Holiday Rentals in Salmon Lake

Just booked in Salmon Lake

Private cabin on 1 acre fenced lot. Great place for summer & winter fun w/ access to wilderness, public land and Seeley, Holland & Flathead lakes. Lots of hiking trails and boat, canoe and bike rentals within a mile from cabin. Pups welcome.
Seeley Lake's a small town, but has a grocery store, pub, pizza place, a couple of diners, and a couple of places to get good coffee. There are a few nice gift shops and outdoor stores in town as well. Missoula is a college town with lots of shopping and things to do, and is about 45 min-1 hour away.
  • Great little cabin in Seeley, MT! Fit our needs perfectly! Would definitely stay there again if we ever venture back to MT! Pictures are exactly like the cabin except they don't show the beautiful view behind the cabin! No issues getting into the cabin or finding it!

    AnnMarie2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Even better than pictured. Beautiful view, very private. Inside was spacious but cozy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Thanks for making our vacation great!

    Ashley2016-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was awesome. We had snow, 70 degrees and snow again. Place was warm and cozy. Super amounts of hot water. Played ball in the yard. Great place and would rent again.

  • This cabin was very clean, well appointed, and in a private yet convenient to Seeley Lake location. Dagny is a super-friendly and responsive hostess, we look forward to a return visit. My family has nut and pet allergies and had zero issues. We also thought the home had a nice, subtle inviting-clean smell when we arrived. We really enjoyed the private location, views of the forest and deer in the yard.

    Shane2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This property is absolutely wonderful!Dagny has thought about everything, Superbe place, quiet, super clean. When we got there she even had a nice bottle of wine for us!You will not be disappointed if you decide to rent this property. My wife was so impressed how clean the cabin was!and even the backyard was great.Great beds and sofas,

  • You won't go wrong with this lovely cabin.

    Raelynn2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection! This cabin exceeded our expectations. We loved the front porch and the layout inside. The setting feels secluded, yet is close to town. It was a nice little oasis for us during the Bob Marshall Music Festival, which was so much fun, but really hot and dusty. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Jessica2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Seeley Lake. Loved the cabin. Our dog loved the yard. Peaceful and quiet...ah, we love Montana!

Conveniently located property for weddings at the Double Arrow. It sits on the Clearwater river with a large wrap-around deck. Located in a quiet, forest cul-de-sac, yet is only 5 minutes from town. Three level, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, sleeps up to 12.
  • Prior to our arrival, Patrick very quickly responded to every question that I had about the listing and was sincerely interested in getting to know us better. In doing so, was able to make great suggestions about activities in the area during our stay. Upon our arrival, Patrick greeted us at the door and proceeded to give us a very thorough tour of the entire house and showed us all of the amenities that we would need and more. He is very personable and we ended up chatting for quite awhile before he left us to enjoy his very spacious and beautiful home. We had quite a large group made up of 3 families and there was more than enough room to accommodate us all. The kids enjoyed the downstairs area (including the pool table and big TV) and the adults enjoyed some peace and quiet upstairs and out on the deck. We chose a weekend with poor weather so we weren't able to enjoy the surrounding lakes, but we were happy to spend the time at the house enjoying the beautiful view instead. We had a great time and enjoyed the great communication back and forth with Patrick. He made us feel comfortable and welcome before we got there as well as after we left. I would definitely recommend a stay here and I hope we will be able to make it an annual tradition!

  • Great location and scenery! Took a New Year’s snowmobile trip with 5 adults...plenty of room and space! Patrick was very accommodating and quick with his responses as we had some crazy Montana weather to deal with! Highly recommend going here, you won’t be disappointed!

  • Great place to stay---beautiful setting, really clean and modern---and well equipped.

    James2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely beautiful home nestled in a gorgeous woodsy neighborhood. We loved sitting on the deck or looking out the window and seeing deer at the stream. So picturesque. The house was spotless. Patrick met us at the house and explained everything. This has to be the most beautiful place in Seeley Lake; a wonderful place for a family vacation.

    Patrice2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick met us on our arrival, gave us a full tour of the house and let us know where eveything was located. The house was just as advertised and was very well equipped. We had everything we needed and more. There were 11 of us staying at the house, including five children from 2 thru 8 and Patrick gave us full use of all of the toys and water equipment for use on Seeley lake, which was really great. The surroundings were really nice and we saw deer in the yard and across the river every morning and evening, which we all enjoyed. All in all I would say the house is a great place for a family vacation and I would definitely stay there again if we decide to go back to Seeley. It would also make a good base of operations if you wanted to see the surrounding area.

    Harry2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick was a great host and his house made for a wonderful base camp during a family trip to explore the Seeley-Swan valley with trips up to Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. He always responded to any inquiries right away and was very helpful during the walk through process so we could get to know everything about the property. Patrick also went out of his way to share his knowledge of places to go/things to do in the area in a very helpful manner, while beyond a mere "go hike this trail". Would absolutely stay there again.

