  • Janine and her family were brilliant hosts, we were made to feel very welcome upon arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation itself was lovely, a good size, extremely clean and all very modern. We had everything we needed and it was also lovely to have some essentials in the fridge provided! Only small comment would be that there isn't much room for storing clothes but for a short stay this isn't too much of an issue! The area is perfect for a relaxing stay, close to both Ilkley centre and prime location for some nice walks. We would definitley recommend.

  • Lovely suite, just as in photos. Very clean and modern. Great location, within walking distance of Ilkley - recommend Filmore & Union cafe.

  • This is a lovely suite where you can really relax. There are so many thoughtful touches that made my stay a real pleasure. Janine and Paul achieve the perfect balance - friendly and helpful but sensitive to your privacy and independence.

  • We are so lucky to have stumbled onto Ilkley as a place to stay during our trip to the Yorkshire area. But we're even more lucky to have discovered Janine and Paul, and their wonderful, luxury hideaway! This is a unique experience to have such an ultra modern, beautiful place to stay, in such a quiet and peaceful setting surrounded by trees. We loved the fact that we could easily drive within minutes into some of the most beautiful countrysides we've ever seen. Or we could choose instead to walk down the hill into town and within minutes we were on a train to to the big city. One day we hiked up to the top of the hill and allowed ourselves to be carried away by the marvelous views overlooking the spectacular rural town. Janine and Paul are such wonderful sensitive hosts, and they are very good at sensing the mood of their guests. We were eager to interact with them, and they responded in kind by generously sharing very helpful suggestions for our stay, as well as just personal experiences living in the area. We absolutely felt that we were welcomed by family. They generously supplied us with food on our arrival, and Janine took the trouble to check with us ahead of time to find out if we had any dietary restrictions (which we do), so she accommodated her welcome foods to accommodate us. It was as if we had done the shopping ourselves, her choices were so perfect for us! If you have the good fortune to stay here, take full advantage of the location and all that it has to offer.

  • Janine came and met us and welcomed us into the suite and it was perfect for our weekend away - just like the pictures, such a good stay and the suite is a short walk, 5-10 minutes to Ilkley centre - which is lovely. Couldn't recommend it any more! Thank you Janine and Paul

    James2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our weekend away was an absolute delight. The room is sensational, everything is modern but with all the homely touches you could need. Janine was an excellent host and provided great suggestions for things to do in the local area. Would highly recommend! We will be back!

Our house is close to family-friendly activities, public transport, the train station, the town centre, Leeds airport and nightlife. You’ll love the location as it's 2 minutes walk to coffee houses, Booths supermarket, the Lido and Ilkley moor. We have town and country on our door step.
The rooms both have big windows so offer fantastic views across Ilkley rooftops and the moors. We only let out both rooms to friends or family so you won't be sharing the shower room with anybody else.
Great central location with Ilkley Cinema at the end of the road and the Lido a walk across the river. Good cycling and on the Tour de Yorkshire route. The iconic Cow and Calf rocks can be viewed from the window and the historic White Wells Spa, built in 1703, is a short walk away. The famous Betty's tea rooms are a 5 walk away, selling fab food and drinks.
  • A fantastic, kind and considerate host. I would highly recommend to others, and have already returned for a second stay.

  • Excellent accommodation, private room on top floor - shared bathroom, but only guest. Very close to the train station and centre of town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Well provided for, very comfortable room. Phillipa and Rod were very kind and made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Were extremely accommodating and friendly, even offering to buy free-from products for me! Would definitely stay again if I'm ever in Ilkley, and I fully recommend this as a great place to stay.

  • Spotless, good central location tucked up a quiet residential street. Made to feel Very welcome and free run of the house kitchen with a laid on tasty continental breakfast. Highly recommended

  • Philippa made us feel very welcome and at home. Her place is lovely and I loved the bed (very comfy mattress). Communication and check in/out were very smooth. We loved her home made jams! Location is super central. Shops and restaurants are nearby as well as very nice hiking places. We didn't have a car but still enjoyed different activities. I'll definitely recommend her place and we'll be back when we go there next time.

