Newport Walmart and I-40. Go to bed to the sounds of whipporwills, wake up to the gobbling of wild turkeys, then take advantage of its fast access to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Asheville.
This country ranch home sits on 10 acres and boasts a great view of English Mountain from the wrap-around porch.
The nearest neighbors are 1/8 of a mile away.
  • I stayed here for 2 months while looking for a place to live in TN and it was incredible! Such a great location and great communication...I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to the Newport area!

  • This is a very quaint and comfortable Cottage set back away from it all with a lovely view, but offering the convenience of being close to Modern comforts. It is an older home that one can tell had been lived in and cared for very much. It truly gives you a sense of peace. The resident cat is absolutely adorable! He loves to be a part of your stay!

  • It has a proper home feeling. No need to bring anything

    Jasdev2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we've enjoyed a week long stay at this cabin. We came to the area for a 5 day trade show in the Gatlinburg area, but we loved this cabin so much from our first stay last year that we decided to stay here again despite the 45-60 minute drive to the event each day. Robert, Jerry & the rest of the family are outstanding hosts. A previous guest had apparently taken the DirecTV remote with them, and the family drove out to the cabin at night to deliver the new one that had come in the mail that day. We love interacting with Zorro the cat while we're there, too. The cabin is very private and peaceful. We almost never hear any sort of traffic, and deer and wild turkey are common. If you're looking for a sterile hotel or a place that looks like it was decorated by an HGTV designer, this won't be the place for you. If you're want to stay somewhere you'll feel at home and welcomed, look no further. We would definitely stay here again, and hope to do so next year. Thank you Jerry!!

    Pandora2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location was spectacular. The house was large, cozy, and warm. The cat is precious.

  • This wonderful cottage was absolutely perfect for our family. My wife, my 2 young children, and I all enjoyed the very cozy and warm feeling from being there. Everything was clean. The house has everything you could need and more. The views are breathtaking with butterflies and hummingbirds darting all over the place. We will be returning. Clean, comfortable, beautiful, perfect.

    Harry2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place and the stay was awesome! Very clean, and close to the two attractions we went to on Thursday and Friday. Tonya, though we never got to meet her, was very nice and helpful. I would say the only down fall, which her and I already discussed, was not having adequate tv channels to watch the football games on our down time. Not even an ESPN channel. So we were not able to watch the Florida vs LSU game on tv. She did offer to do a pay per view, but I dont think the game would of had that. But this was a very minor issue.. The place was fabulous!! I would definitely stay again. And one big thing, why I booked in the first place, no BUGS! Beds were comfortable and overall setting was nice! Tonya by phone, was a great host! Also easy check in and check out. This place is a must reach out..

  • This little cabin is stinkin cute! Perfect for a weekend getaway. I LOVED the cabin decoration, it gave a true essence of a little cabin in the mountains. The view was spectacular. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to cook (utensils). My only small complaint is that the bathrooms could’ve been a little cleaner. Other than that totally worth it.

  • Beautiful cabin with awesome views of the mountains. Got to watch the sunset every night and it was worth it. Up a very steep hill so if you go for a walk, be prepared to climb back to the house. Kitchen was well stocked with spices and tools to cook with. Comfy interior. Water pressure was a little weak but I'm not sure that that is uncommon for that area. Overall an excellent place to stay

It was well decorated and just so clean. We spent a lot of time on the balcony and inside in front of the fireplace. It was very spacious for two people. Kent was very responsive when we had questions. Definitely will stay here again.

This is a unique custom home next to Douglas Lake that melts away the stress of life. The lake and mountain views are breath taking to enjoy on the spacious deck or from the interior. The home brings the outdoors inside with a 23 foot oak tree and several other trees for decor. Imagine sitting by a gas fireplace, a good book in hand and soft music in the background, with the joy of your mind being free for your imagination. Deer, turkey and birds are plentiful to remind you of nature.
There is no T.V. service to help with the serenity, but there are many movies to choose from, and plenty of CD's for music choices. A hammock awaits you next to the waters edge to add extra peacefulness listening to the birds, fish jumping or a private setting to read a book. On crisper Fall days you can wrap yourself in a cocoon enjoying the freshness of the air. There are boat rentals to have a day of fun on the lake. Douglas Lake is known for one of the top places in the world for bass fishing. Fish from the shoreline or by boat and fry up the fish for an evening fish fry on the grill. Free Kayak and canoe available for use at the home and seasonal swimming is always enjoyed. I look forward to sharing this home to help create YOUR memories.
Baneberry Golf course is in this small community for all of you golfing fans. We are less than an hour away to the Great Smokey Mountain adventures of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and Dollywood for memories of all the attractions of that area. Knoxville is also less than a one hour drive.

