Places to stay in Titusville
God's given 35 acres, a mile off main drag (dirt road), near: bike trails, parks, golf, Allegheny River. Get out of the city isolating from Covid 19 with private entrance/location, getting tranquility. Solo/family. Our “farm” has horses, chickens & a cat. Hiking (we’ll provide with map). Schedules permitting, I cook breakfast. In winter, AWD/4WD recommended. God's good & we try to honor Jesus in ALL we do. That means hosting you. Check house rules before booking and respond with "no pets".
Our "House in the Woods" is located on 35 acres of land that includes a: pond, pool, barn, and pasture, all located near Two Mile Run State Park. The park offers fishing, swimming, boating, horse back riding (your horse), cross country skiing and more. You can also swim, fish, trail ride, cross country ski, snow shoe, build a fire, and hike right at our place! We also live 4 miles from the Erie to Pittsburgh bike trail, (which is along the Allegheny River) and The Barrow Theatre. Search it for shows, dates and times. In the space, you'll find: a double bed, two single beds, a futon, a (real) floor mattress, a desk and a high table with seating for 4.
There are quite a few good restaurants in the tri-city area and there is the Barrow Civic Theatre here. The theatre hosts musicals and plays of various types. Our Applefest show, this year, is “The Music Man” and Applefest is the first full weekend of October. There are vendors galore, local (and not so local) talent, many activities, and fair food!
  • Loved staying here. Beautiful place inside and out. It was my our first time using Airbnb and it was a wonderful experience. We loved all the extra details added to this location. I would highly recommend it.

  • Yes, it's way out in the woods but quiet, peaceful and a pretty drive down the driveway. Large space and so many extra, added touches to make you feel right at home.

  • Beautiful and quiet place to relax and unwind. The owners are very friendly and thought of every possible need. Very enjoyable stay.

  • Super long driveway and very secluded

    Andrew2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Being a city girl I was a little intimidated about being “out in the woods” my husband grew up here so no problem for him. But it was a wonderful experience.

  • Amazing!! The property, the hosts, the quiet. This was an awesome experience. We will be back.

  • Absolutely amazing! Gorgeous cabin that was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The location was fantastic and it was a perfect get away from busy life! We hope to return again this year!

  • If you and your spouse are looking for a immaculate turn key cabin in the woods for a night or two— this is it. If you and the kids are looking for a base of operations while they enjoy the outdoors during the day and have a comfy, homey, and warm retreat in the woods to fall into a well deserved slumber—this is it. It is immediately apparent Miss Mel and company take pride in their getaway location. Next time may snow machine over or take cross country skis with us to enjoy the woods. Miss Mel was prompt and professional in her communication and quite timely and accurate in her recommendations. As long as folks continue to take of the property as if it was their home and leave it as the found it—Miss Mel’s will remain on our list of great secret Getaway spots! Best! Your neighbors from Corry

  • Nicer than advertised! Had a great stay, would love to return.

    Brandon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful location and cabin! We stayed in Feb so it was a little chilly but very cozy...exactly what we were looking for. It is rustic but very clean and has everything you need for fun and relaxation. Just enough modern convenience to be really comfortable but still be "unplugged". Can't wait to see it in the summer and fall.

    P. J.2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We used this cabin for a quick weekend winter getaway and it couldn’t have been better. We especially enjoyed exploring through the snowy trees on the trails beside the cabin. The outside of the cabin was beautiful in the snow and the fireplace inside was the perfect cozy way to watch the snow come down. It was also fun to watch the deer meander through the yard. Mel provides everything you need and makes check-in and communicating easy.

    Alyssa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin, beautiful in the winter. Check in was very easy and Mel was very quick to respond to any questions.

    Ezra2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Place is absolutely beautiful. This is the place to go for rest and relaxation.

    Yassiris2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax and unwind! Mel is very helpful with the directions, as Google Maps sends you to the wrong place. There is no WIFI or service, as the listing says, so be ready to become one with nature! Definitely recommend AWD for the winter, the road was coated in snow and ice leading up to the lodge. Thanks, White Pine Lodge for an awesome and relaxing trip!

