This guest suite is part of, but separate from, the rest of our home, with its own entrance. We added on this space less than 3 years ago (late 2014), so it is in great condition. We're located in a rural setting. We have a few farm animals here - a horse, a few goats, chickens & a pair of ducks. We have dogs, but they do not have access to the Guest House. The guest suite is perfect for a single adult, or a couple. Schedule early, or stay for 7 days or longer, and get a discounted rate.
Spacious, cozy, with easy access to many attractions! Perfect if you want to explore the area, or just settle in for some stress-free time away from home. We are located less than an hour from many historic sites. Since I love to take pictures, I know that this is a photographers delight - bring your macro lens. Like to check out the stars? We'll turn off the outside lights - when the night is clear, we can see the Milky Way! If the weather permits, you can watch the stars from the deck!
Because we are rural, we don't have a lot of neighbors, but there is one house right next door. We want to treat all people in the same respectful manner that we want to be treated ourselves. You can feel free to walk most areas of the farm - you'll likely see deer, maybe hawks, owls, and, if you're lucky, bald eagles.
  • Very clean and polite owner. :)

  • Phyllis’s place is great! I loved the quiet location, the homemade bread, and the fabulous hospitality!!

    Jessica2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very simple place to stay when you are in town, but the word simple is not a bad thing here. For the price the location is great. You really feel like it’s a mini getaway. The hosts were super nice, friendly and made me feel like I was safe. I would definitely book this little get away as my stay next.

    Jacob2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Due to the nature of our trip we arrived late at Phyllis’s and departed early so our stay was very short but nice. We appreciated the snow shoveling.

    Catherine2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Phillis’s house is very very clean and I felt warmed in her house. The farm is broad and we see the horse and sheep in the farm.

    Leo2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very nice comfortable place to stay. Everything was very good and we enjoyed our visit greatly. We were able to check in and out easily using the code so we had freedom to come and go whenever we wished. The sitting room was quite comfortable with nice chairs and everything was very pleasing.

This listing is for the smaller bedroom comfortable for a single or close couple with a very comfortable queen-sized bed overlooking the pond. Waken to a view of the sunrise over the water! A larger room is also available separately listed as "Rural Rooms in Comfortable Quiet Farmhouse."

  • Affordable and a great place to stay, George was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

    Chris2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed here several times before, and the location never disappoints. George is a dedicated host, and the space is a great value: comfortable, clean, large and warm, with plenty of amenities. I’ll be back!

    Andrew2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The area was very clean and comfortable. You essentially have a whole spacious basement, which includes a TV area, a private bath, a coffee area and a bedroom. George was a gracious and welcoming host. I plan to stay there frequently.

    Andrew2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • A really comfortable and private accommodation for any guest.

    Debbie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • George's place is in a very nice residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking. It is easily accessible to shopping and dining. The guest area is really the whole downstairs which George has fixed up beautifully. It really is like having your own good sized apartment. I truly enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend George's location when you are in the north Baltimore area.

    Phillip2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • George's place is always a pleasure to stay at.

    James2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfortable. It is a basement apartment so it has plenty of room. George supplies Kcups, bottled water for the coffee maker and internet connection. The location is in a nice neighborhood.

    Ed2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • George was a fantastic host and his home was in a great location for the event I was attending. The space was clean, and well kept up, and I had plenty of privacy to relax and wind down from my day. Definitely a wonderful place to stay, and a fantastic host. Very understand when my flight was delayed by almost 2 hours! Also had a great suggestion for breakfast on my first day there! Spike (his dog) was also a wonderful host and was full of wags and kisses when I arrived in the evenings! Great experience, and I would definitely recommend!

  • What a great little space to relax and enjoy the country atmosphere. Michelle has put a real personal touch on it. Loved the house and the occasional sound of a horse and buggy riding by. Highly recommended!

  • A quiet little country cottage that has 18th century charms

    Lindsey2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely space full of character. If you like a place that embraces its age gracefully so, then you’ll love this quaint little space with its super comfy bed! It is in a perfect location for the nearby towns that offer touristy type activities for those interested in learning about the Amish community. Waking up to the sounds of a horse galloping along the road, it also offers a country setting for venturing out and taking in the nearby beautiful landscape. Michelle offers all the creature comforts for starting off your day with a stocked area of teas, coffee, water, and quick breakfast foods.

  • We had a lovely time! I'm glad we didn't need it, but I appreciated having the host available if anything came up. The area of the home where we stayed was very charming and I wasnt pleasantly surprised by how warm it was during the winter even though it's such an old house.

    Jessica2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • All was as expected. Michelle was welcoming and accommodating. The room had a separate entrance so we were able to get back after an evening out without disturbing anyone. We also throughly enjoyed the area around Lancaster during our visit.

    Dave2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cute and comfortable! We absolutely loved the hosts and they were so helpful and accomodating. Great value and beautiful location.