  • The cabin on the lake was a great place for our family to spend our vacation! The drive to the cabin was easy and there was plenty of parking. The cabin is well stocked with pots/pans/dishes. I wish there had been more dishwasher soap, we had to buy more from the store. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool is a short stroll down the street and some stairs, and there is a fire pit that was fun to make s’more on! We walked to the dock, but didn’t use it (it rained the day we planned to go on the boat), it was in good shape but you can’t swim down there and can only keep a boat during the day. The cabin is about 40 minutes from Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge. We would definitely stay here again!

Lake access for boats! Located across from Douglas Lake in beautiful Sevierville, TN! Whether you want your time to be in the woods across from the lake or you have the desire to explore the area shopping and playing , The Great Smoky Mountains and Pigeon Forge have something to offer for everyone of all interest and ages. (25-30 minute drive to PF and 30-40 min drive to Gatlinburg-depending on traffic and time of yr could be longer)
My goal for this cottage is to provide a clean, safe, affordable place for couples, families, and friends to stay and enjoy all that this area has to offer. It is far from luxurious but I am willing to accommodate any special needs. This is a cozy two bedroom one bath cottage nestled down in off of Douglas Lake. Though it isn’t a waterfront property, this space offers a driveway for storing a boat or jet skis while you stay. There is a private gated community boat launch as well as several other public boat launches in the area. With a large porch (half covered) full kitchen you can enjoy a night in and grill out. Live. Love.Lake is far enough out for that relaxing vacation you desire yet it is close enough to town for shopping and site seeing.
The drive into the neighborhood off the main road is beautiful, especially when the water is up and you can see the lake or the leaves are changing. It is a paved road, though it is very windy with some dips and must be traveled slow. This area is very relaxing and the perfect place to escape for a little while! ****due to recent rain/flooding the road into the cottage’s neighborhood will require slow/cautious driving. Unfortunately many back roads in this area were affected as well so please travel backroads with caution!
  • Absolutely loved it at this place! Absolutely beautiful!

  • Emmy was a great host and very friendly. It was a clean, cute, and quite cabin, nice to be close to everything, but far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains. Perfect distance to both Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, and the views are gorgeous on the way. We told Emmy we would be in late and she was nice enough to leave the porch light on for us. Definitely would stay again!

    Jessica2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emmy's place was perfect for our mountain getaway. It was quiet, clean, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and close enough to attractions that the drive went by quickly. Emmy responded quickly and kindly. When an issue arose, she found the source and took care of it. The price is perfect, you definitely get your money's worth here. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need (pots, pans, dishes, etc). There is no cable, but there are more than enough channels to keep you entertained on a rainy day. Plus the propane grill on the porch cooks perfectly! My husband and I can not recommend this cottage enough!

    Carie2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, quiet and spacious. As it in the details, turn the key and you are home away from home. Left a few things for the next guest and highly recommend we keep this going so we always have a home to come to.

We are close to Dandridge, the 2nd oldest town in Tennessee.
  • Brenda was one of the best hosts we've had the pleasure of meeting. She was sweet, polite, informative, and hospitable. When my boyfriend surprised me with this trip I had no clue where or what it was (it was a surprise) only that it was TN and we were staying in a barn. I expected it to be alright but it definetly beat my expectations. The place is awesome. It was country chic and very clean! We stayed over Valentines Day weekend and there was even a little basket with heart boxed chocolates, a personal letter, and a little heart novelty (that I think was made from her). Im making a memory box of it and putting the heart in it. The alpacas were sweet and so cool to interact with. I walked out the door a hundred times to pet them (there was two of them that would come to me on their own). We even got to pet one of her chickens! We plan to come back when it gets warm so we can spend more time out with them. We love animals of all species and this was just awesome! If you're debating on booking with them just do yourself a favor and DO IT! You won't be disappointed.

