Places to stay in Olema

Places to stay in Olema
1/2 mi to Pt Reyes Nat'l Seashore Park entrance. Remodeled, well appointed one-room stand-alone cottage. Kitchenette w/ cooktop, tile bathroom, Cal king bed. WiFi, Netflix, Large windows, nice light, small porch, patio, views of cows and scenic Hwy One. Ideal for 1 or 2 people. I have set to "4 guests" to allow 1 or 2 kids. We have floor mattresses & bedding.
This is a lovely cottage just as the pictures show. You will likely not see anyone here, very private. Please note that the back of it runs along Route One, a 30mph, 2 lane road. In the day you can hear the cars going by back and forth to town. In the day, chances are you are out having adventures at the many beaches and trails or enjoying other parts of this one-acre property. At night, out here in the country, the traffic really dies down. The cottage is ideal for 1 or 2 people (one Cal King bed). I have it set to "4" to allow for people to bring 1 or 2 kids, for whom we have floor matresses and all bedding. Please request this in advance. It is a slumber party but you are welcome to it! Additional amenities include the following which are all in your cottage: ~ Free WiFi ~ private bath with tile shower ~ 43” TV for watching Netflix, no channels. ~ Bluetooth speakers, CD player, CD’s. ~ kitchenette: electric cooktop, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker ~ peets coffee and assorted teas ~ cups, plates, wine glasses, utensils, pots and pans, etc ~ hairdryer, all bath products ~ please note there is no longer a woodstove in this cottage (prior reviews may have mentioned there were problems with it so we removed it.) ~ a guest recently suggested it might be helpful to know that there is a kitchen sink (right outside the bathroom door, but no sink inside the bathroom). I never thought to mention it before.
Farmlands and rolling hills and cows, located just 1/2 mile to the park entrance of the Point Reyes National Seashore. Five minute walk to the village of Olema and the amazing Sir and Star Restaurant.
  • Fabulous! Had a lovely, quiet weekend reading and walking around the property. Our son had the best time. Close to everything. Loved the touches re: the cottage history.

  • This cottage is in a great location for exploring Pt. Reyes Station and Olema, and for hikes and drives in that beautiful area. The bed was super comfortable. The linens were clean and fresh. Kelly was quick to respond to communication.

  • What a great place! There was even an extra note by the door with our name. I've been in Anaheim for a week and now San Fran for a week, this getaway/place was truly awesome. We were able to unwind, eat locally, and walk to church on Sunday morning. Thanks for hosting, much appreciated and highly recommended.

  • A wonderful cottage located in a wonderful place. Everything was super clean. It was so close to many hike trails. An amazing set of old music and movies were provided.

  • Perfectly situated, quiet and cozy. It was raining during our visit and the cottage was super comfy. I can only imagine how nice it would be in the sunshine! Perfect for 1 or 2 people, with access to everything!

  • Highly recommend the Berry Vine Cottage for the perfect location close to Point Reyes, Samuel P. Taylor etc., the cleanliness, the super comfortable bed, the coffee with stocked sugar/cream, and all the other thoughtful touches and style. Unique art garden as well! I will absolutely come back.

    Amy2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and charming space which was perfect for Thanksgiving! We ate at Sir and Star, hiked the incredible Bear Valley trails and ate to our heart's content - we especially loved Due West. Great place at a great price.

    Sarah2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Berry Vine cottage is the perfect home base for exploring the beautiful area around Point Reyes and Tomales Bay. It’s located conveniently close to those destinations yet it’s also very private and quiet. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen well equipped. We had a choice of 3 very pleasant spots for our meals: the inside dining table, a table in the covered porch, and a table in the garden next to the barbecue. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom stocked with quality products from the local company EO. We enjoyed the tasteful decoration. The place is really welcoming and comfortable, thanks to many thoughtful touches like plenty of power outlets; plenty of hanging hooks in the bathroom and by the front door; plenty of hangers in the closet; shelves for our stuff; and quality sheets and towels. We really liked having the option of a top sheet or a lightweight duvet that was appropriate for the gorgeous balmy temperatures that we enjoyed! We look forward to returning. Thank you very much, Kelly.

    Dolores2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful cottage. Cozy and peaceful! Our family love the porch a lot! And there are arts work all around the place. The location is definitely best if you plan to visit point Reyes.

    Feng2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Berry Vine Cottage. It’s a lovely cottage. Very relaxing and quiet place. Its exactly how the pictures are on the site. We even saw the horses outside our window. We loved the porch and wished we spent more time relaxing their. The host is great too. Location is perfect. It’s right next door to Olema’s Sir & Star Restaurant and a short distance to Point Reyes Station and Inverness/Tomales Bay. We highly recommend the place.

Items are subject to change. Thanks.
Please note: access to my Apt., requires you to walk up 2 flights of stairs. This is a Historic Building built in 1856 and is 160 years old. It is not wheelchair accessible.
The Apt, is directly across the street from Sir & Star Restaurant & the Olema Farm House. There is also a Deli across the street.
  • I highly recommend a stay at Chris' place in Olema. It is a comfy-cozy place to come home to after a day hiking and exploring the natural beauty of West Marin.

    Mary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher's place is a wonderful and cozy blend of Point Reyes history and rustic charm. It's very large — my husband, daughter, and I only end up using one of the two bedrooms — and the apartment is situated above a few local shops, which makes you feel like you're staying in a "downtown" in the quaint village of Olema. There's an adorable cafe literally right down the street with great breakfast options, tea/coffee, and lunch options — if you want to venue out for breakfast, but don't worry, if you don't, Chris has left a generous amount of breakfast options! The apartment is also just a few minutes drive to Point Reyes station and numerous trailheads so there's no shortage of things to do with this apartment being your basecamp. Our family would definitely stay here again, especially in the warmer months when we could enjoy the back porch!

    Tara2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, very close to trailhead for lots of hiking trails. Lots of breakfast/snack foods were provided. Christopher was a very responsive host and overall, we had an amazing stay :) would definitely come back!

    Malin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Recommended. Clean, neat and comfortable. A very well stocked kitchen allows a stay in breakfast if you choose.

    Deborah2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place.

    Mike2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a slice of heaven in a heavenly location. Full of charm and interest, roomy, comfortable, great deck and private yard, walking distance to Olema’s entertainment, biking or driving distance to dozens of recreational opportunities, and the physical setting of the Point Reyes/westMarin and Sonoma County Area is spellbinding. Chris is an exceptional host, the house was perfectly set up, fresh fruit magically would appear, the breakfast of your desire was at your fingertips, Chis’ communication and availability were stellar. A +++ for this one!

