  • Great retreat in VT. Very close to Brattleboro so easy to go into town for amenities, a meal out or to stroll around the shops but at the cabin you feel like you could be deep in the woods. Not fair off the main road but the sounds of the river really drown out any traffic sounds which was great. Kitchen was wonderfully appointed to cook everything we wanted (we used stovetop and oven without issue). Was so nice having a fireplace and the hot-tub. Received a message a few days in advance with instructions on how to check in and contact if any issues came up (none did). One thing that wasn't clear to me from the pictures was that it is about half a flight of stairs up to the bedroom from the main area and then half a flight (maybe 6 or 7 steps) down to the kitchen from the main area. Not an issue for me but I think it's just nice to know the exact setup of places. Would definitely stay here again.

  • The cottage is amazing. It's a two story cottage with three floors. The pictures dont do it justice. I fell in love as soon as I walked through the door. It is very cozy.

  • This little cottage cabin is so cute and sits on an amazing piece of property. The hot tub is awesome! We loved walking our dog by the river. Also check out ricks tavern about a miles away. Good place for local beer and a quick bite.

  • Truly tranquil. Seamless booking and communicative host. Previous reviews were beneficial and accurate in describing the space. Many guests frequent this location and it appears as if many often return to experience all this space offers.

  • Rosalind's place is great! Super homey, warm, and welcoming. We loved the dogs who welcome you and the great location near Mount Snow and Stratton. Would love to return when the front door's lock is replaced!

  • Rosalind’s place is beautiful! The apartment was perfect, and we especially loved the luxurious king bed :) Rosalind was great. We would definitely come back!

    Britta2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Rosalind’s barn cabin for a little under a week, and my dog Brewster and I had a great stay filled with hiking and snowboarding, the dog only participating in the former. The cabin is private and the welcoming landscape accompanied the living space. Just as welcoming were Rosalind and Robert and their dogs who greeted with tails wagging. We did a few cool walks. The walk through Newfane town and up to the cemetary, through the stone wall, and around the pond was very scenic, and i’m happy i got to see all of it. We also did a hike in Townshend State Park, along the snowy trail which ran beside the creek. A sight to behold. Just above the state park there is a Jamaican food truck in the parking lot of a glass art gallery. I had some delightful jerk 🐔 there. Stratton is a great mountain resort for 🎿/🏂 and has a superb village and some of Vermont's nicest runs, at least in my somewhat limited experience. Can’t go wrong with this cabin 👌🏻

  • Close proximity to the ski resorts we were interested in and perfect for a long weekend get away! Rosalind is a great host and the space provided all the amenities we needed after a long day on the slopes.

  • Lisa and Steve were great hosts, clean space, friendly dogs, and amazing banana bread. Good local recommendations for food and hikes as well!

    Allison2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Close to the ski mountains. Private upstairs area. The dogs are super cuddly and fun!

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We’d agree with others comments. Everything was pretty much what we expected from what we read. There were two upstairs bedrooms and a private bath along with a sitting area etc. We’d recommend it for that SE corner of VT.

    Deane2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Steve's home was exactly what we needed. Clean, warm, cozy and welcoming. Their dogs Finn and Penny took good care of us as well. Homemade banana bread and a delicious selection of homemade jams were a highlight for breakfast. It was so easy to be there. We would love to come back. We would encourage first timers to know their directions ahead of time because the cell service can be intermittent making GPS unreliable. In winter there may be roads that are not plowed or used until the snow is gone. GPS didn't tell us that. We learned the hard way. Make sure to read in the details section what to be looking for as you get closer to their home.. It is all there clearly explained. We highly recommend a stay at Lisa and Dave's. They are excellent hosts! Donna and Matt

    Donna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an authentic Vermont experience, this is it. They are such wonderful hosts and have made one of the nicest spaces I have ever stayed in. I had two crazy toddlers with me and they were so supportive and accommodating. The area is absolutely gorgeous, between the river view in one bedroom and the farm/mountain view in the other this place is perfect for any season. It is also 30 minutes from almost everything in southern Vermont, it’s a perfect home base!

    Steven2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay at for a weekend skiing at mount snow. Wonderful breakfast and loved the friendly dogs!

    Kelly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very clean and spacious. Lisa and Steve are very helpful and kind hosts. I recommend staying w them to anyone interested.

    Kevin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Steve are extremely warm hospitable people. They had breakfast on the table waiting for us every morning. They also took into account me being vegan. The house was adorable! We had the entire upstairs to ourselves. The beds were SO comfortable and the shower head in the bathroom detaches so it can be handheld which is really nice.. They have two dogs, Finn and Penny. Both the two sweetest things. Finn is a cuddler and followed us upstairs most of the time to hang out. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend staying with Lisa and Steve!!!!

The property has about one mile of river front access to the clear and refreshing water of the Rock River. In the summer, private dips in the river are just a short stroll from the house. Additionally, in the center of Williamsville, just 2 minutes drive from the cabin, you'll find one of the best swimming holes in the area. Quiet, peaceful, lovely, romantic... stay for two nights or two weeks.
The Area Wintersports: For some of the best downhill skiing and snowboarding in Vermont, Mount Snow is located 12 miles away (approx. 20 minutes drive), Stratton is 25 miles away (approx. 40 minutes), and Magic Mountain is 27 miles (approx. 45 minutes) away. For Cross-Country skiing, Brattleboro Country Club is 11 miles away, Grafton Trails and Outdoor Center (also offers snowshoeing and mountain biking in the snow) is located 20 miles (approx. 30 minutes) away and Prospect Mountain is 25 miles (approx. 40 minutes) away. You can also enjoy Friday night jazz at the Lounge at Duo's Restaurant, world class acts at the Vermont Jazz Center or a movie at the Latchis Theater. Three minutes drive from the cabin, in the heart of the village, is the sumptuous Williamsville Eatery, popular with both locals and visitors. This charming restaurant serves amazing pizzas from a wood burning oven and gourmet meals in a relaxed, yet beautiful and romantic atmosphere. It's always a good idea to make reservations for dinner here. More restaurants are in in the village of Newfane and the town of Brattleboro. Other places of interests: For children, the Retreat Farm in Brattleboro offers petting zoo, play ground and year-round activities such as family snowshoeing, campfires, Abenaki storytelling, and much more. The puppet theater in Putney, "Sandglass," feels like a step back to a simpler time with top-notch performances. Next door to the Retreat Farm is the Grafton Village Cheese Company's store with cheese tastings galore. A great place for delicious, local cheeses, jams, mustards, and more. In the summer, Olallie Daylily Garden is a beautiful spot for a picnic, pick-your-own blueberries, flowers and a stroll in the woods. In the fall, you can go apple picking at Green Mountain Orchard, Scott's Farm (which appears in the movie The Cider House Rules with Tobey Maguire and Michael Caine) and many other places. This is such a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. And, if you're lucky, you can also get some home made apple cider donughts :) There are numerous great swimming holes and hiking trails around. We will provide you with a list of our favorites for your convenience.
  • Lasse is a super responsive host, easily reached and eager to answer any questions. The photos are accurate, and the cabin is very clean and well equipped. It was a very simple and comfortable stay among the hills. Looking forward to booking a future weekend.

    Susannah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lasse’s cabin is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. She was easy to communicate with and had great local recommendations for food and activities. We enjoyed cooking dinner in the cabin, which has a really nice kitchen and all of the tools we needed, and made use of the puzzles and board games. We also checked out a local hike and had lunch in nearby Brattleboro. We visited in March, but this place would be great any time of year with the many hiking and snow sports options!

    Meghan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin. Booked the trip for a skiing trip to mount snow which is about 20 minutes away. Cabin is in a very remote area, the driveway very steep and dirt so having four wheel drive to get up the road is probably in your best interest. It only has one bathroom though so to sleep 6 people it was a little tight to share that with everyone. Other than that the views were amazing and it was the perfect spot!

    Lauren2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lasse’s cabin is beautiful. No detail left untouched. We had a very relaxing, peaceful stay. Can’t wait to visit again!

    Elizabeth2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Lasse's cabin and once again we had an amazing time. We came up to VT for a weekend of snowboarding at Mount Snow (only 20min away) but decided to spend Saturday lounging around the cabin because it's just that nice. Great views, spectacular property, we can't wait to be back later this year.

    Billy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly beautiful! Pictures can’t even do this place justice. Insanely nice view, modern design and appliances, very quiet and isolated. Breathtaking.

    Andy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lasse’s place is even more spectacular than the pictures. The only downside was we couldn’t stay longer! The cabin itself is incredibly clean, well decorated and has everything you could ever need - from kitchen utensils, to games, puzzles and books. The biggest selling point of this place though is the incredible views over the river that can be seen from virtually every part of the cabin. It’s also well situated to several good restaurants and activities. Lasse went above in beyond in terms of communication and recommendations for our stay. We’ll definitely be returning!