  • If you love older homes, you will love staying here. It is a charming suite. Sparkling clean, great hosts, all of the conveniences you could need. Great place in the middle of farm country. I heard the clip-clop of the Amish buggies, and loved the location. I would recommend this place highly and I am sure that I will go back for another visit.

  • Quiet, clean, peaceful, and absolutely perfect. Robin was a great host, the view was fantastic and the rental was charming and had all I needed. Just book it!

    Larry2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do this place justice. It's definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed in years. Tasteful, remote, beautiful place. We'll definitely be back.

  • I wasn’t sure what to expect staying in a home that is so old. I was a little worried about it being drafty as I am someone who gets cold easily but this amazing cabin has been beautifully remodeled. It retains its historic charm and beauty but has been perfectly updated for modern comfort. The bedroom was well heated and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Downstairs is a large flatscreen with a huge, thoughtful selection of DVD’s. Robin left a nice bottle of red wine, coffee, tea, etc to enjoy during our stay. There is a large balcony upstairs connected to the bedroom to enjoy views and take the sun. Unfortunately it was a freezing 30 degrees during our stay which means we will have to come back in the spring so we can actually use it! There are nice touches everywhere. Books on art, music, etc. As soon as we walked in I was regretting not booking a longer trip. The only thing that would make this place better is a little stove or hot plate since it’s rather far from decent eats. I would have liked to have spent more time just relaxing at the cabin but we had to leave to eat several times. HOWEVER, I did not read the listing well enough. Robin does state that there is no stove, I just didn’t see it. And he was kind enough to let us use his personal stove so we could cook the food we brought with us for dinner on our first night! All in all, absolutely spectacular. I think my partner and I talked about moving in about a hundred times during our three day stay. This Airbnb is incredibly special. :)

  • Syd Acres is a darling place. Everything you could possibly need is provided — books to read, a piano to play, wine to drink, a very comfy bed, and the serene setting in which to enjoy all of it. It’s also very close to Conowingo Dam, where dozens of bald eagles congregate from October to December. I’ve already recommended Syd Acres to a friend and hope to come back in the Spring.

    Hannah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The drive to the cabin was very scenic and enjoyable. Robin is a great host. The place is immaculate and comfortable. A great combination of retro style accommodations with a modern touch. Words cannot describe the beautiful view from the 2nd story porch. I stayed during the fall but I imagine the view is gorgeous all year round.

    Mauricio2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Syd Acres is comfortable, clean, and full of interesting architectural details. The grounds are serene and watching the sun climb over the hills was the perfect way to start the day. Robin was easy to reach, offered suggestions, and made our stay easy and comfortable. We hope to return.

This cozy studio is on the first level of our guest house. There is a spacious kitchen that is fully appointed and a recently updated bath with large shower. The bathroom is ADA compliant. Bring your horse along! (Prices separate). Please note, this is the country and there are critters of all shapes and sizes out here, including bugs, flies, mosquitos, plus livestock cats and dogs loose on the property.
This is a great space for a great price! Come out to the country and enjoy!
  • Lauren and Y.P’s place was amazing. It was my first time living in a rural area so I was a bit nervous, but the studio is very accommodating! I enjoyed my time and loved the scenery, definitely a place I could see myself raising my children in.

    Andres2020-01-03T00:00:00Z

Step back in time in our historic 1765 Log Home located on our working farm in Harford County Maryland. You are welcome to bring your horses if you are in the area for competition or pleasure.
Our farm is 50 minutes from Baltimore, 35 min from Aberdeen Proving Ground, 90 minutes from Washington DC.
Our farm is quiet, and peaceful, however we do raise Black Angus cattle, horses, chickens and there are dogs and cats.
  • We loved our stay at Karen’s log cabin! The farm and the surrounding land is absolutely gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with her dogs and loved that we could walk 10 steps and purchase some of her eggs, jams etc..during our stay! The log cabin itself is so comfy and cozy and a marvelous piece of history. Karen’s log cabin is the sweetest most peaceful escape in Harford county. We can’t wait until our next visit :)

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magic. Truly was one of the most incredible hideaways. Being able to sit on the porch and look at the farm was the highlight of our stay. The cabin itself is charming, filled with so much history and warmth. Check out the family’s produce shop for the BEST blackberry jam! Lots of cute antique stores around the area as well. Will definitely be staying here again!

    Hannah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing night or weekend get away. The space is comfortable and perfectly decorated. The wood stove will keep you warm and it has all of the features of a modern home inside of a beautiful log cabin! The farm is beautiful and the hosts are 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!

    Hans2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect space to get away! My partner and I never left the farm. The wood burning stove was perfect to lay and read by. Super cozy!!!

    Meghan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway! So quaint and cozy - it’s easy to relax and feel at home. Peaceful setting and beautiful views.

