Places to stay in Saint Albans City

Places to stay in Saint Albans City
I have a cozy, quaint, country chic home that I take great pride in. It's a 7 minute walk to Lake Champlain, the new marina, Bayside Pavillion Restaurant and bar, a fishing pier as well as a local park with farmers markets and running paths. A 5 minute drive brings you to the heart of St. Albans town. Surrounded by another park, breweries, shops and restaurants. I live on a very quiet street. 40 minutes to Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch.
I am very accommodating and want my home to feel like yours. I have full screened in porch, grill, fire pit, garden and fenced in yard. I have a cozy living room with an electric fireplace that gives off a nice ambiance. I have a fully functioning kitchen that I am happy to share! I do live in my home with my two dogs Wesson & Tucker, a boxer mix and a lab that only bark when you come to the door!
I live in a very sweet, safe area down near the lake! I’m located on a quiet residential side street! When you are relaxing in my backyard or screened in porch, you will think you are in you’re own little private world!
  • Tamara is a wonderful host! She truly makes her home feel like yours while you are her guest. Her home is beautiful and the bedroom for Airbnb is very nice with a comfortable bed. She added many thoughtful touches to the space as well, such as snacks and toiletries. If I am ever in the area in the future I would absolutely stay here again!

  • Very homey and welcoming. Price was great. Great place for relaxation and solitude. Close to everything.

  • This place is the best place I'm gone since I use RB&B (few years)... The place is great, clean, comfortable and Tamara had so many way to make us at ease... Thanks a lot for every things... Tamara, Wesson and Tucker 💕

    Catherine2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I don't know where to begin with my praise for Tamara's outstanding hospitality, her attentiveness and eye for detail! Having been her first guest, I for sure was treated like a princess! In fact, the room is so cozy and just perfect for one person. I could even get some work done at the desk by the window (I just loooove the view!). The skylight added to the snugness, especially when it rained or hailed. There are even little snacks and toiletries provided for free. Everything was easy, practical and clean: sharing one bathroom, cooking in the oh-so-well-equipped kitchen or chilling in the spacious living room. A perfect place for dog lovers as Wesson and Tucker love to be around people and indeed want to be petted all day long! :)

Comfortable and cozy, one bedroom apartment conveniently located in the residential district of historic downtown St. Albans City. Walking distance to downtown shopping, restaurants and businesses. Off-street parking is available. Public bus transportation picks up just down the street. Perfect for travelers in town on business or events.
Within walking distance to downtown St. Albans City. Main Street offers local retail shops, art galleries, restaurants, farmer’s market on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. Very close to the train station as well for those coming in via train.
  • The greatest place to be in St Albans very close to everything that you would love to see and do. Highly recommended

  • This was my second time in St. Albans. Driving all the way from New Jersey, I was so pleased and happy when I arrived to Lisa's home. It was so clean and cozy and offered me exactly what I needed after a long drive. I would check her guide book for food and other suggestions because that's where I found out about Twiggs Gastropub, where I had a great meal. I highly recommend Lisa's studio, and I would def come back again.

  • Great place, and wonderful host!

  • Great stay while I was in town ice fishing.

    Owen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Airbnb right in town walking distance to everything! Perfect for a couple or single person. It was cozy and had cute little details to give the full VT experience (moose mugs, maple syrup in the fridge). Super clean and great set up. Definitely recommend and would stay again!

    Mary2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • You need not look any further for a well priced apartment walking distance to "downtown Saint Albans" and Amtrak. There are a ton of well thought out amenities and it truly is a perfectly cozy place to stay. Will return again and again!

    Sarah2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, convenient to downtown and train station. Apartment was also very comfortable and clean.

    Brian2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location walking distance to downtown. Probably the best stocked kitchen I have seen in a air b&b! Hosts even had the place decorated nice for the Christmas holidays.... saw one post with a lady saying the entrance was hard because she was a senior, there is 2 exits and the emergency exit is the harder one, not the normal one. Thanks for our stay

Our second unit is centrally located 1/2 mi. From downtown. All modern amenities and off street parking are included in this spacious, restful space. The kitchen is fully equipped for short or long term stays and we welcome well behaved pets. You'll be expected to keep dog on leash while outside and to scoop the poop. Most of the year there is a large, accessible yard and gardens. Very enjoyable space.
Our space has a private entrance, off street parking, great a/c and is quiet and peaceful!
  • This apartment was so great! If it wasn’t so far from my job I would have loved to stay longer! Clean, quiet and everything you would need for a long stay! I stayed 6 weeks and have no complaints! Huge open yard area for my dogs to run around. Driveways were always plowed and neighbors were friendly! I even received a little welcome food plate with cheese, crackers, and grapes upon my arrival! Would highly recommend! Laundry on site for a very reasonable fee too!

    Derik2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Connie's place was just lovely! We went in the middle of February - a cold month for sure. However, the cold was not a problem as the house was super warm :) Upon arriving, Connie had left us a platter of grapes, cheese and crackers which I have to say was a very sweet touch and came in handy as we had be on the road all day. Wifi was provided and there is a laundry room on the ground floor which was super convenient. There is a parking lot available and plenty of food places nearby, not to mention Connie's place came with a bunch of pamphlets filled with suggestions for restaurants and other amenities. All in all, we had a great stay and are actually thinking of returning for the summer!

    Maria2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Connie’s place was fantastic! I just moved from Ohio and needed a temporary place to stay until I found an apartment. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Connie is amazing, and was there anytime I needed to reach out. I stayed a little over a month and if it was closer to work I would’ve stayed longer. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone!