    Emily2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Lasse's beautiful cabin. From the amazing views of the mountains to the spacious, clean kitchen. We had a great time skiing nearby and coming home to the cozy cabin. Thank you for a lovely weekend Lasse!

Our rural neighborhood consists of a small cluster of homes atop a hill across from the West River. Our land consists of 5 acres of cultivated field, woodland, the cabin, and our home.
  • Wonderful place! I strongly suggest if you are looking for direct contact with nature and a nice and warm conversation around a firepit.

    Kell2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Easiest 5 star review I've written. This was my favorite of the 20+ airbnb's Ive stayed at. Exactly as pictured. We were shockingly warm (in 42 f temps at night), the camp fire was great, and they had everything we needed.

    Ryan2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at tanglebloom cabin was something out of a storybook, simply a magical time, to say the very least. Everything was sparkling clean, and tons of firewood, a nice thick blanket and lanterns/lights were kindly provided. It couldn't have been a more enjoyable stay! We will absolutley be returning. And if you get the chance to stay here, itll be one of the best decisions you've ever made.

    Jen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • You will not want to miss the chance to stay at the open air cabin! Easy to get to multiple hiking areas, good food, quaint towns...and quiet! Everything surpassed our expectations and was perfect. Even though the nights were in the low-mid 40s, the cabin was very comfortable and cozy. The view is gorgeous. Melissa really goes out of the way to think of everything and has an eye for detail. We would definitely return again! Thanks Tanglebloom Family!

    Heather2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A very romantic night with my husband. We had bonfire and roasted some sweet potatoes. I thought it might be cold to sleep in air , I brought a sleeping bag. Actually it was not bad at all. I also had a hot shower in Melissa’s house. Haha, in the middle night, I was scared by the wolf howling. I roused my husband, I was afraid if they were around us. My husband said: Don’t worry they are only interested in chickens.

    Stella2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful slice of paradise and unique experience to comfortably enjoy sleeping in the beautiful Vermont outdoors! Recommendations were spot on and location was great. Couldn’t be happier with our stay!

    Kabele2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing and unique Airbnb experience. Communication was prompt and description was accurate. Will definitely return if in the area.

    Lyndsay2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had an incredible stay at the cabin. Melissa was very accommodating and made us feel right at home in this off the grid, open air space. We experienced a bit of rain on the night of our stay, which in all honesty only added to the tranquility of the space. We couldn’t recommend this cabin enough, and only hope that we can make it back again for a longer stay!

Your magical, private, guest suite awaits in a 1790's colonial home on the Rock River in the pastoral village of South Newfane, VT. Wake to views of river & mountains from your luscious bed, refreshed & ready hike from the front door or explore nearby towns. Shop & enjoy local cuisine, cocktails, & Marlboro Music Festival within minutes. Or hunker down with a cup of tea, write a book, enjoy a movie. A perfect retreat. Your pet is welcome as an additional person. Please see below for details.
Great for lovers, girls or ski weekends, families, birders, or an artist retreat! The space has been described by guests as magical, spacious, peaceful, & like a fairy tale. It captures stunning views of the river and countryside from the queen bed and every back window. It is very quiet, but you can hear the river if you open the windows. Flocks of wild birds float into the feeders outside your window throughout the day. A picnic table is waiting for you by the river, as well as a private perch with Adirondack chairs up in the trees. It is NOT a hotel. It IS our private home. Access to the space is through a rather unglamorous, functioning mudroom which is the staging area for various home improvement projects. The mudroom will be one of those when we can afford to get to it. While we provide basic amenities like shampoo/ bodywash, hand soap, and lotion, some additional amenities have been provided by our guests. In the interest of being as green as possible, you may find a partially used bar of soap, or a half-emptied hotel conditioner bottle. If there is something you need, please let us know. If we can get it to you, we will. We have a luscious queen bed in the sleeping room. The sitting room offers a full-sized day bed with a real pillow top mattress, with a twin trundle tucked away. With two large rooms, there is ample space to move around making an easy sleep for 5. We offer free wifi, an extensive en-suite movie library. We want you to enjoy your time here away from the "real world" so we do not have local channel or cable access from the TV. Please note that we offer a "dry kitchen" mini refrigerator, coffeemaker, press pot, electric kettle, and microwave. We provide coffee, tea, and hot chocolate mix to start or end your day. We do not have a range or oven in the space, but we will have a mini Weber charcoal grill available upon request. The space is primarily heated and cooled with soft heat pump air with supplemental heaters and humidifier in the space as well. The bathroom is large and private with a full cast iron and porcelain tub - with views of the river! Shower too, of course.
This is a rural location IN VERMONT so folks should plan to shop for food before they arrive (though the nearest store is about 8 minutes away), or we ware delighted to make local recommendations for restaurants that will be open on the days that you are here. Being in a truly rural village setting is a rare treat, but as with most things, there are tradeoffs with certain conveniences. Originally called Pondville, South Newfane is a quiet little traditional village in the Town of Newfane (chartered in 1753), surrounded by beautiful country lanes, the Rock and Marlboro Branch rivers and hiking trails right out the door. There are historic homes, a church, historic one-room schoolhouse which is now owned by the community and location of frequent live music performances. Olallie Daylily Farm is a ten-minute walk to buy bulbs, pick blueberries, or just enjoy the beautiful blooms. We are right at the heart of the Rock River Artists Open Studio Tour as well. Two-minute walk to the South Newfane Schoolhouse hub of the event, and a short walk to at least three studios featured on the tour. Hiking, boating, small, friendly farms are also just a short drive away, including the famous Scott Farm in Brattleboro. While you feel like you are lost in time, the location is incredibly convenient to shopping, skiing, restaurants, water sports, and entertainment within just a few minutes. For skiing, Mt. Snow is 20 minutes away, Stratton 45 minutes, Bromley 50 minutes. We are just 15 minutes from Brattleboro, 8 minutes from Newfane, 15 minutes from Wilmington, 50 minutes from Manchester, 1 hour from Bennington - all easy day trips. We are also fortunate to be in the middle of many incredible farm-to-table style restaurants including The Eatery just down the road, as well as many delicious local-sourcing spots in Wilmington, Newfane, & Brattleboro.
  • The place was amazing and incredibly cozy amazing place for mount snow if you don’t want to be surrounded by other people in vacation when you aren’t at the mountain.

    Aldrin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We (me, my husband and our 60lb dog) stayed here for a ski weekend. The weather was quite cold, but we were cozy and warm once we located the controls to the heaters! The apartment was adorable and larger than we expected, and the bed was super comfortable. The Stairs were treacherous as promised by the listing, but our athletic pup managed them just fine. Very close to mount snow, where we had a lot of fun. Thoughtful touches and lots of hospitality from our hosts made this place a great find!

  • One of the best places we have stayed in! Can’t wait for another visit.

    Sonia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • One of the coziest spaces I’ve ever stayed at. Hosts are incredibly responsive and will provide great recommendations for the area. Absolutely recommend for anyone staying in southern Vermont to ski / enjoy the area!

  • This airbnb in rural Vermont was so so so so cute. Such a nicely decorated place with lots of nice touches that hosts left out for the guests and the bed was super comfortable. Its very peaceful with a creek running in the back yard of the house. We went to eat at the Williamsville Eatery which was the cutest restaurant and amazing food. Mount snow is 20 minutes away so really a super convenient place to stay if you want to ski. I definitely recommend this airbnb to anyone looking to get away for a weekend.

Cozy cabin newly renovated tucked away on the banks of Rock River. Easy access to Mount Snow, Green Mountain National Forest, hiking trails, swimming holes and ponds, and walking distance to the nationally acclaimed Williamsville Eatery. Twenty minutes from Brattleboro where you will find unique shops, art galleries, first-class dining, music, locally brew'd beer and so much more.
  • Kassie’s place was perfect for our couple ski trip get away. The house was nice, clean and in a good location between Mt Snow and Stratton. We enjoyed our stay very much!

  • This cottage was a perfect, cozy home for a ski weekend. The drive to Mount Snow was very easy and there were restaurants in bars in driving distance at night time. It is very clean, stylish, and the tips given about things to do in the area ensure you will have a great time in this space. Couldn’t have asked for a better space!

  • Kassie's little getaway was PERFECT for a ski trip to Mount Snow. It's a short 20 minutes from the mountain. The space is quaint and well maintained with everything you would need to cook, shower and enjoy your stay. I went with my boyfriend but their pullout couch could definitely accommodate more guests if need be. On top of that the river running through the backyard is so scenic even covered in snow!

    Jessica2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely love Kassies place! Perfect for a weekend ski trip to Mt Snow!