Meadville is home to Allegheny College and to a unique road-sign display created by the college's art students. The signs depict aspects of this area. Hot air balloons represent the annual Thurston Classic. A Ferris wheel speaks of the large Crawford County Fair, and a replica of the Market House highlights one of the buildings of the historic downtown. Built in 1886, the Academy Theater is a venue for live theater and offers various productions throughout the year. Coffee shops, such as "Julian's" and a restaurant named the "Pennsylvania Sandwich Company," which boasts a celebrity chef, are also a part of our fair town. The Meadville area offers several places for hiking, biking, and fishing. Conneaut Lake, a resort town built on Conneaut Lake is less than a 30-minute drive and is a great spot for boating and water skiing. Linesville, another nearby town, offers the spillway where young and old alike can feed the fish--the very large, extremely abundant carp. A "bread house" nearby sells inexpensive bags of bread just for the fish. Those wishing to venture a bit further may enjoy visiting Titusville, the birthplace of the oil industry, and Pithole, the place oil was first discovered. Meadville and the surrounding area offer something for everyone.
  • What a wonderful place!! Very clean and lots of personal touches make you feel right at home.

    Dawn2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy’s place was extremely nice, she had a wide array of amenities from coffee and tea to a homemade pumpkin bread (that was delicious). I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable place outside of Meadville.

    Jake2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy is a wonderful host! She had fresh banana bread for me, lots of coffee and plenty of snacks. The space was spotless and comfortable.

    Lois2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the peaceful country setting and the privacy. The place was spotless, and the amenities were great.

  • I booked this rental for my husband who was traveling for a work meeting. After a 5+hour drive and a 2 hour meeting, he was very relieved to come home to such a cozy space. The first thing he told me was how clean it was. He enjoyed the homemade cookies that were left for him, the delicious filtered water and the comfortable bed. He even purchased a handmade dishcloth before leaving. :) Thank you so much for providing a great stay for my husband!

    Kristin2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little place to stay. Much bigger than a hotel room too! It was the perfect size for the three of us to stay in. We also found we over packed because so much was provided by the host.

    Daykota2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's little Airbnb is a great little place to stay. Cindy stepped out to meet us and make sure we had everything we needed. The parking area and sidewalk was thoughtfully cleared of snow, and a little cranberry loaf as waiting for us! The floor heating was a neat feature, and my wife appreciated the desk so she could get some work done. The location was close to Faithbuilders, where we were visiting family. Closer and cheaper than the hotels in Meadeville!

    Daniel2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is the 2nd time we've stayed, and it's just as good as the last time! We got a chocolate chip loaf this time, with LOTS of chocolate chips, YES! Cindy had changed the code since last time, which was a nice touch. It's good to know that the last guest can't use the same code to sneak back in! Thanks Cindy!

  • Staying at Lu’s is like going away to your favorite family members home far away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. Absolutely loved the stay there and the view of the river was fantastic. A very warm and welcoming cabin!

    Thomas2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lu's cabin is as authentic as they come! Warm, cozy, woodsy, and with the a river in the back yard! It's just gorgeous! I sheepishly shared with Lu that we were celebrating a monumental birthday for me at her place, and she surprised me with roses and triple-layer gourmet brownies! What a G.F.! 7 adults were very comfortable in the cabin. You'll want for nothing as the home because it is FULLY equipped! We made memories; thanks, Lu!

    Patricia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was one of the best cabins we have ever stayed in. We loved it!!!! So homey and comfy and beautiful. Lu and her family have it set up so nice. They have everything there that you can think of. We even played a few of their games that they had there . Our family enjoyed our time there! So if you are thinking about staying there you definitely will love it like we did. The welcome card and brownies were a nice touch. Lu answered any questions we had and went way above expectations. She is definitely a super host!!!!! Michael, Chris and Chelsea