    Patrick2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wanda and Brenda were amazing hosts! The alpacas Earl, Bandit, Valentine, and Miracle were our closest neighbors and they were delightful. We stayed in the alpaca barn, but rest assure our dwelling was much nicer. Surprisingly nicer to be honest. It’s a small apartment in the barn. Feed the rooster made sure we did not sleep in too late. Which was a lot like your mom getting you up for school as a kid. All in all, it was a great stay with great lodging, wonderful farm friends and amazing hosts. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

    Jon2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time!! Such a cool experience. I would absolutely recommend this once in a lifetime stay. The space was lovely, very clean. The host was more than hospitable. Absolutely in love with our weekend adventure with the alpacas!!

  • Hanging out with alpacas is just as awesome as it sounds. Nice, quiet, place to stay with beautiful scenery. Brenda was great! Loved getting to hang out with the alpacas!

  • Wanda & Brenda are awesome. This place is unique. We had a really nice expérience with lamas & alpacas and a warm welcoming from our hosts. The cute house is very confortable, We had a great moment. I recommend it strongly. Thanks to them for the great moment with alpacas this morning, it was awesome to food and kisses theme and was a great experience to help a bit in your farm ! All the best. Julia & Xavi from France.

    Julia2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was a great host and took her time to explain to my daughter all about the alpacas, chickens, and plants! She "helped" on the farm and felt very welcomed! It was definitely a great experience! Farm life is the best life!

    Kelly2019-08-08T00:00:00Z

    Geoffrey2019-07-21T00:00:00Z

  • This cabin was gorgeous. We didn’t have any problems. It is called stairway to heaven and it truly was... LoL If you have difficulties maneuvering steps this cabin is not for you but we loved it. Susan was precious and had quick responses even though she was dealing with something very difficult personally. I’m so sorry by the way. We are still keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for everything. Oh and just a friendly reminder to potential occupants.... do bring towels. We read it in our rental agreement so we were prepared. Thought I would share just in case you miss it. I would definitely recommend this place. It was absolutely gorgeous and the living area in front of the fireplace was one of my favorite spots to relax. We had a great time and was great for our last minute getaway. Thanks again Susan.

The front porch is covered with a nice warm hot tub and over sized rocking chairs so you can sit out side in any weather. Our little cabin is decorated in mountain and lodge decor so you really have that cabin feel! Come and enjoy a private getaway at this time when everybody needs one! We have movies a grill and some games for a relaxing staycation!
Quite little neighborhood with small cabins like us. Our cabin is surrounded by woods!
  • My husband and I came here for a long weekend after our wedding, and it literally could not have been more perfect. I absolutely adore the bear theme, and the heart shaped tub is just the icing on the cake. Make sure you go with someone you’re super comfortable with; the cabin is small, and sometimes the barn door to the bathroom won’t stay all the way closed. Even with that, we wouldn’t have changed anything. The view is gorgeous, the drive to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg was really easy, and we genuinely didn’t want to leave. Thank you, Jennifer, for giving us such a perfect retreat in the woods.

  • Great place. My husband kept saying how he would definitely live there. Felt like home. Only thing that troubled me was leaving the drive way and a troubling U-turn.

Such a great, quiet getaway and not so far out of the way. 35 minutes from Knoxville . I came back wanting to buy a place just like it.

  • Wow...what a wonderful first-time airbnb experience my husband and I had at Tracy’s lake house! We visited the last week in December, and though the lake was down, the view was still breathtaking. Her home is warm and welcoming, exquisitely clean, and filled with thoughtful details and decor; the Christmas tree was perfection. Photos don’t do her home justice; it really is impeccably done, with playful touches throughout. Tracy was very timely in responding to any and all inquiries we had. I left a vest behind, and Tracy quickly offered to mail it to me. This was definitely a 5/5 star experience for us.

  • Very cozy with beautiful views.

  • I travel a lot, and I mean a lot. I have to say that I’ve never stayed anywhere that I wasn’t anxious to get home. That was not the case here. This house is so comfortable that I could have happily never left. In fact I kinda miss it now. It’s super clean, the furnishings and decorations are top notch, and the view is absolutely stunning. There is truly something special about this location. If your lucky enough to be able to book a stay here I promise you will have no regrets. To add to the absolute perfection of the property, Tracy was just as amazing. Her communication was immediate and there’s no doubt she cares that her guests are comfortable and satisfied. Bottom line....Book it now! Stop looking. You can thank me later.