    Alex2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Most amazing experience! Patrick was prompt and very attentive to our needs! He was always available to talk and did whatever we needed assistance with! I highly recommend staying at Patricks and we will be back!

    Brittany2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay for a family gathering. A perfect home that accommodated our family of 8 adults (plus one grandchild) and a very nice winter picturesque surroundings just a few minutes outside of Seeley Lake. Patrick was wonderful to work with. Thank you.

Rural residential neighborhood in wooded area, 1.5miles from town.
  • We loved our stay! There was no cable and it couldn't have been more perfect. We watched 5 deer graze in the front yard for hours and our 2 year old was in heaven! It was a close drive/walk to the lake and center of town and was so cozy inside. We loved the cabin feel and made a cozy fire after the rainy days. The bed was comfortable, aside from sharing it with a two year old ;) we would love to return in the summer months when we could play on the lake! Thanks for the stay!

    Amy2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • All was good!!

    Eleanor2014-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The back yard looking into the woods was great, as were the deer with fawns who visited daily. All was comfortable in the cabin, and we had everything we needed. The location has good access to town, and we also enjoyed bringing our bikes and riding them to the airport up the street and around the neighborhoods. We played horseshoes and it was nice that the area is so quiet at night. We enjoyed the sunset from the yard of Lindy's Restaurant and we recommend this place for your stay in Seeley.

    Steve2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were very responsive to messages before our stay. If I had any questions during, I'm sure they would have been just as responsive. The neighborhood was very nice, and quiet. It was great being close to town and so close to public land.

    Joel2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Katy and Leif's place was great for a secluded getaway. Seeing deer in the backyard in the morning made us really feel like we were in Montana!

    Jordan2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house for a family! The kitchen is well equipped and the wood stove makes for a cozy get away. I can't wait to go back again!

    Lacey2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful woodland retreat-while still being very close to town. The home was set up comfortably with everything one might need for a relaxing stay. It was rustic enough to feel like a cabin in the woods, but still has the modern comforts of home like washers/dryers and a full bathroom. The place was easy to find with their directions, clean on arrival, and , easy check in which made it easy to settle in.

    Gwen2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great vacation getaway! We had a blast. Katy and Leif's place is comfortable, well equipped, centrally located and the area has a ton of things to do. We will be back!

  • This home fit our needs very well. It is conveniently located in town, and it was exactly how it is described. We enjoyed the lovely bluebirds flying around the yard. We stayed during the Bob Marshall Wilderness Festival, so there were many people in town that weekend, and we had a wonderful time.

  • Nice home, excellent location close to everything in Seeley Lake. Angela had the heat on and a fire going when we got there. Would definitely stay there again.

    Paul2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Angela was amazing and did everything to make our stay in her rental comfortable, warm, relaxing and convenient. I would recommend her home to my family and friends and would rent from her again if the need were to arise. Thank you Angela very much for your kindness and great attention to detail. • You will love this house. Beautiful and spacious with the beautiful scenery. Just about anything we had need of was there. And John was very attentive and kind with my questions. It was a great first time experience.

    Karla2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • John was a pleasant person in correspondence, he was accommodating, professional and prompt to respond. His home is beautifully well kept with a high attention given to cleanliness and cozy style.

    Seraphine2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is beautiful and settled in a beautiful part of Montana. It is about 35 minutes to Missoula if you want some city time, and also remote enough if you just want to recharge in the woods. Seeley Lake is also about 20 minutes away (both the lake and the town). There is good hiking and biking available within walking distance from John's house, and if you're into fishing, the Blackfoot River is right there, too. The house itself is large, cozy and comfortable. I was traveling with a big group and we enjoyed our stay. There are a number of beds downstairs in a comfortable finished basement (we had three people down there, but you could fit six), and three bedrooms above. John is a thoughtful host and was quick to respond when we had questions.

    Qainat2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place is amazing. There were five of us and there was space for plenty more! Very clean with tons nice authentic touches. John was very communicative and accommodating. Can’t wait to stay there again!

    Ryan2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • John was very accommodating and responded promptly to all of our request. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful property.

  • This was a perfect location and setting to spend Fathers Day weekend with several families. There was plenty of room to spread out and sleeping accommodations were great. The house was well stocked and the owners were great to work with. We hiked, boated at Seeley Lake, explored Ovando, and enjoyed time relaxing at the house. We really hope to be back for another great stay. Thank you!

    Malia2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't have asked for a better experience ! Thank you so much!

    Bobbie2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay! This large house worked out really well for our family 'new years' weekend. There is plenty of space for people to hang out and relax... upstairs next to the fireplace enjoying the surrounding views offered by the picture windows... or hang out downstairs and watch movies or play pool. Seeley Lake (for snowmobile rentals and trails) is only about 20 minutes away. We even pulled out the provided snowshoes and went on a snowy new year's day walk. Love this place... can't wait to experience it in the summertime!