  • Adorable Airbnb

    Kassey2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming place in a historic 1850s building, thoughtfully appointed with lovely antiques, and spacious (actually 2 bedrooms, not just 1), plus a back deck and nice back yard. This was the best food-stocked Airbnb we've ever stayed in, not just coffee but many yummy food options for breakfast, and even snacks and fruit for hikes, so for the already good price you might as well "mentally" subtract about $30/day that it would otherwise cost to go out for breakfast and buy snacks. :-) Speaking of hikes, if you haven't been to Point Reyes there are lots of lovely hikes with views of wildlife, and this place's location is right near the entrance, while near great restaurants and taverns in Olema and Pt. Reyes Station.

  • Neat and tidy little cottage. Very quiet during our stay. A pleasant 20 minute walk along the backroads will get you to the village, where there are several good places to eat (at least when they're not closed due to corona virus). Best of all, of course, it's close to all the wonderful Point Reyes attractions.

    Frank2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, very private with lots of nature sounds (birds, frogs, wind in the trees), especially at night. Beautiful walk to Pt. Reyes Station. Great place to go to get away.

  • Jeri’s cottage was great for our stay in Pt Reyes. It was cute, clean and comfy. Jeri gave us detailed directions to get there and instructions for use of the cottage.

  • Great little cottage with everything you need. Right near town, with a small kitchen, dining table, large bed, nice lounge chair for reading, and a patio area. We were able to bring our small dog as well which ended up working out great! Jeri was very nice as well and we’d stay again. Thank you!

    Sinead2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jeri’s place is warm and welcoming. Very comfortable with everything I needed. Well designed and thoughtful touches. Great place. Wonderful host!

  • Was a perfect get away for my dog and I. Next time I may rent the whole place! I definitely recommend if you want a very quiet, clean, beautiful place and so close to beaches. I discover Kehoe Beach. Thanks.

    Brian2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I spent Christmas here and it was a very relaxing trip. We brought the dog and it was nice to have some outdoor space for him. There is a small fenced in patio so you can let the dog outside without having to leash up every time which is nice. It's also a very nice neighborhood to walk in. Thanks, Jeri!

Point Reyes Station, CA, United States

The Creekside Cottage in Point Reyes Station is a simple, modern craftsman with beautiful light all around. New construction, completed in 2017, it features serene quiet at night, bird viewing, and relaxing. Walk into town or head for the beaches from here. (It is not in Bolinas, online maps services are still confused about this fact)
Deer and bird watching are our favorite pastime here, enjoy quiet time on the deck.
The walk into town is one mile. Point Reyes Station is worth it year around. Visit the print shop or the saddlery.
  • The cottage is absolutely great! The perfect size for a couple. We had everything we needed for making our meals in the kitchen. My wife is a sucker for a great bathroom and just loved the heated floor and towel rack. The location is secluded enough to feel like you are getting away, but a medium walk to town.

    James2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second extended stay in Hilmar's cottage. We had a very restful and rejuvenating time. We walked to town to the exceptional bakeries and the unmatched independent bookstore. We hiked along Tomales Bay and then drove to Chimney Rock and to Limantour for fabulous birding. The cottage is charming, homey, and comfortable. We've already booked our next extended stay.

    Pat2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This gem of a place is cozy, warm, stylish and convenient. We enjoyed the Great Horned Owl chorus every evening, too! I won at darts, by the way, and we enjoyed a meal at the large dining table while being warmed by the wood stove. So close to town for access to the Bovine Bakery, the bookstore, and Stellina, the best restaurant north of the Golden Gate featuring local produce, cheese, breads and meats. Can’t go wrong!

    Alan2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cottage in an extremely gorgeous part of the country. Hilmar was extremely thoughtful and helpful and everything at his place exceeded our expectations. If you want a home away from home in a beautiful part of California, this is your spot!

    Tina2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Hilmar is very gracious and generous. His Airbnb is very comfortable, quiet and private. It's a great place for birding, for nature pursuits and close enough to Point Reyes Station for walking and enjoying the natural surroundings and town.

    Pat2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. First about the cottage. Great location in the heart of one of my favorite spots in California: Point Reyes. Second about the host. Hilmar is communicative, friendly, and flexible. If you're looking to stay in the area: Hilmar and the cottage are highly recommended.

    Steijn2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was an exceptionally clean, lovely place for a quiet retreat over a long weekend. We used the cottage as a base to explore Point Reyes National Seashore (hike where you can see the elk!) and Point Reyes Station, which is a quirky and fun little small town with interesting shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed hanging out at the cottage, drinking local wine and eating local cheese. It is in a quiet neighborhood overlooking a horse farm where the deer stroll by quite regularly.

    Renee2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views, quiet, and comfortable. Don’t know about you, but that is all I need to make for a great stay. Hilmar was very accommodating and available for anything yet very private. Nice touches.

    Denis2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Nest cottage far surpassed our expectations. The space was comfortable and there were thoughtful touches throughout. And the view from the porch was so peaceful. The beautiful art and color in our cottage made it so special. The art on the property was an unexpected bonus. I was mesmerized by several of the sculptures. The location was great and we walked to dinner. We would love to return!

  • We had a magical time at The Nest- sipping coffee on the porch, taking in the views from bed, enjoying the artwork on the property. The location is perfect and the size of the space was excellent (bigger than it appears in the pictures). We will be back again! Highly recommend!!

Unique setting next to the San Geronimo Valley Creek. Across a footbridge and next to our happy chickens you will find your cozy little Nook. Situated close to Pt Reyes National Park and other spectacular hiking and biking trails.
This is a studio in a private hideout in Lagunitas, next to the main house. The property is situated in a gorgeous valley full of redwood trees, flora and fauna. It is separated from the main road by a small creek, with a walking bridge connecting the home to the carport though a password protected gate. Trees, flowers, and ferns populate the yard, bringing in little birds, dragonflies, and frogs. We recently built a pond with lots of fish. Hopefully very soon we'll have some turtles in there as well. The studio has a queen size bed, 2 lounge chairs, a TV, and plenty of closet space. It's equipped with a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator, convection oven, sink, and 2 burners. The bathroom has a fully functional shower. At night you can see the stars from the comfort of the bed through the skylights. Stepping outside the studio, you'll see a lounge area with comfortable blue chairs, and the chicken coop with our hens (all named after famous female singers. We'll introduce you, if you'd like!). Beyond the fire pit is the creek. We have a little island where you can climb down and observe the salmon swim upstream, and the crawdads fight one another for their ladies honor. We are located within a 5 minute drive to Spirit Rock, 30 minutes to Stinson Beach, and about 45 minutes to San Francisco. There are lots of places to go hiking and swimming around here, and it's a great area for biking. As far as media entertainment options, the studio does have a TV with premium cable, and we offer free wifi.
  • Adorable place!

