  • One of the best airbnbs we've stayed in. Absolutely sweet, welcoming, very clean and comfy. Hayley and Scott have thought of everything, all the little things that show they care, and that make a place special. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief visit and would certainly stay again - highly recommended. Thank you both!

  • The place was amazing and Hayley and Scott were super responsive. Lots of cute little touches. We haven't stayed at a lot of Airbnbs but this was by far the best we've been too.

  • We were delighted with the space and amenities. It was bright, cheerful and nicely decorated. The apartment was larger than expected and sparkling clean. Haley and Scott were easy to reach when we had a problem with the door code, and they responded promptly. We highly recommend staying at this apartment. We would definitely return in the future. • Beautiful!!

    Anita2020-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • This Penthouse was designed with style within an old home. Beautiful!! The kitchen is the center of attention with an open floor design and easy to maneuver around to cook. A nice corner of the room is cozy to sit and read or another corner to chill and watch TV. The bathroom is beautiful as well - very spacious! This location also allowed us to travel to nearby State Parks! This is a great place to stay!!

Private room available in a dorm-style setting. Fully furnished for 1 with access to shared bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry. Includes twin bed. Free TV & Wi-Fi. Conveniently located next to Winona State Univ & a short walk to downtown & the Mississippi River!
  • Perfect location for visiting WSU. Tooms are neat and clean dorm-style ( shared bathroom down the hall) rooms.

    Sarah2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay right across the street from WSU. Plenty of parking. Simple accommodations (single dormitory style rooms, with amenities such as tv and microwave, and shared bathrooms) and very convenient. Host was very flexible.

    Sarah2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described, great value!

    Matt2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as described. The location was great, the room was clean, and I felt very safe as a middle-aged woman traveling alone. It's dorm-style living but had everything I needed. Perfect place for the traveler on a budget, which I am so grateful for. I would definitely stay again.

    Tina2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Scott is very responsive and makes sure you have everything you need and that you are comfortable. The space is clean and quiet.

    Danielle2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • I am a solo woman in my seventies who is a forever a "budget traveler". I have no physical restrictions (yet!) that prevent me from going and up and down a flight or two of steps. MY ASSESSMENT I think Scott's dorm room option is a TREASURE in the Winona area. The security is great for a solo woman traveler like myself. How many budget rooms offer an array of small amenities not expected in a typical low-cost option? I will not enumerate all the small amenities because rooms DO vary. My recommendation: read the description for the standardized amenities. In general, I found much, much more than I expected. All added to my comfort. WHAT I LEARNED: if there is NOT something you need, and it can be provided, please DO NOT hesitate to ask the resident assistant Paul. Two examples: I needed more hangars and blankets (I sleep "cold") than were provided. Resident assistant Paul emphasized I should NOT have hesitated to ask for more of each. STAYING HERE AGAIN: I will stay at Scott's place every chance I get because it is a viable budget option when I want to overnight in Winona. The location and price can not be improved upon. Also, now that I have met resident assistant Paul (he was not here five years ago when I first stayed here), I can honestly say, Paul is another treasure (besides price and location) who you will meet and interact with - when you book here. Great place, Scott (president of the company that owns this property)!

  • Neat, convenient,cozy

  • This isn't a high end room - but a nice, affordable room, immediately across from Winona State University. The room did not have a private bathroom, but it was two doors down the hall to the men's room and showers. The bed was comfortable - I slept well. I didn't hear any noises!!

A roomy, but cozy upstairs loft with den, kitchen, bedroom with new queen bed, and full bath. Guest wifi and television with cable included. Shared entrance with homeowner but completely private space with locked door at top of main stairs.
The most common description guests have of our loft is clean, comfortable, and cozy. It could be called "modern rustic." The den and sleeping area is an open design, with a 3/4 wall separating them. The kitchen and bathroom both have doors for privacy--if you are an early riser, go into the kitchen, close the door, and make your coffee and enjoy the view out the kitchen window overlooking the nearby bluffs!
We are in a quiet neighborhood on the west end of Winona, a mile and a half from downtown. It's a convenient location, midway between the Winona State University and St. Mary's University campuses. We're also a few blocks from WSU's west campus, Cotter High School, the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts, and the entrance to the walking\bike path around Lake Winona. A comfortable, clean, affordable place to call your own while visiting Winona!
  • We have stayed with Brian and Betty a few times now. The loft space is perfect for our family. They are always willing to provide an air mattress and linens for my youngest. This trip was a bit sad for us as we were moving my daughter out of the dorm at Winona State (due to Covid 19). It was comforting to have a familiar place to stay that we knew would be clean and safe. Hopefully, we will be staying with them again next Fall.

