The Boat House is a unique space which sleeps 2 in one bedroom/sitting room. Fully centrally heated and completely renovated last year, the property has a wonderfully sunny patio where you can relax after a busy day exploring the area. The accommodation comprises of one large room upstairs which has a Feather and Black bed which can be split into twin beds or made into one large double bed. This room also has two armchairs and a TV with a large inbuilt desk set under a window which looks out towards the Broad and the moored boats. This is a wonderful space for the budding writer or for enjoying breakfast. The original staircase (fairly steep) leads down to the kitchenette (please note, no oven) and wetroom. The wetroom has underfloor heating. There is a pub and a cafe in the village, both 5 minute's walk away which serve lunch and evening meals (only the pub serves the latter). There is also 'The Ship Inn' in South Walsham which serves meals and is just over a mile away. The apartment is dog friendly, we accept one well behaved dog. HOT TUB RENTAL £75 per short break. The tub is filled and heated for your arrival and comes with a chilled bottle of prosecco! Homemade cake, fizz and balloons for special occasions £30
Ranworth is a beautiful village in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. There is a nature reserve in the village which has a thatched visitor centre on stilts at the end of a boardwalk which overlooks Ranworth Broad. From here you can take wildlife trips on the Norfolk Wildlife Trust boat. There is a huge array of birds and wildlife to observe and listen to here. The rare swallowtail butterfly can often be seen in the garden. Ranworth church which you can see from the property is known as the 'Cathedral of the Broads'. Climb up to the top of the tower and enjoy wonderful views of the village and views all the way across to the coast. The church is known for it's beautiful rood screen and antiphoner and is well worth a visit. There is also a cafe here. A few minutes walk from the accommodation is the staithe which is host to the many boats which visit the village. Here you will find a pub, shop (closed from November until March) and cafe. It's a great spot to have a meal or a drink and watch the world go by. There are walks in the area and you may also like to visit the nearby Fairhaven Woodland and Water Gardens, which comprises of 53 hectares (131 acres) of beautiful ancient woodland, water gardens and a private broad at South Walsham. Amongst the many things that make living here special, are waking up to the sunshine with the mist hanging over the broad (with the boom of the bittern in the distance if you are lucky!), listening to the owls hooting late at night and drifting along the river on a boat. There is so much to see and do here not only in the village but also in the rest of the Broads. We are also close to many beaches. Winterton beach is a favourite both with locals and our guests. There is cafe right on the beach and a cosy pub in the village of Winterton. Norwich is only half an hour away with it's wonderful shops and museums. Wroxham is 15 minutes away where you can hire a boat to explore the waterways and there are fishing jetties on the River Bure, about 10 minutes drive away. Imagine Spa in Blofield Heath has a range of relaxing treatments available too, again only 10 minutes away!
  • We stayed at the Boathouse and it was absolutely amazing! Jane was very thoughtful we was left with some cookies which was a nice touch. Jane sent me a huge message beforehand explaining how to gain access, directions and things to do whilst we was there. Hot tub was an amazing touch with free champagne. I asked Jane to put up some birthday balloons beforehand and she did with no fuss about paying etc which was lovely. When we arrived there was alpacas in the field behind the boathouse which was lovely. Would you 100% go again!!

  • Wow! A charming, high quality and very special place to stay. The attention to detail and cleanliness are exceptional. So many little touches that were very much appreciated. Lovely views of Ranworth Broad to the front, and to the Church and Alpacas to the rear; and what a treat the Alpacas are to watch from the hot tub... Our only disappointment was that we did not book more nights! Thank you Jane, so much.

  • The perfect get away!! Jane was a lovely host and the boat house is amazing. The hot tub was ready as soon as we got there which was nice and relaxing. Jane also had a homemade cake, Prosecco and balloons ready for the arrival for my boyfriends birthday. Will definitely be back in the future!

  • My boyfriend and I spent a lovely 4 days at Jane's Boat House in February. The place is just as lovely as it looks in the photos and the views from both sides are very picturesque, even in gale force winds and lashing rain! We loved sitting at the front window overlooking the broads and boats - it was so relaxing and peaceful. Similarly, the sheep and alpacas in the field to the back kept us amused chasing each other around. So sweet! The Boat House is so cosy, warm and snug and the bed is so comfortable. There are also sweet little touches dotted around like freshly cut flowers and sea shells decorating the bath towels. Despite the weather we did manage one evening in the hot tub which was wonderfully relaxing. Jane provides big robes to put on afterwards for the dash back into the warmth. As other reviewers have mentioned, the stairs are very steep but thankfully there are hand rails on both sides so you soon get used to them. Just make sure you have at least one hand free and don't attempt to go down laden with crockery and glasses! We enjoyed a couple of lovely meals out - the first in the Ship Inn just down the road in South Walsham and the other a little further afield in the King's Head in Holt. We also visited the Malsters for a few drinks which is only a 2 minute walk away. The beach at Winterton is a lovely place for a long walk. Jane wasn't around when we first arrived but the self check-in is very easy with the use of a key safe and means that you don't feel like you are disrupting anyone's day. When we met Jane on the second day she was very friendly and welcoming and definitely strikes the right balance between letting you know she is always on hand whilst ensuring you have complete privacy during your stay. All in all we had a fantastic time and are already thinking about when to go back. The Boat House is the perfect location for a long weekend of total rest and relaxation.