  • My husband and I stayed here for a week long vacation from MN. We loved being so close to the city but when you get back to Linda's place you suddenly feel the peaceful and rustic energy. Also loved how close we were to so much nature. 10/10!

    Vivian2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really magical to walk across the bridge. Great heating and very nice to arrive with the place pre-warmed. The bed was wonderful, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the shower was simple and instantly the right temperature. Very private and secure. Thank you.

  • Excellent nook / getaway spot from the city within driving distance of Point Reyes Station. We were looking for a weekend with access to point reyes hiking and this spot delivered. From tomales point to the lighthouse and drakes beach, this Airbnb is the perfect setting to reach all those spots over a weekend. The room is a cute, comfy and relaxing hideout for a weekend.

    Stephen2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cosy cabin was as described and a quiet spot to use as a base for visits to new and old haunts in the area. We enjoyed seeing Point Reyes Station and Bolinas again. A walk around the East Peak of Mount Tam was stunning and Sol Food in San Rafael was great for lunch.

  • This is a sweet, sweet spot-- a delightful, cozy, clean and comfortable, brilliantly designed little cabin in a beautiful garden alongside a rushing creek, two minutes walk from excellent food (breakfast and lunch at the Lagunitas grocery, dinner at Arti Indian restaurant), ten minutes up the road from the redwoods of Samuel P. Taylor Park and twenty-five from Point Reyes National Seashore and its spectacular landscapes-- not to mention elephant seals and elk. Linda was the perfect host, check-in and check-out were as easy as could be, her tips for local activities and such were all useful... really, my only complaint is that we won't be able to get back there soon enough-- my wife and I just loved every minute. Thanks again and again, Linda! Adios for now.

  • Linda's place is a hidden treasure. If you're looking for something cozy in a really special area, look no further. The Indian restaurant, a short walk from Linda's, was incredible. Before heading to hike to the Pioneer Tree at Samuel P. Taylor State Park, we stopped at the deli for delicious sandwiches. We were lucky that the Museum of Tea was open, as its only open from 10-2 on Saturdays. David was great and gave us a free tea tasting. We had Sol Food for dinner. There was a line but the huge plate of flavorful Peruvian food was worth it. On Sunday we did Pt. Reyes National Seashore to see the elephant seals. Huge and hilarious creatures. If you want to visit the Lighthouse, park at Drakes Beach to get a bus ticket. If you're visiting in January, know that the land is wet and it is cold but still magical. All in all, this stay was lovely. Quaint with hidden gems at every turn. Highly recommend.

Furnished condo with balconies in the front and the back. The condo is on the top 2nd floor of a 4 unit building. Lots of light and views. Convenient to 101, 37, downtown Novato and shopping at Vintage Oaks. All major appliances. COVID-19 safety is of utmost importance.
This is quiet relaxed community and in a convenient location.
The location is great and central to so many other places surrounding Novato, including San Francisco, Petaluma, Sonoma & Napa Counties, Wine Country, San Rafael to Sausalito and West Marin. Vintage Oaks shopping is just across the freeway.
  • Spencer is a wonderful host with a wonderful home! With a space right off of the 101, it was great for commuting during my 2 month stay. If you're looking for an extended stay, I definitely recommend Spencer, his place, and his great hospitality.

    Roy2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Spencer's place was perfect! The master bedroom was so cozy and a full private bathroom, sink and showers. I only had to share the space with Typhoon, a special kitty who likes to lay around relaxing With the sun shining through the windows. The workspace in the bedroom was ideal so that I could work on my video editing. The bedding was luxurious. Down comforter and sateen sheets. Nice! The apartment was well kept by Spencer and his roommate Sebastian who was helped me when I checked in late in a dark rainy night. I was welcome to use the kitchen and store food in the fridge. I would have liked to cook but I didn't have time as I was on the go a lot. I would definitely stay there again when I'm needing to stay over again in Novato! Thanks again guys! :)

  • Spencer was a pleasant and great host. I would definitely stay here again. I had no issues at all during my stay here.

  • Spencer was such a life saver! My boyfriend and I needed a last minute place to stay in San Fran. After an exhausting search through over priced rooms, we found Spencer's listing! His location and condo were beautiful! Not to mention he was such a down to earth, friendly and generous guy! Still soooooo grateful for this Airbnb!

    Kiannah2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • It is a quite place, and the host is a nice guy. I was staying there for about 11 week during my intern, the host is very quite, ensuring the privacy of my room. Spencer is a reasonable and polite host, and he offers all necessary supply such as laundry cleaner and soap. We also talked a lot, he is always very friendly and polite. I enjoy my stay here and I recommend this place to anyone who want to make a short stay in novato.

This 1970's reclaimed wooden house is a small part of history. Built with timbers from Fort Mason and an old buoy used as the main fireplace. We rent three bedrooms. Each has it's own full bathroom and queen bed. The house is three stories. Guests have full use of the kitchen living and common areas.
Fireplace is made from an old buoy found under the Golden Gate Bridge Due to the fire season in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa. For the safety of our guests and our house. There are no fires allowed in any of the house fire places. At anytime during the year. We have central heating, and fires are only allowed when it’s an allowable burn day designated by Marin county. We’re sorry to have to enforce this rule. We have three cats and one golden doodle dog. The cats and dog are not allowed in the guest rooms.
The area we live is spectacular and full of activities.
  • We had an amazing stay, the house has an amazing touch and the fire in the fireplace will remain a great memory.

  • This was a delightful place to stay while I visited the areas. The location is great....centrally located for sightseeing both North and South of Pt Reyes Station. Elizabeth and Gabriel were very welcoming, helpful and very hospitable.

  • We thoroughly appreciated the clean, quiet and comfortable bedroom in this cozy home. The Tomales Bay Area has poor cellular reception, but is one of our favorites for hiking and cruising the country road. The small town of Point Reyes Station is a quaint and timeless gem. A stay at this home, a short distance from town, is a perfect combination for a memorable weekend.