    Mari2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very enjoyable experience! Phillipa and Rod are very hospitable and nice. The house is decorated elegantly. They recommend places nearby for us and even drove us to the Cow and Calf Rock which had brilliant view! We took photos together before leaving! Hope to see u again!

This is glamping at its very best, get away from it all, and digital detox, in this luxury heated compact Snoozy Owl Pod, with your own modern equipped kitchen, ensuite, luxurious double bed, quality bed linen, bathrobes, towels, blackout blinds, double sofa bed and your own patio area! Spend a wonderful 2 nights or more in one of my unique Pods with a woodland view. Check availability on my other listings, Sleepy Squirrel Pod and Cosy Cottontail Studio Apartment. No Cleaning fee - just trust.
The Snoozy-Owl Pod has all the amenities of the Sleepy Squirrel Pod and much more! More; is a larger pod with a larger living space which can accommodate a sofa bed to create a living area. Enjoy moonlight and star gazing in this Eco pod with all the luxury of a five star apartment! This pod has a compact kitchen, table and chairs for cosy dining, double bed and double sofa bed, an ensuite bathroom with a quadrant shower, constant supply of hot running water and a mains lavatory, electric radiators, little electric stove and a heated blanket:) In the spirit of "getting away from it all " the pod does not have a TV but I do provide a radio, books and games Please note: that WiFi is available on the front porch of the pod and the surrounding areas, the signal doesn't seem to permeate the 2 layers of solid wood, layer of foil or the wool insulation. If you require full WIFI signal and SKY Catchup TV, see my other listing "King bed with Ensuite and full english breakfast" in the main Lodge. Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, and a child or small adult on the sofa bed. Bedding for the sofa bed is stored under the ottoman double bed. There's enough room for a cot bed and I can provide this if required. The pod is made of larch wood, and insulated with a good layer of wool, there's also a layer of foil to help keep you Cosy and warm, or cool if soaring summer temperatures need to be kept in check... But this is Yorkshire so we live in hope:)) there's a double glazed bespoke circular door and a picture window overlooking woodland, this provides you with good natural lighting and air circulation. You will find plenty of coat hooks for walking jackets, a single wardrobe with drawers and a hairdryer. There's head height of 2.5m which gives a feeling of space, unlike the great outdoor tents. The pod is self catering, a local supermarket is just a short walk. Although, in the fridge and on the shelves you will find milk, orange juice, bread/crumpets, homemade jam and marmalade, butter and a good selection of coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates to help you relax! These are complimentary just enjoy :) There are plenty of books and a radio in the pod. The pod has a stone patio area with a table and chairs for you to have breakfast or a late night star gazing experience... Guests are asked politely not to smoke or light candles, the structure is made entirely of wood, therefore for safety reasons naked flames are not allowed under any circumstances . For ambiance I can provide you with some LED flickering tea lights. Please note: I do not charge a cleaning fee, instead I trust that you will look after my little Snoozy Owl Pod. The prices quoted are weekdays Monday to Thursday, the price increases slights for Friday and Saturday bookings.
The immediate area is extremely quiet and peaceful, my home is adjacent to a woodland, and a very pretty open (not spooky) cemetery with two beautiful Gothic chapels, one faces North and one South, neither of which are used for any ecclesiastical purposes, but have been converted into office space. The cemetery is used regularly throughout the day and into the evening by dog walkers, and walkers wanting to take a leisurely stroll along the river, or cross the bridge to Middleton Woods (known by locals as Bluebell Woods). From the bedroom window squirrels can be seen scurrying up and down nearby trees, rabbits can be watched playing at dawn and dusk and there's also an owl that can sometimes be heard hooting at night. The pod is in my garden with lawns patios, flowerbeds, trees and the sleeping area overlooks the adjacent woodland. My home is near a Yorkshire Water plant, only water is filtered here to produce drinkable clean water, and any odorous waste is removed and treated at a plant 12 miles away. The wind predominantly blows south to easterly along the river Wharfe, which is in the opposite direction of my home and downstream towards Burley in Wharfedale. Ashlands Road is also the home of the award winning micro brewery "Ilkley Brewery" a bottle of Mary Jane is highly recommended! Although the Pod is self catering, I have left you a supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates, homemade Jam and Cardamom Marmalade, crumpets, fresh milk in the fridge, enough to start your break. The local independent supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.
  • Amazing little Pod and great location. We had a wonderful stay and Michele was the perfect host. Would recommend to anyone and can't wait to go back.

