Places to stay in Mineral Point
Located in the heart of historic downtown Mineral Point, this cozy 1 bedroom apartment is the ideal respite for your getaway or business travel. Built in 1902 as a luxurious hotel, the Royal Inn is now home to private apartments, a coffee house and a Southwestern Bar and Grille. This charming 2nd floor space offers a delightful blend of old world charm and modern amenities coupled with the experience of one of Wisconsin's best and oldest little towns.

The apartment is located in the Old Royal Inn, right in the heart of downtown, historic Mineral Point. Steps away from galleries, bars, restaurants, museums, and charming shops... all is within walking distance.
  • Richard's place is really charming! It's fantastic that there's a cafe and restaurant on the first floor. We loved having WiFi, Netflix and Amazon Prime available. It's located right in the middle of downtown Mineral Point, with cute shops, restaurants, and bars all within walking distance. Whether you're coming in the summer to check out the town, or looking for a winter getaway, Richard's place is perfect for a long weekend.

  • Richard was incredibly communicative prior to our stay and the apartment was just what my wife and I needed! We attended an event at the opera house, so the location of the apartment couldn’t be beat! If we are in the area again, we will absolutely be staying here.

  • Perfect space for a couple's stay. Enjoyed the bright space and historic building immensely, and it was awesome going right downstairs for tasty meals. Though not the owner's fault, the building has noisy tenants and pipes, so you may want to bring earplugs if you're an early to bed, early to rise traveler. Hope to return to this rental in the summer - can't beat the location or the nice coffee in the kitchen!

    Kimberly2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay in Mineral Point. The space is clean and comfortable, and you are close to everything. A bonus is the two great restaurants within the same building.

    Emily2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice apartment with a great location in the heart of Mineral Point. It stayed nice and warm during a cold Wisconsin Christmas. There's a cafe and Mexican Restaurant downstairs, both of which are great and extremely convenient. The bed is comfy, but I recommend that light sleepers bring earplugs--the building is historical and the walls are thin.

    Gabriella2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A charming unit with a great location to the town's shops, eateries and an enjoyable trail. The cafe and restaurant downstairs were delicious and so convenient. We would highly recommend this place for your visit to Mineral Point.

  • As first time user of Airbnb, I wasn't sure what to expect. When we got to the Royal Apartment, it was a nice, clean, and attractive place to stay. I love the location! We was short distance from where we want to go. Richard was a very gracious host. He stated that if there was anything we needed just contact him. Overall it was a very lovely time!

    Daniel2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • I loved Richard’s place! Check in/check out was very easy, the place is right upstairs from two great restaurants, and within walking distance of many other stores and restaurants. People in Mineral Point were very friendly - it was like being in Mayberry! Everyone talked to us, even though we were from out of town. Parking was easy and free. The space was really cute, well decorated and very clean! I’ve stayed in lots of air bnbs and this was definitely one of my favorites so far!

  • This was my first Airbnb experience and it was absolutely wonderful. I fell completely in love with the home and the town. The photos really do not do this property justice. Christina was great and accommodated our last moment reservation. Look forward to staying again :)

  • I have stayed at the cottage several times now and each time it is a wonderfully consistent experience and Etienne is a gracious host. I will definitely stay again when I travel and need to stay locally.

    Andrea2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay.

    Eric2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Etienne made us feel welcome with so many personal touches. We felt like we were visiting the home of a favorite friend. The cottage decor is classy casual and the farm style kitchen invites you to consider preparing something tasty. It was a very chilly day in November so we could not enjoy the yard but did enjoy the bright sun streaming in the living room as it rose over the hill in the morning. Mineral Point vibrant community in the heart of the Driftless Regiin. and Heartsong Cottage i has a great location near the galleries, Shakerag Center for the Arts and Pendarvus. We will be returning again soon! Thank you.

  • This cottage is lovely, clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. It is about a half mile from downtown and right across from a park. It is an older, charming house, but do expect steep stairs up to the front door and up to the third bedroom upstairs. We had no issues with steep stairs but some people might. The hot water was great, never ran out for our group of three. Nice dishes, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, utensils, pots and pans are all available. There’s a good sized living room with a comfortable couch and chairs. We had wine and conversation well into the night in that space. Very, very quiet as well. I would definitely stay there again!

    Katie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great weekend getaway spot, if escaping the city bustle or just seeking some nature/adventure. Very cozy spot to unwind, unplug, but still be just a hop and skip away from many historical spots, hiking, dining, and more. No TV = no problem! Bringing our portable bluetooth speaker, the fire pit and fireplace (wood burning stove) made for a nice way to conclude a couple of days hiking and adventuring around the driftless areas of WI and the scenic drives in between. Check-in/check-out process and overall communication with the wonderful host was seamless. Loved the personal touches, too. Hope to travel back again sooner than later!