  • Lovely cosy little cottage in a quiet rural location. We loved the hot tub and the real log fire! A great base for exploring the local beaches and other sights.

    Simon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just spent the weekend here with my daughters. We all loved it! The cottage is spotlessly clean and very cute. Shelley had left bread, eggs, butter and milk for us. The cottage has neighbours either side but is very private still. The hot tub is amazing. Lovely and warm even when the ground was frosty! Would definitely book again! Thank you Shelley :-)

Sandy Lodge is a home set in the sand dunes with a terrace and gate leading directly up and over to the beach. It has three bedrooms, a sunny lounge with wood burning stove and well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Check us out on Vimeo 'Sandy Lodge Sea Palling'
Our home has 3 bedrooms, can accommodate 4 adults only in 2 double beds and there is 1 single bed, but as this room leads off of the double we consider this a children's room. There is a sunny lounge with a wood burning stove heating the lounge, kitchen and front bedroom. The two back bedrooms (one leading off the other) have 2 small plug in radiators. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom has a bath and powerful shower fitted over it. There is a heated towel rail that can be switched on and off, but it's hot so take precautions with children. We will supply enough wood and kindling for one nights fire and then you can purchase any other wood and coal from the local shop in Sea Palling or local farm shop. Please take precautions with children as there isn't a fire guard around the hearth or stove. PARKING for 2 cars ONLY at any time and please consider our neighbours when entering and leaving the parking space. Do not park sideways in front of the gate. Please keep noise to a minimum on the terrace in the evening. Only guests booked into the chalet please as it’s a relatively small space. THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE so PLEASE leave everywhere as CLEAN and TIDY AS YOU FOUND IT also if you move anything could you put back where it was originally. If you use the wood burning stove or BBQ please leave clean for next guests and don’t tip ash onto bank behind as this is a Fire Hazard STRICTLY RECYCLE PLEASE READ THE PROPERTY MANUAL LISTED ON THIS SITE BEFORE YOUR STAY
Sea Palling is a friendly village community. It is a stunning location all year round with a beautiful beach. There is a seal colony at Horsey, opportunities for birdwatching and stunning skies day and night. A 10 minute walk into the village leads you to a well stocked shop and post office, beach bar with ‘pub’ food and amusement arcade and cafe that are OPEN ALL YEAR. In season it's possible to hire bikes, buy fresh fish and there is a fish and chip shop/cafe. There is a lovely cafe a couple of miles left along the beach at Cart Gap called Smallsticks and another if you turn right, in season, at Waxham Barns. The popular Nelson's Head Pub is a few miles away at Horsey, near the National Trust wind pump. The Lessingham Star, a couple of miles away in the opposite direction, has previously won Camra rural pub of the year. Stalham is a short drive, about 12 minutes and has a number of second hand shops plus a Tesco supermarket. There are a couple of well stocked farm shops within a mile or so of Sea Palling. There is a good old fashioned safe feel about Sea Palling. If you want to get in the car, North Norfolk is equally stunning and we're on the edge of the Norfolk Broads for boat trips.
  • Very enjoyable four nights in this cosy beach cottage tucked in behind the sand dunes. Thank you.

    Peter2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is wonderful, so lovely nestled in the dunes, and directly next to a beautiful clean sheltered, white sand beach. Communication and check in was all easy and helpful. We didn’t meet, but Karen is a great host. Our first morning there we walked to the beach and we saw a rainbow and a seal, in the evening the stars are stunning! we were there in early January and the weather was nice, we played on the beach all day. Shops and food are a short walk away. great arrangement of space in the house for sleeping, cooking and relaxing by the fire. Fast wifi and nice garden. Horsey beach is a short drive to see the amazing wild seal colony with their babies. I was there with my parents and a two year old, we all loved it so much. This is what air bnb should be like, thank you to Karen for sharing your lovely place!

  • The Lodge is in a lovely location down a quiet lane and to get to the beach you go through the gate straight onto the steps that lead over the dune onto the beautiful beach There are loads of things to go to, experience and see nearby including the seal colony at Horsey The Lodge has a personality of its own, beautiful without being fussy. Karen has added lots of extra touches like hot water bottles, games, waterproof ponchos etc. The wood burner made it feel lovely and warm and cosy. Everything is clean well thought out and well maintained Karen kept in contact with us to ensure we had everything we needed. We loved everything about Sandy Lodge and I would have no hesitation to recommend this as a very nice place to stay

  • Richard and Irene were super hospitable and gave us a really warm welcome, even though we only stayed one night. We couldn't fault the accomodation and we loved the little touches to make us feel welcome. We would love to stay again!

    Darryl2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was very lovely. The room was even better than the pictures - it was cosy and comfortable and had all you needed. The local pub was excellent and only 1 minute’s walk. Hosts were lovely, helpful and flexible. Would recommend!

  • Charming private space. Very warm hosts. Great walks nearby. Great pub and excellent BEERS.

    Robyn2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Irene and Richard’s house is a wonderful, peaceful spot in the heart of Norfolk. The village has a great pub and a community shop that stocks essentials and is open every day. My daughter was with me and we discovered a lovely park about two minutes drive away too. Irene welcomed us personally, and showed us round the Little Laundry. It has everything you need, and Irene had also added some lovely little touches that went over and above what we expected. Their house is just through the garden but it’s very private if you want it to be, or Irene and Richard are lovely to chat to if you need help or advice on the area. Thoroughly recommend this little house and will hopefully be back soon!