Camping site on lake Champlain. Site includes a Tiny House for sleeping with a small building with toilet and sink and lake water. We have a futon for sleeping, however we do not supply the bedding. This is a large private lot with full access to Lake Champlain and is also located on the Vermont bike route.
The camp site has a Tiny House for sleeping and is located right on Lake Champlain. It has a futon and a rollaway bed for sleeping. Because we supply the Tiny House for sleeping for only two guest we no longer allow campers or tents on the property as they kill the grass. However we do allow parents with one child as long as the child sleeps in the building with parents.
The camping site is located on Lake Champlain approximately 35 miles north of Burlington Vermont.
  • This little camp has all the charm and location shown in its write up. Although my travel plans changed several times during the week, my host was kind, patient, and responsive!! I will be sure to make plans to stay here in the future. Great location, close to UVM, close to Montreal, close to nature!! Thanks, Cindy!

    Sharon2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so great, we adored the cabin and location!!

    James2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! The other reviews already describe the property pretty well. Definitely a memorable stay!

    Dominique2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin right on the lake with a spacious deck that's ideal for sunbathing and admiring the beautiful views. The fire pit is a bonus as well. This is a great place for those looking to get away and enjoy time in nature, while at the same time being a short drive from local attractions and shops in St. Albans. Cindy and Phil are gracious hosts and attentive hosts. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back!

    Monica2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great little get away! It is right on the water and has beautiful sunsets! We were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement on the front porch and a paper listing everything going on in the area. There are also brochures for various activities in the local area as well as playing cards and tic tac toe. There are a couple picnic tables and some chairs to sit on the deck and take in the amazing view. There is a bathroom with a flush toilet and running water set a bit back from the cabin. Top everything off with a rip roaring fire at night and this place is the perfect mixture of roughing it and a home away from home! Cindy and her husband were very welcoming and sweet. They stopped by to check in on us the first and second night and we talked for quite a bit! They are very kind and understanding. For things to do....St. Albans is a cute little town about 15 minutes away - we recommend Mimmo’s if you like Italian. Burlington is about 30 minutes away and has a bunch of great breweries/distilleries/cideries. This place is far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close to the necessities if you need to make a pit stop!

    Jennifer2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was perfect for me! It is very simple, but has everything you need. The deck is unbeatable and the sunsets amazing! Cindy and Phil responded right away when I had questions. I will definitely be back!

    Melissa2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable hut, ideal for folks used to tent or RV camping. Cindy and Phil are hard-working, warm people, and it's amazing for us city people how much of the property Phil has built with his own hands. Land has been in Cindy's family for some generations and the host's connection makes this stretch of beach even more special

    Natalie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was great. Cindy and Phil were friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The tiny structure was great for sleeping. The views were great and we enjoyed swimming in the lake. It isn't far to get to several destinations in Vermont from here.

  • This is our second time staying at Poulin Shores. We all always have the best time. Chris is an amazing host and responds to any questions so quickly. The cabin is located on a quite street and the lake views are breath taking. Thanks so much for letting us share your little slice of heaven.

    Jonathan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a great place to stay in a perfect location make sure you give this place a shot. Chris is a great host and was very helpful with things to do around the area. The cottage is clean and very spacious and was a lot bigger than we expected, The bed we slept on was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for all you need to prepare a meal. We also loved the firepit by the water which was a great end to our day, Grocery shopping was also only a ten minute drive to town. This was our first trip to Vermont for fall foliage which was spectacular anywhere we went. We visited Stowe, Burlington, Winooski, Montpelier, Waterbury, St. Albans, Swanton, Malletts Bay, Colchester and Cambridge to name a few. We also took a Gondola ride to the top of Mt. Mansfield which was breathtaking to see all of color of the trees and is a must do if coming to Vermont to see fall foliage. Thank you to Chris for providing us with a perfect first trip to Vermont!!

    Vincent2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • You simply won’t find a more peaceful place to stay! Such an amazing value, so much space and bigger than photos capture. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and the scenery cannot be beat. In fact, we went on a “scenic” train ride tour in Burlington and said to ourselves “we should have stayed at the cabin, we have better scenery there!”. We ate all our meals by the water, had coffee in the screened in porch every morning, woke up in the front bedroom to sunrise over the lake, and had cozy fires at night. If you’re looking for somewhere fancy this isn’t the place, but if you’re looking for somewhere simple, clean, and relaxing don’t miss the chance to stay here!

    Jenna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was in good working condition and you need nothing . House description and amenities are all very accurate!. Wonderful place right on the water. I couldn't have ask for anything better! Chris was very responsive! Thank you again

Breakfasts (and treats!) are to die for, and you can't beat the beautiful sunsets on the river. We love the Secret Passage and we're sure you will too!

  • One of the best airbnb experiences I've had. Beautiful location, comfortable bed, and an absolutely AMAZING breakfast of freshly made pancakes each morning. I couldn't recommend it more.

    Allison2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Going to Vermont was a childhood dream of mine, and it could have easily be ruined had I not chosen to stay at Alisha's place. The farmhouse and its location (conveniently close to the beautiful town of Burlington, yet on a quiet place of outstanding natural beauty) combined with Alisha and Tim's warm and generous personalities make this accommodation really special!! Breakfast with locally sourced ingredients was to die for! Bella, their Himalayan cat, is a big plus to the experience!! I cannot wait to go back. Thank you guys!!

    Titos2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha and Tim were wonderful hosts. Alisha was very accommodating and responsive with our need to check in late night and even had scones waiting for us when we arrived. They were both very helpful in suggesting wonderful places for us to visit and giving us tips to help us make the most of our time in Vermont. We felt as though we were staying with friends. We look forward to scheduling a return trip.

    Ingrid2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha and Tim go the extra mile! You can tell they’ve put their heart and soul into making their BNB the wonderful oasis that it is. You will love the views, the breakfasts, the fluffy Himalayan cat that looks like a massive bunny rabbit. Everything was wonderful and we will return again and again!