We understand the uncertainty around travel at this time. The cabin is a turn of the century frontier home that has weathered the Flu Pandemic of 1918, The Great Depression and the Recession of 2008. The Pioneer is a solid and nurturing place, where generations of our family have sought refuge and solace. Love, laughter and music is in the mortar between the logs. Our home is a destination unto itself with 600 miles of shoreline to explore or float on your raft and remember simpler times.
You will feel at home instantly and be welcomed by a 25 foot Totem Pole, which stands in the vaulted ceiling living area. This totem pole uses to stand outside our family store called the Pioneer Trading Post. The logs of the home were hand hewn by our early American Ancestors 200 years ago. Come Hell or High Water- this home will stand another 200 years and is open to welcome your family to a place that feels like home. Rest assured, we are following all the recommendations of the CDC for sanitation and disinfecting. We will have cleaned every surface, light switch, faucet handle, door knob, appliance, dish-ware, including linens with hospital grade disinfectant. YOU'LL HAVE A 4-ACRE PRIVATE PENINSULA TO YOURSELF! Social distancing is part of the landscape. We are on a 4 acre peninsula over looking Douglas Lake. Relax, while sipping a mint julep on the front porch, while listening to the sounds of nature and the mysterious call of the whipporwhil. The property is beautifully landscaped, with small woodland trails, a camping platform, and a firepit. It's a beautiful haven, where you can truly feel away from it all. 5 BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED BEDROOMS: Each room has its own special charm and appeal. You will find 100% cotton sheets, feather pillows and rustic, vintage touches for the feel you only get at Granny’s house. SCREENED IN SLEEPING PORCH: There is also a breezy screened in sleeping porch with an antique 3/4 bed and sitting area. 4 BATHROOMS: 1 modern two-person shower 2 claw footed tubs with showers 2 outdoor showers OVERFLOWING WITH APPALACHIAN CULTURE AND HISTORY: Built by the first American settlers to the region, each log was hand hewn. You will find early American chestnut walls and ceilings, vintage oak and heart pine floors, spinning wheels, hand-stitched textiles, church pews, butter churns, pie safes, cedar chests, and family antiques throughout, yet with all the amenities of plush modern living. The Pioneer is a living museum to Appalachian history. CHEF'S DREAM: 6 burner gas stove Full range of cookware Stainless steel appliances Carrera marble and butcher-block countertops 7’ antique porcelain sink. Also includes an arsenal of stocked spices OUTDOOR KITCHEN, GRILL AND DINING AREA OVERLOOKING LAKE: -Covered Outdoor dining table seats 10 in an open air environment. You're gonna love it! OUR TREASURED TOTEM POLE: Pull up a seat next to the fireplace and study the vintage hand-carved totem pole made for Grandaddy by Chief Blue Cloud of the Cherokee Nation. The totem pole stood outside the family store, The Pioneer Trading Post since the 1930's. ROOM TO ROAM: FISH OFF THE DOCK FOOT TRAILS around the woodland property. SECLUDED SPOTS and HAMMOCKS to get away. The home sits on a knoll surrounded by woods overlooking a beautiful lake. Our neighbors are young and far enough for privacy and ear enough not to feel too isolated. Their dogs like to visit. Our other neighbor, Aaron, is also our handyman and he will be available to handle any home issues related to plumbing, changing a light bulb etc. He is only 5 minutes away.
  • Beautiful cabin in beautiful location. The hosts were easily accessible and responsive. We had a great time there!

  • Tara’s family cabin was everything that is shown in the photos and in the description (and more!). The cabin is more than special, the decorating details are amazing, the art is so special, the property is well maintained and makes for lovely outdoor time, and the household amenities made cooking and spending time together so very easy! The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for all to sit and work in a puzzle and play cards! We even did turn on the unexpected home theatre and watch a Christmas movie and were blown away that this was an option. We loved it very much!

    Susan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with amazing history, being the old guy there I was continually studying the antiques. Plenty of room, and it takes you back in history. If you love southern history like I do I would reccomend all to experience this great part of southern history. I sure look forward to staying again if I am ever offered the invitation. From the Overall family we say Thank You!