    Zoe2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at ‘Little Laundry’! Irene was very welcoming and we felt at home from the moment we arrived! Comfy bed and loads of little ‘personal touches’. Great pub close by and lovely little village setting. Hope to visit again soon.

    Emma2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Irene provided a lovely welcome and introduction to the Little Laundry. Though in the garden of Irene and Richards house, the space is very private and there are 2 little garden areas. We really enjoyed sitting out in the sunny barbeque area in the morning having breakfast. The space is one room with a small kitchenette area, bed, chair and table and separate toilet and showet. It has a lot of character and Irene and Richard have really thought through the little things that might be needed in a home from home e.g. hot water bottles, candles, hand held fans. There were also some nice touches with fruit, cakes etc. that were provided as well as tea, coffee and milk. The pub, (a couple of minutes walk away), was great. We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the Little Laundry.

  • Great location, great views and great walks along the beach. Accommodation was amazing, very clean and welcoming. Bed was a bit soft for me, but didn’t stop me from sleeping. But apart from that would definitely recommend staying here, I love the log burner, kept us warm and cosy at night.

  • Rachel ‘s place is an absolute gem of a place to stay for a quiet getaway by the sea. It was like home from home - clean, fresh and modern and some lovely finishing touches. A lovely quiet beach less than 5 minutes away is perfect for dog walking. My only wish was that I could have stayed longer! Thank you Rachel for a lovely stay.

    Devina2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Shangri-la is delightful, a well presented property in a great location being close to the unspoilt beach and lifeboat station as well as being perfect for exploring Norfolk.

  • Rachel’s home was welcoming, spotlessly clean and very comfortable and offered everything needed for a lovely stay by the beach. We will defiantly be returning.

  • Stylish, modern, comfortable chalet right on a very beautiful stretch of coast. Lovely hideaway for relaxing days on the beach with the ease of a place close at hand. Easy drives to other great beaches and attractions.

  • We had a lovely stay. The chalet was spotlessly clean, beds and bedrooms were a perfect size and comfortable for our family of two adults and two children under 5. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need to cook a meal. The location was a peaceful and quiet residential area minutes away from Eccles beach and we also visited Sea Palling, Happisburgh which were a short drive away and we also visited Wells-Next-The-Sea which was just over an hour away. Was a lovely stay my daughters called it their new home! Wish we could have stayed and explored some more!

    Juliet2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little chalet a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Really clean and stylish with everything you could need. Great location for day trips to Wroxham, Great Yarmouth, Sea Palling and lots of other places.

  • Our stay at Shangrila was lovely. The location is excellent, with the chalet a very short walk to a beautiful beach, and easy access to a range of other great places up and down the Norfolk coast. The chalet itself was beautifully presented and clean, with very comfy beds. Rachel was very prompt and helpful in all her responses. I'm sure we'll be returning soon!

A pet friendly brick and flint cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. The Gig House is perfect for summer breaks or winter escapes alike and is ideally located just 10 minutes from a glorious sandy beach.
The Gig House sleeps: 2 adults and a baby/toddler. We welcome pets - up to 2 large or medium dogs or 3 small dogs, 2 cats and any pet in a cage - and charge £25 per dog or cat per visit. We live across the courtyard and, hopefully, will be there to welcome you and to deal with any questions or requests at any time during your stay. It is located in one of Norfolk's most picturesque coastal villages. The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900 thousand years old. The cosy local pub, within 50 yards of the cottage, echoes the local connection with Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of the detective mysteries here. There is also a small shop and post office in the village. In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village. The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons. Parking is in the courtyard or on the very quiet lane outside the house. Bus stop 20 m from Albion Cottage but with an infrequent country service. Train station 7 miles away. All week long bookings start on a Saturday and short breaks start on a Monday or Friday, except at Christmas. We do not accept short breaks (less than a week) at peak times (school holidays). Out of season we can be more flexible with length of stay and start day. If you have a larger party this property can be booked in conjunction with Albion Cottage at a special rate (property also on Airbnb).

  • Beautifully designed cottage, very lovely touches including the delicious scones. Liz is super helpful and really knowledgable about the geology and archaeology of the area. A wonderful stay!

  • A lovely little retreat to stay in a lovely village in Norfolk. We loved the thoughtful touches which included fresh flowers and scones with cream and jam. A cozy place just right for two people and a dog. It was very well equipped, very clean and had homely touches. Located in a quiet village, a quick walk to the sea.

    Helena2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cosy stay. The house is small but for two adults, a 6month year old and a big dog, we had plenty of room. Small kitchen with everything you need. Bedroom was warm and cosy and bathroom was really nice and very clean. Location was great. A five / ten minute walk to the beach and easy drives out to the main areas. Very quiet little village with local shops about a ten minute drive away

  • Cosy little spot. Walking distance to the beach & pub. Would love to return in the summer.

    Maggie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Such a lovely home with thoughtful touches. Liz gave us some tips on the local area meaning we got to see seal cubs on the beach, experience great walks and enjoy good pub food. Would definitely recommend!