    Lauren2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • When staying at this bed and breakfast you can expect a clean, cozy old farmhouse atmosphere. The front porch welcomes each of the guests as they arrive with special touches. We had everything we needed and never had to ask for anything because they already had thought of it. Alisha and Tim are the best hosts and we look forward to staying with them in the future.

Our beautiful home is situated on 12 acres over-looking the hamlet of St. Albans and the islands of Lake Champlain. The view spans from Whiteface Mountain in New York to the far north of Canada. On clear days we can see the skyline of Montreal, Quebec! Come, relax, enjoy the sunset. #incredibleviewvt
A comfortable home with plenty of space and lots of room to spread out with a private room and bath to call your own. Our deck is the perfect place to unwind and soak in the beauty of northern Vermont. #incredibleviewvt
You have to look hard to see a neighbor but you don't have to look far to see the beauty of what we call home.
  • You will absolutely love this beautiful place. The view of Lake Champlain is awesome. You will feel so lucky to have found such a nice place to stay. And there cute dog will love you like family. Brad Wills from Mansfield Ma

    Brad2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • When I first realized that St. Albans was 30 minutes north of Burlington, I was worried we wouldn't have access to night life or cafes for breakfast during our long weekend. I was certainly wrong! St. Albans has two breweries, three cafes, and lots of restaurants to try. There's even a speak-easy if you can find it. Dave and Sue's home is located slightly out of town, but they are willing to be your designated driver if you need one for the evening. They aren't kidding when they say you should have an all wheel drive car to reach their home in winter though - my manual civic was able to make it up the first hill, but we had to park at the bottom of their driveway and walk the rest of the way up. If you are undeterred by a steep uphill walk, their view is definitely worth it - Lake Champlain and New York State are both visible, even on hazy days, and the stars are overwhelming on clear nights. When you do want to head into Burlington, they are located near I-89, so you'll be there in no time. I'm definitely looking forward to future visits in other seasons to see what else the area has to offer, and when I do visit the area, I hope I can stay with Dave and Sue again.

    Melissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancee and I stayed at Dave & Sue's place for a wedding. Though we didn't have the opportunity to meet Sue, our interactions with Dave were very helpful and informative. Their space was very clean and nicely laid out. The view from their property is absolutely breathtaking (the pictures don't do it justice). I would highly recommend that anyone who needs a place to stay in the St. Albans area to check out Dave & Sue's place.

    Dylan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were very comfortable staying at Sue and Dave's place. They took the time to introduce us to the area and the lower level of their home, where we had a pleasant and very clean place to stay and rest. The views are spectacular. I would highly recommend this home and its owners to friends looking for a place to stay in northern Vt.

    Mary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dave & Sue are amazing hosts only matched by the views they will show you once you arrive. They are extremely warm and welcoming people. Their home is sparkling clean with very comfortable mattresses, a private level of their home for the guests, and a playful little puppy that will always entertain. They offered us beverages, fresh picked Vermont apples or rides into town. They are "all-star superhosts."

    Joseph2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Dave are very nice, friendly, and hospitality. Sue waited outside to welcome us. And she recommended nearby attractions and restaurants. The most wonderful is their house is an incredible scenic view point, especially at sunset. The park nearby is a wonderful site to view Lake Champlain. The rooms are very cozy and the beds are comfortable. We also have a private living room and bedroom to use. We highly recommend their house for a great vacation stay. It could not be better.

    志萍2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Dave & Sue's place was a true gem. The view from the home is beautiful. The space is roomy, quiet, private and comfortable. Sue and Dave gave great directions and recommendations for our short time in St Albans. Thanks so much!

  • Dave and Sue are excellent hosts! We shared some great conversations and they were extremely accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and the views from the deck were absolutely amazing.

Quiet, residential, established family neighborhood, one half mile from downtown Main Street. There are many cultural, recreational, and community events within walking distance. Three miles from St. Albans Bay and Lake Champlain waterfront parks.
  • Courtney was lovely and always responded quickly to our requests. It was perfect

  • This was our second time staying at Courtney's AirBnB apartment, and it was just as fantastic as the first. We are so pleased with the space and our experience that we have started to view this unit as our home-away-from-home. We bring our 2 dogs with us when we travel and Courtney makes us feel so welcome. We highly recommend this unit and also Courtney as a wonderful host. Cheers!

  • There's a reason Courtney is a superhost; her apartment had everything and did not disappoint. This was a perfect place for my fiance and I to stay for a weekend getaway from the city. Courtney's place is a short walk from a nice quaint downtown area where we visited great restaurants and a town farmers market to an awesome brewery in just the other direction. We thought we would visit Burlington more but found exploring St. Albans to be just what we needed.

    Frank2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I needed a place to stay over the weekend to visit family in Vermont. We needed something pet friendly and when we searched Air BnB, Courtney's host reviews were fantastic so we decided to book her unit. The apartment was wonderful, and well stocked with everything that we might need. Her instructions for the space were clear and easy to abide by. We met her during the course of our stay and she recommended a couple of places to eat and get coffee in St. Albans and both turned out to be great suggestions! We are so happy that we stayed there and we will definitely be booking this space again. Thanks Courtney! :)

    Jillian2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Love Courtney’s place! My pups love this place and it is in a perfect location. Love this place!

    Michele2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We just moved to St. Albans from NM earlier this year and had the good fortune of being able to stay at Courtney's place while we made our transitions here. Courtney was always very kind and accommodating and provided some valuable tips to help us get to know the area. We always felt like we were coming home during our stay, our little dog was welcomed and enjoyed her time here as well. The property is very well located within walking distance of downtown, I enjoyed taking my dog for walks around the neighborhood and taking in my new hometown. The unit was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed during our nearly three month stay. If you're coming to St. Albans, book with this place! I'm so glad I did.