The Cub Cabin is a fully-furnished, twenty-five-hundred-square-foot home with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, one which includes a steam shower. The main floor includes a comfortable living room, full kitchen and a large front room overlooking the ranch. The mud room entrance easily accommodates all of your recreational gear. Two porches adjoin either side of the cabin. The second floor consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The laundry room and an additional bathroom can be found in the basement.
Grey Wolf Ranch started out as a family "home away from home". Everyone who came to visit wanted to stay and they kept coming back. To accommodate all our family and friends we evolved into a family guest ranch. We are surrounded by mountains, meadows and streams, providing an endless parade of wildlife including deer, elk, moose, coyotes and bears, from grizzly to brown and black with an occasional mountain lion and bob cat.
Each season has its own natural allure that makes Montana one of the most inspirational and memorable places on earth for families who want to experience outdoor sports and recreation in Big Sky Country. Whether golfing with friends or white water rafting with family on the Blackfoot, or boating on Seeley Lake or Placid Lake, fly fishing, hiking and bird watching, cross country skiing, or spending quiet time enjoying the scenery, every season in Montana is a playground for the body and soul.
  • A beautiful, clean, well-situated house near placid lake, this place has all you need for a four-night stay and even longer. There were 12 of us including three children and the house still felt spacious and comfortable. It was important to us that there were 4 bathrooms, because we didn't have to wait too long in the mornings since we all woke up around the same time. We were surprised the place was so kid-friendly, with books, games, and puzzles for little ones. It was hot outside the days we were there, so we stayed inside a lot and appreciated the downstairs for playing games. We also enjoyed sitting around the spacious campfire roasting marshmallows and cinnamon rolls, while fishing in the nearby pond, playing horseshoes, and watching the deer graze in the nearby field. We were afraid since it was a shared campfire we would not be able to use it, thinking it would be occupied most times. However, we used it two nights with no sign of anyone else, so we had the whole campfire to ourselves. You might want to be aware that this place is a little hard to find. You will need to drive around placid lake, and be careful to watch for Grey Wolf Ranch signs. The only complaint we had was the rough wood on the porches. The kids frequently got splinters, as well as some of the adults. We spent quite a bit of time on the porches, and it was safest to wear shoes. We loved this place and the hospitality of the owners, who were willing to provide us with whatever we needed. We hope to go back someday!!

  • Sometimes when I see only 8 reviews I question the accuracy of them looking for a few more to review.  However Ginger and Scott haven’t been doing this long but yet they have aced it in providing a great vacation stay at their beautiful home.  I have a condo on the ocean in Myrtle Beach, SC I rent out on AIRBNB and thought I provided a lot of the extras vacationers might need but they easily topped me with all the extras.  Jermaine’s review mentioned a more substantial kitchen knife would be nice. Done, there were 2 on the counter.  And the items they provided for a continental breakfast were more than adequate.  Without duplicating all the other reviews which were all accurate, I will add that I let my wife and 2 daughters use the bedroom using the king size bed and queen size air mattress in the private bedroom and I used the queen size topper on the sleeper sofa in the main living area as I get up long before them and could watch the morning news, have breakfast and get on computer without disrupting them.  I must say the topper on the sofa sleeper was nearly as comfortable as our new plush king size bed at home.  That’s depressing for the money we paid for it!!!  I also loved the wall behind the sofa covered with album covers from the 60’s and 70’s, many of which I had at one time.  Also they have an antler door handle on a sliding door going back into a storage area that was really cool and Scott informed us that Ginger painted the hallway walls which we thought was wall paper. Fabulous. The only unfortunate thing is the fact that western Montana have numerous wildfires burning including the one threatening Seeley Lake which is why we are here visiting my nephew and family.  Fortunately overnight after the crews attacked it hard our first day here, it appears that Seeley Lake may be spared as conditions have greatly improved.  But next time we come west from NY to visit my nephew we will definitely be looking up Ginger and Scott.

  • Ginger's place was above and beyond incredible. I was here with my parents, and it was their first Airbnb stay. They were so happy here - they kept saying this place was worth its weight in gold. Ginger's homemade breads and jam were very much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable - I have a torn rotator cuff, and I managed to sleep through the night. Can't ask for more, thanks Ginger!

    Elise2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ginger and Scott have a beautiful home with a very comfortable, private, fully-exposed basement area. The view was beautiful! Three of us stayed for four nights, and we had lots of room. The continental breakfasts that Ginger provided were great - her homemade breads were delicious. Ginger and Scott are very friendly and inviting without being intrusive. Would highly recommend to everyone!

  • Beautifully located in the forest just outside the town of Seeley Lake MT. Exquisite home. Airbnb suite is a huge one bedroom with separate living room containing dining area, TV & etc. Perfect for a couple or small family. We were there for a wedding which occupied most of our time but Ginger & Scott's place would be perfect for anyone exploring what the Seeley Lake area has to offer. Ginger & Scott were excellent hosts, setting a very high bar for all Airbnb hosts. Excellent comfy king size bed and the bathroom had great towels! I would definitely stay again & will recommend to my friends.