  • A lovely stay in this quiet, cosy location only a 10 minute walk from Happisburgh beach. A lovely base from which to explore the Norfolk countryside and to then retreat to at the end of the day. A lovely space with nice touches such as scones and clotted cream on arrival, fresh flowers and spare blankets. It was easy to find and somewhere we loved spending time. Would recommend it to anyone!

    Adam2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Gig House is a splendid place to spend a few days. Cosy, and with everything you could want for break from the everyday. It sits in the lee of the huge Happisburgh church tower and is close by to a very good pub with excellent food. The beach is a short walk away and there are any amount of footpaths. We saw great flocks of birds passing overhead at dusk and great skeins of wild geese coming in from the sea in the mornings. Lots to do in the general area, but a nice quiet traditional village to come back to! The Gig House is clean and attractively furnished, Liz, the owner was welcoming and eager to make our stay a success. We’d thoroughly recommend it as a base to explore the area or just as a bolt-hole from the pressures of the daily round.

Nestled behind sand dunes & 5 min walk from the sea Field Cottage is a former agricultural workers cottage that has been renovated sympathetically whilst retaining its charm. The Cottage is surrounded by gardens & wildlife. The Blue Flag beach at Sea Palling & the Norfolk Broads are just mins away. Field Cottage an ideal all year round rental with log burner, heating & dogs welcome. Please contact the host for more details of availability in the summer as the calendar can appear confusing.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT BETWEEN EACH OF OUR GUESTS VISITS THE COTTAGE IS COMPLETELY ANTI-BAC CLEANED. THATS ALL SWITCHES, KNOBS, CONTROLS, HANDLES..... Your groceries can be delivered directly to your door. Twenty Miles of Golden Beaches Field Cottage lies at the heart of twenty miles of golden beaches and there is a Blue Flag swimming beach (life guard protected) at Sea Palling, a few minutes away. There are new reefs on Eccles beach which are creating lagoons, ideal for Bass fishing & crabbing. As the cliffs gradually erode further north, Eccles Beach is an ideal place to find fossils such as mammoth bones. Baby Seals, Country Pubs & Winter Walks In recent years, a project at Horsey (five miles away) has created a safe environment for thousands of Grey Seals to come ashore in the winter and give birth. Each year, from late November to January, the Friends of Horsey Seals Trust manage one of the largest colonies of Grey Seals in the UK. You can see baby seals being born from protected viewing points and look at the amazing care and love their Mothers provide. It is an amazing experience for all. The seals are present all year on the beach at times. Explore the Broads On the doorstep of Field Cottage is The Broads National Park. Lakes, rivers, windmills and nature trails abound. One of the best ways to learn about the Broads and to see the wildlife and flora is to go on the water itself. We can recommend MV Lady Ann, based at Horsey, with Skipper Ross. He has a traditional wooden Broads boat for guided exploration tours. One hour trips. You can hire canoes at Hickling & Stalham or use the nature trails and cycle paths that abound. Happisburgh - mammoth teeth & our oldest relative The village and cliffs of nearby Happisburgh have become famous in recent years as homes topple into the sea. We've even lost the lovely tea shop! The cliffs are a site of special scientific interest and the oldest footprint in Europe was discovered here in 2014. Our ancient relative is thought to be 850,000 years old! The dramatic erosion of the cliffs at Happisburgh are revealing an ever increasing range of fossils and mammoth molars. These are regularly found along the whole beach from Happisburgh to Eccles because of coastal erosion. Blickling Hall Blickling Hall, (National Trust) was built in 1616, and you can visit the house and gardens all year round. The formal gardens of 55 acres illustrate 300 years of landscaping and planting. With over 4,600 acres of woodland, parkland and farmland to explore, discover the gently rolling countryside and intriguing landmarks that sit at the heart of Norfolk's beautiful Bure meadows. The Bluebell woods are a lovely start to spring, and at Xmas Blickling Hall is set with lights and decorations for the whole month of December. Birdwatching Norfolk is one of the most important bird watching counties in the UK – and there’s plenty to see year-round. Field Cottage’s dunes are ideal to watch the migratory birds during the spring and autumn. Spring sees the departure of the winter wildfowl and waders and the arrival of the first birds from their wintering grounds in Africa. By mid-April, thousands of birds are pouring along the coast on their long journeys north. In the summer, the Norfolk Little Turn project, based on Eccles beach, is one of the largest protected breeding colonies in the UK and is managed by the RSPB. You can even volunteer to scare away the birds of prey, foxes and hedgehogs if you like! East Ruston Gardens East Ruston Gardens (3 miles from Field Cottage) was only started in 1973 and now justifiably can claim to be the finest display gardens in Norfolk. The gardens, close to the North Sea have created their own micro climate to grow exotic and unusual plants from around the world. The gardens contain an interesting collection of sculptures by local artists as well as many architectural features. Medieval Norwich Norwich is an ancient city that deserves to be explored. Its only 12 miles to the park and ride which is the best way to explore it. It has ancient medieval streets and buildings, a fantastic cathedral, arts centres and often has festivals and exhibitions. No trip to Norfolk should ever miss out on a day in Norwich. —————————————————————————————————————
This is beautiful quiet un-spoilt part of the Norfolk Coastline. Nestled along the sand dunes with you are other holiday lets as well as second homes. You are within walking distance of the Small Sticks Cafe (20min walk) at Cart Gap which is excellent. Sea Palling is also only a walk away along the beach (30min) offering pub, cafe, shops, arcade