A cozy spot perfect for quick romantic getaways and an equally comfortable base for longer adventures. Views out your windows show perennial flower gardens and trees. Queen mattress in a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom (shower), and a living/dining area with an equipped kitchen are all at your service. Enjoy our yard and trails along the river. We are an easy 5 minute drive to 3 fantastic destination-worthy restaurants (all of which do take out) and many more within 15 minutes of driving.
Your apartment is on the ground level of our family home. There is a private entrance with a mud room, which enters into the living/dining area. Rhododendron trees are planted in front of the windows in the living room, lending extra privacy. The couch is comfortable sleeping for 1 adult or up to 2 smaller children. Please note that the ceiling height is on the lower side, at 78 inches in the shower, 79 in the bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom are through a door, which closes but does not lock. Two of the three windows in the bedroom look out under our deck, where we neatly and creatively stack wood (holzhausen). Black-out blinds are in each of the windows in the bedroom. We can add a toddler mattress to the floor in the bedroom you like, just let us know. Pack & play is in the closet, along with changing table supplies. Friends who stay with us always end up sleeping in because it is so quiet and cozy. That said, we do have a 4 year old, and one cat, who may from time to time make their presence known. Per law, we are required to list the Vermont Meals and Rooms Tax ID number on our listing: MRT-10126712
Newfane has a gorgeous, historic green (you've probably seen a picture of it in a calendar). Also in Newfane there is the Four Columns Inn, great for a memorable/romantic meal (they also do massages!), a humble yoga studio, and a handy general store. There is a great playground at the elementary school, only a 5 minute walk from our house (available to use after school hours/on the weekends). And about a mile down the road (also accessible via walking through the trails in the woods) is the ever-popular swimming hole in the Rock River, Indian Love Call. In Williamsville, a 5 minute drive, the incredible Williamsville Eatery serves dinner Thursdays-Sundays. A must; reservations recommended. In downtown Brattleboro, an easy 15 minute drive along the West River on Route 30, there is a lot more going on: live music at The Stone Church, great restaurants (our favorites include Whetstone Station and Duo), plenty of cute and practical shops, more yoga studios than you'll be able to visit, and great places to grab a cup of coffee (Mocha Joes) or golden mylk/fresh pressed juice (Superfresh Organic Cafe). Plus beer. Many craft breweries in town, and all the restaurants have excellent regional selections on tap. Or, stop by the Co*op and pick up your own sample pack to enjoy at your leisure. Also check out the Brattleboro Farmers Market for great local produce & products (a perfect spot for lunch, too) and the Retreat Farm (food trucks & live music on Thursdays in the summer, cute baby animals and walking trails for the whole family year round). Pick Your Own Fruits/Berries/Veggies: - Dutton's (Newfane) - Scott Farm Orchards (Dummerston) - Dwight Miller (Dummerston) - Lilac Ridge (Brattleboro) - Whetstone Ledges Farms (Marlboro) - Green Mountain Orchards (Putney) Nearby Places to Explore: - Jamaica & Jamaica State Park (20 minutes) - Putney Village & Putney Mountain (15-20 minutes) - Grafton Trails & Outdoor Center and/or Nature Museum (25 minutes) - Madame Sherri Forest (25 minutes) - Wilmington Village (30 minutes) - Weston Village and the Vermont Country Store (35 minutes) - Manchester Village (50 minutes) - Montshire Museum of Science & King Arthur Flour (70 minutes) Skiing: - 30 minutes to Mount Snow - 40 minutes to Stratton - 35 minutes to Magic Mountain - 45 minutes to Bromley - 60 Minutes to Okemo or Berkshire East
  • Very friendly, clean, and the apartment is really cozy. Water in the shower gets super hot unlike a lot of other places I’ve stayed at. Met Keith on our check-out and he seemed really chill with a good Vermont vibe. Quick and easy drive to Mr. Snow. 12/10 would recommend.

    Jacob2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Keith & Luella's place was a perfect spot to relax before and after a long day of skiing. Full amenities and even had a fire stick to go along w/ their huge TV. Definitely check this place out!

    Steve2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, comfortable and quaint! Very clean and homey. We really appreciated the little welcoming touches (chocolates, nature bars and essential condiments). Will definately stay again. You'll be very cozy and dont forget to sign the guestbook!

    Lisa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The best place to stay in Vermont; From the first moment Luella and Keith were very hospitable and when you arrive at the apartment you feel at home! The place very clean and well heated, the bed very comfortable and lots of kitchen utensils in case you want to cook. I loved!

    Luna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment will exceed your expectations! It is clean, warm, cute, and very well-situated (driving distance to plenty of ski resorts). We were able to cook a full meal and watch a movie (they have a large TV in the living room and a fully functional kitchen). We never met Luella or Keith, but they gave us great tips on the local area and which mountains were having good conditions. They are responsive, and if we'd had an issue I have no doubt they would have helped us figure it out. I would definitely stay here again. Can't recommend it enough.

    Eric2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy little basement apartment, clean, homey, good value, especially if you are a group of 3

    James2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a simple few nights. My friends and I had a little ski weekend, and it was very cozy and close proximity to Mount Snow. Luella and Keith communicated perfectly and were quick to respond. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

    Aidan2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a cozy stay at Luella-Keith's place. It was the perfect retreat after a day of holiday shopping and beer tasting in nearby Brattleboro!

We love our home on a dead end dirt road, quiet and private, yet close to all you need and want when you think of VT. Ski (Mt. Snow or Stratton), hike, swim, enjoy local fare at great restaurants or shop the Brattleboro Farmer's Market or food coop. Enjoy a swim at the covered bridge in Dummerston or at the convergence of the Rock and the West Rivers. Or drive up Newfane Hill to Grout Pond.
The apartment has all you need - a comfy queen size bed in a loft space with great views of the tree tops, a small but full kitchen with microwave, a bathroom with a tub and shower. The stairs to the loft are steep with a sturdy handrail, so be sure you are comfortable with that. The full bathroom is located on the lower floor, so you will have to come down the stairs to use the bathroom at night. The apartment is in our home, but it is a separate space with its own entrance.
We live on a dirt road, just a few miles from Newfane and 12 miles from downtown Brattleboro. We are close to great skiing: 18 miles to Mt. Snow, 28 miles to Stratton and 44 miles to Okemo. The Putney School has groomed x-country ski trails free to the public, and Grafton Ponds (fee area) makes snow for x-country skiing. Excellent road and mountain bike options close by, as well as endless hiking. Swim in the West River or Grout pond. Kayak on Sunset Reservoir or the Connecticut River. Great restaurants in Brattleboro and other surrounding towns. Some of our favorites are the Whetstone Brewery with views of the CT river, Panda North, for chinese or sushi, Thai Bamboo, and the Dam Diner for good diner fare. Or cook in using VT's amazing local food, found at either the Putney or Brattleboro Co-ops, or the wonderful Brattleboro Farmers Market, held on Saturdays year round!
  • Cute, tiny. But more than enough space for 1-2 people. Everything you’d need for a short stay. Cozy bed, nice and quite, super clean.

    Alexander2020-02-08T00:00:00Z

The top floor of our private Guest House is the perfect retreat from city life. Comfortably fits four and is ideally located near river swimming, hiking and two major Southern Vermont ski resorts, Mt. Snow and Stratton. We recently upgraded our cable Internet connection to 30 meg service- fast!
Amazing Planet! Farm, LLC, Guest House is a private living space in separate building overlooking working organic farm. One bedroom (queen bed) , living room (with two twin beds), dining area, kitchenette and one bathroom make this spot perfect for four guests. We now have AC in the bedroom. 2 night minimum required.
Views from the farm grounds are lovely, especially during leaf-peeping season, without another building in sight. Some of the best Southern Vermont river swimming is a short walk from the property and also accessible by car. Blueberry picking, historic Newfane and its beloved General Store and four-star dining at the Four Columns, horse stables and hiking all within a 10-min drive. Cool, revitalized downtown of Brattleboro with plenty of good restaurants is just a 15 min drive. Great access to skiing with Mt. Snow just 25 mins. away and 40 mins.

  • Hosts are quick to answer any questions. The top floor guest house was clean and in a great location to Brattleboro, Chesterfield and Keene. Traveled with 2 adult daughters, usually have gotten 2 room at a motel; but the guest house was less expensive and it was wonderful to be all together in the same place. Will stay there again when visiting the area.

    Virginia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location, peaceful, able to take walks around the farm, close to Brattleboro restaurants, and to hikes.

  • Samantha and Jonathan's have an amazing farmhouse property which is very close to the River and the cutest town of Brattleboro! There is so much to explore and not to forget the amazing Game Room they have for kids and adults! The location is very peaceful and is perfect for a getaway from the city life! I would definitely consider this property again!