    Kelli2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This year was our 13th girls weekend and our first time renting an Airbnb. HeartSong Cottage was a perfect location, very comfortable and only a 5 minute drive to the center of town. Kitchen had everything we needed for the meals we ate at the cottage. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were. We spent hours in the comfort of the living area getting caught up and laughing without worrying about disturbing anyone else. Etienne checked in with us daily to make sure we didn’t need anything. We all loved it!

    Melody2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Etienne's Heartsong Cottage is lovely. I spent a working weekend free from normal distractions and enjoying the luxury of this charming space. I highly recommend! Plan to stay in Mineral Point for your next weekend away by booking this cute rental. Etienne, thank you for everything.

Springside is perhaps the oldest operating guest house in Mineral Point. Built between 1843 and 1847 by Cornish merchant John Tregaskis it was renovated back in the 1940's by Bob Neil and Edgar Hellum to be a guest house for Pendarvis. They called it Newlyn House. This wonderful little house continues to welcome guests.
Springside Cottage is made up of two private units (Side 1 and Side 2), and is located on Shake Rag street, just a short walk from everything. Most of the photos are from Side 2, unless otherwise indicated.
Springside is within easy walking distance to Mineral Point's galleries and pubs. Shake Rag Alley is across the street.

Make yourself at home in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. The spacious main room at Tuckpoint is decorated with handmade ceramic sculpture, early Mineral Point photographs, handsome stone walls, and beautiful stained glass. The private bedroom features an array of multi-colored 1930s windows on one wall with a pleasant view from the comfortable queen bed. Tuckpoint is sure to delight you and a guest with unusual and rare finds dating back to the Cornish settlers and Mineral Point's mining days.
The bathroom features an antique corner sink and mirror made from an old iron scale. Between the claw-foot tub and the modern shower stall is a remarkable wall of masonry "finds," including fossils, arrowheads, unusual bricks and stone, even lead from the old Mineral Point mines, all collected and mortared into place by the mason whose stone retaining walls enliven the gardens outside. The kitchen includes a microwave, toaster, coffee pot, and mini-fridge and is fully stocked with dishes and silverware. A stove-top hot plate, pots and pans, and a tea kettle are stored in the kitchen cabinets for your use.

Within walking distance are Pendarvis — the Wisconsin Historic Site featuring a series of early 19th-century cottages built by Cornish immigrants — and Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts, our magical campus of historic buildings and lush gardens that serve as classrooms for arts and crafts workshops and event spaces for community and private celebrations.

The apartment has so many cool touches, and not only is there a booklet to guide you at home, but if you wander downtown Mineral Point you will see where the art came from and find many others with a love for found objects and the arts. Books galore, a great fireplace, a rocking chair, and proximate to Madison as well as beautiful state parks and back roads of the Driftless region with its amazing rock formations!

  • Thanks to Airbnb, we get to experience amazing places like this one! We really loved staying in the Tuckpoint Garden Suite! I wasn't sure before we arrived whether or not there was something for cooking (there is an electric cooktop that worked great!) and a shower (yes there is... in addition to the tub). If you love artful, one-of-a-kind spaces chalk full of expressions of love and creativity, you will love staying here! Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such an artful space, Sara! • Had a wonderful stay at Daniel's. Everything was perfect!

    Barb2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chestnut Cottage was such a special place to spend a weekend. Even though the weather was cold it was warm and cosy inside. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the rooms have been decorated to very high standards. Would love to spend more time here again soon.

    Greta2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cottage is both historic but charming with a perfect, central location. The cottage was thoughtfully outfitted with adorable details and lots of art from local artists from Mineral Point. There are lots of amenities such as water in the fridge, coffee in the kitchen, soap & towels in the bathroom, etc. The owners really thought everything through with this air bnb! The porch is the perfect serene location to sit in the morning and watch the sun come up. The beds were extremely comfortable! Overall, the cottage just felt like home. Sad we couldn’t stay longer. Would also highly recommend cafe 43 for breakfast which is literally a block away. The host was very nice and responsive!

    Arlene2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Boy when previous reviews said that this place is a short walk from everything the town of Mineral Point has to offer, they weren't kidding! A cafe, deli and a few bars are literally right around the corner! But NO NOISE! Yay! Perfect place for a couple or couple with one child or 2 friends since one bedroom is accessible only by walking thru the other. It worked out fine. Very clean. Daniel is incredibly quick to respond. A pleasure to deal with.