Stone Cottage is a traditional cottage with a modern interior located right behind the sand dunes and beach. It has a sheltered, walled garden and a conservatory.
The bedroom is spacious with views over the walled garden and the sand dunes, and has a king sized bed. The room has a TV with DVD player, wardrobes and plenty of cupboard space.
Sea Palling's stunning sandy beach is popular all year round for nature lovers and dog walkers alike. The large colony of seals at Horsey is just four miles away but Sea Palling gets its fair share of seals too. Sea Palling is close to the Northern Norfolk Broads. There are wildlife tours at both Horsey and Hickling.
  • I really can't fault Jason's place and can recommend stone cottage without hesitation, its clean, warm, cosy and a real home with every thing you need and if you have dogs the garden is superb. The beach is two minutes walk away, turn right and walk to Horsey to observe the grey seals or turn left and walk to Eccles or Happisburgh or further. The local pub is just great, its like stepping back in time, the people are just so welcoming and friendly, it's just a beautiful part of untouched England.

  • This was a lovely well cared doe cottage with all that was needed to make our stay comfortable. If the weather had been bad it would have been a very comfortable place to be. The conservatory was lovely and there was so much space in the garden. The area is beautiful and the cottage is so close to the beach, beautiful beach walks. It was lovely to be able to entertain our friends, thank you very much Jason for being happy for us to do this. I will definitely recommend to friends and would book again if we stay in this area again.

Beautiful, simple newly renovated bungalow nestled into the North Norfolk dunes. A peaceful retreat with the wide sandy beach moments from the back door. Perfect for families and friends to enjoy the big skies and wide open beaches of this amazing coastline.
This charming little hideaway is moments from the beach; at the end of the garden is a short path across the dune leading you to beach. This part of the coastline is still a bit of a secret and for most of the year, you will only see a few dog walkers.
The house is quite isolated. We have neighbours but there aren't any shops or pubs close by. The road is very quiet and seems to go to bed quite early! There is a great little cafe 5-10 minutes walk away which does a great breakfast. The walking around here is amazing and if you like a morning run, there are some great round routes that give you a fabulous coastal workout!
  • Beautiful location & cottage. You will not want to leave!

    Tanja2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a twixmas break and I have to say it was worth every penny. The bungalow was very comfortable and Claire had thought of everything we needed for our stay. Location is perfect for a get away from it all break and the beach is at the bottom of the garden. We got up early some mornings and sat and watched the sunrise with a cup of tea. You will need a car to get around and be careful on the road leading up to the bungalow as it is extremely bumpy! All in all a lovely few days away.

  • This is a lovely little get away, amazingly close to the beach which is perfect for everyone and especially dog owners. The place is very well kitted out and stylishly decorated and the hosts were fantastic. We’d definitely recommend this place and we’ll likely come again too.

  • Chalet One is a beautiful holiday home in a great location, just a few minutes from the beach. Despite horrible weather we were warm and cosy inside and could barely hear the wind howling outside. The bed was really comfortable and everything was furnished well. Daphne and Sarah have gone to a lot of thought with the extra touches and you can see the love they have put into the chalet. The kitchen was well equipped with some really thoughtful snacks left for us and the dog! The beach at Bacton is lovely and long making it perfect for chucking a ball for the dog. The site itself was quiet and clean and I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer- you can see the sea from the chalet windows!

    El2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Super well thought out space great base for local area and access right to the beach for the family or a couple to enjoy, local cafe was dog friendly and they were super kind. Many thanks

  • My little dog and I stayed at Chalet One during the throes of Storm ‪Ciara‬, possibly the windiest day of the year! The chalet was warm and cosy, and we spent a lovely weekend walking, chilling and reading. Saturday was glorious and we were able to hike for miles on the beach which is just a few minutes walk from the chalet. It is wonderful - completely unspoiled. The chalet is compact and has a nice beachy feel without being overly ’themed’. There is unlimited Wifi and Daphne and Sarah have thought of just about everything to ensure a restful stay - including a really comfortable bed. I would definitely book again.

  • Pot Luck is a stylish chalet filled with thoughtful extra touches to make your stay feel really luxurious. Newly built, Pot Luck is a good mix of brand new house with a lovely homely feel. Polly has gone to great lengths to make sure you have everything you could need or want here to make you comfortable, so you can relax and enjoy your break. We loved the outside space; the big Norfolk skies under cosy blankets or watching the kids playing on the lawn from the verandah. In the evenings, we loved getting cosy beside the wood burner on the comfy sofa. The location of this house is perfect. Just across the dunes is a beautiful, sandy beach which is where we spent most of our days. Or, you could walk 20 minutes to Sea Palling to find a chip shop, playground, pub and arcades. Something for everyone! My family and I can't wait to come back here in the warmer weather. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend Pot Luck to anyone looking for a comfortable, restful Norfolk break. Pot Luck is a little gem.