  • We really enjoyed our stay and were very impressed by the beautiful accommodations, amazing views, and the clean and well furnished private space. Ginger and her husband were excellent hosts and provided us with everything we needed.

  • Best Airbnb experience ever!!!! The location is spectacular, the suite is amazing and the hosts were genuine, gracious, welcoming and accommodating. From the natural beauty of the pines and the water views right outside your window, to Ginger's eclectic artwork everywhere you look, this special place is truly one of a kind. Remote, but convenient, relaxed yet upscale, elegant and earthy, we truly felt we discovered an incredible gem in the heart of Montana. The suite is located on the bottom level of the most gorgeous log home you'll ever see and consists of 3 very spacious rooms (bedroom, great room and bathroom). The great room is a work in progress and the hosts have added their own personal touches - an aspen wall mural worthy of the Guggenheim (!), hand carved furniture by the owner/ artist, and some decorative wall posts that are actually a part of the renovation, although I can't imagine how they could improve upon what's there! Part of the fun was engaging with the hosts, who are more than willing to share their special place and the stories of the creation of this beautiful home, while at the same time respecting our privacy so we could enjoy our time together. The views are simply stunning and sitting on the deck watching the deer while sipping a glass of wine was the highlight of our vacation. That and the homemade huckleberry muffins and jam! There's plenty of hiking, mountain biking, boating on the lake, we had a ball! We will definitely be back!

  • Beautiful location on the mountain side but close to town. Spacious, wonderfully decorated and made to feel like an "Up North " cabin. We would stay there again if we come back to the area.

  • Ginger and Scott have an amazing place. Their posting accurately depicts the view. Tall evergreens and jaged peaks makes the million dollar view. They offered us a pleasantly large room, living area, and bathroom. We have everything we needed. Their place made out trip memorable. Anything thinking of staying here should, you will not be disappointed!

  • The cabin was cozy and welcoming, as were the hosts! They even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy! A really great place next to some beautiful nature.

  • Superb cabin hidden away in the woods. Highly recommended for anyone looking for somewhere enchanted and special.

  • This was a fabulous, quaint cabin nestled in the woods yet so close to MANY accessible activities! Sleeping accommodations were comfortable and cozy and provided a very relaxing stay after a long day of playing. Marcedas is a terrific hostess and made special accommodations for our family. She even helped by offering suggestions of new activities once we discovered the hike we wanted to do was closed due to local fire restrictions. Definitely worth another stay!

    Shawna2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Marceda's exceptional hospitality, excellent communication, and exemplary attention to detail made for an outstanding airbnb experience. In spite of arriving by bicycle during the height of tourist season, Marcedas made sure that we were well taken care of and provided for with some much appreciated sn and unexpected extras!

    Karen 2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was surrounded by beautiful trees and bigger than I expected, with a big kitchen, a wood stove, and a large area upstairs I used for yoga. It was true to photos, the towels were really soft, and I enjoyed the art and ambiance. The hosts were helpful and easygoing about meeting me pretty late in the evening. Overall good experience even though I drove in late and there were forest fires in the area.

    Blair2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this humble cabin in the woods. The hosts really have created a cozy modern cabin that makes you feel right at home. Nestled in the woods of Montana, you get to be one with nature but all the amenities you need! After a long day of driving the host had already started a fire upon our arrival. She also started the bed heaters to make us extra cozy! 5 stars all the way. Make an excuse to stay here!

My place is on the river and accessible by boat to the main lake. It's close to snowmobile trails, hiking, cross-country ski trails, hunting, mountain biking. You’ll love my place because of the great views, abundant recreational opportunities, and the comfortable, coziness of the cabin that makes you want to snuggle in. My place is good for friends, couples and families (with kids).
  • This is a great kid friendly cabin. The location is close to town and houses are close together. The views are beautiful down the river. Cabin is fully stocked with games, towels for swimming, great bedding, paddle boat, lots of hooks of organization. Clean cabin. The boat dock is a great amenity and allows easy fishing access to the lake and river. Fishing in the evening in the river upstream was productive. All in all a nice family location for all types of activities.

If you are seeking an authentic Montana getaway, look no further. Located 30 minutes outside of Missoula, this one-of-a-kind mountain top cabin features picturesque views and gives guests the true Montana experience.
Single handedly built by the owner, this cabin is unique in every way. The space is studio style (open) with a living room space, very cozy dining table and chairs, queen bed and full kitchen.
  • Emily was a great contact person and facilitated our communication with the owner of the cabin, Daniel, who is not internet savvy. Daniel was a fantastic host and responded very promptly to text messages. He met my husband and I along the road so we knew exactly how to navigate to the cabin. He gave us a detailed tour and instructions for how to use the amenities in this very rustic, off-the-grid home. The scenery can't be beat. We would definitely stay here again!