    Rebecca2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Brian and Betty's place! They went above and beyond to provide thoughtful touches that made the stay exceptional. Would definitely recommend.

    Gretchen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for our stay in Winona. Betty & Brian we’re very clear in their communication. We really enjoyed our stay! Would definitely recommend.

    Andrea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brian & Betty’s loft was the perfect place to stay in Winona! The space was clean, inviting, and homey; not to mention the chocolates, coffee, Popcorn, and good movie selections!! Brian and Betty also provided us with a schedule of Winona’s weekend events! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Brian and Bettys. It’s clean, cozy, and relaxing. They left us a little print out of what’s going on in the area that day. Such a cute little place.

    Kristin2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brian and Betty were there to greet us and answer all our questions. Everything in the space was clean and well-kept. It was perfect for our needs, plus very quiet, safe, and comfortable. Highly recommended and would stay there again.

    Jean2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I was just in town for a few night! Definitely way better than a hotel. For one person this is more than enough even with two people this was great. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and even a drying mat for the dishes! Brian and Betty make this place extra special with all the little added details to events in town to a description sheet of all the things the loft offers ☺️. Also such a great help with directions during the winter time when Winona has alternate side parking!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

    Ben2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent several nights at Waterfront Studio. Abbie was helpful and provided quick responses to questions we had. We had a lovely time.

  • Awesome place on the water, really clean and great location and communication. Exactly as described but even better views and peaceful and relaxing.

    Craig2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy and right on the water! The water has a lot of weeds so don’t plan on swimming, but we enjoyed the canoe/kayaks! The place was clean and everything was in great condition.

    Lindsey2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place and beautiful space. Thank you for a great retreat!

    Pamela2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, a few steps on the water. Wish I had found this before this year as we get sick of paying and staying in hotels for hockey! 5 min from Onalaska hockey rink 🙌🏻!

    Heidi2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • I love everything about this place, from the thoughtful little touches that made my stay pleasant to the peace and quiet of the general area. I especially enjoyed the mornings and evenings sitting in the screened-in porch enjoying the views of the water and listening to the birds sing. The restored prairie just across the road was also a wonderful place to walk around. It's a cozy place to relax next to the water while still being within a short drive of restaurants and whatever entertainment you might be in the mood for. I'll be going back.

    Dean2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, comfortable and amazingly clean! Great location for hiking (loved Brady's Bluff), biking and enjoying the fireworks at Riverfest. Abbie quickly responded to questions and recommended great restaurants (Red Pines and Nutbush). We had everything we needed for our short stay including fresh picked kale and spinach from Abbie's garden!

  • Tammy has the best customer service. She was out of town at the time that I stayed with her but checked in regularly. Beautiful Country setting in a beautiful little village.

    Vickie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great little get away spot. It was awesome seeing the 8 deer and eagles in the back yard. The horses were very friendly to my dog. Overall, I would recommend this Airbnb if you looking for a quite, peaceful and pleasant getaway. The host is very responsive. Thank again!

    Jessica2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at Tammy's place several times and are never disappointed.

    Tammy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a big two-story "ranch" style house with a wide front porch and a saddle just inside the front door. It is nestled in a quiet little valley in the bluffs just 10 minutes west of Winona. Tammy uses no scented detergent in her linens, so it is perfect for those of us who are chemically sensitive. Tammy is attentive in a very low-key way, kindly offering tea and privacy. Best to visit the horses when they are hungry for treats, rather than right after their breakfast!