  • We had a lovely weekend in the sleepy owl pod. The place was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The town is just a short walk away with lots of bars and restaurants. The host really has thought of everything. The homemade jam was gorgeous and the breakfast items a nice touch. We would highly recommend.

    Clare2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, quiet, friendly, nice place and away from noisy traffic. Highly commendable!

    Yvonne2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little pod that's generously kitted out with everything you need! Very close to the centre of Ilkley with wonderful walking locations and fantastic scenery. Really enjoyed our stay, excellent host, I cannot recommend the pod enough!

    CRAIG2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We love Mechele and her pods! Mechele is a friendly and warm host who has created two wonderfully stylish lodges close to the centre of Ilkley. The setting is lovely and each pod enjoys the use of its own small patio area with table and chairs. The pods are spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. We stayed in Sleepy Squirrel and our friends in Snoozy Owl. Mechele provided everything we needed for a perfect short stay. We found our bed to be extremely comfortable, as did our friends. Both beds were made up with great quality linens and blankets and an electric blanket for those chillier nights. There was plenty of hot water for the lovely ensuite showers. The kitchen areas are very well equipped. Mechele thoughtfully left items in both fridges including homemade jam and marmalade along with jars of biscuits and sweets. Can’t recommend the whole experience of staying with Mechele enough!

    Steven2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay, very cozy and easy walking distance from Ilkley center, while being a quiet peaceful location to sleep in! Mechele is a warm and friendly host, who makes excellent jam and has done the pod up in a stylish and homely way! Recommend very highly!

    Rebecca2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous little find, very close to town and lots of walks to do. Mechele very welcoming and we will be back soon

    Vicki2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mechele is a brilliant host and clearly takes great pride in going above and beyond to make sure her guests are comfortable! Her communication was quick and the pod itself was so cosy, with lots of extra little touches so you had everything you could possibly need! Mechele brought out blankets, cheese and homemade chutney when we were having a barbecue and was great at keeping up the secret of my fiance's brother and sister in law hiding in the opposite pod as a surprise! The pods are situated close to Ilkley with a 10 minute stroll through the church graveyard and along the river to get to the town, where there are lovely pubs and restaurants. We also followed one of Mechele's recommended walks from the pod to the Cow and Calf on the moors, ending with a couple of pints of Landlord in the pub at the top of the hill! A brilliant base for a very cosy and relaxing weekend in Yorkshire. We would recommend to anyone. Thank you Mechele!

  • I had a great weekend Ilkley, it was such a pleasure to arrive back each evening to Graham's comfortable home and the lovely spacious bedroom.

  • We had a lovely stay with Graham and Joanne. Ilkley and its surrounding areas were beautiful. Very close to the station and Graham and Jo were helpful, friendly and very hospitable - they make a great cuppa. Whilst in the area, very worthwhile getting up to the cow and calf - great recommendation from the hosts. Would stay again and definitely recommend.

  • Sandra was exceptionally accommodating when I wanted to check in early and this was possible. The Flat is exactly as described. A gem

    James2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. The house is about a ten minute walk from the centre of Ilkley in a quiet residential street. Arrival and departure were both very smooth. In terms of the house itself the pictures don't really do it justice. The property is clean, comfortable, spacious and full of character. Would recommend without hesitation.

  • This is a large property with an extremely comfortable bed and a great real fire and enormous Tvs, we would be happy to stay here again

    Ellie2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sandra's place. The flat is really big and beautifully decorated and furnished. Sandra made us feel very welcome in Ilkley and gave us good directions for how to find her place. She greeted us at the doorstep and showed us around. I highly recommend staying at Sandra's as it is a great location to explore the beautiful surrounding area.