    Raquel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Gabriel’s. We only had a short stay, but the communication was great and so were the hosts. Our room was clean and fit our needs perfectly. We made friends with their very fluffy cat as well. Great location, interesting house.

  • This is how California should feel, it’s informal, voluptuous, sunshine on your face, good people, all-natural, sweet air, tall trees. Enjoy and be at peace.

  • Gabriel and Elizabeth’s place is quiet, clean, spacious and calming. It is a couple minutes drive to lovely restaurants and shops of the area. We appreciated the thoughtful decorations and the whole place made us feel at ease. Elizabeth was very nice, easy to talk to and very friendly when she welcomed us. I would definitely come again!

A stay with us includes a hearty breakfast before you head out. The San Geronimo Valley is located halfway between US 101 and the Pacific beaches of Marin County. Our home is in a very quiet, semi rural neighborhood, an easy 35 minute drive into San Francisco and there are many beautiful areas to explore. Since we live on a hillside, if you are unable to climb stairs, ours is not the best accommodation for you. There are about 20 stairs leading to the guest room from the parking pad.
We offer a room and bathroom (shower only, no tub) with a private entrance. The room has a queen bed, microwave and mini fridge. The room is not spacious, and the bathroom has a shower and is a small room, but as the reviews indicate, the accommodations are comfortable. The bathroom has a toilet which includes a small basin above the tank that delivers cold, potable water. It is the only sink in the bathroom. We do not accept pets or offer kitchen privileges.
The neighborhood is quiet and semi rural.
  • We loved our stay at Katie and John's! Beautiful location and nice room with very hospitable hosts.

  • Katie and Johns place is amazing! The Airbnb is in a wooded area, so you have really fresh air outside. The Airbnb also comes with a hot tub that you can use and the hosts are so amazing that they give you breakfast in the morning too! Stroll in minutes to the edge of the continent-the Pacific Ocean in all its glory. Sweet Haven is a light, airy, cozy place, with parks and beaches in every direction. Fully equipped kitchen (with decent knives!), full sized fridge, excellent wood stove (or push-button heater) for cool evenings, good lighting and comfortable places to sit and read. Your shower is a step outdoors under a clear roof. Bathroom is shared-just a few steps out the other door. The garden is full of flowers.
Down a quiet dirt road, through the wagon-wheel gate and the cheery blue door, Sweet Haven remakes a very large garage/workshop into a simple, calm garden home. The lofty L shaped kitchen-sitting room has windows to the garden on three sides. The inner room is a peaceful, newly created bedroom with a brass double bed and down comforter. The garden is yours to sit in and pick from and there might be tomatoes in the greenhouse (a nice place to sit on foggy days). There is a friendly dog on site, and another who will visit from next door. It is a pleasant walk downtown for groceries, a coffee or a picnic on the beach. Excellent hiking all around. We have internet, but are TV-free so you can unplug and sink in.
Quiet dirt roads, large fields, the ocean. National Parks, organic farms, blackberries along the road and a farm stand with everything local. An hour to the City when it is time for music, museums or just some hustle and bustle. Town offers tasty groceries, library, several restaurants and shops.
  • An ideal place to stay for the outdoor enthusiast looking to experience all Marin has to offer. A quick drive from the trails and the beach it’s a ideal base for surfing, hiking, and running. I highly recommend staying there.

  • This place is magic. You will be totally enchanted by the space -- and the outdoor shower. It rained every morning and the most delightful sight was waking up to the bright red pop of the geraniums just outside the window. There's so much privacy. It's such a special place I will be staying here again sooN!

  • Very comfortable and private guesthouse on the hills of Inverness. My wife and I really enjoyed exploring the area. The place is very cozy with lots of interesting art and outdoor decorations. The garden and koi pond create a very relaxing environment. Drinking tea or coffee on the patio in the morning and listening to the birds is the best part!

  • We spent 4 nights at this wonderful Airbnb and could have stayed longer. It was beyond comfortable, cozy, and zen. The setting is nourishment for the soul and we left, feeling relaxed & rejuvenated. We loved the space, the environment, and the yoga/meditation studio. We will be back!

    Karen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of those rare AirBNBs that makes you want to move and figure out how to live there. My girlfriend and I had just the getaway we needed. Inverness is so welcoming and relaxing and this place was perfect for resting and enjoying. The garden is sooooo relaxing and the bath with the open door (when I wanted) was perfect. The owner is an interior designer and it shows. I'd recommend this to anyone. This is one of those places that feels just like home, but the best part is there the area you stay isn't someone else's home, it's just for guests which makes it feel perfect for anyone.

  • Comfortable, welcoming home in one of the most gorgeous places around. Jim and Anne responsive and friendly hosts. Outdoor space (gardens and private tennis court) make this a rare and special find.

    Diane2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s house is an amazing oasis in Point Reyes, perfect for a family or two couples. We enjoyed hanging in the open living and dining room, next to the fireplace, and with tons of natural light. The outdoor space is a kid (and adult wonderland) with a great deck, a nice bbq area, a bocce court, tennis court, basketball hoop, and plenty of room to run around. Home is nicely located in quiet residential street only a 10min walk to the main drag in Pt Reyes. Beds were great too! Great value for the price. Would definitely stay again. Ps: we enjoyed meeting Jim, who greeted us on arrival, and took the time to play tennis with our daughter. Great host!

    Will2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place - beautiful views and many seating areas from which to enjoy the hills and fields. The house is super comfortable with everything one could possible want. Jim and Ann have thought of everything. I'd go back in a minute!

  • This is such a perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway from Bay Area for a couple/small family. The house is minutes away from all the restaurants and stores in town. The town itself is centrally located to many hikes and beaches. Jim's place is stunning. The backyard is just a dream to wake up to. We loved it and we would love to come back!

    Ravi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were two adult couples and enjoyed the Tennis House immensely. We felt welcomed and comfortable- the kitchen was well appointed and we were able to fix all our meals without lacking a thing. The gardens and grounds are lovingly taken care of - the tennis and bocce courts were a fun bonus. Luckily we had beautiful weather for hiking, exploring and relaxing, but the fireplace and coziness would have made it made it equally enjoyable had it been stormy. We were lacking for nothing and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Pt Reyes is one of my favorite places in the world and this is the perfect setting and location to enjoy it. The Tennis House is at the top of my list for future visits!