  • Wow! This farm is amazing! If you have active kiddos this is a dream come true. Air bnb gold. There are so many fun things for the kids to do (rope swings, climbing net, foosball, bikes, scooters, etc.) we hardly needed to leave the farm!! Plus beautiful fresh produce!! The area is amazing too with great rivers/waterfalls/creeks everywhere. The hosts are kind and welcoming and really made us feel like the farm was ours for the two days we were there. Tons of local info regarding hikes and swimming is also provided if you can convince yourself to leave the excitement of the farm!

State of Vermont Notice: "Online reservations shall be suspended and lodging providers shall post a prominent notice on their web platforms which advises potential guests that reservations for lodging in Vermont shall be accepted by phone only." At "Ridgeview" you can go to sleep to the flicker of a wood stove, wake up to sunshine streaming through tall windows onto honey-colored pine flooring, and watch from your deck as sunlight fills the river valley and plays across the ridge opposite.
Beautiful newer construction of 1000 square feet, two-and-a-half story salt box on ten acres three of which are open and level grounds. Tastefully furnished with fully equipped kitchen, two full baths, two wood stoves, washer/dryer and an additional refrigerator/freezer for additional food storage in the foyer. The ground floor features a private master bedroom with queen bed, bay window, full bath, and private deck, plus cable TV and DVD player. Enjoy the open floor plan and vaulted ceiling on the main level, with a queen sleeper and a large view deck. The loft offers a full bed for additional sleeping accommodations. Great for couples, two couples, or small families.
It's so quiet, with no thru traffic. "A passing car is an event," one guest said. Neither is it lonely, desolate, "Stephen King" land. Private, quiet, easily accessible from major arteries.
  • Jim's cottage is a truly outstanding spot to explore the backcountry of Vermont or just hunker down with a tall glass of wine in front of a roaring wood fire and enjoy cabin life (which is just what we did). The space is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed; we especially appreciated the artwork and modern touches that made the space feel rustic but also eye catching. The loft is a gem (make sure to look up - the exposed cross beams are a lovely architectural flair), the view from the deck is wonderful (and, depending on the weather, can startle with its beauty) and Jim is a wonderfully accomodating host. We hope to be back soon.

  • Great getaway with everything you'll need. Beautiful view in the winter too. Master bed is comfy, loft bed not so much.

    Teresa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was lovely. The location is ideal for a local skiing weekend. James was extremely communicative with directions, check in, and recommendations. It was spacious, clean, and enjoyed the wood fireplaces. Would definitely return!

    Meredith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This property is very nice and out of town a bit. The location is very nice and it has a cozy feel. Internet is as described, not good and there is only 1 small tv in the bedroom down stairs. Having kids, they will be in the downstairs bedroom which is where is parents would choose to sleep. In the winter made sure you have AWD. The property is off a dirt road and wasn’t maintained well while we stayed there. I had to put my Jeep Wrangler in 4 wheel drive and barely made it due to the ice on the road.

    Bill2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was gorgeous when the snow was on the ground. Once the snow melted, it was still so beautiful with the mossy tree stumps and snowy patches throughout the yard. The view was beautiful and we felt very safe there.

    Estee2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Not only were we very appreciative of the prompt communication, the very helpful, informative and entertaining instructions and tips were invaluable to a great weekend. We enjoyed roaring fires in the stoves, sledding and building a snowman and exploring Brattleboro’s food scene. Also, our two year old son’s day was made upon finding the toy train set tucked on the shelf. It was his first request every morning. Thank you for such a great weekend away!

    Michael2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to retreat to! Secluded in the woods with nice views out the back. Wood stoves were great as well. Skied at Pico, stopped at Long Trail Brewery, and explored downtown Brattleboro during our stay. Would definitely head back again!

This Barn has been transformed into a simple yet comfortable living space. The upstairs is all yours! The Barn is located in the middle of a plant nursery specializing in Daylilies. Additionally there are 1000's of perennials and herbs. Great for birders and wildlife lovers and plant enthusiasts. As the gardens meld into more wilder areas with walks through woods and fields. From May on there are always flowers in bloom. We are also only 20 minutes to Mount Snow.
This is a flower nursery from May-September. Part of the charm of the farm is the activity surrounding the plant nursery. There is always lots happening during the growing season. Guests are welcome to observe or even become involved in the process if they are so inclined.
This is a rural area. Wildlife and plants abound. If you're a birder this is a great spot. Want to experience a plant nursery first hand this is the place. During the Fall and Winter this is a great spot to start to explore from. The surrounding mountains are spectacular during leaf peeping season. In the winter we are about 20 minutes from Mount Snow and other ski resorts are close as well.
  • The place was very cozy and nice and clean when we arrived! Chris was very hospitable and took the time to even help plan out a local brewery crawl for us when we returned from Mount Snow for the day!

    Emma2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Chris’s place was great and was an excellent value for our ski trip to Mount Snow. It was less than 25 minutes to the mountain. It offered plenty of space for our family of 4- it’s really a big space. We loved the main bedroom with super comfy bed and the awesome views. Chris greeted us when we arrived, showed us the space, and provided us with local suggestions. He communicated with us throughout and is an outstanding host. - Highly recommend!

  • Chris’s place is clean, charming and spacious. The barn is on a beautiful piece of property on a lovely, quiet Vermont road. After skiing at Mt Snow, maybe 20 min down the road, it was a lovely place to come home too. Chris is very helpful and attentive and a very nice person. He has a great book collection ! A great place to spend a few days in Vermont. I cant wait to return in the summer when the farm is in bloom.

    Nicole2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Second time staying, perfect for somewhere to sleep while going to mount snow

    Kenneth2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chris place was perfect as described. It is 2 ajoining bedroomsz with a bath and good size living room in between. It had snowed and ice on the trees, so it was one of the most beautiful visits ever to Vermont. It was like a winter wonderland. I was fortunate to stay on a cold clear night,so had great view of full moon and starry night from skylights. The living room is great for gathering with small tables for cards or games. Chris recommended Fat Crow which is only 10 min away and food was fabulous. Thanks for a great comfortable stay.

South Newfane is a historic town in southern Vermont. It has lots of rivers for swimming or fishing, is 10 minutes away from Mount Snow, and 15 minutes from Brattleboro.
  • Amazing place! We enjoyed every minute in the Tree House. Steve was nice enough to wait until we got there from our drive up from NYC to give us a quick tour. Waking up in the morning drinking our coffee or hot chocolate while watching the snow come down was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was great. The drive to Mount Snow is conveniently 20 mins (where we went snowmobiling). We can’t wait to come back again!

Hospitality was excellent; we felt right at home and very comfortable. Thanks so much to the hosts for making a memorable weekend; we’ll surely be back!

  • Wonderful treehouse! We highly recommend coming here for some rest and relaxation. Steve and his family were wonderful hosts, very friendly and kind, and even made us a dinner reservation at a lovely restaurant about 1.5 miles from the treehouse when we asked for a suggestion on where to go for dinner. Very accommodating! The pictures are exactly how the property looks, very beautiful and picturesque. We are already looking forward to returning in the spring ! Thanks for a magical time!

    Sarah2018-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic. That's really all there is to say. You get exactly what you're signing up for: A Pete Nelson treehouse, just like on TV. It's perfect and beautiful and stylish and modern and comfortable and warm, even on the coldest Thanksgiving ever. So, if that's what you're looking for, you're going to get it. The hosts were wonderful, giving us dinner recommendations, telling us stories about the construction, and providing a great eggs and bacon breakfast in the morning. There's not really a ton to nitpick here. We will definitely be back, probably sometime in the summer, to see the views change. But if you want to stay in an incredibly unique property, this is the one to try.

We are Snow Farm, but we do not plan on having animals for the foreseeable future. The cabin gets plenty of sun and overlooks the pasture. It is very quiet here, but still pretty close (about 30 minutes) to Mt. Snow and Stratton. You can hunker down in the cabin and read, hike around the property (150 acres!), or cruise the local towns to see how great this area is. Vermont allows the gifting of cannabis, and we can help you navigate that. Smoking is not allowed in the house.
This cabin is wicked sweet. Our family lived in it for a couple years before building down the road. There's a decent kitchen (range, oven, fridge), a great living room with great southern light, a wood stove (you need permission for this), a phone, a TV that plays DVDs (but no reception), a master bedroom with king, another bedroom with two twins, and a third bedroom with a double. The bathroom has a tub with shower.
The cabin is on 150 acres of woods and fields. There are some overgrown-ish trails on the property if you're a walker, biker, snowshoer or nordic skier (but we don't groom). Off our property is the center of Newfane (10 minutes), Brattleboro (30 minutes) and Manchester (an hour). There are lots of things to do within our small area, but if you're dying to see the big city of Brattleboro, then you'll find even more. For downhill skiers, Stratton is about 35 minutes away, Mt Snow about 30 minutes. Bromley and Magic are a little farther.
  • If you love rustic, you'll love this cabin. The sunsets are amazing, the master bed faces the window which allows for a fantastic view of the countryside, the woodstove in the living room made for cozy nights, It has all the homey touches of games, movies, and puzzles. Very welcoming and warm place.