    Francis2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • As frequent Mineral Point visitors, we have stayed at just about every rental place in town. This cottage is hands down the sweetest, cleanest, most charming house we've experienced. The place exudes happiness and coziness wrapped up in lots of local art. The furniture is comfortable, the bed is great, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the location is perfect. This is exactly why people rent homes and forgo the hotel experience, you feel like a local or that you're staying in a dear friend's place while they're away. My only regret is wishing it was big enough for two couples to stay. Ah well, I guess it's just our secret getaway!

    Lisa2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, everything in walking distance, amazing house with beautiful detail everywhere you look, great host - overall one of our best stays ever - wish we could have stayed longer.

    Gerard2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Darling, quaint and cozy. It felt like home and in a great location for Mineral Point events.

    Jan2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Anyone who stays here will find it a treasure. Beautiful historic cottage, beautiful gardens and a neat arts and craft community. Very much suggest it for a weekend away or time to unwind. Will likely be back.

Wonderful and quixotic. This stone Miners’ Cottage has been lived in continuously since it was built around 1836. Andrew Jackson was still President when Cornish stone masons laid these walls. Now it is yours to enjoy!
The Miner's Cottage, owned by the Wisconsin State Historical Society (and rented out by Brewery Creek) has been carefully maintained to preserve its historical essence while providing modern creature comforts we've become accustomed to (e.g., heat, AC, running water, internet, television, etc.). The unit features a kitchen, queen-size bed, wing back chairs, sofa-bed, fireplace, and enough charm and innate antiquity to make you never want to leave. Our guests usually choose the Miner's cottage when they need time away. It's popular for long celebratory weekends (especially birthdays ending in zero and anniversaries) and temporary lodging.
Forget about being "near" history, with the Miner's Cottage, you'll be living it. Nevertheless, there is lots around to see and do, including galleries, studios, and Shake Rag Alley. Plenty of food and drink options are within walking distance, too.

Thank you for checking out Arbor Crest Cottage! Jeremiah and I would be happy to host you. This is new venture for us, starting with the 2020 Summer Season. Our farmette is conveniently located 2 miles from town, but set off the road, and through the woods. The cottage is located on the edge of our woodland area. We invite you to explore our property and enjoy the animals. The west end of our land over looks town and is a great place to watch the sunset and the goats graze.
The Cottage is a new build, with my personal taste in décor and Jeremiah's skill at building and design. Together, we worked to create a space that was unique, welcoming, and comfortable. You will find the kitchenette stocked with the items needed for your basic cooking needs for a skillet and grill, and all the options you want for your perfect cup of coffee in the morning. Both our loft bed and the sofa sleeper are queen size beds, with the coziest of down comforters and pillows. Our property was long ago developed by a master gardener with a taste for rare and unique trees. If you take the time to explore you will discover trees and vegetation, non-native to Wisconsin. Spring, Summer and Fall bring a mix of floral blooms and colorful leaf displays. Our goats enjoy visitors, and head scratches, its always entertaining to watch the young goat kids jump and play. Ellie, our dog, keeps watch over our farmette. She is a gentle giant who loves belly rubs, and can usually be found by our animals. Those of you coming to take part in the ATV and UTV trails throughout Lafayette County, you are in luck! Our road is a trail access road. And, for those of you coming to just get out of the city and enjoy some quiet, this is the place for you. Neighbors aren't far, but we live on a rather quiet road. Seasonally you may hear farm machinery in the distance during planting and harvest, on most days you are only going to hear my windchimes or Ellie, protecting her animals. *Please note, as this is a new build we will be working on the landscaping immediately around the cottage this spring. We will update exterior pictures as we make changes.
You will find our road to be a treelined and canopy covered drive. The road beyond our driveway makes for a nice and safe place to go for a walk. While our road is an ATV/ UTV access road, it is not heavily trafficked with them, as we are a dead end trail road once it reaches the highway south of us.

  • Nice quiet remote location for some much-needed R&R. If you are looking for things to do out and about it is only a short drive.

  • Roberta's place was even better than I thought it would be. The rooms were larger than I expected, with plenty of space to spread out and put my things away. The kitchen was large with enough room to cook and spread out on the table, and tons of utensils, cookware, etc. There was even a little nook for reading and writing - just what I needed for this trip. Everything was super clean too! But the best part about this property is the outdoors - amazingly quiet, tons of nature, room to walk, and curious goats to brighten your day. This was my first stay here (for a solo meditation retreat) and it had everything I needed. I will definitely be back again!

    Jory & Maria2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was very clean when we arrived and communication leading up to and during the stay was just what we needed. The eggs and homemade bread were amazing touches and we would not hesitate to stay here again the next time we are in town. Thanks!