    Hilda2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was my wife and I's first experience here on Airbnb. We can't tell you enough how amazing it was for us to be spending a week at Tammy's place! We needed a place to crash before our lease at our new apartment started. She was such an amazing host! Her hospitality was beyond amazing! She have the cutest cat on the planet, Goulash, who spent a night or two in our room (which we let him because he is so adorable!). Tammy also have 2 horses, Charlie and Sugar. She let us help her move them and it was an amazing experience! Also, Tammy made some custard and she let us have some and it was delicious! Overall, Tammy is a sweet lady! We can tell because of how caring she was to everyone in her house. She was such a good role model for us, too! We will miss this place!

    Hunter2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic getaway with country charm. Tammy communicated quickly and prepared such a welcome within her beautiful home. Be sure to say hello to Sugar, Charlie and Goulash. We'd definitely stay there again!

  • We enjoyed a calm and relaxing stay, as well as the beautiful scenery on the property. Tammy was very welcoming and made sure we had all of our questions answered before we arrived. Per her suggestion, we hiked SugarLoaf Trail in Winona. It was perfect this time of year!

Please contact me for exact address. We are close to the LaCrosse airport (30 min). 3 hours from the Mpls/St Paul Airport. I hope you’ll love my home as I do. My home is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. We are laid back, very casual and serve home style. If you are looking for fancy.....sorry. I have several golf courses close by as well as some beautiful countryside. Apple orchards are all around with Ferguson's Apples being a DAY trip! GREAT for kids.
My home is an old Schoolhouse built in 1916. Tongue and groove hardwood maple floors, wood heat and an open floor plan. I love my home with its lived in look. We are in the Driftless Area of WI, MN, and IA....check it out and go for a drive! You'll see why we call this God's Country. Newly redone. King size bed now, more dresser space and fresh everything.

It was wonderful to come back from a day of great shoulder season hiking to a warm fire, a good book and some quiet rest. Plus, Bruno is a gentle giant who lived up to the hype!

This is a beautiful historic apartment with modern decor in the heart of Wabasha. It is only two blocks from The National Eagle Center and a 5 min drive from Coffee Mill. You will also be close walking distance to the river and many nearby restaurants. There is free street parking right outside the apartment.
  • Based on the pictures, I was expecting a stay in a charming little apartment. Not only was it VERY charming, but it exceeded my expectations in so many ways - comfort, style and more. Sarah's apartment is perfect for a creative getaway!

    Brenda2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful. Certainly an unexpected gem in the heart of Wabasha. It worked out perfectly for Grumpy Old Men Days...we made quite the splash walking though town in our grumpy costumes and our Dumb and Dumber plunge costumes...CHAMPS!

    Nate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculately clean, a perfect combination of classic charm (high ceilings, thick woodwork) with modern amenities and upgrades. Tastefully decorated with thoughtful details.....and a very comfy bed!

    Tonnie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing. We've had many stays in AirBnb's and this one has been one of the best! Sparkling clean from top to bottom, beautifully decorated, thoughtful touches everywhere you turn. She anticipated all of her guest's needs and that makes all the difference. We loved cooking in the kitchen, the super plush towels, easy Netflix/Roku use, the extra boudoir room space with large mirror, and the comfy bed in the sun-filled room. We did notice noise from the bar below (live music) but she was kind to provide ear plugs for guests. Communication was fast and helpful, would definitely recommend!!

    Kristi2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic! Would recommend to anyone! Clean and stylish!

    Jonathan2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s space was lovely for our weekend stay! Perfectly located, extra cozy and well decorated and furnished. The space had everything we could have needed.

  • Such a great, stylish super clean place. We had a great stay and enjoyed the space. Would recommend others stay here!

    Melissa2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming, clean and updated apartment. We had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen has just about everything you'd probably find in your own kitchen which makes cooking a breeze! The only down side is that all of the street/sidewalk noise is very noticeable. I plan to come back in the summer and would stay here every time! Great experience with Sarah and recommend checking this place out!