  • Rustic cabin was great for a family getaway. Wanted a cabin in the woods but close to attractions and this was perfect. Perfect for what we were looking for and David is a very responsive host.

  • David is a welcoming and responsive host. If a rustic and cozy cabin is what you're searching for, this cabin at Snow Farm fits the bill. The location is perfect--short drive to town but a world away from the hustle and bustle. Easy access to outdoor activities too. Had a wonderful week calling the cabin our base camp between snowshoeing, hiking and skiing. We look forward to a future visit!

    Scott2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time on the snow farm! David was quick in response time and very kind and relaxed in our interactions. The home was neat and just what we were hoping for.

    Madison2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We were 2 couples with 3 children, end of December. We really enjoyed the stay. Super chalet in the forest, comfortable, cozy, near great hikes. David was super responsive and helpful. A memorable moment for the whole family, playing by the fire, snowing outside, a great place to enjoy nature and then back home for a glass of wine :) We recommend 100% !!

    Damien2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • David was an awesome host. The cabin was off the beaten path in a little slice of heaven. I will definitely be back. David was also quick to respond if you needed anything. If you want some privacy and time to relax, this is the place to do it. Perfect spot for dogs too

    Jeremy2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and secluded! Would absolutely return again!

    Christine2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I spent a few days over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin far exceeded our expectations. It was so cozy and well equipped. Beautiful views from every window. Lots of extras to make our stay special, like movies, games, puzzles, and a well equipped kitchen. They even left something in the fridge for breakfast! I loved all the little helpful notes David left for us. We felt like we stepped back in time. It was quiet, peaceful and ever so cozy and warm. We did a little hiking, but mostly just stayed in and enjoyed the peace and quiet. My daughter and I have traveled extensively -- and this was by far at the top of our list! Can't wait to plan another visit!

One of the oldest homes in West Townshend with loads of charm! Bright, cozy rooms and a private yard with outdoor fire pit. Quiet side street with easy access to the Townshend Lake Trail System. Enjoy nature walks, river exploration, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. Walk to the country store/café for wholesome meals plus seasonal Farmer's Market. Convenient to both Brattleboro and Manchester. Explore Southern Vermont's recreation, dining, shopping and ski resorts
The space is cozy with plenty of natural light and is set up to make your stay as comfortable as possible. New mattresses and beds with quality linens and towels. New washer and dryer for laundry during extended stays. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you want to do your own cooking. There is a toaster oven as well as a traditional electric range and a microwave. Coffee and tea are provided. There have been many recent upgrades to this home, but several features are unique in character including an antique claw foot bath tub (with shower) in the main bathroom. The second bathroom is quite small with an older tub as well plus a hand held shower . As is typical with old Vermont farm houses- people made use of what was availble. The house, with its old time VT character and the village setting will definitely give you a classic small town New England experience!
The neighbors keep to themselves, but friendly. Worden Lane is not a through road so there is very little traffic. A short walk to the end of the road will lead you to the trail system.
  • Tansy’s place was really great. It was quaint in a good way and very spacious with a wonderful country feel to it. It was a very warm place to come home to after a long day of skiing.

    William2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway. Very spacious and well decorated. We were happy to see the kitchen is stocked with essential dishes and pans so we could cook a meal.

    Lisa2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tansy was a great host and the cottage was adorable! It was quaint, relaxing and well decorated - we loved it. The outlets were baby proofed which was thoughtful for those with families. The cottage was spacious and the pictures didn’t so justice - much better than expected. Truly got the Vermont winter experience. Would recommend to anyone and come back! Thank you!

    Christina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tansy’s place was sooo nice. Much larger than I thought! It was spacious and clean and just the perfect home for after a day a skiing!

    Alexandra2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We love this little cottage more than we can say, and have now visited both in the summer and winter. This is a great area, the cottage is centrally located, and we couldn’t ask for a better host. We’ll be back!

    Melanie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space! Cozy and conveniently located near at ski resorts. Will definitely stay here again!

    Hailey2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the quintessential VT farm house. Looks like Joanna and Chip Gaines helped with the decorations. We would highly recommend this gem. It is a central location for skiing Bromley, Stratton, and Mt Snow.

    Stephen2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tansy's place was awesome. Very cozy, stylish, and clean place to stay for a ski trip with plenty of room for several people. She's very responsive and gave recommendations for the surrounding area upon request. Provided awesome variety of seasonings to make cooking much easier compared to other hosts I have stayed with in the past. The only thing I would say, and it is not a turn off in the slightest, is that the space upstairs and in the bathroom is not tall friendly. I'm 6'5" and was a little large for the shower as my head was hitting the ceiling.

We have converted the sauna cabin into a simple retreat at the forest's edge. Nothing fancy, but a fabulous view over the treetops to Canoe Brook below and there are trails that wind through the woods and landscaped gardens of our homestead. You can hear the creek and the barred owls sing in the evening. There's a small woodstove for cool nights and evenings. The Putney School and Green Mountain Orchard are close by as are all of the lovely attractions of the Putney and Brattleboro area.
The cabin is on our property which has flower and vegetable gardens as well as countless trails and walking routes. You can bike the gravel roads, explore the many swimming holes nearby, and visit local farmers markets and orchards. This is rural Vermont living. We have a dog on the property who is friendly. We also run an active artist studio producing paintings and ceramics. The cabin is right next to our house so there will be casual interaction when visiting though we fully respect your privacy. The cabin is small and should really be thought of as a camping experience. There's no kitchen so bringing your own camping gear for meals is essential. There are no sleeping mats or bedding provided. You must bring your own sleeping pads and sleeping bags/bedding. There is no running water, however there will be a large water dispenser in the cabin filled with fresh water for your stay. There is an outhouse, but no shower or full bathroom. Think, simple.
We are the first driveway after the asphalt ends. Rural roads meandering past farms and old stone walls, the perfect routes for checking out the fall colors are right out the door. The Putney School trails for skiing and hiking literally begin at the door of this cabin. You can go for miles of trails here, or nearby is Putney Mountain and the Pinnacle--local favorites that offer even more opportunity to explore this magic landscape. And Putney as a village provides so much in the form of arts, theater, farmers markets, orchards, and great people.
  • This is a sweet little rustic cabin to camp in for a weekend of hiking, trail running or just being quiet and unplugged. The location is quiet and an ideal distance to the quaint town of Putney. There are extensive trails right out the back door and a beautiful brook below the cabin. If you are a camper this is a real treat in the colder months with a woodstove and big windows overlooking a beautiful forest. Aaron was accommodating and kind. A great find!

    Amy2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Putney is stunning in the fall! The Cabin Retreat was truly memorable. The location is incredible - cute, rustic cabin made comfy in the autumn chill by a wood stove; hiking literally out the back steps and loads of places to hike around the area; the aesthetic of the cabin grounds is truly lovely. Aaron was welcoming (so was Thistle!), quick to respond, and helpful with suggestions about places to go & things to do.

    Maggie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Such an adorable cozy cabin, and Aaron was an outstanding host. He had recommendations for hiking, food, and activities; the cabin was clean and supplied with fresh water, and he had an extra sleeping bag when my boyfriend forgot his. Loved it!

    Camelia2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the best camping AirBnb’s I’ve ever stayed in! Aaron and his wife are so friendly and welcome. They met us at check in and told us all about the trails behind the tiny house as well as great swimming holes and hikes in the area. They provided drinking water and electricity which was exactly what we needed. Will definitely stay again if I get the opportunity!

    Katherine2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Thistle gave us a lovely welcome greeting as we arrived around sunset. Beautiful, creative and inviting touches in a sweet natural setting. Lovely, lovely. The tiny cabin didn't feel too small because of the nice size windows that invited in the woodsy surroundings. A string of lights were on to say "Come on in!" We completely enjoyed our stay, took a few hikes, refreshed ourselves in the creek and slept well listening to crickets and owls at night, distant roosters in the morning. Aaron helped us get familiar with the area and was easy and enjoyable to talk to as well. This is a fun and peaceful way to take a break and enjoy the natural world without setting up a tent, hassling with bugs or dirt. A wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend a stay. A great value! Donna

  • The stay was unbelievably pleasant and unique! 25 minutes ride to Mount Snow! The house is big and spacious and has all the amenities one could need and want. The kitchen was completely equipped for every type of meal we had planned. The response of Jonathan and Samantha was quick and creative even for things we didn’t realize we would need (sewing kit!). The guidebook they provide upon check in was very helpful for the space and getting around. The value for money was more than in any other stay we had in the area.