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Log House is such a magical place. We were constantly in awe of the architecture and the care it took to put the logs back together. Karen and Brian set up the coziest space and were very attentive to our needs. The farm is so beautiful in the rain and shine. We never wanted to leave!!! Can’t wait to return.

    Hannah2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Karen and Brian’s for our anniversary. What a special place they have truly. The house and it’s history, the peacefulness of the rolling fields with cows and horses (and dogs 😊) , the wood burning stove... a hundred more little things that all add up to just a perfect getaway. Got some of their homemade honey too for our tea!! They were always quick to respond and very helpful in recommendations for dining and surrounding area activities. Thanks so much!!

    Patrick2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend!! Karen and Brian are excellent hosts. We were met with a fire already started in the wood stove and quickly settled in for a great weekend. The log home is comfortable and warm, the property is stunning (don’t miss out on catching a sunrise from the front porch!) and close enough to lots of activities if you do want to go adventuring. Also, their two farm dogs are just the sweetest and will happily keep you company on your walks! Can’t wait to go back again. Thanks for everything.

    Michael2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • 2nd time staying, this time 10 days. I work early/late, so I didn't spend much time there except when I worked over the weekend (set up at the dining room table). Would come back without hesitation. Plenty of food options, Independent Brewery, Ma and Pa Trail just down the street. Did not use kitchen, but did use laundry in basement. Super good Iron and board! 😁

    Mark2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed the stay. Nice to have a fridge in closet. Sweet cat greeted me every evening I got in. Visited Independent Brewery just up the street.

  • I did not personally stay here. I put my out of town contractor up at Brian's. I did however go in and it's a very nice place to stay. Location is key if you want to be around everything in bel air and this spot has that going for it. My contractor said he was very comfortable here and felt welcome. Communication was outstanding and I can not stress enough how great of a place this is to stay. Thanks again!

We invite you to stay at our River Hills Amish Guesthouse to get an authentic taste of the Amish way of life. Ask about an Amish buggy ride and enjoy feeding the farm animals on this 5 acre rural property. We're located just down the road from the Pinnacle Overlook on the scenic Susquehanna River, and less than a mile from the numerous walking trails of the Tucquan Nature Preserve. We're also just a 25 min. drive to the town of Strasburg with the Sight & Sound Theater and Strasburg Rail Road.
This is an authentic Amish home. It's not connected to the electrical grid. However there is plenty of light provided by the cordless battery operated lights in each room. You can even charge your phones by pluging into a battery pack. The refrigerator & stove run on propane gas. This is a split level home with about 6 steps leading up to the main floor with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, plus kitchen & living room. Anotheror 6 steps lead down to the other sitting area and half bathroom. Some provisions for a self-serve breakfast are provided. Enjoy the farm fresh eggs & milk in the fridge!
  • Eli and Mary were kind, considerate, and gracious hosts. Their home is clean and in the middle of a very quiet part of the country where light pollution is at a low and you can see so many more stars than we can in the city. Despite the rural farm setting it was dark and amazingly quiet at night. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

  • From the beautiful, clean, peaceful, secluded home, to the hot tub, to the campfire, all around a very enjoyable stay for my spouse and our 6 year old daughter for our little weekend getaway. Highly recommend to anyone looking. We will certainly book again with Kara next time we come to that area!

    Eugene2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed in staying at Kara and Dustin’s. We have stayed at several Airbnb homes, but Kara’s is the only one we have returned to. In fact, this was our 3rd time to her home. It feels like coming home each year. It was cold out so being able to have a fire in the fireplace was so comforting and relaxing! We hope to keep this tradition going. Thank you Kara and Dustin for always making our stay so wonderful !!

    Emily2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Kara's place and it was just as relaxing the second time around! Very clean, comfortable beds and couch, and a well stocked kitchen for cooking! I will definitely be back. Thank you!

  • This rental is very lovely and cozy. The beds were super comfy and the home was very clean. There were a lot of amenities just in case we left anything. The area was remote and very peaceful. Just a fun drive through the twisty roads to get to Lancaster and all the sights. The hot tub was very nice and we had a nice relaxing time in it.

    Jennifer2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and clean space. Communication was excellent. Highly recommended.

    Luke2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Expect beautiful surroundings, and 4 star accommodations!

    Kelly2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karas place is absolute perfection. We felt like it was even better than what was described. It was cozy, comfortable, quiet and romantic. There was plenty of space. Oh and knowing that we were there for a quiet romantic weekend away we never even saw or heard our hosts but we had every bit of contact information needed for the just in case. Everything you needed beyond ones own groceries was provided. One couldnt have asked for a cleaner or more friendly, inviting place to stay. There are a lot of little nice thoughtful touches in addition to an absolutely perfect apartment that made our stay more pleasurable. They compiled a nice listing of things to do around town with descriptions and directions to each of those things. I wish we could have stayed there for more than the weekend. Next time!