Lofty wood side valley adventures is a great to place to stay and get-away for hunters, fisherman, mountain bikers, hikers, canoeists, birdwatchers and State Park enthusiasts located 3 miles from Whitewater State Park. Loft is located in the heart of Whitewater Valley. Not only is our loft located in a great place for hunting and fishing, its also perfect for day trips to viewing wildlife year round. There are 2 pubs that offer limited food specials and occasional entertainment and 1 restaurant located within 1/2 mile. The View of the Elba Fire tower from the loft is unique. The fire tower is registered on the National Historic Lookout register. Elba Tower was constructed by the CCC in 1936 and is the farthest south of Minnesota's fire towers. No longer manned by the State Division of Forestry, the lookout is located on Division of Wildlife land immediately adjacent to Whitewater State Park. The 110-foot tower, with a 7- by 7-ft. cab, was transferred to the Division of State Parks for restoration and use as an interpretive site. Steps lead to the Tower make for a great afternoon adventure and pictures. Another local landmark on the National Registry of Historic places is the Marnach house, and is only 3.5 miles from the loft. The house is oldest known surviving example of traditional European construction among the region's pioneer architecture. check the web links for more information.
  • The loft is a great place to stay to explore Whitewater State Park which is just five minutes down the road. It is very clean, comfortable, and cozy and the views from the deck are pretty. We enjoyed the quiet and the rustic charm very much. The firepit and the grill were an added bonus that we wish we had had time to enjoy. We will definitely be back in the fall or next spring!

Breezy Point Cottage is located near the lakefront at the edge of a residential area on French Island, which is within the City of La Crosse. Nelson County Park and a private sailboat club are located at the northern end. There are several marinas on either side of French Island. We have a few casual restaurants/bars, some with entertainment, as well as a grocery store and a couple gas stations. • This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a place that feels like a warm loving hug throughout. Nice touches in the decor give your eyes something interesting to look at all the time. • Ended up staying in the cabin next door run by her sister so I can't speak a lot for Angie and DJs particular cabin. HOWEVER, they looked very similar from what I can tell, and Abbie's was AMAZING!!!! It was sooo cute with so many thoughtful touchs - including fresh baked cookies waiting for us, adult and children coloring books in the drawer, and all of the soap was the seventh generation brand - environmentally conscientious place!! Local tips for all the local hiking. Location was amazing. I will definitely be back when it's warm, if they'll have me! :)

Responses from Angie were welcoming. The amenities of having bikes, kayaks, charcoal grill, and board games were great even if the weather didn't cooperate! We would definitely stay here again when visiting the La Crosse area!

    Adam2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place overall. Very stylish and the bath is to die for. The bed can be a little uncomfortable, however, as we tended to “sink into” certain spots. Not a deal-breaker but something to be aware of.

  • If you are looking for a beautiful, clean, perfectly located place, Adam's place is it! The space was sparkling clean and provided a quiet, relaxing atmosphere for a weekend getaway. Adam was also great with communicating and taking care of the few questions I had. I can't recommend his place enough!