  • I can’t think of a more perfect spot to hunker down, wind whipping over the dune behind this surprisingly spacious, elegantly appointed beach house. Polly has thought of absolutely everything, outfitting the kitchen so thoroughly that we weren’t even tempted to go out for food and just stayed in making lovely breakfasts and meals to have while the wood burner cast a cosy glow. It was even warm enough in the mornings to have coffee on the back patio, the dunes creating a wind-free sun trap. Polly is the consummate host, really lovely to deal with and it’s clear that she’s put so much thought into Pot Luck, whether its visitors are families with young children, couples looking for a getaway or a group of friends. The proximity to the beach makes Pot Luck even more special, and we were rewarded with glorious views in all directions and acres of smooth sandy coastline. Bird-watchers can see dozens of species that flock to this part of the North Sea coast, and there’s often a seal or two bobbing around not far from shore. The proximity to the beach was too tempting, though, and we were rewarded with glorious views in all directions and acres of smooth sandy coastline. Bird-watchers can see dozens of species that flock to this part of the North Sea coast, and there’s often a seal or two bobbing around not far from shore. Across the dunes and inland, flat, marshy Norfolk stretches for miles, with its beautiful skies occasionally pierced by a church tower or windmill. A few miles up the coast, the red-and-white striped Happisburgh lighthouse is worth a visit, especially on the Sundays when you can climb to the top.

  • Cosy and warm. All amenities as described with a thoughtful welcome hamper. The stars at night are a real treat.

  • What an amazing place at the kestrel, so cosy, quiet and perfect for walking the dog. I encountered my very first lighthouse on our Christmas day walk, which was on my bucket list of things to see/do (super excited about that). Loved looking out of the skylight at night whilst in bed just watching the stars. A perfect place to wine down and distress. Will definitely return. Also a big thank you to Marcel for the welcome pack of Christmas treats and even a little something for marlie our dog. Very much appreciated. What a perfect way to spend our Christmas away.

    Kiesha2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic few nights at Kestrel holiday barn. The accommodation is clean, bright, warm and comfortable and is equipped with everything we needed. The enclosed garden is ideal for the dog. The whole place is great for anyone who wants a break at the Norfolk coast.

    Jenny2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely gem! The host is extremely responsive and helpful and his suggestions of where to visit and things to do made our trip absolutely fantastic and better than we had hoped. Perfect not just for dogs but for our newborn daughter too. Would absolutely revisit

    Jess2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, roomy and warm accommodation with everything you should need for a perfect stay. On arrival already had milk in the fridge, plus tea/coffee/sugar, and a welcome basket for both humans (and canines if you're bringing them). It was very quiet all around so slept very well. A good size Tesco store is 4 miles up the road with the cheapest fuel in the area plus you can shop for your provisions very easily instead of bringing it all with you. On this occasion I didn't get to visit the beach and beyond for some walking due to all the rain but you are also within 40mins each way of plenty of places to visit including Great Yarmouth, Cromer, and several National Trust properties so things to do in all weathers. Would highly recommend a stay here. If there are more in your party there are other properties to hire within the same grounds so you can all be together in up to 4 different homes.

  • What a lovely place! Very dog friendly with some extra unexpected touches. Comfortable stay and a great location for some brilliant walks. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you Marcel!

  • Beautiful location situated a few minutes from a very quiet beach. The Kestrel was as described, very clean and thoughtful touches for children and dogs. The bed was very comfortable and we had a travel cot set up for our son, although we were also offered a single bed for him! The kitchen has all the utensils and dinner-ware you need for a stress free holiday.

    Philippa2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is secluded enough while close to the beach (by car) and very dog friendly. The patio is enclosed so dogs can play safely. It has a shared sauna that was surprisingly comfortable and well made. The cottage itself is light and modern, and while the bathroom is less modern it has a lot of accessibility aids which may help those with issues. Kitchen well equipped and a lot of nice touches like coffee, tea and milk and even a bottle of wine.

  • Great stay at the barn for the weekend, it's a beautiful place with lots of space and plenty to do in the area. The guest book provided loads of useful information on the best beaches to visit and we loved both the local and the seal beach. Lovely extra touches of fizz, biscuits and crisps on arrival too

  • Fantastic stay - location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach. The recommended walks in the book were great! Will definitely be back to Winterton.

  • A fantastic barn in a very beautiful spot, walking distance to a gorgeous beach. It was the perfect house to come back to after chilly walks. Couldn’t have asked for more, and have already recommended it!

  • A perfectly located and beautifully equipped house with a short walk to the beach. A dog walkers paradise! Hopefully we will be back again soon

    Dan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four, along with our small dachsie, had a fantastic five-day stay in this stylish holiday home, which exceeded our expectations in every respect. Perfect for lazy days indoors, offering all mod cons, beautiful decorative touches, attention to detail and thoughtful touches - down to the torch for late-night digestive walks after dinners prepared in the perfectly equipped kitchen. An ideal location to get away from it all! We enjoyed the lovely walk to the beach and to the nearest pub, along with plenty of excursions detailed in Rachel’s guest information booklet. We look forward to returning to this cosy and idyllic gem at some stage soon. One of our favourite Airbnb experiences in the UK!

    Kristina2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the barn. It's really nicely finished inside and out. Great to be able to take the dog and an easy walk down to the beach. Always nice to have a log burner too, even if it's not really needed. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Roz is a very communicative and helpful host. Our kids love this place. Lots to do in the surrounding area for rainy days too. The nature trail is a particular favourite!