    Emily2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We've got nothing negative to say about our experience here. Our host was wonderful to us, even offering to pull us around if we got stuck in the snow. He made sure we had what we needed, and made us feel welcome in what we feel is a very special place. If some off-the-grid time is what you're looking for, this place will suit you just fine.

    Matt2016-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved this place! If you're prepared to be 100% off the grid this is great place to stay. Host was very accommodating and helpful with info re: directions, how to operate appliances, etc. Great communicators.

    Mary Alice2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical!! Emily offers responsive communications, accurate description, and impeccable driving directions. Daniel, our on-site host, is a delight to talk to and clearly explained the workings of all the cabin's equipment for our off-grid adventure. The cabin is rustic, but very clean and comfortable and no photograph can truly convey the beauty of the views. Daniel also gave us great directions for some hiking both on the property and down the county road to the ruins of an old mining town. We only stayed for one night, as we were road tripping across the country, but this was a most amazing respite from the road, punctuated by numerous "wows" at the views.

    Susan2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this cabin! If you can handle off the grid livin it's a wonderful place to stay. The view is beautiful. Our host was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.

    Caitlin2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is simply stellar. One of the finest experiences I've had. If you're looking to put an ear to the heartbeat of the natural world you'd be hard-pressed to find a better location. Host is very cool too.

    Sean2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying in Daniel's cabin. The cabin is off-grid and rustic, but still has everything to provide a comfortable stay. There is a propane stove w/ oven, plus refrigerator. 12v power runs lighting at night, and a generator is available for other power needs. There is no running water, but Daniel provides plenty of spring water for drinking and washwater is available from a cistern right outside the cabin. The cabin itself is spacious and well-built, and has an incredible view. Daniel gave me some pointers on cool spots in the area and I enjoyed exploring the surrounding land—checking out old mining ruins, tracking elk, wandering the endless roads and game trails. The sunsets were amazing every night (including the distant electrical storm on my last night). Daniel gave me a rundown of how everything works and then stayed out of my hair for the rest of my stay—but was always available on the adjacent property if I needed anything. All communication was always accommodating and personable. Thanks to Emily for being the web liaison for the reservation process.

Welcome to our lake house with fishing boat included. Located on non-highway side of road (very key). Secluded location with private dock on 100 feet of lake front, log bunk bed, full kitchen with concrete and butcher block counter tops; master bedroom in loft. You have your choice of 3 different decks overlooking the water. Traeger grill is available cooking if desired. Traeger pellets only. No smoking. No fireworks.
Our property is unique because it has private lake front on Lake Inez. Lots of other listings say Seeley Lake, but are not actually on a lake. We also have a dock for you to enjoy and relax on.
No fireworks. No smoking. This is bear country. Be bear aware. Do not leave any garbage or food outside at any time. Please respect our neighbors in the log house to the left. There is nobody to the south for quite a ways until you pass the common grounds.
  • This was an incredible cabin in a beautiful location. The cabin was cute, the outdoor recreational spaces and decks were ideal and the lake was phenomenal. Nicole communicated with us via text from start to finish, and was there to meet us just after our arrival. We had a great time.

    Noel2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's little cabin was exactly what we needed and was a perfect slice of heaven for a quick weekend away! Thanks for being amazing hosts!

    Carrie2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Nicole's cabin. It was just what we were after for our trip to Montana. We felt right at home and the cabin had everything we needed. I would recommend it to anyone and I hope to be back again soon.

    Selwyn2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place on Lake Inez was perfect. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. The house is away from the highway and fairly secluded from other houses on that side. The dock was great for a quick dive in the lake. We rented paddle boards, fished off of the dock, and grilled out each night. We will definitely be back!

    Matt2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole dealt well with our family vacation and helped us navigate being new to AirBNB. The lake was so clear that you can see your feet---something you can't do in most of the South. This was a great experience for us.

    Kyle2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The 4 of us had an unbelievable time at Nicole's lake house. The location right on the lake was a perfect combination of seclusion, scenery, and accessibility for a Montana getaway. Nicole was great about letting us know where to grab groceries, or anything that we needed in town; just a short drive from the house. Just to name a few amazing amenities that we (EMAIL HIDDEN)fortable beds for everyone, a big kitchen for cooking amazing breakfasts, a fantastic smoker/grill for afternoon and dinner time BBQ's, a great dock to swim, fish, or boat off of, and a perfect view from a great back deck that lets you watch the sun rise off the lake as the fog rolls out over the water. With an easy check-in and departure, I would strongly recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a great lake house to just "get away from it all" We would LOVE to come back some day!