  • Another lovely stay at Sandra's flat in ilkley! It is so comfy and such an ideal location!

    Alexa2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a trying afternoon (having to negotiate rush hour traffic in Manchester) and were happy to be stopping in Ilkley for the night! Sandra was available to greet us and show us around the flat. Note that there is currently scaffolding all around the building and only street parking. Also, a previous guest broke the bedroom TV - but we were too tired to watch it anyway. The bed is comfortable and the flat spacious. Coffee drinkers should note that current options are instant (look in kitchen cabinet) or a single serve coffee press (bring your own coffee). Wi-Fi coverage is very weak; it only works in the living room.

    David2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Sandra's flat. The flat itself is lovely, and is really well located; it's both close to the town centre and a great place to stay to go for walks in the dales. Sandra was a great host - very welcoming, helpful and knowledgable about the area, and easy to contact beforehand. We didn't want to leave!

Our home is within walking distance of the historic spa town of Ilkley, the beautiful River Wharfe and the famous moors. You’ll love my place because it's so close to all that Ilkley and The Yorkshire Dales have to offer! My place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
Our home is a gorgeous Victorian terraced house in walking distance of the spa town of Ilkley. Set on three floors with each room providing a stylish, cosy, family feel. The ground floor comprises of a hallway leading to the light and airy living room with exposed floors and original fireplace. There is a stylish kitchen with freestanding units, Belfast sink, lovely pine dresser and large dining table for leisurely breakfasts and evening meals. The stairs lead to a large double bedroom, beautiful spacious family bathroom with a gorgeous Victorian roll top bath and separate shower. Relax and unwind after a day shopping or walking. The toilet is conveniently separate - so no need to be disturbed once your in the bath! On the third floor there are two single rooms one of which has a dormer window wit a view of the moors. Outdoors there is a small front and back yard with seating areas and pretty planting. Parking is on road, front and back.
The house is set a short walk from the busy town centre, the railway station and all local amenities. Ilkley was a Victorian spa town for "taking the air" and the local water and still has a well high up on the moor itself. The town is home to the famous Betty's Tea Rooms - an absolute must for visitors. It also has a selection of pretty shops and many lovely restaurants, cafes and bars. For those who prefer a larger variety of shopping, the vibrant city of Leeds and spa town of Harrogate are easily accessible by train or road. Leeds boasts a Harvey Nicholls store and hundreds of stylish shops in the many renovated arcades and shopping malls. Both have a huge selection of restaurants and bars - you'll be spoilt for choice. For the outdoor types there is far too much to do! Within walking distance of the house (all be it uphill) is Ilkley moor, dominated by the Cow and Calf rocks, the views from the top are truly breathtaking. The Yorkshire Dales are easily accessible, whether you want to follow the trail of the 2015 Tour de France or walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks you'll find it all close by. Bolton Abbey is a fabulous day of easy walking for families, or stay closer to home and walk along the river to the open air swimming pool. Whatever you choose to do there is something for everyone in the area, I guarantee you'll love it!
  • Cabb was a great host - we felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay in the house. Good communication and clear instructions. Perfectly equipped for our needs, comfortable and well styled, we were all able to relax after our days out. Good location in Ilkley and close to everything we needed. Thank you Cabb :)

The bathroom is a particular treat (slipper bath, chunky towels, candles) and the kitchen is a lovely space with everything you might need. The sitting room is cosy and comfortable. Located just a few minutes walk from the bustle of Ilkley, the house is calm and quiet with lovely views of the Moors from the upper floors. All in all wonderful and highly recommended.

The room is on the third floor of our Victorian terraced house which has an open living area with tea and coffee-making facilities and a shower room, all for guests only.
We are easy to find as we are on the edge of Ilkley and our front garden runs down to the main road to the Lakes. There is on-street parking near our rear access lane. Despite the main road, the room is quiet. Ilkley town centre is a 15-minute walk away and it has two supermarkets, many independent shops, a range of restaurants and cafes, pubs (the nearest is a five-minute walk and serves great food) - and even has a new boutique cinema.