  • Amazing location right by the beach and such a cosy, comfortable home. Roz thought of everything we might need, as our party spanned three generations. Fantastic local tips and really super communication. It was a welcome change to ditch the technology and get back to good old fashioned board games and conversation. Absolutely 5 star!! The Water Cabin is a recently renovated 1930’s cedar-clad cabin located on the bank of the River Thurne, in the heart of the Broads National Park. It is the ideal retreat for a romantic getaway or family holiday at any time of the year.
The Water Cabin has two bedrooms (sleeps four) and open plan living room, kitchen and dining room. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and bath. Outside, there is a large decked area, a generous sized garden and an adjacent boat dyke with river frontage and moorings. The cabin has river views to the front and countryside views to the rear.
The Water Cabin is situated in a friendly community of riverside properties on the bank of the River Thurne in Repps with Bastwick. Neighbours will be a mix of residents and fellow holidaymakers. The Broads National Park is made up of manmade rivers that are medieval and home to quarter of UK’s rarest wildlife. There are more than 200km of navigable lock free rivers and open water. In the Broads you will see the swallowtail butterfly, the Norfolk hawker dragonfly, the marsh harrier, the bittern and the crane. One of the best places to visit to spot all five is Hickling Nature Reserve. The Broads National Park is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife. There is nowhere else in Britain where you go for a walk and see a swallowtail butterfly sunning itself upon a flag iris. Nowhere else, where on the same footpath, you’ll see a flock of cranes cross the sky like oriental wallpaper. By the time you’ve put down your binoculars you’ll have already noticed the hares boxing in the meadow beyond and the Chinese water deer breaking cover from the willow trees. The air is filled with the hum of dragonflies, some as large as your fist. Was that the sound of a cuckoo? The water is flat and clear as a mirror and upon it a grebe glides as though in state, before disappearing beneath the water’s surface. Beneath the shade of the sails of a heritage mill seems the perfect place to stop, to listen to the song of the swifts and the sway of the reeds. Because the Broads National Park is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife and there is nowhere else in the country where you can see all of these creatures in one place, except here.
  • A place to contemplate, relax and be inspired. Great waterfront location, I'd be happy to spend the whole time indoors....beautiful details and styling a must see/stay.

  • Great hosts who were professional and responsive. The welcome pack was extremely generous and very much appreciated. The cabin is stylish, clean and well thought out. The skylights and vaulted ceiling in the lounge create a bright and spacious property. The location is peaceful and it doesn’t take long to find yourself settling into the pace of life on the river. We left well rested and refreshed. My father uses a wheelchair and my mother walks with two sticks. Mum had no issues accessing the property and Dad was able to gain access over the front step with the help of an able bodied companion and once inside was able to access all areas, including the outside decking. We hope to return in the future.

  • Really great place to get away from it all and relax.

    Michael2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our week at the cabin, was beautiful & peaceful. Such a stylish space and lovely to have the deck and garden right on the water. The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you need to prepare a proper meal which we really appreciated - we have a toddler so all our evening meals were at home. We had lovely weather during our stay but would have been fine even if not as it's such a lovely space to relax in. Loved the books dotted around as well - a really nice touch. And when it was too chilly to sit out on the deck in the evening we watched the sky changing colour and the birds passing through the windows from the comfy sofa. We didn't miss internet / tv at all, was lovely to have a proper break.

The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons.
  • What an Amazing cottage! I loved every minute. Perfectly clean, friendly host, scones with cream and jam on arrival, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. I do recommend this place for beach walks, lovely local pub and to just relax.

  • Lovely hideaway with quirky decor. Felt like I was definitely living in someone's house - lots of character and easy to get comfortable. I'd recommend to anyone who wanted to peace and quiet for a few days.

  • A very quiet, quaint and beautiful property!

  • We had a great stay at Liz's characterful cottage. It is amazingly well-equipped and felt like a cosy home from home. Loved sitting in front of the fire with a glass of red on a cold night! Liz made our dog Ernie feel very welcome and there were lots of great beaches and walks nearby, as well as excellent pubs. Happisburgh itself is lovely too - very quiet and peaceful. We hope to return!

  • This is a stunning cottage in a gorgeous village. The decor is beautiful and everything was so comfortable. We would certainly come again.

  • lovely house. great spot. excellent hosts

    Andrew2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as it looks in the pictures, but hard to see the attention to detail. From the Morris wallpapers to the wick trimmers and chestnut roasting pan the house is true to its' roots. The fires were easy to light; cosy and snug, just what you need after a bracing walk along the sands. ..... UK winter breaks don't come much better than this and Liz's tips were spot on..... go on.....book it!

  • As the 1st guests to stay at Linda's place we are pleased to report... it was lovely! Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, high pressure shower, beautiful touches such as a loaf of homemade bread, jams, milk and juice were all appreciated. A lovely quiet cottage. Plus our dog pips had a gated space out the front which was useful too. Linda and her husband were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for allowing us to stay 😊

Oriental Garden Chinese restaurant friendly service to eat in or takeaway. Poachers Pocket pub in neighbouring village of Walcott, excellent food and friendly staff. Village shop, well stocked with a good variety of food, drink and more.