    Jeff2015-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, the pics don't do it justice--it's even better than it looks. Lake is gorgeous and the house is really cute. I don't think it's clear how much additional outdoor space the house has until you get there: even if you bring a bunch of people, it doesn't feel cramped because of all the decks and terraces (at least in the Summer). Close enough to the town for quick trips for groceries, but far enough to feel remote. I would definitely come again. One note, try to get there before it gets dark...(SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps is pretty spot on but it is easy to miss the driveway/house if you don't have daylight to guide you.

    Nathan2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful lakeside cabin on a wonderful lake, in a wonderful part of Montana! The Swan and Seeley lake area offers beautiful lakes, great hikes, and tons of things to do for adults and young kids alike. The cabin is also great. You can tell it's Nicole's home, which adds to it's charm. There is everything you need to have a wonderful getaway.

  • Hunter has a little slice of heaven in bonner, mt! Very quick response time and I was so grateful he accepted my last minute request. I had such a lovely nights sleep on his beautiful land. He was easy going and very kind; he even boiled me some water for coffee the next morning as I had run out of fuel for my camp stove. Would highly recommend staying here if you have camping gear and are exploring the beauty of Montana!!

    Soyoung2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stumbled on this listing while looking for a place to camp near Missoula, and couldn't be happier with it. If you are looking for a clean and friendly place to pitch a tent, and want to enjoy the quiet of being in a remote location, this is for you. Our hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and the fact that the city was only a half hour away gave us the opportunity to roam around town when we wanted to. We would choose this over a national park any day.

    Michelle2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great host that took me last minute and the place was serene. Wish I stayed for few more nights.

    Roger2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming experience! My husband and I stayed with Hunter while driving across Montana, and we were sad that our itinerary didn't leave much room to explore the area. The campsite was beyond what we expected: signage was very clear (which was especially appreciated, because we arrived late at night), we were provided with fresh water, and sites were clearly but not obnoxiously lit by small solar-powered lanterns. The composting toilet was my favorite part - it was immaculately clean and a great place to refresh (complete with toilet paper, magazines, fresh sawdust to flush with, tea tree hand sanitizer, and refreshing body spray). Our campsite had a very comfortable bed of mulch where we placed our tent and patio furniture with a small picnic table to prepare our food. All details were taken care of.

    Lindsay2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great area to camp in during my stay in Missoula. The site is about 30 minutes out of town, so you get to enjoy the forest and outdoors. The hosts were very friendly and have great recommendations on what to do.

    Anthony2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hunter was inviting and went out of his way to accommodate me. He provided extra gear that was not even listed in the description. Due to unplanned circumstances, I had to leave early, but if you are looking for a quiet place for a getaway, you may want to check out his place.

    Ross2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was bliss. I've only found this kind of quiet backpacking. The amenities were simple and great. I hope to come back someday.

    Sam2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so much that we stuck around for an extra night. There are so many great things to say about this place, but discussing local ghost towns and food that may cater to our dietary needs, as well as their two friendly dogs (even when our rambunctious bulldogs pushed them around) who roamed from person to person hunting for attention. As a couple who travel with our dogs frequently, it was really nice to see that theirs were so well behaved and well trained not to mention sociable. And then when we left Hunter gave us some delicious teas, that he grew there, to take home with us!

A great place to get away from it all, while being only 20 minutes from vibrant and quirky Missoula, Montana. You'll find yourself among mountains, rivers and forests of Gold Creek, the calming sounds of nature and abundant wildlife (pictures above). Disconnect from society as this cabin is OFF GRID and prime for a weekend of conversation, yoga, reading, hiking, swimming (Blackfoot river is 10 minutes away). Too much, too soon? Keep yourself connected with a solar panel and on property Wifi.

  • If you're thinking about staying here just book it! I promise you won't regret it. Not only will you have this gorgeous little handmade cabin, and the wilderness and wildlife on your doorstep, but you'll get to meet Garrett and Alla - two of the kindest Airbnb hosts you're likely to ever come across! We were in a tight spot when local wildfires meant we couldn't stay in another pre-booked airbnb, and so Alla and Garrett put us up at quite short notice. In a way it was definitely a blessing as I now can't imagine not having had this experience! The cabin is of course small, but so thoughtfully decked out with everything you need, with lovely little touches of herbal teas, toothpaste, shampoo, books, games, homemade beer. You even get a welcome sign with your name on it on a plaque of wood (which made my day!) We had so much fun watching deer, squirrels and chipmunks (thankfully no bears) from the deck. We had a lovely evening with Garrett and Alla over some homemade beer, and on our last day they invited us to go with their family and watch the eclipse from the most incredible viewpoint not far from the cabin. I could write a whole lot more about this place, but I think you get the general idea - book it! We'd so love to come back, and will remember it for years to come! :)

    Emma2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dear Alla and Garrett, thank you very much for having us at your lovely place in the mountains! From the personalised reception to the wonderful environment and everything in between has made this stay for us extremely pleasant! Loved the picnic table and the hammock is a good place to take an afternoon nap. Thanks for all the info and when/if we're back in the neighbourhood, will definetely visit! Cheers, GP and Charlotte

  • You are truly missing out if you go to Missoula and don't stay here. The cabin is perfect and well equipped with basic cooking supplies/lights/bug nets. It is very secluded and private, perfect when you just need some peace and quiet. There's a lot to do on the property, tons of books, hammocks, hiking, it's just a great place to spend a few days. Allan and Garrett are so nice and welcoming, great vibes. Their mountain dog is my favorite dog I've ever met on the trails. Just a great vacation. If you don't mind being out of service (there is wifi just a 2 minute walk away at the barn) this is the perfect place to relax.