    Diana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Tennis House. Our friends loved the Tennis House! Both the inside space and the outside space were perfect for our birthday gathering. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we could wish for, from an oyster knife to a salad spinner, and the grill was a great extension of the kitchen space. How lovely to wake up in the mornings to sunshine on the ridge and a garden filled with fun things to do. We hope to visit again soon!

A uniquely designed, rustic cabin with sweeping views of the National Park and Black Mnt, located along the Inverness Ridge Trail - hiking and biking excursions right out the door. The cabin is next to a wood-shop which is not part of the living space and is unfinished, the outdoor space is also rustic and in some places unfinished. The road is steep and gravel paved, the cabin is atop the ridge at road’s end. Not for those seeking hotel-like experience - but immersed in nature and inspiring.
The cabin consists of an open main hall including a kitchen, dining room and living space, and bedroom a deck and a terraced yard. The yard has a great view and comfortable seating, the planting are natives that are not irrigated during the dry season.
The cabin is at the end of Sunnyside Road on the Inverness ridge trail. It is the last house before the National Seashore so it looks out onto an uninterrupted views of the Point Reyes National Seashore, Mt Wittenberg and Black Mountain.
  • If you enjoy great views, proximity to great hiking, absolute quiet, awesome stars, and eclectic architecture and furnishings, rent this place now! I’ve stayed in fancier places but none more interesting nor charming. Only one word of caution: it’s a long uphill drive on a narrow winding road, so don’t plan to head into town more than once a day!

    George2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking to get away from it all for a few days, this is the space for you! Peaceful, secluded, and right next to miles and miles of hiking trails. Gorgeous views, hot shower, wood for fires at night. Thank you, Bo, for creating a fun retreat space!

  • Please visit Point Reyes. It's beautiful, healing. And Bo's place? Quite perfect. Just make sure you have an SUV!

    Cheri2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is just as it is described - a very rustic, charming getaway with spectacular views and a welcoming, warm vibe. It is a perfect get away from everyday life. It definitely helped to have a 4WD vehicle and we were glad to have stocked up on groceries and kindling beforehand. Once you are in the cabin, you won't want to leave except to take a hike - and there is a trailhead right at the end of the driveway!! If you do venture out, the local towns of Inverness and Point Reyes are well-worth exploring and the drive to the seashore is easy. We went to Drakes Beach and the sea elephants were in mating season, so they were all along the beach (this was end of February). Overall, Bo's place was a fabulous experience.

    Margot2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place if you really want to get away from everything for some quiet time like writing, meditating or just relaxing and being quiet. Sitting in front of the wood stove at night in the darkness was really special, like camping, only with a soft, comfortable queen bed.

Fairfax is a quiet, funky neighborhood. It dates back to the early 1900's, so lots of old styles of architecture. Richly wooded streets and lots of wildlife. Downtown hosts many excellent restaurants, theater, live music venues and eclectic shopping. There is a huge cycling environment, both mountain bike and road biking. Fairfax is birthplace of mountain biking sporting its own mountain biking museum!
  • Leslie's place is comfortable. We didn't meet Leslie, but we had no problem checking in. The house is located in a quiet area.

  • Excellent hideaway for weekend or extended stays, super comfortable and surprisingly better than described. The negative review of road noise did not bother us at all. Host checked in with us immediately to remedy any issues found on arrival, of which there were none. This is how AirBnB should work every time.

    Michael2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fantastic location and beautiful vacation cottage. Spacious and well-appointed. And the wood-burning stove is the cherry on the top. If you're visiting the Point Reyes area you won't go wrong staying here.

    Zach2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is absolutely fantastic: gorgeous, open, cozy, and well-designed. I'd definitely come back and recommend that others stay here.

    Mark2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We’re big lovers of Marin but had never spent deliberate time in Inverness and loved our two days tremendously, by and large for the home we found in this well equipped and cozy cabin. David and Sandhya were wonderful, attentive hosts and provided all the guidance and special touches to make our stay seamless and meaningful. Great location, clean, comfortable, and grounding space. We especially took advantage of the the wood stove and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and working our way through the record collection. We’d happily return!

Charming room/private entrance, directly bordering 100 acre steep forest with creek, for your retreat space to unwind...feel the deep dark starry nights, owls hooting the only sound...wake up to the many-bird symphony, forest bathe over breakfast and explore the endless nature trails all around! RE: CURRENT SCARE: --YOU MAY TELECOMMUTE FROM HERE --YOU MAY UNPLUG HERE --OUR AREA IS NOT HUMAN-DENSE --WE HAVE OUTDOOR FARMERS MARKETS --WE SCREEN, AND SANITIZE, NO NEED TO SHARE MUCH
We are located at the end of the road bordering a huge inacessible forest (you can walk 100 feet into it on trail for forest immersion, and creek magic)
We are at the end of a quiet paved country road. One can walk 10 min to the farmstand, or the saloon, even to a deli in 20 min.
  • If you like a quiet place in a wooded area and the freedom to prepare your own meals, this is a place you should consider. It's not fancy, do not expect modern, luxury amenities. It is rustic, and as such you might have to deal with things that might seem slightly primitive. One thing you can count on is that Saskia is a wonderful host. She likes to share her local knowledge of hikes, restaurants and other things of interest in the area. She was quick to communicate any issues that might arise. Extremely like-able and probably the main reason we will be back.

    Luis2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great rustic getaway. if you're trying to disappear into the woods this is a good place to do it. Saskia is hardworking and funny. Very knowledgeable about the area as well.

    Jules2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and great value

    Melissa2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time booking with Saskia and I've loved my time here! The house provides a nice retreat in the forest and the rooms are charming and very homey. Saskia is a wonderful and caring host and made sure I was comfortable during my stays and had great recommendations and local tips. There are some friendly foster dogs that are residents, but they are only in the communal areas of the hosue if all guests are comfortable with them but they do not go into the bedrooms. Overall the house and rooms are clean and cozy. I would definitely recommend staying with Saskia if you are looking for a nice communal house in nature. I definitely plan on staying here again when I am in the area!!