  • Such a big beautiful home! We had a large group for skiing at Mount snow and it was absolutely perfect, everyone had their own rooms and bathrooms! It was about 25 minutes from mount snow, and 15 from downtown Brattleboro. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful and always responded quickly! Our group will definitely be back

  • Jonathan was a very helpful host; plowing the driveway early in the morning and responding to our questions/requests usually within minutes. The farmhouse was warm, clean and cozy; it had plenty of space for 2 adults and FOUR very active teenagers. We had a great time in Vermont; thank you Jonathan and Samantha!

  • What a beautiful spot and a lovely house to nestle in. I did not get to meet Sam and Jonathan as we were coming and going a lot. Their communication was excellent and I have a feeling that had we had any questions they would have been right there for us. The rooms are huge and very comfortable with bathrooms attached. Nice well appointed kitchen and eating area. It is a gorgeous spot that my cotravelers said would be wonderful to come back to in winter. A great spot for kids to run around and have space to adventure.

Cozy efficiency apartment with loft. Daybed downstairs doubles as a couch. This apt works well as a stay-cation spot too. Sanitizing of surfaces done in between all stays. We are close to downtown Putney, which features a live music venue, an independent bookstore (roasting their own coffee!) and local food co-op. There are lots of hiking trails in Putney, as well as cross-country skiing opportunities. Close to Landmark College, the Putney School and the Greenwood School.
The apt is a separate space, suitable for two people very comfortably, three if good friends or family.
Putney Mountain is a short, beautiful hike. Black Mountain is also lovely. There is an independent bookstore, a General Store, and a food co-op. There is a Farmer's Market at the local orchard during the winter months, and the Putney Craft Tour is famous for the quality of the artisans.
  • Amazing place, sparkling clean, easy to find and very nicefull touch. Would definitely recommend it.

  • Gay's apartment is a very cute space that had everything we needed to enjoy a night away from home. The loft bedroom was adorable, and so was the daybed and kitchen. My boyfriend and I were very comfortable there, and I would definitely recommend it! They also left a homemade chocolate coconut bar that was gluten free and dairy free, which was completely unexpected, but amazing because I have those dietary restrictions! Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

  • This is a lovely first floor unit with lots of privacy. The bedroom is in a second floor loft but there is also a daybed on the first floor. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, with many thoughtful touches to make the place more welcoming. We loved the exposed beams, comfy flannel linens and beautiful views! The sulphur content in the water is pretty high so someone with a sensitivity might be uncomfortable, but we didn't mind it. Gay was great about communicating and very responsive when we had a question. We definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay for a few days!

    Kim2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect spot for a 1 night ski vacation. Gay was outside to greet us and she was very flexible about check in because of a snow storm. Very clean are with only a 20 minute drive in to Brattleboro and less than an hour to mount snow. Would recommend.

    Eli2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect spot for a long weekend getaway! Gay's place is very cozy and well stocked with lovely touches like tea/coffee, they even included fresh butter and half&half in the fridge. It is conveniently located off the main road in Putney, perfect for exploring the Brattleboro/Bellows Falls area. Would be delighted to stay here again!

Cozy Cabin in rural setting along river nestled conventionally in between Mt. Snow and Stratton Mountain. Cherry floors and trim, full kitchen, full bath, washer & dryer. Sleeps 4 comfortably with private bedroom upstairs and sleeper sofa in living. Work station/desk & WiFi.
The entire space. Very Private and comfortable. The location is very relaxing and peaceful. Off a main road so traffic is very minimal. Only 10 homes on the dirt road where the cabin is located. Beautiful setting which overlooks the West River and there is a nice sandy beach in the summer.
There is a charming cafe, coffee shop and breakfast place 2 miles from the cabin and many more restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area. Manchester in 23 miles with outlets and shopping galore. Mount Snow is 15 miles from the cabin and Stratton Mountain is less than 9 miles away.
  • So quaint and cozy!

  • Lorenzo’s place was convenient to nearby tourist attractions such as amount Snow and Stratton while still being secluded and private. He was more than helpful when it came time to check in and was great to communicate with. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great location!! Cute place. The host was great. Very relaxing and tranquil place. So close to the ski resort for the fraction of the cost.

    Chi2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin in a perfect location for a southern VT ski trip. Plenty of space for a small group of people. Nice and relaxing after a long day of mountain fun!

    Patrick2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect getaway. My wife and I stayed here for a ski/snowboard weekend at Stratton. It’s about 20 mins from Stratton and isn’t too difficult if there’s snow. The cabin is very cozy and secluded so it’s perfect for a couple. I would stay here again if skiing in Southern VT.

    Adam2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Good location, good communication, we had everything we needed. The owner even plowed our parking and shoveled the deck.

Welcome to the Tiny Art House! With a covered porch nearly as big as the house itself, there's plenty of room and a pleasing view of white pines and field grasses. It has a sleeping loft with a queen-sized bed and 2 extra twin mattresses. We offer one free one-time spa pass for quests book at least 2 nights (hot tub, salt water pool, gym, sauna, steam room and shower). Additional passes are $15 and do not have to be purchased ahead of time. Please read the full description of the space.
The Tiny Art House has a composting toilet, gas stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster, and simple cooking supplies. Spring water for drinking and light clean up is provided but there is no hot or running water (you can heat water on the gas stove). Tiny Art House is a ten-minute walk from the West River where you can walk or bike the 8 miles of trail along the river. You can take the 45 minute walk on the trail or drive 10 minutes to downtown Brattleboro where you'll find eateries, breweries, a movie theater, bowling, art museum and galleries, local shopping, book stores, hiking trails, and tubing and canoe/kayak rentals. There are also some great swimming spots on the West River.
The Tiny Art House is located two miles from the exit 3 rotary on route I-91. Most of the two miles are dirt roads. There are six other homes on our dead end road (Fox Farm) with lots of fields and woods in between.
  • Had an amazing time here! Ending up going by myself and it was a perfect peaceful retreat to relax, read, and keep things simple. The downtown area is close and has a lot of nice stores and restaurants. Honestly, wasn’t sure how the toilet worked but I managed and the bed was so comfortable!

    Lauren2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay! Three people and a dog stayed comfortably. Secluded in nature but close to conveniences.

    Jess2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night at Chuck’s place. Everything was clean, cozy, and easy going, and felt totally comfortable and private despite being on a property so near other homes.

    Amy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fun space. The bed was comfortable and the house was delightfully warm. The stars were gorgeous from the porch.

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely getaway for a weekend or more! We enjoyed being close to nature along West River and downtown Brattleboro.

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty good place. If you don’t want a typical motel in the Brattleboro area, this cute and cozy mini cabin will do the trick. It could use a little work on the craftsmanship (walls need extra reinforcing, painting) and the door should be able to be locked from the outside. I’d also add that you should definitely make sure You have a 4WD or AWD car if you’re staying here. The dirt road leading up to it is quite muddy and difficult to navigate if you don’t have a capable car. Other than that I wish there was running water and a fireplace, but since Chuck was upfront about that stuff, this place met my expectations. I don’t recommend this place for someone over 6 feet tall and over 250 pounds.

    Anour2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck provided us with an unforgettable stay; his Tiny Art House is so perfectly cozy and comforting, especially for watching the snow fall on a Winter’s night. The place was warm and inviting upon first entering, and kept it’s homey feel while still feeling like a retreat in the woods. I cannot recommend it enough, and I look forward to coming back and making more memories!

    Kendra2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck's TAH was the greatest answer to our need of a "do nothing and relax" getaway. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and Brattleboro was the best to wander and explore. But don't let the size of this little cabin fool you-- it is well beyond comfortable to just hang around and play cards in! The porch was even wonderful to sit out on while it snowed, wrapped up in a blanket. Our stay was beyond our expectations; we even got to buy some of Chuck's art to take home with us! This is an experience you will not regret, and one we plan on reliving many more times!

  • Had an amazing stay here!! The space is so great - it is even bigger than it looks in the photos and is very clean and cozy. The check in process was super easy which was great since we were coming in late. The location was lovely and was super close to Stratton - and came with great tips from Samantha & Jonathon! We had to change our plans last minute and Samantha & Jonathan could not have been more accommodating - we will definitely be back!

    Alisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Great little place! What you see is exactly what you get. Everything is described as is. The little snacks are great! Will stay again, Joan is a great host!

  • Great greetings into the home, absolutely amazing experience for my first AirBnB. I couldn’t have asked for more

    Chris2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Joan's place was great-just as described. The kitchenette was stocked with goodies. Joan was super nice and we enjoyed talking farm-life with her. We spent a little time with the chickens and goats-the goats let me pet them which was awesome. The space was exactly what we were looking for, a cozy place to hang after a long day on the mountain.

    Erin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful trip and Joan was most accommodating. Thank you!