    Nate2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was quiet and comfortable; we wanted a weekend in the country and got exactly that. The location was perfect for our day trips to Mineral Point and New Glarus for art, beer, food. The perks of fresh eggs, banana bread, and goats were also appreciated. We’d love to come back to stay during the warmer, more vibrant months on the land.

    Andrea2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This weekend at Roberta's guest house was a fantastic getaway. The banana bread she made and farm fresh eggs she brought us were just the beginning of this ideal experience spending a weekend away the from the hustle and bustle of city life. Making a short drive to small towns in the area to eat and shop revealed a true Wisconsin culture that thrives on seemingly nothing but local farms and businesses. We enjoyed our anniversary weekend here very much and highly recommend to anyone considering staying here that they take advantage of everything this lovely, modern, extraordinary, inspiring place has to offer.

The house is cozy and exactly the amount of space we needed, the farm-fresh breakfast (delicious aronia-banana bread, for us!) was perfect for getting the day started, and my fiance got to see the Milky Way for the first time in the peace of the surrounding land. Plus, the goats were very friendly! All in all, a restful stay with a warm personal touch.

    Abbey2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta was a great communicator and made us feel welcome in every way. We were treated to fresh farm eggs and aronia banana bread. Quiet and beautiful setting with walking trails. Non-scented soaps and local teas were much appreciated. We couldn't have had a better stay and were sorry we had to leave! Christine

    Christine2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnb experience and Roberta did an amazing job of not only being quick to answer any questions, but we loved receiving fresh banana bread and farm eggs for breakfast! This was a cozy place away from home tucked in the beautiful Wisconsin country side. I’ll recommend anyone looking for a quiet retreat to stay here.

  • Lauren is great and so is her place. It’s a very large room (former mother-in-law suite) and bathroom in a beautiful area. She is very responsive and thoughtful. A lovely experience!!

    Diana2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space Lauren offers is comfortable and private while being close to the downtown shops and restaurants. This well designed, stylish room has comfy chairs and an equally comfortable bed. The private entrance and large bathroom round out the stay. We enjoy staying at Lauren’s as she is knowledgeable about the area but also because she is a great person!

    Stuart2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A tastefully decorated and warm, welcoming, comfortable space. Lauren provided nice little extras, a frig with water and seltzer, coffee and tea, and breakfast bars. Conveniently located within walking distance of downtown, with a thoughtful supply of books and local interest guides. This is a nice little gem in the treasure that is Mineral Point.

We also ventured into downtown Mineral Point since that's close by (10 minute drive) if you want something. Overall, a beautiful house that delivers a peaceful and fun weekend!

    Allison2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my stay at the Maple Wood Lodge, and can’t recommend it enough! The lodge is even more charming in person than in the photos, and was the perfect setting for a cozy weekend getaway. We loved walking around the property on the hiking trails, sitting in front of the fireplace, and making delicious dinners in the well-equipped kitchen. It was also wonderful to sit outside around the fire pit. John was an extremely gracious host, and gave us all sorts of tips about the property and the surrounding area. I hope to come back to the lodge again sometime - maybe for fall colors, which I imagine would be amazing. Highly recommend!

Spend your time away in our newly renovated barn. Located 5 minutes from highway 18/151, relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside. 30-45 minutes away from Madison. 30 minutes or less from Dodgeville, Spring Green, Mount Horeb, Mineral Point, and many other small communities. Lands' End, Vortex, Duluth Trading, and Epic are also within a 30 minute driving distance.
Our barn house is located in our barn's haymow. The house is only a few months old but the barn itself is almost 50 years old. Most of the wood used in our barn house are from trees off of our farm. We also have a farmhouse just south of the barn that someone rents from us. We have a firepit, gas grill, and six outdoor chairs. Guest will have to provide their own firewood. We have an LP tank and grill accessories that are located in the house.
Quiet and peaceful. We are fortunate that we are located in the country and hope our guest enjoy the location as much as we do.
  • We loved our stay in the barn. Jim and Toni's daughter, Maggie, was our main contact for the accommodation. The loft was spacious, sparking clean, and had abundant towels and fresh bedding. I also appreciated that there was coffee and a coffee maker available for use. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Teresa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovey, clean, high quality finishings, everything that you might need inside (e.g. washer/dryer). Kitchen and all of the other spaces are large and comfortable. Toni and Jim respond quickly to questions. Only a short drive to Mineral Point for a cafe and galleries. Driving back to Madison, go through Verona to a cool cafe called n+1. A great get-away option, for sure!

This home is small town country living and it's all ready for you. Whether you're looking to get away for the weekend, go hiking, meeting up with friends/family or even deer hunting-this place is perfect. It has a beautiful private patio, huge backyard with fire pit (and supplied wood). The town boasts of one of Wisconsin's best restaurants, Betsy's Kitchen, which has the most amazing pies. Lots of entertainment in the area, and just mins away from Blackhawk Lake and snowmobile trails!