Completely renovated, now with A/C! Mississippi River views from every room in the house. You can even lay in bed in either bedroom and see the river! We are from the Florida Keys, where locals are known as Conchs (pronounced "konks"), so we named this beach-themed cottage the Conch House. Love the Conch House, but need more space? We also have a 3 bedroom next door, affectionately known as True North. Book both for larger groups.
We took this adorable 100 year old house down to the studs. Everything is brand new and super clean. It's quaint and modern all at the same time. And, oh, the views! Bring your binoculars! Other features include: - New kitchen - Refinished original hardwood floors - Brand new memory foam mattresses - Brand new sleep sofa - Huge, luxurious, walk-in master shower - Heated floors in master bath - Marble-topped vanity in master bath - All new fixtures in guest bath as well - Ceiling fans throughout - All new windows and doors - Enclosed front porch with 180 degree views of the Mississippi River and the bluffs - Side deck with grill, table & chairs, firepit and, you guessed it, more amazing views! - Boat ramp 1/4 mile away
When it comes to things to do in and near Minneiska, it's an embarrassment of riches. We are halfway between the quaint river towns of Wabasha and Winona (15 min from each). Wabasha is where Grumpy Old Men was filmed and is home to the National Eagle Center. Winona features the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Pickwick Historic Mill, and the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. We are also 30 - 45 minutes from the charming towns of Lake City, Red Wing, Stockholm, Fountain City (home of the Mississippi Thunder Speedway), and other historic river towns. You will never run out of opportunities for dining and shopping, not to mention the art galleries, antique shops, and museums. Enjoy hiking and bird-watching at nearby parks, including the John Latsch State Park, Great River Bluffs State Park, and Sugarloaf, to name just a few. Minneiska is perfectly situated for hunting and for year-round fishing, with a boat ramp just a quarter mile away. There are also several nearby golf courses to choose from. We are right in the middle of the Great River Road Wine Trail, amidst 11 great wineries. There are three wine festivals a year (Spring, Summer, and Fall). You can even help with the harvest and then partake of a gourmet picnic among the vines! The Coffee Mill Ski Resort is 20 minutes north, and we are surrounded by snowmobile trails with spectacular river and bluff views. The bird-watching from the front porch is unrivaled - geese, tundra swans, bald eagles, white pelicans, sandhill cranes, and so many more. They're all at your doorstep. We are right next door to the shop of an amazing wood carver, Harvey Langseth. Check out his beautiful work. Last, but not least, we are 2 minutes from Buck's Bar & Grill and the Eagle View Bar and Grill - both great, convenient options for awesome food, service, and views!
  • Great views! Very relaxing time.

  • This house is a little slice of coastal heaven right on the Mississippi river

    Vinay2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Conch House was a fantastic place to stay at. From cleanliness to comfort, the entire house was exactly what we were looking for. Joy & Mike we’re in touch if they were ever needed and also were available if we were looking for recommendations around the area. The King bed was so comfy that if we didn’t have other plans I could have stayed in bed all day. The Conch House is just a hop away from Winona where we enjoyed food and drink and several state parks that were awesome for hiking. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with all the things you need for a home base, I would recommend this Airbnb!

    Sterling2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joy was always quick to respond and her answers were professional and detailed. She is both a flexible and understanding host. The expansive river views were pleasant. The Florida decorations inside made us forget about the cold outside. All in all a lovely stay.

    Idelle2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet clean lovely place to relax and watch the eagles from the front porch. Food and museums just quick drive from house. Wonderful scenery! We will be back in fall to check out autumn leaves and eagles again!

    Judy2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Conch House. This is by far the best Airbnb I have stayed at. It was sparkling clean with comfy beds and pillows. It had a very functional and well stocked kitchen and the views were great. A wonderful pre-holiday getaway to relax. Thank you Joy & Mike!

    Lesley2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • It definitively lived up to the reviews! I bundled up every morning with my coffee and sat in the 3 season porch to watch the sunrise, eagles flying by, trains and barges. The woodcarver next door is great..ask about his famous Guinness Book of Records holder great grandfather. Along with all of the other recommendations I would highly recommend a drive into Winona and visit the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, they have Picasso's, Monet's, Whistler, O'Keefe, Renoir, just to name a few famous artists in this really really great museum right on the river.A steal at $7

    Angela2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy place that was spotless! Beds were comfy, towels were soft and the master shower was amazing! Loved the heated floor in there too. Was happy to find coffee, bottled water and a few other odds and ends on hand. Location was great to walk up to Bucks bar and have dinner/drinks and play some pool. We also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit (made s'mores) on the back porch. Thanks for allowing us to relax at your place :)

Non smoking and no pets allowed in the lodge.
Although located in a secluded and remote setting, guests are only 4 miles from town.
  • Wonderful stay at Dave and Carol’s lovely farm. We would highly recommend their place to anyone looking to unplug for a while.

    Rachel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • You’ve looked at the pictures and are now checking out reviews...next step, book your stay here immediately. As amazing as the pictures and description are, they just don’t do this getaway justice. Carol’s hospitality and the cozy loft were amazing and far exceeded all expectations.

    Keith2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Haunted Hollow was amazing! The loft was perfect, so comfortable in every way. Communication with Carol was so easy and she was the queen of hospitality. We felt welcome the moment we pulled in. The space was perfect for the three of us, plenty of room at the table and some extra comfy beds. Her whole property felt pretty magical on this fall weekend: the pond, the horses, the squash and pumpkins! We can't say enough good things about this stay- we were sad to leave after just one night. Book now!!