    Katie2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alla and Garrett were excellent hosts! The cabin is off the grid and you will feel secluded from the world. The great outdoors in Montana are amazing and the night sky is unbeatable here. Just miles away from floating on the river and drinking beer. Would definitely stay again!

  • This was our first Airbnb and we were so pleasantly surprised. Alla and Garrett went out of their way to make us comfortable. Love the little details in the shanty, with so many more amenities provided than we could've dreamt of. This shanty is such a unique experience and we would absolutely go back!

  • Hunter and Julie were wonderful hosts. The eclectic cabin is located in "an Eco village," where there is a small farm, that is close to meadows and woods. There are amazing views of the mountains. The outhouse was very clean and was actually quite nice. A wonderful breakfast was served a 7 AM, and consisted of freshly baked bread, homemade jam, granola, berries, and coffee. This was an amazing place to star gaze too.

    Annie2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This small, rustic cabin is about 10' x 15' and was perfect. I had everything I needed. The wood stove is a little too effective at heating that small of a space; I had to open a window to cool the place down, even with outside temps dipping into the 30s. The property and setting are serene and quiet, and the whole place just smells good. Even the outhouse. Seriously. Julie was quite gracious, and the hearty whole grain bread, nut butter, fruit and hot beverage breakfast was the perfect start to my day. The only thing lacking is a fire extinguisher, in case of accident. I feel that fire extinguishers should accompany every structure that is heated by wood stove. I'd definitely stay again!

  • We really loved the cabin! It is very small, has a bed (relatively comfortable for two people) and a stove, and thoughtfully placed trail mix! We couldn't figure out if the window could close or not so it got pretty chilly, but there were plenty of blankets. The outhouse was very clean and actually smelled nice. Breakfast was unexpected and wonderful! It was in a pavilion, so it was easy to socialize with other guests. We would have appreciated a bit more detail in correspondence on where everything was and where to park, as its very confusing. Overall good experience, and thoughtful hosts.

A quiet wooded getaway 25 minutes from Missoula. Our 10 acres border public land, offering instant access to thousands of acres for exploration. We are less than 2 miles from Blackfoot River access and only about 15 minutes from the new Kettlehouse Amphitheater!
Located in the beautiful Potomac Valley, our home is very peaceful and quiet. We live on 10 wooded acres bordering public land which provide endless hiking opportunities from the back door! The property is just 5 minutes from the Johnsrud boat launch on the Blackfoot, and 15 minutes to Lubrecth Experimental Forest. We are 25 minutes from Missoula, and 30 minutes to Seeley Lake. There are a few other families who live close by, but far enough away that you can't hear or really see them. You will enjoy daily interactions with our resident deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional bunny. Our home is about 2200 square feet, with plenty of space for family gatherings. Three out of the four bedrooms offer comfortable king size beds, and the fourth has a comfy queen. Though we imagine guests will spend most of their time taking in views from the huge deck, there are also two comfortable living rooms and a "happy hour" lounge with a dual sided wood fireplace in which to relax. Please note there is not cell phone service at our place, however if you are an IPhone user with a newer model, it is possible to both text and make calls via the WiFi. We do not have cable or satellite TV, but you can access Netflix, Amazon, etc. using our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Chromecast or Amazon Fire stick. There is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and possibly even your boat!
Peaceful and quiet. Close access to hiking, fishing, exploring, close proximity to Missoula.

  • This was a beautiful home, perfect for the rustic setting. We had a 1yo baby with our group and the toys were a BIG hit. Definitely would recommend to others. Thank you!

  • Darcey & Joe were FANTASTIC! They accommodated us on such short notice over holiday weekend. House was perfect! Had everything we needed and more! The pictures do home no justice. Beds were extremely comfortable and plenty of linens. Kitchen was stocked for all our meals. Very family friendly. Thanks again guys!!!!!

  • This is a beautiful and private property. The home is comfortable, well-appointed, and very clean with everything we needed for a long weekend getaway. The firepit was great and we were lucky to be there during a time when we could take advantage of it. Darcey and Joe were responsive to any questions we had. I hope we can go back soon!