Small town of 800 people. Just minutes (5) from Blackhawk Lake, Spurgeon Vineyards & Winery, fabulous Wisconsin supper clubs, and much more!
  • The cozy cottage provided a very clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay. My wife and I were there mainly to hike at the nearby Gov. Dodge State Park. Our only disappointment was with the internet service, which was barely functional for two out of three days during our stay.

  • We were greeted by the host upon arrival and given a tour of the house & property. We were supplied with local and area information. The place had everything and more. There was great communication. This is a great place to stay for the south west area of WI as we were within 20-30 miles to several different towns that had several festivals, art, history and heritage. The locals were extremely friendly. We recommend that if you stay on site, you will have the most relaxing stay with all amenities. Super Hosts indeed.

  • We loved staying at Barrett + Nancy’s place! It was the perfect first stop on our honeymoon week. Thank you so much for your hospitality! We loved the quiet - away from every distraction, including cellphone coverage. It was so nice to be totally involved with each other. We spent our nights sitting out on the patio and playing the provided board games or watching old movies on the couple channels provided on the TV. We had an incredible time!

    Jeremy2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! We’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnb’s - and have been hosts ourselves - and this was outstanding. The place itself, set back a ways from host’s home, was immaculate and so beautifully appointed. Nancy has fabulous, classy taste: color schemes, comfort, high-end appliances and kitchenware and towels. She really thought of everything. We like to actually cook and use a kitchen - generally breakfasts - and hate it when there are dull knives (or no knives!), no mixing bowls or measuring cups or can opener, etc. Not only were all of these supplied but they were top of the line. Towels were plush and lovely, linens and mattress so comfy. Plenty of water pressure and hot water. The setting is bucolic - on their large but landscaped farm, outdoor table and chairs facing the fields (and bulls - which were on their best behavior). Nancy and Barrett were around, available if we needed anything at all. She left natural bug spray, home baked cookies, Keurig coffee and creamer. It’s very quiet and a bit remote; it is a 15 minute drive into the historic town of Mineral Point which suited us fine. Took us 40 minutes to get to Taliesin and it’s a lovely drive for us city folk. NO INTERNET OR CABLE, people, and spotty phone reception so be prepared with books and/or games, which were supplied. All in all a wonderful 3 days - we hated to leave and will be back as soon as we can.

    Laurie & Michael2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place in the countryside, peaceful. Nancy and Barrett were wonderful hosts and the house was beautiful inside & out. Super clean and everything you would ever need for a stay. Well done!

  • Barrett and Nancy were wonderful hosts. This was our first time using AirBnB, if we are this lucky every time we travel I don't see us staying in a hotel any time soon. They were responsive to our requests/questions and suggested a great restaurant for dinner out. Wonderful deck for eating meals outside or just watching the stars and listening to the cows. Relaxing time on the farm. You won't be disappointed!

Darlington is a small town with a few little shops located downtown. City Service Brewery and Glennie’s are two of our favorite places. Darlington is tucked between Galena IL. and Mineral Point, WI.
  • This would be a great place for family and /or friends outing. The kitchen is well stocked with most anything in the way of utensils, cookware, bakeware etc that I can think of. The dining room table can easily seat 10 and the lighting is good. Comfy couch for vegging out and watching tv. There is a nice sized tv in the common area, a smaller one in the kitchen and one in each bedroom. I am glad we were not trying to watch the Packers on broadcast TV as we are an older group of women who are not up to date on the whole Firestick thing and we could not figure out how to get broadcast TV. We figured out Netflix etc. but could not watch what we call “regular” tv. Not a problem most people will encounter. The bedrooms have comfortable beds, night stands, and adequate closet space. A full bathroom on each floor was very much appreciated.

  • The Hamilton Goebel House is a gem. Lovingly restored and brought back for others to enjoy.

    David2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Goebel House is nothing short of perfect. It is truly a one-of-a-kind home. The design of the house is absolutely brilliant, and it could not be more inviting and cozy. My girlfriend and I spent the night there with some friends from out of town, and we honestly could have stayed there for years. Josh and Nicki have created such a unique space, and nothing else compares to it. Anyone who stays here will be thrilled that they did!

  • Cathy’s home is so amazing. The pictures you’re looking at on this site, while gorgeous, just don’t do it justice. Our only regret is that we were not able to stay longer! Cathy’s attention to detail is superb, and we immediately felt so comfortable and ready to enjoy the weekend. From the beautiful quiet mornings with a cup of coffee and sunrise views to the unforgettable nights in the cozy living room playing board games, Dunhaven is a wonderful experience. With immaculate bedrooms, incredible modern bathroom fixtures and a more than well stocked kitchen, this place has it all for a weekend spent relaxing and enjoying the peaceful setting. We are already making plans to come back!