  • If you you looking for an outstanding customer service, and a cozy and warm space to relax, for short or long time...that is the place to stay! Easy access to restaurants and shopping, with an amazing and caring host. She care in leave an gift card to a coffee shopping that welcome dog! Which shows that she thought of all her guests as the same importance, since we had our furry baby with 4 legs with us ;) ! If you look for hospitality, you are looking for this place!

  • Modern, clean, comfortable digs with all necessary amenities just a stone’s throw from downtown. Very quiet and peaceful. Separate heating and AC units keep the apartment very comfortable regardless of the season.

  • Was a wonderful stay. Sparkling clean! Spacious place. Really loved it! Mitch was a great host, very responsive!

    Sudarshan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch’s Place is beautiful. It’s comfortable with all the amenities of home, extremely clean and comfortably decorated - tasteful and pleasant. The views and private decks are stunning - while we visited in January we still enjoyed a quick sit and memorable view. I would highly recommend Mitch’s place and I look forward to returning.

    Brenda2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Mitch's lake front rental! While we missed peak color, we were still able to enjoy being right on the water on the beautiful upstairs and downstairs porches. The home is equipped for staying in and hanging out (which is how we spent our rainy Sunday!) Or getting out and about in nearby St Albans, Burlington, or by crossing the border to Montreal (~75 min drive). The home is very tasteful decorated and we were happy to be able to make breakfast in to start our days adventures. Mitch was also very accommodating when we arrived earlier than check in time, and we were able to get in and get settled so we had most of first day to start exploring. We would love to come back in the summer and take full advantage of this lakefront gem! We definitely highly recommend!!

    Erica2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • At Mitch's place you will find hospitality, privacy, beautiful decor, lots of amenities and comfort. It is so very nice and so is Mitch.

    Debbie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch’s place is fantastic. Located on the lake provides direct water access and spectacular views. The place is very clean with everything you need for a great stay. It’s about a 10-15 minutes drive into to town if you are looking for restaurants. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place on the lake.

    Derek2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great house on the water. Very well equipped and clean. Mitch was a very nice host.

    John2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch was a wonderful and considerate host--there when we needed but hidden when we didn't. The location is fantastic, with gorgeous sunsets across the lake. The apartment was spacious and extremely clean and comfortable. We would gladly stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lake-front getaway.

The house, with its' beautiful garden, is within walking distance to charming downtown St. Albans where you can browse an eclectic mix of shops, sip coffee at a cafe or enjoy alfresco dining, and live music, at one of several restaurants. Rain forecast ? Catch a movie at The Welden theater. Bicyclers will enjoy riding the 26ml rail trail and boaters and kayakers can spend all day on beautiful Lake Champlain, a 5min drive. Come and enjoy the area you won't be disappointed.
Although the house is situated in a residential area, it offers great privacy and has a secluded back garden. Sit on the swing and watch the sunset while listening to the gurgle of the ponds and little waterfall. Take a glass of wine or cup of coffee and stroll the garden, or visit the stream at the bottom of the garden. On cool evenings light up the patio heater or sit by the gas fire pit in the back yard.
The house is situated in a residential neighborhood in the city of Saint Albans Vt, which has recently undergone an extensive downtown renovation.
  • Sheila and Bob’s home is a tranquil paradise in the small historic town of St. Albans, VT. This property is a great place to get away and relax. The house is very comfortable and the gardens are spectacular! You don’t need to leave the property to experience the beauty of summer in Vermont. Bob and Sheila are great hosts and my wife and I are already planning our trip back here for next summer! Thanks Sheila and Bob for your hospitality!

    Larry2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This property has a gorgeous yard that is loved and well cared for. Numerous water features very relaxing. Friendly, good restaurants. I highly recommend this rental.

    Jo2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t believe Sheila’s garden. It’s an inspiration and it is, most definitely, an “oasis” that the title of the property promises. We are second timers, and found, once again, Bob and Sheila amazing hosts. We just love Saint Albans. The photos of everything are terrific, so you can have a good idea of the space and all that it promises. (Except to say that no photos do the garden justice!) Bob is a spectacular communicator. Check in is excellent. The property is spic-n-span. We loved being “plug and play” the second time around. Maybe it suffices to say we would be happy-so happy—to return to Bob and Sheila’s. They make airbnbing worth it! THANK YOU!

    Ellen2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, welcoming, clean & greatly decorated place, loved it & would definitely stay there again! Thx, Sheila & Bob, great host!

    Susan2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Bob's place is fantastic. It has a stunning garden with fountains and flowers and multiple places to sit and eat and enjoy the outdoors. The interior is stylish and comfortable and they are walking distance from the shops on Main Street and the Saturday morning farmers market.

    Christopher2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Beautiful backyard, seems like your in your own world here. Then you walk out and your walking distance to a great little downtown area, or a quick car ride to Burlington. Such a large house, got a lot more out of the house then I was expecting. Thank you for the amazing place, we will be back.

    Christopher2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This house was warm and cozy, was filled with everything you could need, and had charming personal touches throughout so you almost feel like you know the hosts. The garden was gorgeous in person and the house is perfect for a couple. The bed was really soft and the water pressure in the shower was great. I went in summer and the air conditioning units worked very well, WiFi also worked well. There are 3 deer heads on the wall on the second floor which we named Moe, Larry, & Curly. The house has a lot of character and neighborhood was nice; it's only half hour or so to Burlington. Sheila and Bob answered quickly to questions and suggestions. Great stay in Vermont!

    Lucia2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house has everything you need and is extremely confortable and welcoming but the best thing for me was the garden. It is beautifully restful with lovely areas to sit with a drink and watch the birds. Also a patio, a barbecue, a fire pit, and even a stream to watch. Bliss!

  • We didn't stay long but our experience was wonderful. We arrived late during a snow storm. Our hosts reached out to find out when we planned on arriving so they could have the driveway plowed - they also offered to make the guest bed. 10/10 experience all around. Thanks!