  • Tara's property is charming and rustic. We had a smooth check in and everything was as described in the listing. The hot tub came with a view of the lake and its quite an experience. It's a bit far from tourist attractions. Thanks for being a great host and for the wonderful stay.

    Sandeep2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Pioneer Trading Post was a perfect weekend getaway spot for our eclectic group of friends. There was something for everyone—football on tv, board games, hot tub, comfy couches, and even a pipe organ! The kitchen had everything we needed and then some, and it was a quick drive into Pigeon Forge for a nice dinner out. Would absolutely recommend for something refreshingly different from all those other cookie-cutter cabins! Beware that the mattresses in the loft will be too short for tall adults (5’8” or so), but we managed just fine!

    Anna2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time hanging out in the beautiful and unique house. The views, hot tub, kitchen supplies were among the best I've experienced with Airbb.

    Jennifer2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at Tara’s lakehouse. The house is fill of antiques and character and was perfect for celebrating our mom’s 90th birthday. Ample sleeping. accommodations, great seating ateas both insude and out, kitchen and eating areas alliow for eating in. The lake was beautiful and perfect for kayaking and swimming. Although close enough to Pigeon Forge for excursions, it was also a quiet and serene retreat place.

Birdwatching: From late July to early October, birdwatchers will witness the fall migration of shore birds, wading birds, and other waterfowl that flock to Douglas Lake. The birds rest and feed on the muddy shoreline and in areas of shallow water exposed as the level of the reservoir is lowered to winter flood control levels. Fishing: Nourished by three rivers, Douglas Lake has become the premier crappie lake in East Tennessee. Other good fishing includes: white bass, sauger, black crappie, striped bass, spotted bass, walleye, blue cat, flat head catfish, channel catfish, red horse, red breast sunfish and bluegill. Fishing is a year round sport at Douglas although spring and fall are the preferred seasons. From November to May, the wide shallow embayment, fertile creek hollows and stump beds, attract the crappie in huge numbers during the spring spawning season making crappie fishing excellent! Spring is the best time for bass fishing but you’ll find there’s good stock year-round. Trails: If you want to add a hiking adventure to your time at the lake, the trailhead to the Trotter Bluff Small Wild Area is adjacent to the Douglas Dam Headwater Campground. Hike the almost 2 miles of trail that winds through 30 acres of hardwood forest and limestone sinkholes to an overlook of the lake’s tailwaters. Springtime hikes are enhanced with colorful wildflowers that dot the landscape. The Dandridge Partnership Trail is a 1.2 mile out-and back that winds through wooded terrain. **Douglas Lake is a seasonal lake regulated by the TVA. There will always be water in the main channel however, during certain times of the year there will not be a lot of water at our shoreline. The TVA starts to fill the lake over Memorial Day and it is usually full by the end of May.. The TVA then starts to empty the lake after Labor Day and by the end of September, there is not a lot of water at our shoreline but there is still water in the main channel and you can drop your boat at one of the marinas on the main channel.

  • Well, if you want a place in the woods, but close to all the action that is Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Dollywood....this is your place! Home was clean upon arrival, was exactly as described. Our hostess had some unfortunate family things come up, but we would not have known if she had not told us. Susan was great the whole time!

  • A little tricky to find, but once you do it’s great (they provide detailed directions). Great amenities and not too far from major attractions in pigeon forge or Gatlinburg.

  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean, spacious, and comfortable for our family of 4. It was a welcome bonus to be able to bring our fur child as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to accommodate our stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub! Having access to the lake and to the pool was great! The lake was beautiful and we loved being able to get out on it, the pool was sparkling clean. It was close enough to all the attractions of the area but far enough away you could relax in peace. I wouldn’t think twice about making a return trip and recommending to a fellow traveler. Thank you again Susan!

  • This cabin far exceeded our expectations! The game room upstairs became one of our favorite spaces and we had air hockey tournaments every night. There are actually 2 sofa beds, one upstairs and one in the maim living area, but the mattresses need replacing. It was off the beaten path, which we LOVED and had the pool been open, it was beautiful. Lots to do and see even just in the vicinity of the cabin. There are some very steep inclines, the most of which was the driveway directly up to the cabin. Be prepared when making that final turn. The cabin was beautiful and well appointed. We had the best trip of our lives!