    Leahjean8@Hotmail.Com2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was outstanding! Place was very clean and lots of thought was put in by the hostess for our stay.

    Sam2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Haunted Hollow is an absolute treasure. Carol and her husband are caring and hospitable hosts, and their entire property is gorgeous. It exceeded expectations in absolutely every way. We knew Carol was an excellent host from the first message we received from her. She had written directions to the property (it’s a bit off the map), recommendations for places to eat (and not eat), and furnished the fridge with drinks and a breakfast pastry. She even brought us freshly cut watermelon for a snack in the middle of the day, knocking on the door without looking to respect our privacy. We spent nearly an entire day on the property, and wished we had longer to spend. We are already discussing when we can return to Haunted Hollow in the near future.

    Jacob2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is truly a remarkable host! She was so welcoming during our stay and has so much to offer around the loft and farm. She created this beautiful loft that has become an amazing hidden gem of Arcadia. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

    Charley2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a GREAT stay! Carol was amazing from the booking process to staying in touch and finding out my trip needs. We were greeted by Carol once we arrived and was shown the ins and outs for the lodge. The lodge was clean and over the top with amenities to make the stay even more unforgettable. Carol had the fridge stocked with sodas, beer, wine, and even her homemade canned goods! Which were very tasty! The farm is remote but yet close to Aracida and is a great getaway location. I’m looking forward to making this an every year trip to the Haunted Hollow Lodge.

    Evan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z

  • Kendra’s place was great! Beautiful charming location, well appointed, gorgeous sunsets, super friendly.

    Devin2020-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I took a weekend get away to plan our ceremony and the space and the location was perfect. This unique and beautiful space has inspiring artwork every where! The bed was so comfortable. Large windows provide natural light. Wifi worked great too. We went to a winery close by, Villa Bellezza, which was fantastic. We also had tasty Chai and pie cookies at the Stockholm Pie and General Store. I would definitely return here for another get away or to get out of town to get some work done. Kendra was easy to communicate with and a great host!

    Renee2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kendra’s place was super cool and unique. Wonderful to watch the sunset through the wall of westward facing windows. Not too far from a couple neat small river towns with good food and drink options. Definitely recommend staying here!

    Drew2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kendra’s! The former schoolhouse is full of character and history. Stockholm and Pepin are just a short drive away. Her art adds to the beautiful surroundings that make up this hidden find. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

    Julie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • It is a wonderful quiet stay. We loved solitude.

    Roxane2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kendra was super helpful and responded quick to every question I had! She even gave me some tips on where to eat and things to do! Great host!

    Griffen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying here. We felt inspired by the open space and art all around, and loved watching sunset through the entire wall of windows. Kendra was communicative and has obviously put a lot of creative thought into the space and creating a lovely experience for guests. Highly recommend. The kitchen was small but still had all of the essentials, including a small oven which allowed us to roast the meal we had planned to make. We hope to come back in the summer sometime to enjoy the bonfire in the backyard!

This is a very cozy, private cottage located in the driftless area on the upper Mississippi River in Dresbach MN. This cottage has everything needed for a relaxing girls weekend, fishing excursion, or romantic get away for two! The cottage is less than a 10 minute drive to the historic downtown LaCrosse, WI where there is an abundance of fine dining, shopping and entertainment. Great River Bluff’s State Park and historic highway 61 Bike trail just minutes away as well.
  • An excellent location right on the Mississippi River; minutes from Onalaska, LaCrosse and LeCrescent. The back patio is a big highlight; as is the open living room and comfortable bed.

    Joe2020-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far one of our best air bnb we have been to. View is beautiful, everything you need in the house from pots to pans to a good sound bar and patio furniture. The house is decorated so cute and homey. Kelly answered fast and with hospitality. The value for this place should be higher then priced bc it’s worth it. Would buy this house and property if could.

    Brittney2020-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy place with a great view of the river.