    Justin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely stay here again next time I go to Mt. Snow! I absolutely loved the snacks/coffee/fresh hard boiled eggs she provided. She was a very caring host and was available if you needed her. 5 stars!!

    Nina2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Joan was a responsive and available host. She was flexible and accommodating. It was wonderful that she had an array of lowkey breakfast items on hand, as it made it more straightforward to get out the door early for skiing. Being fifteen minutes from Mt. Snow made the location excellent for waking up close to the mountain. As a clean room to stay in, with the availability of a kitchenette in a downstairs hallway, it was a good location and price. There was a common area on the third floor that was spacious, however, it could only be accessed by climbing up a ladder (that was safely and securely attached). While my 6 year-old and I enjoyed our brief time up in the common area, it may not be accessible for everyone.

    Lindsay2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Joan is fantastic host. Meet us and showed us around and even suggested a place for dinner which was just awesome. Thanks!

The glass cabin is a unique gem. Planted in the woods with the extra essentials you need, or want, you’re sure to be able to relax. There is NO ELECTRICITY but we have a heater for the cabin and power bank for your phones. :) We provide firewood and kindling for the fire pit. Late spring/summer- We do have a separate shower and minimalist bathroom, for all guests, in the warmer months. For winter- inquire when booking
There’s nothing better than waking up in the peacefulness of the woods, with the sun on your face, and having a bit more luxury than camping. Welcome to our happy place!
We are only one block from Jamaica State Park. There are beautiful hiking trails, fishing, swimming holes, and waterfalls galore. We are also 10 miles from Stratton. You can hike, ski, snowboard, mountain bike. Lots of live music in and around Jamaica as well!
  • This place was very unique and just about what we expected. We actually expected it to be a little smaller but it was a perfect size for two! The path up the hill to the tiny house was lit which was great to be able to see at night, although we had to be very careful to not slip on any ice/snow. There was a cafe and little market right across the street which was really convenient. Elizabeth made sure we had what we needed and let us know she was only a text/call away if we had any questions.

Walk out your door to great views of Putney mountain, beautiful sunrise and mist floating down the valley. The studio apartment has a large yard, duck pond, fire pit, and hot tub. Everything you need to cook, and relax is here for you. Roam eleven acres, visit our animals or just relax. The farm is close to a great swimming hole (5 min drive) 25 min to Stratton Mt, 40 min to Mt Snow, 15 min to Grafton Ponds Cross Country Skiing and Townshend State Park.
The basement studio is new and we think a great addition to our farm. We wanted to offer a year round rental so more people could have an affordable place to stay for the ski season as well as the summer and fall months.
  • I had such a great stay at misty mountain farm. Sharon made check in so easy and provided tons of information about the farm, animals, and local hiking. From watching the sunrise over the mountain in the morning, to stargazing in the hot tub at night, this place was a perfect weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Cozy farm in the mountains of southern VT. Lots of friendly animals to visit and a beautiful property! The studio has pretty much everything you need for your stay. Great location near lots of great sights and hiking/skiing/... areas! Or just a nice place to hang out and relax. Thanks!

  • This place is a quiet peace of heaven. It is conveniently located near everything we wanted to do. You will not regret staying here. Barbara and Richard

    Barbara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the studio, 3 of us. We had room to do everything, and enjoyed the property very much! Hot tub was fantastic! Animals were fun and friendly. Host is quick to reply to any messages. The farm is on a mountain, make sure you have the right vehicle if it’s winter. ( we didn’t.... lol.... we did ok, but would have been better in 4 wheel drive) If you are light sleeper, bring earplugs. Studio is in basement and you can hear sounds from upstairs. It’s worth the bit of noise..... trust me, the farm, property, and entire package is worth some slight noise.

Our place is good for couples, soloists, families with kids, and furry friends (dogs must be on a leash when on the property).
The space is attached to our 270 year-old farm house but it has its own entrance. It consists of an entrance hallway, a sitting area, bathroom with stand-up shower and kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and an electric kettle for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate. It has a small staircase leading up to a large sleeping loft with the capacity to sleep up to 5. Fresh linens and towels provided. Air conditioning is available if you like. Children and friendly dogs on leashes are more than welcome!
Our place is at the end of a 1/2-mile long dirt road with 6 houses on it. We are located on a stunning plateau above the West River...a 10-minute walk and you're close to several fabulous swimming holes. • This place is perfect! My friends and I were looking for an affordable place near Mount Snow so we could enjoy a long weekend snowboarding. This was close enough to the mountain that we could easily drive back and forth, it was in a beautiful secluded area which made it easy for resting after a long day, and the layout is super cool! It was everything we could’ve possibly wanted. Chuck left us some awesome local recommendations and was very responsive to all of our messages and requests. Next time we’re in town we will absolutely be staying at Chuck’s!!!

  • Fiona's loft was a gem of a place to stay! It was cozy, clean and comfortable! Beds very comfortable and the space had a great vibe. Great value! Great location! Beautiful setting! It was a pleasure to walk to the 4 Columns restaurant for a great meal or to the grocery store to buy things or for a yummy breakfast sandwich. Close to Mt Snow and cross country skiing at Timber Creek and Prospect Mountain, but far enough to have no traffic and noise. At least three excellent restaurants nearby. Fiona was very responsive to any questions I had and made everything easy. The only thing that wasn't perfect was my son had trouble streaming videos, but Fiona said she will check with her internet provider. If you need a fast internet connection check with her to make sure it is available, but otherwise everyone should book here without a moment of hesitation! We look forward to returning soon!!

OPEN mid-MAY-OCTOBER. Our beautiful one-room custom cabin (a.k.a. The Button) is on the edge of the woods leading to the Rock River. It's freshly appointed, spotlessly clean and very romantic. The cabin has simple cooking facilities and an outdoor grill with bistro table and chairs, twinkle lights on the deck, hammock, and 2 fire-pits, one by the cabin, and one on the beach. One COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST is included in the price. Enjoy Chris's popovers, fresh out of the oven.
OPEN mid-MAY through OCTOBER. 3-night min. on holiday weekends. Unique and private, this charming one-room 12’x16’ cabin is on the property of photographer Christine Triebert and designer Carol Ross. It was built in 2010 with the timber from an ancient hemlock tree on our riverfront land. When our builder finished the cabin, he stood back and said, "It's cute as a button!" And from that day on, it's been "The Button". The fresh, contemporary accommodations include a king-size bed (or two twins), bathroom with tiled shower, a mini-fridge, toaster, microwave, French Press coffee maker, electric tea kettle and a gas grill outside for preparing simple meals. Rock River Cabin is in the charming rural village of South Newfane. Walk the main roads along the Rock River, or hike the hill roads for beautiful Vermont vistas. Restaurants and shopping are only 5-20 minutes away.
  • This place is an absolute gem! It is so clean you could eat off the floor! It is beautifully decorated in the most beautiful, tranquil and serene location. We could easily live there! We fell in love with this place. Walking the path lighted with twinkle lights covered in leaves was so much fun! Carol and Chris were so welcoming and friendly. Two very talented and artistic people. We truly enjoyed getting to know them. You cannot go wrong staying here. We highly recommend it! By far, our favorite!

  • You could not possibly be disappointed in your stay with Carol and Chris in the cabin!!! It exceeded our expectations and was the perfect getaway for our anniversary. So many awesome little touches and my favorite part was breakfast with the two of them on our last morning. Delicious and a couple of really great ladies to chat with!! I want to go back and stay with them in the summer time and plant myself in the river and soak in the sun!! Beautiful little cabin in a beautiful state!! My first time in Vermont and I loved it!!

  • Our stay at the cabin was perfect, as always. Last year we came up to Vermont on a whim and it was breathtaking. So much so, that we came back this year and I proposed to my girlfriend! I’ve never been in such a tranquil, beautiful, and welcoming place. Chris and Carol go above and beyond for their guests. We hope to make this a yearly trip!!! I cannot recommend their cabin (and conversation) enough !!!

    Hana2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Carol’s place was amazing! The cabin was a great place to stay - clean, comfortable, all the basic amenities, and good local suggestions. We loved exploring the river, eating takeout by the campfire (try the Eatery right down the road!), and reading in the hammock. Chris and Carol were so welcoming and made a delicious breakfast Sunday morning before we left. Good food, good conversation, and perfect getaway!

  • We really enjoyed staying with Carol and Chris. The cabin is very cute, has lots of handy details and is located in a beautiful environment. Some great restaurants nearby. Beautiful nature and and towns to explore. Carol and Chris were very welcoming. We can really recommend Vermont this cabin in particular!