    Radomir2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed for the weekend with family. Lovely spot, very clean, peaceful and had everything we needed! Hot tub was amazing as well!

  • Adrianna's place is one of the best places I've stayed on airbnb. Its the lower part of her home, but is private and very comfortable with a great bed and a large bathroom. I loved the nearby rail trail, which is less than 5 minutes walk away. There is a fully equipped kitchen. I had a very peaceful stay.

    Gabriel2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Adrianna was very accommodating and very quick response. Place was very nice good location. Will definitely come back.

  • Cozy place in a pretty area close to scenic Lancaster. Adrianna is an A+ host and her policies are super clear and she is very responsive without being intrusive in the least. Would highly reccomend

    Christopher2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place for a great price. It's about a 20-40 minute ride away from many of the highlights but the drive through the countryside is amazing! Few tourists know that many main local sights are by busy roads with traffic, so coming back to this apartment gives you all of the great views that you'd want in Lancaster County without that touristy feel or traffic. It's also affordable and quiet. Most hotels in the area charge ridiculous prices and are also on traffic heavy streets. This home was quiet, bigger than a hotel room with more amenities, with very nice hosts, and was a fantastic price. We will definitely be back here again! Thank you to our hosts!

    Linda2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Would stay again. Clean & quiet!

    Melanie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable space to stay. The bed was very comfortable and it was very clean. For some reason my Apple map on my phone did not direct me to the correct address on the street, but the mailbox was clearly marked so I was easily able to located it by the actual address. I would definitely rebook this space if I am in the area again.

    Lori2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Adrianna’s place was perfect for mine and my husbands little getaway. The place can be a tad cold at night so bring some slippers and a robe. She does state that though she has a Nest you can control, it can take time for the place to heat up. But it does heat good! Just be patient. Adrianna was very communicative if we needed anything at all and the place was spotless. Thanks for a great stay!

  • It was my first time using airbnb and i was quite worry about this. It was a trip to celebrate y wife's birthday and I want to stay in a place better than a normal hotel. Oliver's place is way exceed my expectations. Everything, especially the little details, are just perfect to make a vocation a outatanding one. I just feel I am lucky to pick this as my first airbnb experience.

    Siu Tung2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing master bathroom. Comfortable bed and plenty of seating in the living room. Can be tricky to find at night, so closely follow the host's directions.

  • This place is a real gem. Olivia keeps the room exceptionally clean with many nice touches to make your stay very comfortable. The photos do not show how large the rooms really are. It would be very hard to find a place nicer then this. Additionally, Olivia is a great host who responds quickly with any questions you may have.

  • This house is located about 10 miles from Sight and Sound, the American Music Theater, shopping and restaurants. It's in a picturesque location and was very clean. Amish Buggies were seen several times, riding by right in front of the house! The house was clean and offered many amenities; coffee, tea, Wi-Fi, books, movies and games. There is a lot of seating for louging and eating. Great location for families, girls or couples get away.

  • The Camargo Inn is a nice country farmhouse that would suit a group or family. The backyard is beautiful and you can enjoy it from the family room. Should the weather bring you inside there are games, movies, books and toys for little ones. Our group of ladies enjoyed our stay to relax and catch up away from responsibilities of work and home. Thank you for hosting us and making our stay seamless and comfortable.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful, charming farm house! There was so much space for all of our guests but the house still so cozy. Wyonna was very responsive when we needed her. The home is about 20min from a great Amish market, but on the farm you are surrounded by beautiful farm land. Overall, a great place to come and relax with a group!

  • Caroline’s place is very peaceful and everything is tidy and comfortable. Very comfy bed and nice white linens, at least until I showed up after a clay plastering workshop:) Sorry! Make sure if you go to a Sigi Kokos’ class that you use the dark towels. The omelet is to die for and there’s nothing better than a warm pot of Irish breakfast to start my morning off. She has cute little touches throughout the space. The dogs are gentle and unobtrusive, for people not used to dogs. I enjoyed our frequent visits and she took extra care to make sure my needs were met after the class when I was tired and hungry.

    Tami2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline is a gracious hostess, wonderful cook and fabulous baker. Her sweet rolls were delicious! Her home is peaceful and spacious, with a lovely view overlooking the surrounding field and ponds. Recommend Caroline’s place for a weekend getaway.

  • Caroline was great! Very accommodating and friendly.

    Emily2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I ended up being a lot busier during our trip than we anticipated, but Caroline's house provided the best calming space we could've hoped for. It would've been nice to have a bit more free time to enjoy the scenery and the space to just unwind an relax. I'll definitely keep that in mind when scheduling my next trip to the area. Caroline is very kind and there are plenty of engaging conversations to be had! Capella and Quint are also just the sweetest dogs. They really made the space feel like home while I was away from my dog.