  • This is a nice two-level home in the woods with a great porch and a fire pit (assuming low fire danger). It was the perfect place for some old friends to relax and socialize with a great view. The kitchen was well equipped, there was a nice grill, the bedrooms were all comfortable, and Darcey even left some toiletries for those of us who forgot things. Darcey was incredibly friendly. It is 20-30 min. from a grocery store or most restaurants (Missoula), but if you want to get away, this is a very nice place to escape to!

    Jesse2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Darcey's place was perfect for our group. It was neat and clean and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the deck!

  • Our family loved this place!! Darcey communicated with us very well & was very accommodating. The house is a very nice inside, clean, somewhat rustic decor, & had nice attention to details. We enjoyed the large deck, mountain setting & views, fire pit outdoors, fireplace indoors. The beds were large, comfy, with nice bedding & comforters. There also was a crib & toys for kids. Couldn't have asked for better would do it again anytime!!

    toni2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 4 had a great start to our Montana trip at Darcey's beautiful home! We had way more space than we needed and had a fun time making dinner in Darcey's well-stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the cool breeze in the evening. Darcey was great about communication and gave us a great tip for a nearby place to swim. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We are a homestead called Sundog, please search Sundog Permastead for info. We border Lubrecht, a 28,000 acre Experimental Forest, for your hiking pleasure. Missoula is 30 mi W, Glacier National Park is 3 hrs N, and the Blackfoot River (A River Runs Though It) is 10 mi away.
    - Spacious yurt with folding futon, and electricity. - The use of cigarettes, e-cigs, and drugs are not permitted.
    Very private neighborhood.
  • We had a great time in the cozy yurt! The property is stunning, and it isn't too far of a drive to Missoula. Hunter brought us a basket of homemade bread and dried fruits and other treats. We stayed warm inside the yurt during the cold night. We highly recommend this place! Don't trust (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps though, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) doesn't know how to get to beautiful places in the country.

    Jamie2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was 30 minutes outside of downtown Missoula, which is exactly what my husband and I were looking for. The attention to detail from the BEAUTIFUL breakfast in the morning, jugs of water, trail mix, the big beautiful bed, to lavender in jars by the bed. We were very grateful to have a one night stay here.

    Emily2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication with the host and the yurt itself was as advertised: a clean, well constructed round house.

    Brooks2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool yurt! Quiet and relaxing stay on a groovy homestead. Nice outdoor breakfast.

    Nathan2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy retreat with comfortable bed and some nice touches. A lovely getaway run by friendly people. We felt very at home and enjoyed the hot coffee and breakfast -- as well as the shower inside the main house -- in the morning.

    Paul2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a rustic camping experience, without the hassle of setting up a tent and with the luxury of a cozy bed this is your jam. We really enjoyed staying at Sundog and the yurt was exactly as pictured. Fresh trailmix on arrival and water in the room for us. Delicious coffee and home made bread and fruit in the morning. Nice walk to a view of trees 360 degrees was so invigorating. This place helped us feel connected with nature even with two young kiddos who aren't quite ready for a tent camping experience yet. I didn't love the outhouse, but that was clearly apart of the experience and was advertised as such. This is your spot for a rustic glamping experience in a beautiful safe forest :)

  • Hunter went above and beyond what was expected as a host. From complimentary breakfast to invitations to social gatherings in town, he is very accommodating. The yurt had the most comfortable bed I've felt in quite awhile… Plenty of wildlife around the property and even chickens rustling about. Great rustic feeling site for my first time venturing into the land where 'A River Runs Through IT'.

    Judson2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • As a city girl wanting to experience a bit of nature, I loved how this listing was both rustic and somewhat luxurious at the same time.

  • We had a great experience in the private cabin in Potomac. The listing was exactly as Hunter described it. They provided such great touches to a rustic feel. Lavender by your bed, candles, etc... Hunter was very welcoming and greeted us when we arrived. Breakfast in the morning surpassed all my expectations and was absolutely delicious. Camas, their dog is the cutest thing as well. Great experience and I would definitely go back!!!

    Paige2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for our one night stay. Since it was a little chilly the night we stayed Hunter provided us with a space heater and extra blankets. It was perfect!

  • We had a great time at Hunter's place! He was very friendly and the organic breakfast was a great bonus! I would definitely recommend this place!

  • it was a little difficult to reach hunter by phone or internet, but then i did only book a day beforehand and the sundog eco-community is a little cut off in the hills. the directions to the cabin were excellent and once i did meet hunter, he was very welcoming.

  • What a spectacular place. Wish we could have stayed longer. But now we want to make our own ecovillage so we can live like this every day. Exceptional experience for those wanting to find some quiet outdoors! So many small details taken care of - nice smelling spray in outhouse, water jogs filled up in the cabin, etc. They're doing a great job here!

  • We had such a fantastic stay at this wonderful cabin! Everyone was was so welcoming and nice. So unique!

    Amanda2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint, little cabin in the woods was awesome. Having fellow travelers staying on the property was a pleasant surprise, and sipping coffee and eating breakfast under the yurt while visiting with them was way cool. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Thanks!