  • The place is much nicer than the pictures let on. We went for our anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised. It was very comfortable and cozy. Loved having wine by the fire at night and coffee by the fire in the morning. It was just a peaceful place to put your feet up and relax. Not to far from town either which was nice for when we wanted to have an adventure.

  • On a cold winter night, nothing felt better than snuggling up with my loved one in this quaint, snug, fairy-tale like cottage on a vast farm with stunning mountain views. The hospitality Melanie showed us was extremely warming and kind! We purchased some of the organic meat and local syrup which was so delectable. We definitely plan on coming back up in the future hopefully to catch the warm weather next time!

  • This cabin is so so so cozy and cute! We really enjoyed our stay and which we could have stayed longer! Added bonus, the host, Melanie, sold us some delicious organic meat! She really went above and beyond to make our stay special; she is even sending me my sweater that I left there. So sweet!

  • Expect a perfectly cozy, clean, and private retreat here. I work 50-60 hours a week and interact with people all day everyday, one of my favorite things about this stay was that I got to completely alone and by myself if I wanted. This retreat is ideal for anyone looking to unplug and unwind from the hustle and bustle, and just be with the trees for a few days.

Looking for a big place to enjoy with your friends and family? Our place has 2,000 sf, four bedrooms, 1.5 baths... and is on Lake Champlain... Beds for 10 people but plenty of space for more...
Great, large rustic cabin (all but boat/sun room built in 1910) includes fieldstone fireplace, large sun room on the water, plenty of land for privacy, great fishing and sunsets. For Summer the rental also includes the use of watercraft - rowboat, canoe, three kayaks, paddle board, boogie boards... more rocky than sandy so we also have an assortment of water shoes for those who would prefer to use them. Heated with hot air propane furnace (or fieldstone fireplace :0)). Great place to relax, have fun or both! First floor is all on one level making it easy access for those who have trouble walking (but fairly narrow doorways make moving in a wheelchair challenging). Not even one step up to enter. Waterline would require stairs down or a ginger walk down the boat ramp. Upstairs is a converted attic with drop down stairs and has two bedrooms with a small half bath/wash closet, new flooring and a total of three beds per room. Queen and double bedrooms are on first floor. While it is a rustic cabin (not a sparkling fancy condo by any means) with some uneven floors and other imperfections, it's a great place that has been remodeled a good bit with new windows, new flooring in some rooms, some new ceilings, updated furniture, updated bathroom, paint, new roof, etc. And being an older place near water a bug or two is possible so if you’re very anti bug this may not be the place for you. Water inside the cabin is from a well not the lake. We do have a gas grill and available charcoal grill for your use. Fire pits/seating area and older concrete patio outside but no deck. On a dirt road wide enough for one car with cow/horse pasture across the street. To answer a common question... Water levels and swimmability (is that a word?) vary. May and June the water is normally high (no beach). Great for putting in smaller boats via the ramp (ramp is too steep for largers boats but convenient launch just down the bay) - nice but cold water. Late June the water starts to warm up and swimming is great. July is normally ideal - usually still not much of a beach but warmer water. Beginning of August is also normally good but towards the end of August water levels will drop making it more difficult to put a boat in using the ramp (marina with access down the street) exposing a rocky beach, and by the end of August and into September weeds are usally present which would require putting on life jackets and going into deeper water to avoid them. Finally, speaking of your boat, we don’t have a dock but a mooring is being installed in May 2020. If you want to bring your dog that should be fine but a heads up and prior behavioral approval required. No more than two dogs per stay and no pets allowed on the furniture. About 30 minutes to Burlington, 90 minutes from Montreal, close to lots of Vermont parks (including Burton Island just a row or paddle away) as well as 15 minutes from St Albans shopping. Assuming you've made it through all this verbiage, extended stay discounts and adjustments to check in dates/times possible; feel free to inquire.
Why would you love staying here? The lake... the view... the sunsets! For a place on popular Lake Champlain it's also very quiet. Across the street is a cow pasture for a nice view while drinking morning coffee....
  • Sean is very friendly and he communicates quickly! The view of the lake is wonderful

  • I had such a wonderful stay here. The weather was a bit cold most of the our stay so we were very grateful for the indoor fireplace to sip tea next to. The view was my favorite part, the sunsets were incredible. This was a perfect place to have a wholesome weekend with friends.

  • We had a great stay at Sean and Maria's place. The view is incredible and it is very quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of cookware, clean sheets, and more than enough towels. A great value to get away in the mountains for a while. Sean was a great communicator through the entire air bnb process and is a highly recommended host. Thanks again!

There are plenty of water-related amenities including a canoe and a couple of kayaks. The weather changes pretty quickly and aggressively so you should be prepared for that. Two fire pits — one closer to the house and one closer to the lakeshore. The lake is pretty rocky so take advantage of the swim footwear that Sean makes available. Also, be careful on the stairs leading up the attic. They're getting up there in years so they can be a little rickety. The neighboring sunflower field and grazing cows were a nice surprise, as were the friendly human neighbors. It's a quiet little road but everyone keeps to themselves for the most part. Overall, my nine friends and I stayed there comfortably and enjoyed every second of our stay. We all would greatly consider returning.

  • Perfect lakeside retreat! My family and I had a wonderful time during our vacation in August. The views from the cabin are beautiful! We enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, playing games in the sunroom and hanging out by the fire. The sunsets were amazing! Sean was very responsive and had great suggestions for things to do locally. Overall great stay!