    Rachel2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is extremely magical and gorgeous! And Saskia is a generous and thoughtful host. I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

    Stephanie2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Saskia was incredible! I came to do some writing / mountain biking over winter break and it was a great place to do so. There was a good balance of privacy in the room and community in the shared kitchen and living areas with the host and other guests. The host actively maintained cleanliness throughout the stay, and had great recommendations on nearby nature spots and local meditation events. I enjoyed that the place was "lived in" and not perfectly organized. Saskia is a dog rescuer, so the property is home to several friendly dogs. I fell in love with a few of them! They are only let in the house if you let Saskia know you're ok with it. The check in instructions tell you to call Saskia upon arrival; I would recommend giving her a ring when you get to Forest Knolls as she can help you get to the right driveway. Overall, I felt at home. I made lifelong memories and shared many laughs with new friends, and plan on visiting again soon. I would recommend any of the rooms to my friends who are open to community living, laid back, outdoorsy, and looking for connection to the places in which they travel. This was so much more interesting of a stay than a sterilized and isolating hotel room somewhere, and all for a budget price. If you are planning on staying here with any expectation of things being in perfect order, find a less interesting Airbnb or book a hotel room :)

    Ian2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • A truly magical spot! My partner and I felt like we were staying in a little home straight out of Harry Potter. Saskia is very helpful and made us feel at home. I hope to stay here again soon.

    Shannon2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Saskia is a generous and welcoming host, her home is a wild place in the womb of wilderness. Enjoy it as it is :)

On arrival you will find the space to be well appointed including a small refrigerator, Nespresso machine, microwave, tv and internet channels including Netflix and Pandora, as well as wifi for use with your personal devices.
San Geronimo is a quiet neighborhood with a lot of history. At the base of our hill, you can find the Two Bird Cafe which serves an amazing breakfast and is popular with the locals. For evening entertainment you can venture into Fairfax (just 10 minutes away) or visit the Papermill Creek Saloon in Forest Knolls (5 minutes away) which features live music most nights.

  • Marianne's place is a lovely little spot located in the redwood mountains. The view from just the room is astonishing. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for nice, simple, and clean accommodation. They have plenty of space for your stuff, a fridge, some hangers, a modern bathroom and even a bottle opener for when you forget to bring one with your wine! My boyfriend and I went to explore some of Point Reyes nearby and felt super comfortable relaxing here at the end of the day . :)

    Kemper2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so great! A bit of a trek driving up the hill after dark the first time, but worth every second to wake up with that view. We highly enjoyed breakfast at Two Bird Cafe, and Muir Woods and Sonoma were both super reachable for us to explore during the day. The little patio space outside was great for relaxing even when a little chilly.

This large cozy wood room in charming rustic 1976 farmhouse is quite private from the center with the facilities. You'll have your own entrance and large porch with rocking chairs, to gaze at the stars .. no streetlights! We border 100s of acres of forest...no street noise, just animal neighbors in forest.. RE: CURRENT SCARE: --YOU MAY TELECOMMUTE FROM HERE --YOU MAY UNPLUG HERE --OUR AREA IS NOT HUMAN-DENSE --WE HAVE OUTDOOR FARMERS MARKETS --WE SCREEN, AND SANITIZE, NO NEED TO SHARE MUCH
This farmhouse, as proven by a time capsule you can view, was built in 1976 by a local architect and a bunch of rather unorthodox owner-builders ( you can kind of tell...) There are 3 add'l cottages nearby with their own facilities, co-housing style . We keep the 'vibe' easy-going, flexible, and above all ,mellow... a perfect home base from where to enjoy the natural wonders of our extended backyard of all the huge amazing nature recreation areas. Enjoy your home-cooked, low-cost meals in our vegetarian kitchen, after shopping at all the local organic farms and healthfoodstore in bohemian village Fairfax just 10 minutes east.. We keep the place rustic, au naturel, so please dont expect fancy landscaping etc. ...We live here so there are always projects in motion. Expect quiet, privacy , and youth hostel style accommodations, sprinkled with hospitality as we think travelers are magic!
We are the cul-de-sac of a small country road in a small village, consisting of a farmstand, and a historic saloon Janis Joplin fame, and a lot of 70's musicians made this area their home back in the days, incl the Grateful Dead, maybe the reason why Jerry Garcia chose to leave his body in a cabin on our road. A mile or 2 west we have the local hangout, the Lagunitas deli., an indian restaurant. and Samuel Taylor redwoods state park. A mile or 2 west we have another restaurant , Roys Redwoods Sate Park ( redwood grove bathing!), and Spirit Rock Meditation Center on 100's of acres. in 30 minutes you are in bohemian village Bolinas,or Stinson Beach, and in 20 min. in Pt Reyes Station with many visitor amenities. In 30 minutes amazing drive you are on the endless, wild Limantour Beach. The entire Point Reyes national seashore peninsula is at your fingertips to let the ocean air refresh you. If entertainment is your thing after all that nature, Fairfax just 10 min east, has plenty of that, and restaurants.and a huge healthfood store and deli.
  • Amazing proximity to nature. Saskia is extremely accommodating. Will definitely be back.

    James2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Saskia’s place was surrounded by magical trees, stars and exotic birds! We’ve all had great time there! I would definitely go back!

    Ssle2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Saskia was a very welcoming and open host. She was eager to tell us about the area and told us about the fascinating history of the home. It's at the end of the road and was easy to navigate thanks to her instructions. The location is wonderful for stargazing and has a great communal kitchen space. We made sure to take advantage of it by cooking our own meals. Even though we arrived during the bomb cyclone, we stayed cozy and warm in this room.

    Amy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Both Saskia and her place are wonderfully eclectic. If you approach life in an open and accepting way, and you are looking for a special place to stay with something different, then this is your place. It's hard to put into words exactly what it was - but I had a beautiful experience, and would definitely stay there again.

    Brian2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Saskia’s place is an unconventional gem! Beautiful location in the hills of Marin County. Rustic shared cabin environment with a gorgeous deck for sitting and appreciating the ample wildlife, especially birds. Don’t expect to be pampered, but the porch room was clean and orderly and the communal areas are lovely. Saskia knows all the nature spots in the area. Fairfax is an adorable little town about 10mins away with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and small town NorCal vibes. I’m sure I’ll be back for another quiet respite.

    Damien2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This porch room in Saskia's house is a perfect rustic forest retreat! The room is comfortable and spacious, so it works as a crash pad or a place to hang out if you just want to be cozy in a cabin in the woods. The house is all the way at the end of a road, so the scenery and silence is hard to beat. We had great weather, so we enjoyed sitting on the front porch with tea in the mornings and evenings. The kitchen was well-stocked, the wifi worked well, and the location was perfect--20 minutes to all the fun stuff you want to do in West Marin. I'd definitely stay here again!

    Monica2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • It’s everything you need and more. The location is great, private and quite, and you have easy access to all the amenities you could want without breaking the bank!