  • We had a lovely few days stay - the apartment was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It suited us well being close to walk to shops, restaurants and the moor but with good bike rides from the door available. Kathryn pointed us in the direction of the local bike shop and had obtained some information about routes for us. She was very helpful and prompt to my enquirers before and during our visit. We would certainly consider visiting again.

  • From the moment I was greeted by Jo and her husband, I felt welcomed and cared for. Their home is absolutely stunning with a warm and loving feel throughout. The decor is a perfect balance between elegant sophistication and homely-comforts. The room is beautiful, much larger, brighter and comfier than I had pictured. The bed and duvet was luxurious! The bathroom is another stunner - with a huge shower and grand tub, with lots of greenery, heart shaped stones and perfect lighting. It really had 5 star feel throughout. There are so many gorgeous little touches throughout, and at times I just felt like I was in a calm space in heaven! Jo and hubby are very caring and put a lot of effort into ensuring I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I was touched by how much love was clearly present. The location couldn't be more perfect - extremely central and easy to find. Jo's directions to the house was perfect and easy to follow, which was much appreciated after the long 5 hour journey that preceded! I feel very lucky to have stayed in Jo's home and I'm already planning a trip in the summer to stay again and explore the moors! Thank you both for everything!

A EU king size bed in an ensuite room with TV in our home close to the river in Ilkley, within close walking distance of the town, restaurants, bars, theatres and cinema, and close to the moors and the Dalesway walk and Millennium way. Breakfast is provided for guests but not catered for. The room is ensuite with a shower, toilet and sink. The ensuite has a shaver/toothbrush charger point. The bed is 3 " wider and 3" longer than a UK King bed so plenty of space for a comfy nights sleep!
You are welcome to join us for a cuppa and a chat, or relax on your own, whatever suits you best. Our home is in a quiet street, and we are a quiet, non-smoking household. You can help yourself to hot drinks any time, and we can help recommend walks, restaurants, bars and local activities.
The house is in a quiet street close to the river, handy for town, restaurants, bars and theatres. Our house is very close to the start of the Dalesway walk, and a 5 minute drive from the famous Cow and Calf rocks. The house has on street parking; it doesn't have permit parking, and it is usually possible to get parked very close to the house. The bedroom is at the back of the house overlooking a field of geese, so if you are very light sleeper you might like to bring earplugs!

Ilkley is a really nice place so do make sure you take time to browse the shops, relax in the bars or eat in some of fabulous restaurants. We can highly recommend the Aagrah and The Vine. The Cow and Calf are nearby and well worth a visit and it doesn't take long to get to the top if you're reasonably agile, the views are great.

Beautiful Old Gothic Lodge in a quiet location just a stroll away from the picturesque Spa Town with lots to do and see just a short walk away along the river. The room is luxurious yet cosy with everything you need. My home is surrounded by lawns, patios, flowerbeds, trees and the patio can used to have your breakfast on or just sit outside when the sun shines with a glass or a hot drink. You will find tea and coffee in your room, should you wish to dine in you will find an amazing local independent and well stocked supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.

  • Jane's place is extremely classy. It is located in a super neighbourhood of this very cute and interesting town. I was not there in daylight but there are obviously lovely views over the famous moor. Jane welcomed me with chat and a cuppa, ensured I was properly settled in and also provided super breakfasts and even packed lunches! The room I was in is extremely comfortable with ensuite shower room. For me (staying on business) it is important to be able to pop a few things in the fridge. In summary, the place to stay and Jane's hosting are both highly recommended.