From the vast stars at night to all day hiking trails, you will not be disappointed. Book this home and experience the trip of a lifetime!!!!

  • We had a wonderful time at this magical place. We took full advantage of the well-stocked kitchen and grill. We enjoyed walking along the beautiful wooded trails. And it was a great launching pad for the Frank Lloyd Wright attractions in the area. A perfect, cozy fall weekend!

This historic home in the heart of town is an excellent gathering place for larger groups and families who want to share some common spaces and still have the privacy of separate bedrooms. Use it as home base for exploring the driftless area and it's many treasures. Explore galleries and shops, take a bike ride or indulge in one of the area's restaurants. Explore your artistic side in the third floor Creative Studio. Let your imagination lead you and the studio inspire you.
The Jones Mansion is a treasure from the past with many of it's features original to it's 1906 beginnings. Extraordinary examples of craftsmanship from a bygone era are in every detail of the house once owned by the founder of the Mineral Point Lead and Zinc Works and former Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
Mineral Point is a quintessential small town (and I know it well, having grown up here) rich in history, natural beauty and artistic community. At its heart are the people who live here that make it so special and it's something to be experienced firsthand. Come say hi!
  • Lori was an amazing host with an amazing house. We had guests coming in from out of town and were unsure of their arrival. She waited around for them and then gave them a tour of the house.

    Sharon2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lori was a great and communicative host. The space is grand and lovely, but also surprisingly accommodating to the kids in our group. The home is within easy walking distance to the shops and galleries in downtown mineral point. My extended family and I really enjoyed our stay!

    Marlo2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Jones Mansion with our family friends. The mansion had a beautiful large dining room and a drawing room with a lot of seating space. Lori, the owner greeted us on our arrival and told us the history of the house and about Mr. Jones. She also took us to every room of the three story mansion and even demonstrated how to operate the old transom window opener. It was a lovely big house with every bed covered with quilted bedspread Lori made herself. We toured Taliesin Preservation (Frank Lloyd Wright Estate) which is only half an hour away. Mineral Point downtown was lovely and we enjoyed strolling around. There were many art galleries and art studios. We met the owner and retired art processor of Bruce Howdle Ceramic Sculpture gallery. Mr. Howdle gave us grand tour of his studios. We also enjoyed lunch at Red Rooster Cafe. We would like to stay at the Mansion again if the opportunity arises.

The Garden Suite is one of three suites in the Moses Strong Guest House. It is a first floor luxury accommodation with an en-suite shower. Its king-size bed and reading area overlook the waterfall garden. The hardwood flooring and stone walls create a setting that is warm and cozy while the picture windows bring the outdoors in! This part of the house served as the outdoor kitchen for the family in it's heyday. Now it is a restful accommodation with a private entrance for our guests.
  • This was the best AirBnb I've ever stayed in! The space was so beautiful and convenient and the hosts were incredibly accommodating. I had a last minute personal request and they were very responsive, patient, and flexible. This was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. There's a garbage can in every spot I've always wished there would be. I always take my own face towel to remove my makeup because I know how destructive it can be and when I realized I forgot, I was so surprised that there was a black face towel provided just FOR that! I wish I could have stayed here forever. Also, everyone in Mineral Point and the surrounding areas were the kindest people I've encountered.

  • The Garden Suite was absolutely fantastic! Diane greeted us warmly when we arrived, yet gave us our privacy. The suite was beautiful and Diane had thoughtful touches all around the room. I would highly recommend the Garden Suite for anyone wanting to stay in Mineral Point!

The recently renovated loft features a queen-sized bed, bathroom with shower, writing desk, kitchenette, and lovely views of downtown. When you're ready to explore, the creative community and bucolic nature of Mineral Point await right outside your door.
Roland's Loft is the top floor of The Sardeson at Shake Rag Alley. Lovingly decorated to honor the creative spirit of Roland himself, guests can enjoy unique touches including the writing desk made of refurbished Mineral Point Opera House floorboards and kitchen and bathroom ceramic prairie tiles made by nationally known muralist Bruce Howdle. The loft is the perfect getaway for guests traveling for work and/or play.
Located in the historic downtown arts district, Roland's Loft at The Sardeson is in part of the former Globe Hotel, built in 1877. Mineral Point was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the first Wisconsin city to receive that designation. The neighborhood is representative of Mineral Point's dedication to historic preservation, arts and culture, and entrepreneurship. There are plenty of places for shopping, dining, and adventuring.