    Adela2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at Saskias place. The room was clean and cosy and the rural area is just stunning. Saskia welcomed me in person, showed me my parking spot and the property. She is a lovely host and has a lot of insider tips for the area. We even joined forces to carpool to a local climat strike event :-) The place is very close to big sur where you can go hiking and enjoying wildlife and the ocean. I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys nature! Thank you Saskia for opening your home to me!

  • Chris has made a one of a kind stay with his skills and attention to detail. It's a great place to launch into the PT Reyes or Bolinas area without being too far away. Also very quiet and cosy.

    Kel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was very engaging and kind. The place was rather exotic, very well appointed, and attractive. The wood stove is as efficient as it gets. The kitchen and bathroom are more than adequate; and it was really nice having the use of a washer and dryer. The chickens are friendly. All in all, a great host and a cool place to stay.

    Paul2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time staying in a yurt and in won’t be our last! Cozy on a cold night and far enough off the beaten path to make you feel like you’re glamping while still being two minutes away from Indian takeout. Chris was a great host and we certainly recommend this unique space.

    Sydney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charming yurt in a peaceful setting! We really enjoyed staying in Chris's yurt. The yurt was clean and well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable. When we arrived, Chris had already set up a fire in the fireplace, which made the yurt feel warm and cozy. The yurt was located in amongst some trees, in a secluded part of the yard, which gave us privacy and a quiet, peaceful setting.

My place is close to Point Reyes National Sea Shore and Tomales Bay, . You’ll love my place because of the great views from every room and 6 acres of hiking trails on property. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and fitness enthusiasts.Having lived in West Marin for 48 years I have hiked all of Marin County and have many recommendations for ultimate adventure hikes. Those who are interested in improving their health can learn from my 48 years of daily making fresh raw vegetable juice
The house has 62 windows and is high on a ridge that looks out without seeing any other houses.Recently a bird watching couple spotted 33 kinds of birds during a 30 minute walk around my 6 acres. I have 16 chairs with cushions placed on the trails, to sit and take in the views of Tomales Bay and the surrounding mountains. Take the 43 picture tour and see it.
Laurel Street is a dead end street up on a ridge in the woods and is super quiet.
  • Randy’s big room has GREAT views of Tomales Bay :) He also takes time to talk to you if you ask him for great local spots where to hike, where to see sunset, etc. Everything is as pictured. The place can also be a great place to just chill, especially with his home theater. He’s a Cadillac enthusiast and music aficionado, makes up for great conversations.

  • We only stayed at Randy’s place one night but it was great! Randy’s place is very spacious and has a great view from the bedroom! We had such a nice time talking with Randy about music and other similar interests! Thanks Randy!

    Alexandra2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's advice and local knowledge really helped us make the most of a quick stay in Point Reyes. Plus, the home is at a super convenient location with beautiful views you can see just from the window.

    Grace2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Randy’s place can’t be beat. He is very welcoming and the view is outstanding. The whole house- particularly the bathroom and bedroom- were super clean. The bed is so comfortable and what a treat to sleep looking out the window at the stars.

    Shari2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Randy’s place is exactly as advertised! He is a fantastic resource for local adventures, and makes check-in & check-out super easy. We loved the massive windows from the room; it truly felt like such an escape from our city life. We can’t wait to come back for all the adventures we didn’t get to the first time - thanks again Randy!

    Grace2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, probably the best I've got in an Airbnb. Large French windows provide great view throughout the hoise. Peaceful and quiet getaway, just what we needed. Randy is a great host and offers great conversation.

  • Worked well for me for a single night visit with short notice to Randy. Lovely views and a very quiet place to sleep!

  • This place was so great! Robyn was so friendly and helpful. The amenities were great. The space was new, comfortable and clean. I was sad to leave!

    Jamie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The worst kept secret is how great it is to stay at Robyn’s place. The bed is so comfortable that you feel rested reenergized after just one sleep. It feels very private and secluded nestled in amoungst the lovely plants. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you need and more. This is our second visit, but not the last.

    Valerie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Robyn’s tiny house is clean, attractive, open, and welcoming. Extra gestures of anticipating food needs (eggs, half-and-half, English muffins...) were much appreciated. The surrounding garden space made it welcoming and pleasant to sit outside. We enjoyed out stay!

    Jennifer2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet space Very clean It had everything we needed and hosts were so nice and always available

    Andrea2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far one of my favorite places to stay. I am hesitant to write how much I love it because I am afraid it will be booked up the next time I am in town. It is lovely in every way.

    Amy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to stay at Robyn and Johann’s place. Hosts are happy, wonderful people, which is reflected in the overall quality of the accommodation and experience they provide to their guests. The cottage is very private, and situated in a peaceful and attractive neighborhood of family homes, with an easy access to the highway and city center. While not enormous, the unit is of high quality, cozy, well organized, and stocked with about everything you might need. Communication was seamless. Certainly, a great place to stay while visiting Marin and Northern California.

    Alexei2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Robyn and co hosts were very warm, kind and kept great communication the entire time. The space itself has everything you could need, very stylish and cute not to mention the area and their yard which was beautiful and peaceful. Definitely worth staying at.

The Maple Cottage sits on a 12-acre property surrounded by trees with a view of Tomales Bay. This clean, modern studio is bright and open with high wood ceilings, radiant-heat floors, king bed, full bath, Coyuchi linens and EO soaps.
PLEASE NOTE: We have another rental home, FoxGlove Retreat, on the same property, adjacent to the Maple Cottage. These can be rented together or separately. Together they can comfortably sleep 8 adults. The Maple Cottage was lovingly designed by the owners to be a retreat for their friends and family. Surrounded by trees and tasteful landscaping, the cottage's large screenless windows on all sides make this studio light and spacious. There are three buildings on the property. One is the owners' home, which has a completely separate parking and entry area. The second structure is the Maple Cottage, and the third is FoxGlove, a 3 bedroom house sometimes used as a vacation rental as well. The Maple Cottage is freestanding, but we do want to make it clear that there is a home on each side of the cottage, and there may be a few other people around. That said, we've had few complaints from guests, as you can see from the reviews. We're all here to enjoy the serenity.
The cottage is 150 yards from a quiet residential road that only sees a handful of cars each day. Most of the homes on our road are tucked back into the forest on long driveways. Just strolling up and down our road is a lovely hike, with plenty of plants and wildlife to take in. No streetlights, no light pollution, no noise. Just peace and quiet. We have a wonderful "recommendations" letter we can send you, full of local information, tips, suggestions, cautions, etc...
  • Beautiful home with really interesting architecture on a peaceful property with a view. Very close to Point Reyes Station and to the national seashore. Roomy space with a king sized bed. No cooking facilities so you can enjoy the local food. The wifi works well but note there is no TV.