  • Our stay at your cottage was lovely. Especially all the thoughtful extras :)

    Hannah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gaynor's little chalet is the perfect base to explore the North Norfolk coast. I don't remember the description saying that it has a sea view so that was a very lovely surprise. The place was absolutely spotless, and given that they welcome dogs, there's absolutely no evidence of any previous four legged lodgers (except the basket of doggy items provided) - a bonus for non dog owners. We didn't need to use much of the kitchen (as we have family nearby) but it was extremely well equipped. The plates, bowls and cutlery for kids were a bonus too. The beds are very comfortable (and I can be difficult to please in this area), the pillows and duvets just right, there's enough storage available, it's lovely and warm and the sofas are comfortable enough to sit and read for hours (as I did in the evenings). We only wish it was less windy so we could have sat outside and watched the boats go by whilst the kids played on the square (they were up, dressed and raring to run around and do cartwheels on our first morning). Gaynor, your kind gestures were very much appreciated when we arrived and for our first morning. You really have thought of everything and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your lovely little place to others.

    Hannah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb booking and we were not disappointed! Gaynor kept us well informed throughout and the chalet and location was perfect. Lovely little touches like eggs, cereals and bread when we arrived, spotlessly clean and literally 1 minute away from the beach! It was our first time taking the pup on the beach and he had a great time. We’ve been to Norfolk before but never to Bacton and we are in love! Local shop and pub are within walking distance, the food at Poachers Pocket was good and the staff were very friendly. So glad we found this place, would love to return in the summer if possible.

    Neil2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay with great gestures of the hosts. Had a lovely hamper of food which wasn't expected but so truly thoughtful. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Tigh-Na-Mara - Gaelic for 'house by the sea' or 'beach house' - is a compact two bedroom chalet in a prime position on Winterton Valley Estate, with amazing uninterrupted sea views. Direct access to the dunes and beach is right in front of the chalet. Inside, the open plan living area includes a comfortable sofa, TV & DVD player, and a dining table with seating for three. The well equipped kitchen area includes a fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as washing machine. Bedroom one has a standard double size bed, and uninterrupted sea views. Bedroom two has a 3' wide single bed. The bathroom includes a shower over the bath, wash basin and WC. Winterton Valley Estate is a short walk from Winterton village, and is open from the end of March until the end of October. There is no clubhouse or amenities on site and the chalets are very well spaced out, so the estate offers a peaceful and relaxed environment to enjoy your stay. Tigh-Na-Mara has electric heating, and has parking behind the chalet. Up to three dogs are allowed at Tigh-Na-Mara, but must be kept on the lead in the chalet park - Tigh-Na-Mara doesn't have an enclosed garden area. It's park policy that dogs shouldn't be left on their own in chalets in case they bark, but nearby Caister Kennels offers doggy day care if you need to leave them.
  • Great location , near to beach , very comfy beds. Excellent cotton bed linen . Very clean for dog friendly accommodation. Good parking onsite .

Comfortable double room with kitchenette facilities and exclusive use of adjacent wet room. Set within walking distance of the High Street with a Tesco store, pubs, chemist and a variety of small shops and cafes. Ideal base for exploring the Norfolk Broads (we are walking distance from Stalham Staithe). You are spoilt for choice with our nearby gorgeous sandy beaches only a few miles away such as Sea Palling or Horsey, famous for the seals. The fine city of Norwich is about 15 miles away.
The room is quite separate from the rest of our accommodation, whilst being within our house, with sole use of adjacent wet room. Fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. Light breakfast provided including cereals, toast and selection of spreads, orange juice, tea and coffee. Tv/dvd, radio, heated towel rail. There is an additional oil filled radiator and blankets in the room for chilly nights.
We live on a quiet road in the lovely Broadland village of Stalham which is within easy walking distance, as is Stalham Staithe, gateway to the Norfolk Broads. Plenty of little high street shops and charity shops as well as pubs and cafes. There are a wealth of gorgeous beaches nearby which are well worth a visit, whatever the weather.

  • I needed a place to stay so I could photograph a wedding close by. This was an ideal, easy to find location. Both Rachel and her husband were very hospitable during my time there. The room is great with your own self contained amenities and you have exclusive use of the wet room!

Chris and Lesley welcome you to their two person Studio which is an ideal place from which to explore the lovely North Norfolk countryside and coast. Located in a very quiet location, overlooking fen meadow which is a wildlife haven, the Studio offers a high standard of accommodation. Luxuriate in a super king sized bed ( can be split into singles) with Egyptian cotton bedding. Stay snug in winter with underfloor heating. Bathrobes are provided for you to lounge around in.
A self contained Studio in rural North Norfolk. It is situated in the Broads National Park but lies close to the coast. Overlooking fen meadow you will see plenty of wildlife including deer, barn owls, marsh harriers, buzzards. If you are really lucky you may see a crane or a bittern.
The Studio is located in the Broads National Park close to winding waterways and the lovely sandy beaches of North Norfolk. The village of East Ruston is home to the nationally renowned East Ruston Gardens which is a must see attraction for the visitor. We are located right next door to the long distance footpath route the Weavers Way. From this route there are a number of circular walks that can be undertaken. Canoes can be hired locally as can bikes. Broadland cycle hire offers free delivery to our area. There is a carp fishing lake in the village for which day tickets can be bought. Day boats can be hired from a number of locations nearby.
  • The Studio is in a great location with great views of the sunset over the fen. The Studio was exacrly as described and Chris and Lesley were really welcoming, greeting us upon arrival, showing us around The Studio and giving us lots of hints and tips of places to eat and things to do. The Studio has everything you need to be self catered and there was even a little starter hamper (with milk / freshly baked bread / lemon drizzle cake / cookies / jam etc) waiting for us when we arrived along with some freshly picked flowerson the table. Would highly recommend staying here.