This is a compact ground floor, stylish fully equipped Cosy Cottontail Studio Apartment. There is a luxurious double bedroom with a bespoke upholstered double bed, new ensuite , freeview TV, DVD, Radio, USB charger & speaker, fully equipped modern kitchen, sofa, dining table and chairs. Wi-Fi, quality bed linen, bathrobes, and fluffy towels. A complimentary selection of teas, coffee, biscuits provided for you to enjoy a relaxed stay (min 1 night) in this unique peaceful private apartment.
The Cosy Cottontail Studio Apartment has everything you will need to enjoy a break in glorious Ilkley. Your own private secure entrance and private space with luxurious double bed, and newly refurbished ensuite shower room, fully equipped modern kitchen, free Wi-Fi, Freeview TV, walk in wardrobe, shelving, dining area and sofa. Enjoy moonlight and star gazing in this luxury five star ground floor apartment! Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, there is room for a cot or Zed Bed in the kitchen area, but this really essentially sleeps 2 adults and an infant. A cot can be provided if required. The apartment is private and secure and was formerly part of my family home.
The neighbourhood The immediate area is extremely quiet and peaceful, my home is adjacent to a woodland, and a very pretty open (not spooky) cemetery with two beautiful Gothic chapels, one faces North and one South, neither of which are used for any ecclesiastical purposes, but have been converted into trendy office space. The cemetery is used regularly throughout the day and into the evening by walkers, and is a short cut to the river Wharfe. Take a romantic leisurely stroll along the river, or cross the bridge to Middleton Woods (known by locals as Bluebell Woods). From the bedroom window squirrels can be seen scurrying up and down nearby trees, rabbits can be watched playing at dawn and dusk and there's also a pair of owls that can sometimes be heard hooting at night. The main house is adjacent to the apartment, and its known as the Old Lodge, I love my home, and find the peace and tranquility of the location brings me and my visitors great joy. The wind predominantly blows south to easterly along the river Wharfe, which is in the opposite direction of my home and downstream towards Burley in Wharfedale. There is a Yorkshire Water plant close by, although only the top water is processed here and filtered several times to produce drinkable clean water, any odorous waste is removed and treated at a plant more than 12 miles. My home is also close to the home of the award winning microbrewery "Ilkley Brewery" a bottle of their very own Mary Jane is highly recommended!
  • Mechele couldn't have been a better host. There was a slight change in arrangements, we were offered a private room instead of the self-contained flat she also lets, but it was very comfortable and we were given good notice a couple of weeks before. Her house is only ten minutes walk or less along the river into town. Excellent breakfast and good conversation. Thanks!

  • Great little cosy property. Has everything you need and is nearby the town centre of Ilkley. Nice touches such as homemade preserves, biscuits etc on the side was a welcome addition for a very weary traveller. Will stay again.

    Jack2017-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • The flat really is very dinky, but I was staying by myself so this was fine! It was well set-up, easy and self-contained. Not too far from the centre of town, and you can walk straight on to the stunning Ilkley moor - Mechele has a binder full of walking routes which is really helpful (though you'll want an OS map/app too for some of them!) The flat's nicely furnished, very comfy bed. The wi-fi could be a little erratic. One very nice touch was that Mechele left crumpets, fruit loaf, tea/coffee, butter, milk, juice and jam - as well as sweets and biscuits! - in the flat which is really helpful and very welcoming.

    Holly2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to retreat to this cosy, clean and stylish place after a day of socialising with friends and family. The crumpets and homemade jam for breakfast were a real treat and the sweeties and biscuits in the jars a luxury. The shower was powerful and the bed very comfortable. We loved the fluffy towels and robes. A very stylish private annexe with everything you need for a quiet break. Highly recommended. Thank you Mechele.