  • Very enjoyable stay! Great place to spend with friends and family. The place is right on the lake which gives you a very nice view to wake up to. We really enjoyed the playroom which has a pingpong table and some boardgames which is pretty cool. And the condiments and kitchen equipments are pretty complete. I would recommend the place. :)

This Fairfax studio apartment in 13 miles from Smugglers Notch, a perfect stay for anyone wanting to hit the slopes. The view from the back deck looks past a quintessential Vermont farm over to Mount Mansfield. This space is above our detached garage and is only accessible by stairs. The space offers a kitchenette and amenities to cook limited meals. There is a small clothing rack to hang garments. Unfortunately there is not WiF but, there is a hotspot connection for Comcast customers.
  • Beautiful space! Close to Smuggs and the winery. Great location!

  • We loved our stay. Anastasia was quick to respond to all messages and allowed us to check in earlier than we had originally planned. The space was clean and exactly how it was described and shown in pictures. We would definitely stay there again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Anastasia's house! We stayed to ski at Smugglers Notch which is only 20 minutes away from her home. The rental space was great and had an incredible view of mt Mansfield and Smugglers Notch. Plenty of room for 3 people. The place was very warm, clean, and well kept. The accommodations were great and we were pleasantly surprised that there was a oven/ stove. We look very forward to staying there again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The only thing I didn’t realise was the proximity to quite a busy road, didn’t take away from the lovely view though.

  • This cabin is rustic and peaceful. It's across the road from the lake with some seating on the porch so you can look out and watch the sunset. The loft bedroom was lovely with ample room to walk around the bed on all sides--more room than in the photo. The plumbing is lake water, so you do need to bring your own potable water. It's a perfect location for birdwatching. Super quiet, yet close enough to Swanton to stop in for groceries or a restaurant. From here, you have easy access to the Lake Champlain Islands. We even took an evening jaunt into Quebec for dinner on night.

  • Edmund was a great host. He spent time hanging out with us, giving tips as to what to do in the area. He offered us food and coffee in the morning, let us use his home for showers, and gave us for a tour of his beautiful property. The location is beautiful, a bit out in the middle of nowhere, but just perfect for hikers. The cabins are very nice, clean and neat. No heating in the small cabins, so be prepared. However, Edmund did bring us extra blankets! The beds in the photo are inflatable, which was a bit unexpected. However, the entire experience was very nice.

Wake to the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore. Your cottage is situated in a quiet cove on Lake Champlain north from Kill Kare State Park and in front of Burton Island. The Cottage offers spectacular views, great fishing, and lots of bird sightings. There is a large deck and a nice little beach in front of the cottage. Certified Kiteboard Instructors next door, inquire about lessons before you arrive! SUP boards available.
What makes this space unique is the location, it's a very private spot with a beach and all the solitude you could want. The interior and decor are basic, but it is very clean and all the wonder lies on the lake. Enjoy the serenity, get on a Stand Up Paddle Board, or you may even want to take a Kiteboard lesson. The fishing is phenomenal!
The area is a very secluded summer camp location. The road dead ends at our cottage and The Sweet Cottage.
  • The cottage is extremely clean and has lovely touches without being too cluttered. The view of the lake is fantastic from both the living room as well as the enclosed porch. I did want to mention that the beds are very firm but plenty of blankets which is great for those chilly nights.

  • Jerri's place, Sweet Cottage on Lake Champlain, is the perfect spot to get away from it all and relax on a small corner of paradise. Sipping coffee or wine on the deck as we watched marine life on the lake and sail boats floating by we were able to slow life down and refresh. The cottage has everything you need with lots of extras like games and movies and Jerri is truly a super host - friendly, inviting and attentive. Incredible location and a wonderful host. We cannot wait to return next year.

  • Autumn's place was perfect for myself and 3 siblings to stay overnight for a Smugglers Notch ski day. Just big enough for 4 people. Not a full kitchen so don't plan on bringing food to cook, but it's a great place to crash for the night before hitting the slopes the next day. Would for sure stay again if i was up in the area again!

  • Homie, cozy, just what we needed for our MLK weekend snowboarding/ski trip to Smuggs. Our hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful! The place was just what we needed at a great per night rate. We were only there to sleep, and freshen up since we spent the rest of the time on the mountain so it not having a full kitchen was not an issue. And it being a close drive to Smugglers Notch was a plus plus. Will definitely think about coming back here for another Smugglers Notch trip.

  • We stayed over the holidays and absolutely loved the space. Katie and Ian are wonderful hosts, the apartment was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked. Check-in and -out was super easy. Their dog is a friendly ball of fun that had us laughing and was great with our dog! The sunrises in the morning were breathtaking. Couldn’t recommend this space enough!!!

  • My girlfriend and I moved to Vermont from Maine and stayed with Katie and Ian for a whole month! They were great hosts and we never felt to be in their way, or vice versa. We started jobs in Burlington while living with them, and commuted 5 days a week. They never had a problem with our schedules as their apartment is above the garage and out of the way. They also let us bring our dog Lulu whom fell in love with their year and a half old boxer/lab mix, Marley. We would definitely go back there given the chance!

    Mark2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Ian's home was great for us. First, it was very clean and had a large kitchen for cooking. It is a very comfortable space for 2 people. It is situated out in the country on a dirt road for a few miles, which is fine by us, but may not be for everyone as the nearest town is either 15 or 20 minutes away. Otherwise, I would highly recommend for using as a base to explore the area.

  • This was our 2nd visit to The Secret Passage. Alisha and her husband, Tim are such gracious hosts. You couldn’t ask for better! We drove up to a welcome sign on the front porch, the smell of fresh baked brownies when we walked in and hugs like we’re visiting old friends or family. Everything is clean, thoughtful, and homey. The accommodations are super comfortable, the breakfasts are delicious! There’s lots to do and see within an easy drive from here. Can’t wait to return again, we always hate to leave:(

    Kay2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Secret Passage made us feel right at home! Alisha, Tim, and Bella were all so welcoming! Each morning we were served a delectable breakfast - courtesy of Tim and his incredible cooking skills! They were very considerate and accommodated the various dietary needs for all guests. The location was perfect - situated off a quiet rural road, but close enough to easily access the Burlington/Shelburne/Waterbury/Stowe areas! They’re very knowledgeable about the area and want to ensure you have the best experience! Hopefully we can come for a stay again soon! ❤️

    Jessica2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is an extraordinary Airbnb. It sits across from a beautiful river, very picturesque, and calm. Alisha and Tim accommodated us last minute on our way back from Montreal and made us feel very welcome. The house is a gem, over a hundred years old and beautifully decorated and maintained. They provided a wonderful breakfast with the other travelers. We highly recommend their place and would return if we visit the area.