Home is blocked 3 days after each booking for thorough disinfecting. Charming country home in small PA town. Within an hour of Baltimore and Philadelphia. Only 1.5 hours from D.C. Come stay in the country and enjoy this small Amish town. House is situated on 2 acres and there is not a neighbor in site. The front porch is the place to be! There are 2 queen size rooms, one is the master, a room with 2 sets of bunk beds, a futon and 2 air mattresses available. Full kitchen and adjoining dining.
House is big and roomy. The front porch is the most comfortable spot. Close to grocery stores, and downtown Delta. Lancaster, Baltimore, Philadelphia and D.C. are not far!
Amish and Mennonite families live close by, so you will see their buggies going up and down the street. Other than that, the neighborhood is pretty quiet.
  • Laura's place was a great retreat for social distancing:) the house is very private, no adjacent neighbors or houses. The place itself is full of thoughtful touches like toys and books for kids, pets area etc. Communication was great and Laura always made sure we have all we need. The WiFi was strong and there is a desk in the master bedroom so we could work remotely the entire time. The only things I would add are gas grill and fencing the front yard since there is a road and it required more attention to my son and dog while out. Thanks for everything!

    Nil2020-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were so grateful to find such a clean and homey place at this time. Our city kids loved the big yard and the kids' room with bunk beds, toys, and book - and the big comfy seats in the living room for watching Netflix. The kitchen was really well organized. Laura was a very responsive host.

    Shane2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We needed a place to stay ASAP and this cozy Airbnb was able to accommodate us right away! The wood burning fireplace was the most wonderful touch as we were there for the winter and it snowed! This was a perfect home for our family during our stay in Delta. We will keep the home in mind and be back next year

    Trish2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute trip and Laura responded quickly and accommodatingly. The house is in a quiet rural area about 15 minutes from commercial zones. The indoor fireplace was lovely when we got chilly at the fire pit in the secluded backyard. The house is very spacious and comfortable especially for the price. The self check in allowed us a lot of flexibility and she was very kind with a flexible check out. We loved our quiet getaway and look forward to staying with her again!

The beautiful cabin is a nature lover's paradise with a babbling brook that offers solace for the body and soul. It is a retreat that will allow you to do social distancing while you feel the presence of God as you relax and take deep breaths! This home has a master bedroom with a queen bed, and a second bedroom with a single trundle bed. This renovated cozy cabin is tucked away in the heart of Lancaster County and is great for couples, solo adventurers, or quiet retreats.
This space is perfect for honeymooners, married couples, weekend getaway/anniversary, small groups and small families. We hope you will be blessed and be able to tune in to the whispers of God during your stay. It boasts a quaint little bathroom (with a claw-foot vintage tub with a detachable shower nozzle) and a stocked custom kitchen designed to resemble the early 1900's! You may expect to very quickly fall in love with the rippling creek that runs through the backyard and with the cozy romantic cabin atmosphere. Neighbors are sparse, and the Lancaster County shopping malls and Amish country are a scenic 30 minute drive away. The cabin is one half hour from where we are located, so you will receive complete instructions on how to unlock the cabin and close it up again. There is a land line phone at the cabin where you may call our number if you have any questions. It is truly a beautiful and unique place to relax and refocus! We expect our guests to treat this house as if it were their own, and to leave it as they found it. The homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injury or illness that occur while on the premises of this property or its facilities. Sheets and towels are provided.
The neighborhood is quiet and expects to be respected, as in silence after dark. There are Amish neighbors at the end of the road! You will feel like you are in Kentucky or West Virginia because of the conservatory that surrounds it. There are walking trails, and a hiking trail to the Susquehanna River (from River Road to the west), and "The Pinnacle Overlook" that boasts Lancaster County's highest point.
  • This is a lovely place in a pretty isolated part of amish country. The house only has neighbors on one side and backs up to a lovely creek. I loved the antique gas oven opening the windows to the sound of the creek.

  • Everything about Ervin and Martha’s home was wonderful. It’s proximity to local hiking and tranquility along the creek was exactly what we needed from the city. I would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

    Robert2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing little cabin and a perfect spot to rest and recover from the toil of our hectic daily lives. Sitting next to the little stream that runs by the cabin was our absolute favorite part. So peaceful.

    Cody2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I chose Ervin and Martha’s cabin as a getaway from the city bustle of Philadelphia for my partner and I. With glowing reviews and a well-described space, the cabin was exactly as described and perfect for our purposes. Romantic, cozy, warm, quiet, in short a wonderful place to spend some personal time with a loved one, or a family! I surely think we’ll be back. Thank you!