The Linden Cottage is a beautifully renovated historic Sears Catalog Home built in 1902. It has all of its lovely original architectural features, including original woodwork. It is flooded with natural light and has a fully equipped gourmet kitchen to accommodate "too many cooks in the kitchen".
It's a great place for family gatherings, vacationers, workshops, as well as corporate meeting. The rooms are open and flooded with natural light.
Linden is a small rural community, with a population of about 400, nestled in scenic southwest Wisconsin. The property is adjacent to pastures and open fields.

  • Kim's cottage is a gem! It's located in a quiet little town with virtually no traffic -- perfect for a peaceful retreat. Convenience stores/groceries are a short ride away through the scenic countryside. The house itself was spotless and comfortable with a wonderful view of the pastures in the back. Plenty of space for our group of 9 (two families with kids). The large kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and we got to enjoy the fire pit outside on one of the nights. Thanks for the memorable stay!

    Tim2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a very quiet setting. We all enjoyed the time spent and memories made. The beds are very nice and everything has been thought of to make our stay relaxing and trouble free. We went for walks and a few jaunts in to Fennimore and Dodgeville. All questions were answered accurately and quickly which was much appreciated. Kim's a great host!

    Sandra2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's Linden Cottage was the perfect place for our large family (10 adults). It is a beautiful, well-maintained, incredibly clean property. It oozes charm and comfort. We enjoyed southwest Wisconsin breweries and wineries by day, and retreated to the Linden home by night for beautiful evenings around the fire. Kim was exceptional with her communication and her accommodating spirit. It was the perfect place for us, and I would recommend it to anyone.

    Daniel2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great for our family of 7 adults. Plenty of beds, bathrooms and common space. The kitchen was awesome! It had everything we needed to cook all meals at the house. We enjoyed a great day at the Blackhawk Recreation Area which was about 10 minutes by car. We were able to rent a pontoon to fish. The lake is a no-wake lake so we couldn’t ski, tube, etc. The outdoor space was awesome too. There was a grill (charcoal rather than gas) and plenty of seating at patio tables and around the fire pit.

    Chad2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Linden home was in a perfect setting to relax, enjoy the scenery and each other's company. Everything we needed was provided. It was spacious for our group of 7 and just what we were hoping for.

    Patricia2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Kim’s Place. We have a large family and this was definitely the place to stay. The beds were soft and the home was very clean. We arrived late in the night and as we awoke in the morning we looked out the windows to a beautiful view of green and rolling hills. We loved the common areas of the home that allowed our family to sit and be together. Definitely a wonderful place to stay for a large family or group. I highly recommend!

  • Marshall's place was wonderful. When we arrived, we were greeted by his two sons who were very friendly and welcoming. The first thing you notice when you walk in the front door is the amazing view from the balcony. Marshall showed us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed, then answered all our questions about local attractions, restaurants etc. He even shared his 13 year aged sharp cheddar with us and offered a glass of wine. The space is large and comfortable with a very nice private bathroom. The beds were great. There are several movies, books and board games available just outside in the common area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Taliesin, House on the Rock or anywhere in the driftless area.

  • My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at this perfect Airbnb three times, and in two different rooms. We do not hesitate to recommend it to others, and often do! All three rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds, super soft linens, and spotless bathrooms with thirsty towels. The setting is extremely picturesque and quiet, yet a beautiful short drive from everything worth visiting in the area. The gracious host also offers a large variety of books, movies, magazines and games. We especially enjoy eating outside on the back patio at the lovely picnic table. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. We can’t wait to return!

Vermont West is a country house nestled deep in the rolling hills of southwestern Wisconsin. It is filled with serenity and privacy on a 13 acre tree farm with mowed trails, a small winding creek, wild flowers, wildlife and a night sky full of stars.
Vermont West is a beautiful, private country home. Though deep in the country, the house has a 'Chicago Loft' feel inside. Hardwood floors downstairs, fully carpeted bedrooms, and a dark counter top with under cabinet lighting kitchen. It is airy and bright during the day, relaxing and serene at night.
Vermont West is an hour west of Madison, WI. Located conveniently between Dodgeville, Spring Green, and Mineral Point, you will find an abundant amount of cultural destinations that include, Taliesen, various Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, American Players Theatre, House on the Rock, Global View, Governor Dodge State Park, the Wisconsin River and many others. There are many little shops from modern kitchen and gourmet, to antiques, artisan and Lands End resale. If it is sport you're after, fly fishing is excellent in the Otter Creek just a mile away, great golf courses in nearby towns, and the hills are to die for for any runner, bicyclist or cross country skier.
  • This is a great place to stay. Paul is a fantastic host. He was quite flexible with us and was great at communicating. Would highly recommend his place if you are looking for a nice getaway in the area. The house is loaded with amenities. Had all sorts of spaces to hangout at both indoors and outdoors. He had multiple outdoor games available as well as lots of indoor board and card games. The stairs are a touch steep, but manageable. There is no cell service in the area, which Paul let us know from the onset. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to get away from it all.