    Jack2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay! Alisha and Tim are so nice and welcoming :)

    Jordyn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha and Tim have made The Secret Passage something very special! You feel at home the moment you enter and meet them. The bed was so comfortable, their hospitality stellar and the breakfasts such an added bonus. The location is excellent, quick and easy access to Burlington, Waterbury, Stowe and the Champlain islands. We would recommend to family and friends and we hope to return some day!

    David2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Alisha's designation as a super-host is well-deserved. She is a GREAT communicator and clearly wants her guests to be comfortable. Everything in the description and guest-reviews is true and accurate. We came with bikes and kayaks to explore the area for the first time and the Secret Passage is an ideal location to explore from - riverside rural quiet street yet very short drive to the city and Island Line Bike Trail. Guests have access to a great screened-in porch with tables and chairs, kitchen, and upstairs TV sitting area so there are plenty of comfy spots to read alone or interact with other guests and hosts as you wish. Breakfasts and snacks were wonderful. We are not done exploring the area and want to return to the Secret Passage next year.

    Jandy2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • A Wonderful Bed and Breakfast. It is hard to describe what fine hosts Alisha and Tim are. Let me make a few observations from our recent stay. This is a meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean 200 year old farm house with beautiful landscaping, peaceful acreage and river frontage. Whether it is watching sunset from the dock, savoring breakfast on the screened in porch, relaxing in the upstairs parlor and enjoying the lovely guest rooms or sharing a bottle of wine with other guests and the hosts; this place is just wonderful. A couple of surprises. The location is even better than advertised. While it has all of the charm of a Vermont farm experience, it is 3 minutes from the interstate and one exit away from all that the Burlington area has to offer. The Secret Passage is perfect for a parents visit to St. Michael's College or UVM and ideal for an extended family get away where you rent the entire three bedroom upstairs. Tim and Alisha have created a perfect spot for a post graduation reception or, maybe if you asked real nicely, a wedding venue. These hosts take what's possible in innkeeping to a whole different level. They elevate it from a job to a calling. Stay at Secret Passage before the "secret" is so well known that they are booked a year in advance.

  • You won't be disappointed! Beautiful historic farm house, clean, bright, airy. Very centered and easy access to all attractions, quaint villages and towns. Relaxing, quiet atmosphere. Feel free to message me with any questions.https://www.airbnb.com/h/thesecretpassagevte. The Secret Passage is the ideal Vermont getaway featuring a spacious river view Queen room with 18inch hardwood floors original to the home that were milled off the property. If you want an authentic Vermont Bed & Breakfast experience in a meticulously maintained historic farmhouse, no need to look any further. You have a lot of options on where to stay in Vermont, but where can you can row, fish or pick sunflowers, fresh raspberries and apples off the property? You can experience the serenity of the country, but we are only 10 minutes to local beaches and popular hiking, biking, walking and running areas. Downtown Burlington & The University of Vermont are an easy 20 minute scenic drive ($20-25 Uber or Lyft ride off peak hours) and most popular SKI areas are 40-45 minutes (Stowe, Waterbury, Montpelier). Montreal is just an hour and a half away for a day trip (bring your passports). The upstairs includes three individual guest bedrooms (one King and two Queens), a separate bathroom reserved for guests and a loft area with large, comfortable couch, cable TV and free wifi (in loft area only). IMPORTANT NOTE if you want to book the entire upstairs space please visit my other listing at The Secret Passage Vermont (E). IF THIS room is already booked, check out my other listings for the additional rooms available in the home ~ The Secret Passage Vermont(Q2) 2nd queen room or The Secret Passage Vermont (K) king room. And again you can also book all the rooms for family and friends under The Secret Passage Vermont (E) entire upstairs space. Additionally, you will have shared access to idyllic screened porch to relax and enjoy breakfast and the sun setting on the river. • Alisha and Tim are wonderful hosts. They surprised us with brownies and wine upon arrival, and cooked lovely meals for our breakfasts. They’re welcoming and friendly people who were comfortable to be around. There was a beautiful view of the river across the way. A charming place to cozy up in the winter, like us. We’re looking forward to returning one day. We’d highly recommend staying at The Secret Passage for your next adventure in the area.

  • Out of 4 Airbnb's this vacation, this was by far our favorite! From the beginning to the end our experience was top notch! As we pulled up, we noticed a chalkboard welcoming us and congratulating us on our anniversary. Alisha met us at the door and gave us a tour of her lovely home and provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine, again nice touch :) ! Little did we know we would be spoiled ...daily breakfasts with fresh raspberries from their garden, pancakes, bacon, quiche, yogurt...what a spread! Tim printed out directions and gave us a tip to get to Montreal without waiting. Alisha also provided us with print outs of recommendations...another nice touch! Alisha and Tim were outstanding hosts. I cannot say this enough! We felt very welcomed and they gave us our space. But we really enjoyed learning more about them and enjoyed our time sharing wine together just talking. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the dock across the street. It's a nice focal point and a perfect place to watch the sunset. It also hosts the local rowing team. We wished we could have seen them in action but we did see the team set up...next time! The front porch is very inviting and is a great place to watch the sunset as well and play games. The bedroom had everything we needed and the bed was oh so comfy. As an Event Manager, I pay attention to detail and there were a lot of special touches throughout this home. Tastefully decorated too! Again, what a great experience. We highly recommend if you are looking for a special getaway!