We have a three story A-frame in a small forest in southern Lancaster County. You get the entire downstairs area which has a separate entrance, private bathroom, sitting area, bedroom, and limited kitchen (refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and coffee/tea kettle). The surrounding area is rural, peaceful and quiet. Lancaster City is 15 miles to the north, Philadelphia 60 miles to the east, and Baltimore 60 miles to the south. Please read the Disclaimer below BEFORE you book.
We are renting a small suite. There is a separate sitting area with a propane fireplace*, and a unique private bath (look at the pictures). The space is on the lower level. It faces out to a patio and forest which you can see from inside through the glass doors. DISCLAIMER -- PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK -- (1) Because we are in a small forest in southern Lancaster County, there is almost no TV, just one channel; (2) The wifi is a bit slow, approx 3.1 mbps; (3) There is no cooking in the room or use of any kitchen facilities in the main house; there is a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee/tea kettle, but not a regular range top stove; (4) In the winter the guest area is heated with a coal stove which requires us to shake the ash and add coal two times a day, usually at 7:30 am (sometimes later on weekends) and 6-7 pm when we get home from work; we will take care of this and request (require) that the guests do not make any adjustments to the air flow or other settings on the stove or add any coal themselves; (5) *When the coal stove is operating, you cannot also use the fireplace; both cannot be operating at the same time; (6) Non-Smokers Only. There is no smoking on the property, of any substance. If you smoke this is not an appropriate setting for you; (7) we have a videocam pointed at the driveway; it is outside; there are no recording devices of any kind inside; and (8) If any of the foregoing is not to your liking -- if you want 101 cable TV channels, blazing internet speed, a kitchen in your room, and/or heat but not by a coal stove -- you might want to consider a different Airbnb
We are off the road in a small forest. The surrounding neighborhood is rural and there are several Amish farms close by. It is not unusual to see the fields being tilled by horse drawn equipment (in season), as well as various styles of Amish buggies along the road. If you are interested, we can take you to one of the Amish families just down the road where we buy fresh eggs and other items. Some of our guests have purchased eggs and/or a freshly killed duck (cleaned and feathers removed, of course) from this Amish family.
  • There is no words or scale for this place! It is just perfect for people who seek a little a beauty in the woods. The details of the decorations and the love Marina puts in everything is just beautiful! Airbnb needs more hosts like Marina and her husband. They care a lot and give you outstanding tips for the surrounding. Just lovely . Thanks for everything. Hope to have to chance to meet you once more.

  • If one is going to be both a happy host and a successful one, one needs to enjoy exploring their guests' personalities and tastes to best serve them. Airbnb is fortunate to have many such hosts and hostesses. Marina could be the best. Both the facilities and the hostess have a completely unique charm and openness.

    Frank2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Surely this has been said before, but I cannot help but repeat it: this was by far the best Air BnB stay I have ever had. Whatever expectations I had regarding my stay in Quarrysville were blown away by Marina's (and Robert's) hospitality and kindness. I got home a few days ago and I simply cannot stop gushing about this experience to everyone I know. From the lovely breakfasts and Marina's thoughtfulness (picking one of the last flowers she saw and decorating our tray with it!), to Marina's eagerness to make us feel welcome and at home, this stay was all I could have ever wanted (and more!). I feel bad for the Air BnB's I may stay at in the future: my experience as a guest in Marina's home has ruined me. I don't think I will find any hostess more lovely. I cannot wait to return!

    McKenna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What can we say that previous guests have not already raved about and highly praised? It's a wonderful setting in the forest, we love hearing stories from people who travel the world. Marina has visited 56 (gasp!) countries! (This writer has only been to 18 countries. . . and would love to travel more). Marina demonstrates what the word hospitality truly means. She is very gracious and eager to make our experience perfect. She also gave us many hours just to relax in her and Robert's beautiful yard. Everything we could have possibly have wanted or even thought about, or NOT even thought about was provided. (They offered their hammock! I would have never even dreamed of asking for a hammock)! To find someone in our own "back yard" (half an hour from our home) that integrates their many travels into their hospitality in countless ways warmed our hearts all the way through. And the food! Oh, the food! Lovingly cooked, presented with the use of spices and teas gathered from world travels and from the nearby Amish farm - I'm drooling as I write this. The space itself has to be the most unique Airbnb we have ever stayed in, much of it having been constructed very professionally by our hosts themselves. (The bathroom walls are hundreds of flat stones they picked up on their property and created beauty out of). The decor and furnishings are treasures gathered from around the world. Imagine sleeping in a museum. Thank you, Marina and Robert for making our weekend away so special and relaxing.

    Rachel2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Marina is a wonderful host. She showed so much hospitality and I loved the blinchikis. She is very attentive to her guests and such a sweet lady. She goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home.

    Monique2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Marina’s place is beyond amazing! She and her husband were very creative, warming and caring host. They provided breakfast (which I wasn’t expecting) and other amenities that were not even listed on the airbnb! Can’t wait to use my soap!

    Chanelle (Candy)2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A hostess that goes above and beyond! The place is CLEAN and so interesting since she decorates with items that she has gathered from all the countries she has visited!