  • Aaron has amazing info, do everything he suggests! We loved our stay, very comfortable and clean space that’s the perfect location to explore the area. We can’t wait to come back :)

    Aubrey2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the lovely views of the bay and the comfy bed to come back to after our adventures. The host worked really hard to provide lots of great local suggestions, too.

  • Great space, and excellent hosts!

    Samuel2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Maple Cottage is one of my favorite Airbnb stays yet. The main appeal of Point Reyes is its pristine and stunning nature, and the Cottage provides the perfect observatory to immerse in the area’s surrounding beauty. When waking up with all of the shades open (a luxury enjoyed by the fact that there happened to not be any occupants in the neighboring buildings for the duration of our stay), we were able to see the sunrise through the trees. The views here are truly unbeatable. Aaron clearly takes a lot of pride in this space, and it has a lot of very special and thoughtful touches, from a book collection about local food and history, to comfortable bathrobes. The heat also worked perfectly, which was much appreciated as it was in the 30s at night! Usually when I travel I’m out and about a lot, but the space really invites you to slow down and observe - you can enjoy the outdoor environments in a comfortable, serene space. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! We hope to visit the Maple Cottage and the splendor of Point Reyes again someday soon.

    Mara2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Aaron's place for the weekend at Point Reyes and it was very pleasant. Getting in was a little difficult (we arrived on a pouring night), but once we settled in, we felt very comfortable. Nice bed, clean space, and enough amenities. These are all we wanted for a nice weekend at Point Reyes Station. Aaron was very prompt with our questions and gave us helpful tips for the place as well as for interesting local spots/activities.

Please note: The room only has one queen bed. Despite what the Airbnb listing says. We cannot change the description on Airbnb so far.
  • Lovely home, friendly guests, beautiful location. All the best in a wonderful part of the world.

    Nat2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, super clean, friendly hosts! What's not to love? Just don't expect the best connection to the wifi, when we went it was very temperamental. But honestly, the house and the environment around make it inconsequential.

    Jessica2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

  • There is a lot of local character to be found in every detail at the reclaimed wood chalet. We we were surrounded by quiet nature, and located very near the town and in the center of The Point Reyes National Seashore park preserve.

  • Beautiful home, comfortable and clean room, perfect location.

    Andrea2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house just a minute or two from ‘downtown’ Point Reyes Station. My room was perfect for me. A comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Exactly what I wanted. Very quiet and private- as someone who was leaving before 7.00am every morning and going to bed at 9.00 pm it was everything I could have hoped. Highly recommended.

The Captain’s Cabin -- Welcome This is the upper unit of a two unit house. For larger groups we recommend renting both units. This unit has a full kitchen, dinning room, large living room with a wood burning fireplace (with a queen high from the ground brand new blow-up mattress), two bedrooms (one queen size bed and two singles), and two full bathrooms. Please note the two single beds are located in a room referred to as the sleeping porch (our personal favorite room of the house) adjoining the master bedroom. Guests staying in the sleeping porch must walk through the master bedroom to access a bathroom. There is one parking spot included with this unit and additional parking available on the side of the house. There is a gas and a charcoal grill available for your use. This unit also has beautiful and large back deck with sweeping views of the bay. This house reflects the lives of my grandparents. My grandfather was a master mariner by profession. He sailed in the American Merchant Marine from the 1920s to the 1940s, circumnavigating the globe more than 25 times. His wartime service was as captain of the Liberty ship, SS John Fiske, whose identifying plaque from the ship’s bridge is on the eastern exterior wall next to the steering wheel. When they retired in the 1970s, my grandparents chose this location so that he and my mother could have a quiet life in the woods, but at the same time could see the horizon and part of the sea. The tree-top setting is just a half-mile from the town of Inverness with its store, post office, café, and restaurants; and a ten-minute drive from the restaurants, shops and weekend Farmers’ Market of Point Reyes Station. Beaches, hiking trails and the Point Reyes National Seashore are within walking distance or a short car ride, and the south-facing deck is sunny and warm all day. But don't take our word for it--read what the New York Times had to say about Salt Water, the local restaurant, and the delights of the wider area. '36 hours in Marin County', 27 Jan. 2013. We hope that you enjoy our house, enter into its spirit enjoying the views of Tomales Bay, the hills, woods and beaches of western Marin and Elephant Mountain bathed in the ever- changing light of the Point Reyes Peninsula, a very special ‘Island in Time’. • Point Reynes happens to be one of my most favorite places in CA. Our stay here added to the beautiful scenery of Point Reynes. The view is so beautiful and the decor is very cozy and inviting. I will for sure rebook this place when we come back to Point Reynes.

  • Had a wonderful weekend getaway at Dino’s place. Everything is as described. The hot tub was turned on and ready before we arrived and was such a nice treat especially after a day of hiking. Would definitely book this place again!

  • Such a wonderful place to spend New Years! Upon arriving, we really enjoyed meeting Dino & her sweet pup and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful setting Dino’s home sits in. We loved our private bedroom & deck, comfy bed, great shower and delicious coffee each morning. A special treat to relax in the private hot tub after our fantastic 10 mile hike on NYE! We loved the location! Close enough to town to walk to dinner our first night, and right around the corner from a meadery, called Heidrun - our first time to one and we loved learning & tasting their delicious champagne’s! Such a memorable time for us in beautiful Point Reyes Station, we will definitely look to stay with Dino again on a future visit!

    David & Mychele2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little spot that is private and a close walk to Point Reyes station. The hot tub was clean and extra toasty! We had a great time and look forward to booking again.

  • Dino's place in Pt. Reyes Station is a wonderful spot for a weekend stay. So close to the little downtown area! The hot tub was such a treat. Everything was clean and tidy.

  • Dino's room was the perfect place for us to unwind and relax for a few days. Her response time was so quick, and she made sure we were comfortable during our stay. The location is less than a 5 minute drive from a ton of eateries (like Side Street Kitchen, Cowgirl Creamery), the market, a hardware store, and other cute stores (we loved Toby's!). But of course our favorite part was the hot tub, which was perfect after a long day of hiking. We would highly recommend Dino's place for anyone wanting to escape the city life.