  • We had an amazing time at Vermont West! The location is absolutely beautiful. Paul and Therese were great host. It was a magical weekend.

    Henry2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful. The home is kept very clean and has a very warm and comfortable feel to it. The property the home sits on really does put it over the top. My family and I made some life long memories exploring the well groomed trails, observing the local wildlife and enjoying the fire pit which sits right next to a small creek running through the property. Paul and Terese were fantastic hosts and do an outstanding job of communication throughout the process of renting and while staying here. If you have any questions they will be easy to contact and easy to talk to. We had a great time. We will be coming back for sure.

    Richard2018-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Vermont West was a truly delightful farm house nestled in the hills, with a nicely appointed kitchen for our group of cooks. It provided the quiet we were looking for, and comfortable proximity to American Players Theater. We saw a wonderful version of Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure,” and enjoyed shopping in Spring Green beforehand. The walks around Vermont West were beautiful, even in the light rain. Paul’s personal history of the house, property and local attractions were interesting and helpful. We definitely plan to return.

    Gail2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This charming house was a pleasure to stay at. The location is very private (only one neighbor and he/she is several hundred yards away). The outside area is very picturesque, with a large meadow and stream running the perimeter. There was some fun wildlife to entertain us and the kids (fireflies, a very happy little woodchuck) The house is kept very clean. The kitchen functions well and is stocked with most cooking accoutrements. And the owners are very near by and respond to questions quickly. There is no cellphone service or internet connection (other than a dial up if you want to bring a computer). And the landline can't make calls outside of a small local area. That can be a good or a bad thing depending on your preferences. There wasn't a laundry room that we had access to. Although maybe for longer stays they do make that available. All in all a nice little house in the middle of nowhere that allowed our family to enjoy a slower pace of life for a bit.

    Heather2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Terese were out-of-this-world hosts. Kind, thoughtful, genuinely good people. The house was lovely and quaint. Close enough to nearby attractions yet far enough away for a true getaway. Having no WiFi or cell service in the home itself (you can get it just up the hill) was great. We literally could unplug from the world and focus on what mattered. I would absolutely stay there again.

    Christina2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic and charming, you get the feel of what it may have been like many years ago. The hosts were extremely responsive. We enjoyed the fact that it is off the grid with only a landline for communication. We would enjoy coming back! Nice relaxing vacation.

    Karen2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good experience at Vermont West. Plenty of space, great kitchen, and well located for the places we wanted to visit (Taliesin, Mineral Point, House on the Rock, and Cave on the Mound). My husband was interested in fly fishing, and there were several spots nearby (Blue River and Otter Creek were the two that he fished). A bit of a drive to get to the main road, but you get used to it. Paul and Terese left thorough instructions/tips about the house, so we didn't need to contact them once there, but Paul did check in when we got there, so we knew they were available. We didn't utilize the yard, but they have a lot of green space and a play area for kids. We loved it. Thanks Paul and Terese!

  • Mark and Jane, Your little cabin and it’s location are both super. There truly is a feeling of really getting away but still within a reasonable distance from town. Being so close to pasture is really cool too. Thanks for including so many little extras that help make it a seamless event. We all had such a wonderful time. The cabin and property provided just the right place to relax which is just what we wanted to do. Cheers!

  • Serene cabin on 40 acres of private land. (You won't see anyone except their two horses in a stable nearby). When we first saw this listing, we thought the cabin might be a few yards from their house, but that is not the case. Truly your own little house on the prairie. A great escape from city life! You have to prepare a little bit more since it is quite remote, bring drinking water and food etc, although there are grocery stores within 15 minutes drive. Awesome place!

    Alex2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mark & Jane's cabin was so lovely. We had the best time enjoying the space, spending time outside, cooking with their campfire stove, and building a fire in their fire pit. We overlooked a hilly landscape as their two horses grazed past. It was an incredible weekend!

  • This is a beautfully isolated spot. Very comfortable, romantic and just charming. We had an hour and a half of farm machinery activity on the Neighboring field but once they were gone it was just us, the horses and birds galore.

  • Debra and Dennis are terrific hosts. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed interacting with the cat and the dog, too. We ventured out into the little Mineral Point downtown area and found a couple of cute, upscale night spots and enjoyed a drink with some locals at one. We don't normally choose shared spaces on Airbnb but would definitely recommend Debra's place.