  • This was our second trip up to Brandon and Amanda’s house. To say that our stay was amazing would be an understatement. You need to experience this house for yourself!

    Justin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I am so incredibly happy we stayed at this cozy home for a winter escape from the city! Amanda and Brandon really went above and beyond for my friends and I this past weekend. We used the grocery service they offer which was a huge timesaver for our large group. Anything you can think of they provided- tea, coffee, s’mores, wood for a fire, fresh eggs from their chickens, baked pastries upon arrival! The attention to detail was lovely and they were available via text for anything we needed during our stay. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer! Perfect for a group of adults or families with children. Stay here you won’t regret it!

    Shannon2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Arriving to this house was one of those feelings that is almost impossible to describe when we pulled up. The home is GORGEOUS! Tucked in the windy hills of Amish country with a beautiful creek flowing nearby. So much room for our three families with 7 kids plus 6 adults! This house took clean to another level! I joked we could sleep on the floor it was so clean! Amanda and Brandon, the hosts who are a Navy family were incredible! They joined us for game night and even spent their New Years with us feasting on steaks and lobster! Fresh eggs from the chickens were delivered, coals were changed, shoo-fly pie brought for all to enjoy! I post this because I want people to experience this amazing home and these kind souls! Brandon and Amanda are our friends now, brought on by an unfortunate previous Airbnb situation at another rental, and I’m so happy for it! Check out their home and go visit them! The House At Climber’s Run I PROMISE you will not be disappointed with the house or the great towns surrounding it!

    Elise2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent the Thanksgiving holidays at Brandon and Amanda’s place. It was a great gathering place for our family - grandmom, cousins and sisters. We were cozy and comfortable in the mill house. We enjoyed some Amish treats left for us on arrival - including a shoo fly pie! The kitchen was well equipped and complimentary coffee and tea were available. We explored the area each day and then came back to watch Netflix in the lower level den. The beds were very comfortable and the location was peaceful and beautiful. You won’t be disappointed with a stay here.

    Cynthia2019-11-30T00:00:00Z

The cottage are very well decorated and felt spacious than the actual size. It was extremely clean and felt so warm and lovely. Backyards with table and chairs to relax. The eat-in kitchen has everything you need to cook a good meal, a separate coffee station. Breakfast were all ready with homemade bread, fresh eggs, jam and coffee cream;. and whoopie pies for snacks. The beds are very comfortable and lots of closet space for luggage. We met the piggies and chicken and they are adorable. We will definitely hope to visit again. Candy and Freddie, Thank you very much for hosting us!

  • All of the added touches that were provided in the guest home made it feel more like home and as if we were friends instead of guests. Who doesn’t love homemade bread, fresh eggs, and whoopie pies (that were to die for)? It truly felt like a home and we could relax. We enjoyed the class on Saturday, as well. This house felt spacious and was extremely clean and well stocked for our stay. It was so nice to not have to bring linens and towels. Candy and Freddie and all the “girls” were friendly and welcoming. Definitely one to keep on my list!

    Melissa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were super friendly and available for any needs. The area was super homey with small personal touches to give you extra comfort. Everything was very clean. All basic necessities of a home were included such as paper towels, toilet paper, pots and pans and even some seasonings. Minimal shopping required. If there were any complaints, it would be there are two showers and no bath tub, which is negligible. Overall, a great experience!

    Robert2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely cottage was so much more than I expected. It was absolutely lovely. And the ambassador (Lulu) was awesome. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

  • Candy and Freddie's house is super cute, comfortable, and even had it decorated for Christmas! It had plenty of room for our family. We hope to go back another time.

    Christy2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Not enough good things to say about Candy & Freddie. Truly exceptional people with an awesome space. Next year, we're coming back and bringing the kids!

    Jenn2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed in quite a few Airbnb’s over the years and my stay at Candy & Freddie’s might have been the best ever. The space was beautiful and homey—with lots of thoughtful touches, like a card for us and a sweet little note wishing us a good day. We had absolutely everything we needed, from toiletries to cooking supplies, to a plethora of TV channels to choose from at the end of the day. Truthfully, I think my boyfriend and I both wish we could just move right in haha! And on top of everything that was already so wonderful about our stay, Candy and Freddie were just the nicest hosts. Candy met me when I checked in to show me around and they brought the piggies (who are cute as can be) out before we left, as they knew we’d been hoping to meet them. They were warm and inviting and felt more like family friends than folks we’d just met a few days before. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about our stay and hope there will be more in our future!