  • Well where do we start? Firstly this is the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in! Starting with our arrival, Mechele was there to greet us,and showed us round the cosy cottontail apartment and explained that she hadn't let this out on Airbnb for some time as she had decided to refurbish it!! The refurbished is amazing! Scrumptiously comfortable stylish upholstered bed! With chocolates on the pillows:))) Tastefully decorated throughout and Mechele has thought of absolutely everything! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and Mechele's generous provisions were much more than we expected... sweeties and biscuits ...yummy homemade jam and marmalade with hot toasted crumpets perfect for our breakfast! The power shower and bathrobes were just what we needed after long walk across Ilkley moor. There's a house manual that's loaded with information on the area and how to get the most from your stay, there's also maps and games to keep you amused! We decided to take the recommend 10-15 romantic walk along the river into Ilkley town for diner, great local Michelin starred restaurant! Ilkley is a really pretty town with a great many shops, cafes, and restaurants to suit all tastes. If you fancy a stroll and a beverage there are some excellent bars and real ale pubs close by, they even have a sofa cinema! A Wonderful few days away with my wife. We can highly recommend Mechele's place as the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in, with a super charming and helpful host!! We will be back!

  • We booked the Cosy Cottontail studio for a long weekend - hubby had a couple of days doing his own mini Tour de Yorkshire & then we had a few days walking and visiting the local area. The studio was just what we needed....cosy, peaceful and perfect location for Ilkley town centre. Mechele is a most attentive host.....lots of little touches to enhance our stay. Will certainly recommend to friends & family.

Two double rooms in self-contained top floor with living space and shower room
The third floor of our Victorian terraced house has two generous-sized double rooms, an open living area with tea and coffee-making facilities and a shower room, all for guests only. We will only take one booking at a time - for up to four people - so if there are only two of you, you will not be sharing the space with strangers.
We are easy to find as we are on the edge of Ilkley and our front garden runs down to the main road to the Lakes. There is on-street parking near our rear access lane. Despite the main road, both rooms are quiet, particularly Bedroom 1. Ilkley town centre is a 15-minute walk away and it has two supermarkets, many independent shops, a range of restaurants and cafes, pubs (the nearest is a five-minute walk and serves great food) - and even has a new boutique cinema.
  • Great place to stay with a friendly host and lovely location near the main road with parking nearby and easy access to Ilkely. My room was perfect, great lighting and very comfortable. Tasty breakfast too. Loved it. I will definitely be booking again next time I’m in Ilkely.

  • Wonderful room and facilities. Highly recommended.

  • We were made to feel very welcome in Paul and Geraldine's wonderful family home. We had the top floor to ourselves - two wonderful bedrooms, a communal space and bathroom. We had a comfotable and quiet night's stay. They had thoughtfully provided tea and coffee making facilities and were very happy to offer advice about the local area. The icing on the cake was a delightful bowl of homemade granola for breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

    Catherine2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed here for one night because we were going to Yarndale in Skipton the next day. The location suited us perfectly with the bus stop practically outside the front door and the accommodation is very well placed for easy access to both the town centre in Ilkley and transport to Skipton. Our hosts, Paul and Geraldine, were very friendly and welcoming and they created a pleasant, relaxed environment for us with comfortable, spotlessly clean accommodation on a self-contained floor. They were also helpful in providing us with local information on buses and places to eat. The breakfast was ample and delicious and we would particularly recommend the homemade granola. It was easy to communicate with Paul and his written directions for reaching the house were spot on. As it turned out we were their very first Airbnb guests they were keen to know they'd got it right. They certainly did!

    Krysia2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The host were very friendly. The rooms were clean and warm. Exactly what we needed. In a good location for easy access to town centre. Would recommend to others, and return myself.

  • Orchard Cottage is a lovely, very well equipped cottage on a complex 10 minutes walk from the lovely market town of Ilkley. Tim came round to say hello when we arrived and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. A lovely homemade cake was waiting for us in the kitchen along with tea, coffee and milk. We made full use of the hot tub and the BBQ and even met the pigs and chickens! A lovely area of the country to visit and a lovely cottage to stay in - we hope to return soon!