  • The Secret Passage will soon not be a well kept secret! Alisha and Tim are the most warm and friendly and attentive hosts you will ever stay with. They have mastered the art of what makes a host home work well. They are completely tuned in to their guests, whether you are there for rest and retreat (as I was for 10 days!) And always ready to chat and share life stories as well. In my many stays at Air BBs , their place surpassed the rest. Comfortable, true to it's description, authentic in character . Lovely restored farmhouse, with important amenities taken care of, such as a heavenly bed, clean bath and fluffy towels and all the extra necessities, wonderful healthy breakfasts, social time on the porch, great tips for local places to go. I was lucky to get a little private boat ride on the Lamoille River on my last night. Am sitting at home in Colorado now, teary-eyed as I reminisce on a beautiful stay!

  • We had a great time at Alisha & Tim’s place! Oh my goodness there are so many good things we could say. Sitting on the front porch and relaxing for breakfast was so nice. The bacon 🥓 and pancakes 🥞 were delicious. They are so friendly and the tips they gave were so helpful! We love that they had a list of places that we might be interested in available when we arrived!! We are definitely planning to go back and would recommend this place if you are in the area!!

  • This was my first stay in an AirBnB and it was stellar. Alisha communicated quickly and clearly. She and her husband were welcoming, friendly hosts who allowed us to make ourselves at home. Alisha offered wine and conversation on their screened in porch when I arrived, and prepared two delicious breakfasts for us during our stay. The historic home is in a quiet, lovely place across from a sleepy scenic river. Three upstairs bedrooms with comfortable beds and a sitting area are available for guests, with a shared bathroom. The company was congenial and considerate, so sharing the bathroom was never an issue. While the location is quiet and secluded, it’s still close to main roads/highways and Lake Champlain, so getting out to explore is easily done, and your hosts will be ready and able to offer excellent suggestions and directions. I truly wish I could have stayed more than a couple of days!

  • We make regular visits to Fairfax. In the past, we were never able to find an Airbnb right in town. Lucky us! Inge was a perfect hostess. She made every aspect of our stay easy and comfortable. Also, her house is beautiful.

Brand New "Tiny Home" very open, there is no loft so it doesn't really feel like a tiny home. Very comfortable to get around.
only 396 sq feet, but very open feel. one level so you don't have to worry about climbing up to get to a loft.
Close to Smugglers Notch, 2 miles up a dirt road so in the fall its a beautiful drive with the foliage. located on a property that already has an airbnb apartment, so if you need more room for people we can accommodate more if needed!

  • Audrey and John are the most genuine, warm and welcoming hosts you will ever come across. They have a beautiful house along the Lamoille river in a bucolic setting of rolling hills on a country road with a covered bridge. Quintessential country Vermont from a Currier and Ives painting. The room is spacious with large windows looking out over the river. The bed was terrific, the pillows dreamy and the bathroom and shower perfect. There is an attached private den with TV and coffee machine. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and talking with hosts.

  • John & Audrey were so amazingly down to earth and extremely accommodating. They gave us great recommendations for things to do in the local surrounding areas as well as things to see on our way home. Their home is so gorgeous and immaculate and their property was a beautiful sight. We were not sure what to expect as this is our first Airbnb experience, but this was definitely something to come back to again in the summer. They are just great people all around and made us feel so comfortable within the first few minutes of meeting them. Highly recommended this to anyone wanting to experience Vermont country setting in a peaceful atmosphere. We were completely relaxed and couldn’t be happier!

On Lake Champlain with beautiful mountain views and amazing sunsets. Spacious out door living with awesome water and land fun. 32 ft camper sleeps 8-10. Master bedroom, bunk room, open kitchen dining area. Full kitchen and bath. VERY CLEAN comfortable and bright. Plus outdoor showers . My place is great for couples, families and groups. Reunions, retreats, birthday & wedding parties. Enjoy your stay! Let me know if you would like me to provide linens and towels $30 Jennifer
I was looking for a "place" to have my 50th birthday party on the lake that was reasonably priced. I couldn't find what I was looking for so I created a space that is perfect for family fun, gatherings, reunions, girls night out.....
Quaint neighborhood, one road in and out.
  • Jennifer's place was great! When we first arrived, the camper was a bit hot, with a strange scent. But once we aired the place out and then turned the AC on, it was perfect! The location is absolutely amazing, right on the lake, and we enjoyed floating in the water and paddle boarding and playing games by the lake. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

  • Great location and beautiful views!

    Jeffrey2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Jennifer's space because it was a chance to try RV life before we dive in with both feet for ourselves. The place is in a beautiful, tranquil location just minutes from downtown St. Albans yet feels safe, peaceful, and a million miles away. With this serenity come only a few challenges: inconsistent water pressure from the shower and RV bathroom/water aromas. Nothing you wouldn't expect from a weekend in paradise by camper, just something to be aware of. Highly recommend!

  • We had a great time with our family! The trailer is as described, everything is clean, and the sunset views are amazing! Jennifer is a great host and responds very quickly to all requests. Thanks again!

  • Peaceful, comfortable and wonderful spot on the lake. Jennifer is a great host!! Would definitely go back.

    Dayton2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay we had. Love the location on the lake and quiet dead end lane. The sunsets were amazing and the camper was very clean, well layed out, spacious and comfortable. The cabana had way more water toys, bug dope, sun screen and more than we needed for sure. Jennifer was very gracious and responsive to our questions. Couldn't ask for anything more and hope to return for another visit.

    Jay2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We all loved the spot. Was really nice being on the lake. Jennifer is great always was quick to email and give info. Thanx Jennifer