    Lauren2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • You can’t go wrong choosing Pack House Cottage!! From the moment we arrived it was a breath of fresh air for both my sister and I❤️ The house was immaculate, warm and inviting, total perfection! Candy didn’t forget one special touch, they were all there. We were still discovering cute little touches after being there two days...it was just so wonderfully decorated, supplied, and comfy feeling!! We will def make this a regular trip. We so enjoyed the back porch in the evenings, listening to the clip clop of the Amish buggy’s going thru town, and hanging on the dining platform in the morning taking in the sun with our coffee. We had plenty of room to do some crafting, and actually NEVER even turned on the tv!! But we really enjoyed the ‘fireplace’ tv stand for sure! What a fun and lovely home...between the piggies, the chickens, the squirrels, and the birds, we were totally in nature in the middle of the adorable town of Quarryville ❤️🐷🐔☕️☕️❤️ Thanks to Candy and Freddie for their fabulous hospitality!! God bless!! Tina & Lisa

  • My son was getting married at Honeysuckle Ridge and we have rented the house for Saturday for the bridal party, and ourselves. Then a few of us girls including the bride decided to stay there Friday night also. We had a spectacular time. Our venue was right down the street which made it even better. The house is so big and roomy in a nostalgic setting. It was so roomy that the bride and groom with their baby decided to stay there that night also. Would stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

  • I drove to this beautiful location. The check-in process was very easy and just as anyone would want. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay due to a family emergency and David was wonderful and understanding. I’m hoping my family could stay there in the near future.

  • The house is right off the right and easy to find. The neighboring Amish family were wonderful hosts; they did a late-night bonfire for us, provided fresh eggs and milk, and gave a background on their farm and lifestyle. The house accommodated the eight of us. The kitchen is well stocked. There were fresh linens and towels. The bed slept so good, I was in in by 9pm. If you want an excellent peaceful time, this is the place. It is an excellent place for a small gathering like Thanksgiving. The girls played cards on the deck and hide and seek in the yard. The pictures do not show how large the house is. The upstairs heated nicely, but I wasn't able to get downstairs as warm. There is plenty of parking. It is very quiet, so expect to come for a lot of action. A local pizza place does deliver, so you don't have to cook if you don't want to. David answers questions quickly. I would recommend this place and this host.

  • Briana was a great host! I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers!

    June2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • I needed to extend my stay - I was staying in Briana's other room, and when I needed to stay longer, I moved to this one because the original one was already booked. No problem - just moved my bag downstairs. Everything was still great, and Briana was still awesome. I very strongly recommend Briana's place, because the rooms are clean and comfortable, the location is convenient to town without being in the thick of things, and because Briana herself is such a genuinely nice person/host.

  • Great location near downtown Bel Air. On a busy street but there is no road noise at all in the basement. I travel to Bel Air for work from time to time and plan to stay here again!

  • The house was exactly as expected! Nice, big space with comfortable beds and all the needed amenities. The property is beautiful and we even got to go outside and the neighbor's horses came up to us and let us pet them. Easy to find and get in, and only about 15 minutes from wherever we needed to go.

    Jenette2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful and very comfortable. we especially enjoyed the screened in porch.

    Kayla2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and perfect for our purposes! The house is beautiful and we loved looking at the antiques. We were looking for a quiet place for our kickoff board of directors meeting and this was great. It had plenty of room to work while also we had a chance to enjoy the country air as we discussed the American pastoral ideal. This morning we got to watch the horses being let out of the barn into the pasture while enjoying our coffee/tea. We are very glad that we found this place on Airbnb! Pamela was excellent at answering questions and confirming the door code. The beds were comfortable and there were more than enough towels, etc., for us to use. The only heads-up I would give travelers is that Google Maps decided to take us to the road adjacent to the road to the house. Getting lat/long coordinates may make it easier than having to back out of a 1-lane gravel road because Google thinks the address is at the farm and not the house. Again, the place was fabulous! I'd recommend it to anyone and we likely will be back for another meeting next year!

Go back in time, to a very unique stone home, built in 1860. This home was formerly the Martic Forge Trolley Station around 1905. It truly is like taking a step back in time, with modern amenities. Enjoy the country, hiking, fishing, biking, rock climbing, rail trail, the Susquehana River, and so much more. The Martic Forge trail head is right at the front of this property. Come see all the beauty of Pequea. Perfect for a peaceful Spring getaway!
Washer, dryer, fridge, gas stove, toaster, coffee, microwave.
The Martic Forge trail head is right out front. You can ride the Colemanville's rail trail, rock climb at Safe Harbor & Chickie's rock, hike, fish, explore the wind cave, Tuquan Glenn, Shenk's Ferry wild flower preserve, Kelly's Run, Pinnacle overlook, House Rock, the Susquehanna river, Turkey Hill rail trail, and eat at The Frogtown Cafe.
  • Fantastic location for trail hiking and serene natural getaway. The house is gorgeous, clean and relaxing. We cooked all meals, and the kitchen is well-equipped—just bring any spices, seasonings, oils that you might want.

  • We rented the space for 19 days while my daughter and husband were home on leave. They thoroughly enjoyed the home, the best part being the privacy. It met all expectations.