A very large double room on the top floor of my home in Ilkley. It has a standard double bed, sitting area, and tea and coffee making facilities (tea & coffee provided). Two Velux windows are fitted with blackout blinds and although the house is situated on a fairly busy road, it is a quiet and private room. The house bathroom (shared with the hosts) is on the floor below. Wi-fi and workspace with USB points. Light breakfast is provided - cereal, toast, tea & coffee etc.
My home is on the outskirts of Ilkley and it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk into town. There are numerous restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, cafes and independent shops and the town is surrounded by beautiful countryside for walkers. Ilkley hosts the Aegon tennis tournament, the Ilkley Literature Festival, a beer festival and a month-long summer festival which includes a continental market - lots of things to see and do. In May 2018, the town is host to the Tour de Yorkshire, a major cycling race which has become a regional highlight following the success of the Tour de France in Yorkshire in 2014.
  • Very accessible, high standard accommodation, beautiful bathroom, a large and quiet 2nd floor bedroom, very comfortable bed, and all the required provisions in place, including a welcome tea and coffee. Excellent friendly Yorkshire welcome. Recommended.

Bolton Abbey hosts fishing lessons, and of course there is plenty of horse riding to be done. Bring your own bike - and we can keep it securely in the house.

I will be back!

  • Andree was an amazing host. You get the impression that she really cares about her guests and creating a fantastic experience. And she goes out of her way to do that - from the biscuits with the cuppa on arrival, to giving us a lift into town for our friend's party, to the huge amount of breakfast options and the quality of the food and the amenities that she provides. She's great to chat too as well. It was more like visiting a friend than staying at a B&B. Would love to come back and stay for longer.

    Julia2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was a great host, the house is set in a beautiful location and is beautiful itself inside and out. The breakfasts were great and enough to fill one up till the evening. It was lovely to sit in front of a log fire the evenings.

  • Andree is a wonderful host, very talkative and helpful. The property is huge and really nice with great views of the area. As an added bonus the breakfast was fantastic with lots of options that kept us full up all day! If you're looking for somewhere to stay around the dales this is a great option that I would recommend highly.

  • A real home from home, Lynn made us so welcome. The rooms are spotlessly clean. We were visiting Ilkley for a wedding, my daughter, son-in-law and 10 month old grandson. Lynn was so kind entertaining the baby whilst we ate the delicious cooked breakfast that she made for us. We highly recommend her lovely home.

  • I had a lovely stay at Lynn's place, she was very helpful, friendly and patient in responding to my queries prior to arrival. The room was up a couple of flights of stairs (which is fine for me as I don't have any mobility issues), very clean and comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep. Lynn went out of her way to give me a lift in the morning to the conference venue, as it was raining and I would have been soaked if I had to walk. A very nice and relaxing stay overall

    Masha2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn having shown us our room offered us tea after a long drive which was great. She explained where and what we could have for breakfast and told us to help ourselves. She offers a fabulous and very generous cooked English breakfast. The room is comfortable and has everything you would expect including a hair dryer. The location is great for accessing walks, but it is easy to get into town for restaurants and pubs, and the train station isn't far. As a host Lynn has a warm and generous personality which definitely made for a very pleasant stay and I would certainly stay again.

  • Wonderful spot in Ilkley, Yorkshire. The garden gate opens out onto the famous Ilkley moor, ideal for mountain biking, walking, running, and filling your lungs with fresh air. Jane is a very capable host, catering to our every need throughout the weekend stay. Even better, she provides a continental breakfast in the morning which was a massive help and much appreciated. Make sure you try the marmalade! The room is spacious, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. It was very quiet (other than the owl sat in the adjacent tree!) and, with the superb mattress, meant an excellent night’s sleep. Highly recommended and we will be returning soon!

  • I had a truly wonderful stay with Jane and Mike in Ilkley. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance to the centre of Ilkley but the garden also backs directly onto Ilkley Moor with its views and walking - what a location! The rooms were well presented, comfortable and spotless. Both Jane and Mike couldn't have been more helpful with local knowledge (they've lived in the area for 20+years) and also making me feel really at home. I cant recommend a stay here highly enough and will certainly be returning, a hidden gem in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside!

  • Very well located, up the hill from the train station in 10-15 minutes. I know this a new Airbnb, so there were a few teething issues but nothing that wasn't resolved and without an apology from the owner. Living room could perhaps do with a rejig, as the sofas are ambitiously big for the space. Otherwise, perfect for a short stay with basic amenities provided.