  • We had a fantastic time at their cabin for the weekend. The river was beautiful and the scenery on the property was everything and more. Dinnerware, towels, etc were supplied inside the cabin which is very convenient and thoughtful. This was the first time we’ve been to Vermont and this was exactly we hoped it to be. We definitely will be coming back again. 😁

  • Nice clean cabin on a beautiful property. Many thoughtful details. Nicest cabin shower I've ever used. Great as a base location for a Vermont getaway.

    Patrick2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Chris and Carol's cabin was the best decision we made on our trip. The cabin and nature around it are both beautiful. They are super hosts and and were a big contribution to an amazing weekend. They also made us a great breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.

We've got real snow and cold. Skiiing Nordic and Alpine couldn't be better! Great views & comfortable feel. Windows S & E Moon & sun rise, fire flies, evening skies, bird song. Full-size lower & twin upper in what was my daughter's bunk bed. Cathedral ceiling. Southern yellow pine. > PLEASE READ details under The space! If you are a teacher, organizer, activist, artist or need more of a deal, please ask. Please consider a tip if you need more than one bed. :^) GRACIAS ~ MERCI ~ DANKE ~TANKU
IMPORTANT INFO FOLLOWS :^) First: If you want more of a deal: You can make up your own bed and strip it when done, I will supply linens and towels. Let me know!!! Second: In the Winter, your bedroom is heated by the sun or an electric heater which I will ask you to turn off once you've snuggled in under the ample covers! It's warm downstairs where the floor is heated by water heated in the wood stove. My home is half of a small hay barn. the East half. Two floors. Two bedrooms, a sewing room/den, and bathroom make up the upstairs. First floor is a big downstairs with separate pantry/basin room and laundry room, Also a sun/plant room and a big deck. >>> I made a conscious choice NOT to spend thousands of dollars on a septic system so there are NO FLUSH TOILETS on the premises. This saves 100s of gallons of water each month. If you like the idea of sharing the fertility of your manure in the outhouse then you'll enjoy being here. If you cant bear the thought of not having a flush toilet to whisk your feces away (where?) than you wont! There is a bidet for peeing in the bathroom, also a tub, a basin & a separate shower. It's a normal bathroom except that there's NO toilet. There IS Hot water, ahh what a luxury. And when the wood stove is running, we're heating water with wood! In the winter, the bedrooms are cool, even cold when we shut our doors to sleep or for privacy. I use a soapstone to warm my bed before getting in! There's one for you too. And I can provide a small elec heater for when you're hanging out in your room but you'll have to snuggle under the covers for the night. My house will be in various levels of disheveledness. I work part-time 3 jobs one of which is being a teacher of many and various groups and have materials for all of it. I love books and have quite a few. 4 guests are possible b/c overflow options exist. Bed in den. 2 couches in LR.... With every guest comes more linens and work. Please consider a tip if you need more than one bed. Your room will be simple, clean and tidy but I can't promise that my whole house will be. Welcome to my world!
Lots of hiking near and far. woods, streams, hills, pastures, mountains... I have a folder of info for you to use. you can walk out the door. Or ski... or drive 2 or many miles to find all kinds of hiking. two fun towns nearby: Bellows Falls (with the cheapest and comfyest movie theater) and Brattleboro. North and South respectively along the Connecticut River. These days people use the roads. Route 5 / Interstate 91. I am a ten minute drive from Putney which is about 15 minutes from BF & Bratt.
  • GO is a lovely host. Kept the Woodburning fire going all night.

  • Cozy, eclectic, and admirably sustainable home, lovely night’s sleep, great communication and attention to detail (notes around house with helpful info were much appreciated) and very cute cats :) Would stay again.

  • Quirky, unique, artsy home :)

    Julia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy home with a clear view out the window of the sun or the night sky. Greenough's cats made for nice company and I liked the aesthetic of the space with lots of books and photographs, art, travel guides, etc. I appreciated the experience in the winter but would love to return in the summer. The towns of Putney and Brattleboro kept my boyfriend and I entertained for the weekend with hiking trails, corner stores, arts and culture, and restaurants. It was a lovely weekend trip for us New Yorkers!

  • We had a lovely stay... comfortable, welcoming, had everything we needed for our stay. Read everything about it to make sure it’s your speed. It is beautiful and very nice hospitality.

  • I had an amazing stay at G’Os Skunk Barn in Putney. The town itself is super cool with a laid back artsy vibe. The hostess with the mostess is so accomodating and knowledgeable on sustainability and DIY living. I loved my stay here. One of my top airbnb experiences ever. I even loved the outhouse, had a great view! If you love nature and sustainability you will love GOs place. Cozy, comfy and cool cats. What else could you ask for? Heavenly.

    Gabrielle2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible space! You can tell there was love poured into the renovation of this barn, and all the details were such beautiful touches. The cats were super lovey and wonderful additions to the trip. G’O was very thoughtful and gave us a tour of the space when we checked in and taught us how to navigate the space as there are a few things you should take note of (light switch locations, how to operate the bathroom, etc). The roads to this location were a bit difficult to navigate as warned by the host, so be careful if snowy! Suggested for low key travelers who are open minded. Would absolutely recommend staying here, will definitely stay again next time we’re in Vermont.

    Cameron2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • G’O is very warm and kind. She fostered a sense of belonging and comfort that made us feel right at home. The space is very intimate and cozy. We were fortunate to arrive on a sunny Saturday in December and hence went for a short hike with G’O nearby. Her cats are absolutely adorable and fun to play with. At night we wrapped ourselves in blankets and watched bright stars from her deck. We definitely wish to visit again!

  • The trip was a fun relaxing time for my kids (6&*) and I. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the kids got to play with and feed many of the animals. Just lovely.

  • What a delightful weekend away!! Yes, the house is quite “tiny” and there were some details to learn about a “composting toilet” for this city girl, but the space is very well-organized and every inch is used smartly. The very best parts, however, are truly the beautiful scenery (the lush greenery, the rolling mountains, and a breathtaking sunset to look at while soaking in the hot tub), the property (with all sorts of animals ready to be petted/ played with), the hospitality from our lovely and gregarious hosts, the fire pit, dining al fresco, the fabulous hiking, kayaking, and fruit-picking all within a reasonable driving distance added up to just the most perfect weekend getaway for two city dwellers!

    Carina2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and Alan are so incredibly kind and friendly; they take amazing care of their animals and treat all of their guests so well. We had a ball seeing their animals, and their farm store food is delicious. We hope to make it up again soon!

  • Perfect, relaxing getaway. Please read the description! This is a farm and a VERY tiny clean house. Any negative reviews here are reflective of not reading the description. You get exactly what they say you get! This was perfect for what we wanted and we had one of the most enjoyable times! Such a chill, relaxing and comfortable environment. Sharon and Robin were super down to earth, easy and enjoyable to talk to. There isn’t anything negative I could possibly say. Definitely plan to return!

This spacious studio apartment is located in the former Swedish Congregational Church in historic Swedeville, a secluded hilly neighborhood built by Swedish immigrants in the 1800's. For years it housed Rick and Liza’s stained glass studio, which they have now lovingly and creatively transformed into a residence. The rental is minutes from the interstate and one mile from downtown Brattleboro, but the neighborhood has a rural and somewhat European flavor to it.
This 20x20 rental has ten foot high pressed tin ceilings, arched windows, stained glass, a comfortable queen sized bed as well as a twin sized day bed which converts to a king sized bed. The space offers a private subway-tiled bathroom with shower. The kitchenette is equipped with a small fridge, induction hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, french press coffee maker, coffee grinder, tea pot, dishes and utensils. We will provide the fixings for coffee and tea for your use and we leave some breakfast foods in the fridge. Note: We do not have a kitchen sink so we will wash your dishes each day if you leave them outside your door each morning in a container we provide. We have a lovely vegetable and flower garden. You can expect to be greeted by roses or peonies or morning glories depending on the season. The October foliage is outstanding in this area and this neighborhood has some strikingly brilliant trees. During the winter when it snows, the neighborhood looks wonderful coated in sparkling white! Please note that there is a long term rental apartment above this space. You may on occasion hear footsteps on the stairs above. Our renter is very responsive and respectful.
Brattleboro has regularly been recognized as one of the best small towns and best art towns in the USA. It is home to galleries and thrift stores, to a great farmers' market and a monthly gallery walk, to a wonderful youth theatre, a jazz center, and a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Swedeville is a couple of blocks from nature trails for hiking or cross country skiing depending on season. There are many areas for swimming and hiking nearby as well. We are 10 minutes from the Marlboro Music Festival and less than an hour away from Mount Snow and only a bit further from other downhill ski areas.
  • This was the perfect place for a creative retreat! Liza’s place is beautiful with so many thoughtful details- art, local recommendations, even a box of my favorite tea! Liza and Rick were gracious hosts -quick to answer any of my questions! I loved waking up to views of the garden and forest. With its location in walking distance of downtown and hiking trails, I could not have asked for anything more. I will definitely be back!