    Vy2020-04-12T00:00:00Z

  • Kelly's cottage was amazing! She is also so kind. The cottage being right on the river made it so relaxing. The backyard is beyond amazing! The view to the river was so beautiful. Great privacy, location, and view. About 15 mins to Onalaska and La crosse. Easy to go to the store to buy essential needs. I will definitely book again in the summer. If I can give more than 5 stars, I would. Kelly is so easy going and she is amazing! Overall, it was a great mini getaway.

You will have access to hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing steps from your door. There are two public boat landings less than a mile away. This cabin has a full kitchen but if you prefer there are several restaurants nearby. Stay and experience all that "God's Country" has to offer. NEW: Wi-Fi Blu-ray/DVD player
Quiet lakefront residential area with lake access and USFWS hiking/biking trails across street. Near Great River State Bike Trail connecting to Trempealeau to the North and Onalaska to the South. Halfway Creek Bike Trail to Holmen also connecting to trails nearby. Public landings nearby for access to duck hunting. Winter sports enthusiasts who enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing will have a perfect jumping off point for their adventure.
  • This was a great little cabin. Fast WiFi was perfect for my week of working from the lake. The views from the dock are spectacular. One thing I didn’t realize (which wasn’t the fault of the host) is that the cabin isn’t secluded. There are other cabins and guests around. Again, not a bad thing, but something I didn’t realize when booking. Even still, I liked the space and would highly recommend!

    Sierra2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. We enjoyed the location -- incredible views overlooking the Mississippi and very convenient to driving to La Crosse, over the river to Minnesota, etc. Everything came as advertised with the cabin, including sweet touches like home-made cookies and chocolates waiting for us in the room. We did find a bit of dust in various spaces throughout the cabin, however, plus a leaky kitchen faucet. The bathroom, while tidy and functional, is also pretty small. It was fine for just the two of us, but as we looked at the second bedroom with twin beds, we had a hard time imagining staying here with children comfortably. The hosts were very prompt communicators, with plenty of information in the guest book about places to go and things to see in the area.

    Tim2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was wonderful! We have stayed in one of the cabins for three years in a row and will continue to come back. It's a great location, the space is perfect, and the hosts are wonderful to communicate with. We would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for something in the area (especially for those who like to ice fish).

  • This cabin was absolutely adorable and very clean. There was even a binder with local tips and places to go. It was basically right on the water as well! Enough parking for 2-3 cars, a great back porch area, comfy and clean bed. A Large TV with an amazon fire stick to watch all the shows you need. We enjoyed our stay very much! 10/10 would stay again

Escape to the quiet of The Larson Retreat. A turn of the century Sears craftsman home featuring hardwood floors and beautiful original woodwork throughout. Our house is pet friendly, with a large yard, and walk-able country roads surrounding. Located in the sleepy village of Gilmanton, in the heart of scenic Buffalo County and Amish country. We are a short walk to a local cafe, general store, and tavern. Amenities include brand new mattresses, cotton bedding, towels, tv, turntable and more.
  • The retreat was extremely clean and well kept. We enjoyed having a central location to travel to other cities around the area. Would definitely come back again.

  • This was the perfect home away from home for a busy wedding weekend. Very clean and nicely decorated. The property was beautiful, wish we would have had more time to spend on the front porch! Very thoughtful local snacks, the stocked fridge was a pleasant surprise 🙂

  • Robin's Larson Retreat is a quiet, clean and comfortable home. Robin is a thoughtful host and we had a pleasant stay. Fresh flowers and vegetables were very much appreciated. The location was a good one for us because we enjoyed day trips to the Chippewa Valley and Mississippi River towns, such as Eau Claire, Alma, and Winona. The hills, farms, rivers, woods, wetlands, trails and wineries were scenic and highly enjoyable.

There's a mirror with a dresser, TV, nightstands with charging stations for your electronics and a closet with hangers. Our house is a new-to-us 100 year old work in progress. We try to reflect this in our price. It does include steps that are on the steep side and one bathroom on the main floor that we all share.
Our house originally shows up on local tax records as far back as the 1850's. There have been some additions made along the way leaving a quirky old farmhouse. Our favorite feature is the window in the sitting room that opens up into the wall. Your private spaces are all finished but the common areas are getting a facelift.
We love our neighborhood. It's very quiet and easily walkable. Sidewalks are intermittent but has never been an issue. We are just 6 blocks off the water and within walking distance to many great eating establishments. We are three blocks from the gas stations in town.
  • Our bedroom and the shared bathroom were as clean and neat as a pin! This was the perfect place for a quick, overnight stay as we visited our favorite restaurant. Thank you Amanda, Matt and Aspen!

Rustic cabin in WI Driftless region. Unique rustic cordwood oasis. A perfect getaway for a writer, artist, musician or someone longing for peace and quiet. You'll have 2 small cordwood cabins. One is designed as a writer's retreat with a full size futon bed, large desk ergonomic Aeron chair. The other has a shower and kitchen. There's a composting toilet and cool shower. It's comfortable enough to be productive, but a bit rustic to create a unique experience to enhance your creativity.
Take relaxing hikes through the peaceful forest, or walk across the road and visit our thriving organic herb farm. Situated in the gorgeous rolling hills of Buffalo County Wisconsin, it’s easy to get here from The Twin Cities, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Rochester and more. The cabins are part of Crazy Rooster Farm and Amish Telephone Booth and Sacred Blossom Farm. A 60 acre Permaculture inspired farm with grazing cattle and medicinal herb production.
We're in a beautiful rural area with several neighboring Amish farms as well as other small working farms. It's a common area for motorcycle trips, cyclists and trout fisherman.
  • As described and Jeff was great. Place was quiet, peaceful, calm. Two friendly horses and a friendly cat and dog added to the experience. Was a bit cold in October and lots of flies in the cabin but other than that, was lovely.

  • I've taken a bit of time to write this review because I'm not sure where to start. I'm so glad I decided to book this cabin instead of going camping. My trip to this cabin was life altering. The communication with Jeff was SO timely and helpful. I felt like I was asking soo many questions, but he didn't even hesitate in answering all of them. I spent close to a few hours with Jeff when I arrived to the farm and it was such a lovely time. He's a really neat person that I'm so happy to have crossed paths with. There is so much magic on this land that the energy is truly palpable. The incredible tea farm that's run by an inspiring human, the horses, the farm dog [loba] and cat [tiger], the vast green hills and all the trees. It's a lot of beauty to take in, but in the absolute best way. I stayed for three nights and the cabin couldn't have been a more perfect space to be with myself. The futon was super comfortable, I didn't even end up using the desk because I found myself either outside or on the bed. The kitchen had everything I needed and more. I took an invigorating shower and it was so refreshing! Every part of this trip was memorable in a way that is so special. I can easily say this was my best Air bnb experience. I cannot wait to come back.

  • Everything about our stay went very smoothly. Jeff is really kind and quick to respond :)

  • This was a beautiful, peaceful, restful, healing place to visit. It was a bit rustic, but exactly what I expected. Jeff was a kind host and gave a great tour upon my arrival. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone needing some time alone to think, write, enjoy nature and has a bit of an adventuresome spirit.

  • This was perfect for what I needed, a quiet place to sit and think and write for a few days. You should come expecting a spartan cabin - no hot water, hot plate and toaster oven to cook, composting toilet - but if that's ok with you you'll love the space. The cabins are beautiful, the hosts very responsive, and being out in farm country is a nice change of pace. One tip - bring slip on shoes as you'll find yourself walking between the two cabins with some frequency.

  • This is one of the greatest places I’ve ever stayed, though not for anyone who needs anything resembling luxury. The sleeping/writing cabin is cozy and wonderful, and personally I enjoy having to stroll down the little hill outside to get to the kitchen and bathroom. Jeff’s farm is also lovely and currently has a very sweet dog and a kitten. Make sure to visit at least one pizza farm and the burger farm while you’re in the area!

  • If you seek solitude, this is the place! In short order I was able to shake off the stresses of my rat race life and resume normal breathing. And reading. And writing. Jeff was an excellent host. He answered all questions promptly and I especially appreciated his suggestion that I visit the Amish produce market just down the road. Thoreau had nothing on this place.