    Mike2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time trying out an airbnb. WOW! We were so impressed. The minute we walked into the cabin it felt like we were walking into one of our own family members cabin. The cabin was so clean and decorated perfectly. The kitchen was fully stocked with all appliances and cooking ware that you would need. There were games and crafts available also. All of our guests with us commented on how nice the beds and bedding were. The bathroom provided any essentials you could possibly need. I feel like Lu set the standard high for our future airbnb stays - no wonder they have a Superhost rating. The outdoor temperature was around the 30's during our stay. The cabin heated up well. Some of us even had a small bonfire by the river while the rest of us stayed inside. The view of the river is fantastic. We really hope to be able to visit during the summer months. The exiting rules were pretty simple - clean up the kitchen, sweep, put trash in cans out front, clean up after pets if you brought any, place towels in laundry area. Nothing to hard or out of the ordinary. We knew going in that this was a pet friendly place. Although we did not bring our four legged companions, you wouldn't have even known that pets had been there. No smells and no pet hair. Lu was very kind to us - there were delicious brownies in the kitchen for us. She made sure we felt comfortable, checking in via airbnb communication, during our stay even offering us a little extra time if we needed at check out. She made sure to provide a few alternate phone numbers of people we could contact if we needed any assistance. We loved our weekend stay and really hope to visit again soon!

  • Great cabin with everything you could want on site, plus centrally located to be a home base for exploring the National Forest and State Parks of the Oil Region. It has a newer furnace that provided nice even heat throughout even on cold October nights. Lu was a great host and we'd definitely stay there again.

    Brian2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome authentic log cabin right on the Allegheny River. Lu, was an amazing host. Super communicative on all aspects. I didn’t know what a super host was, and now I do. Stay here, you’ll love it!

    Chris2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lu's home was fantastic for our weekend getaway! The cabin is situated on the Allegheny River, with beautiful mountain views, perfect for relaxing down by the firepit or kayaking for the adventurous type (the cabin had 4 kayaks and 2 canoes, plus various floats). The kitchen was stocked with all sorts of amenities. And the cabin had a wonderful "at home" feel to it. But what really made the difference to us was Lu and her family. They were some of the best people I have ever communicated with on AirBnB! Ryan (her son-in-law) was an awesome guy and brought us extra firewood twice during our stay! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic cabin weekend!!

    Ryan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a very relaxing retreat. My family enjoyed fishing, tubing, kayaking, the fire pit, and just watching time go by. The cabin is adorable and spacious. Lots of amenities and things you may have forgotten to bring. I would definitely stay again!

    Summer2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry & Bill could not have made our 2 night getaway any more relaxing. Despite mother nature’s weather pattern , we found antiquing in the area to be quite a treat! The memory foam mattress was very comfortable and worth a mention. Some Airbnb’s are not as conscientious about comfortable bedding... Beautiful setting for sure and the porch swing in the back nice! We’d love to come back! Tricia & Greg Pittsburgh

  • Very clean! Great hosts and good communication. Highly recommended!

    Dave2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the privacy and beauty of the woods surrounding the cabin. Sherry is a most gracious and kind host, going above and beyond, offering to check hours for where we wanted to go for dinner, and even to pick us up when our original plans were not to drive. She and Billy have created a very comfortable oasis, with all you might need to stay for days if you wished and cook your own meals, as the kitchen had everything. The memory foam mattress was very firm and gave a most comfortable night's sleep. The cabin is quite spacious and well appointed, lots of natural light, and all the furniture was comfortable as well. We will definitely stay here again on our return trip next year!

  • Stayed in bedroom 5 with private bath. We have stayed here twice ...once in the summer and over Christmas 2019. Located near my daughters house so great for us...sparkling clean, comfortable, enjoy kitchen, table, sitting room and the birds and bird feeders. Thank you for a great stay

  • Smith Mills is a true gem and Brian and Lynette are wonderful. We stayed a full week in the lovely old farmhouse, with a full kitchen so we could cook (and watch the birds and ground hog at the feeders). I am from Cochranton, but live in a city now, and it was nice to fall asleep to the sounds of crickets again. Smith Mills is tops in homey and relaxing comfort.

  • We were so glad we booked here versus a hotel! So much more private space and outdoor space for kids to explore. With a napping toddler, it was nice she could have her own space while bigger kids were able to play to. We will definitely be back in the future!

  • Shari was a great out-of-town host, contacting us before our stay to insure we had accurate directions and an easy check-in. This cabin was very accommodating for us and our adventures in the woods. We would recommend it to others and would book again ourselves.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Mary's place! The place had everything we needed and made our work trip very comfortable and relaxing. It was nice to get to meet the hosts and how they showed interest in why we were there. In fact, all of hosts with AirBB have been great to talk to about our work.. we are biologists and students with Ohio University doing research with the wildlife in Ohio and PA. We are very happy with AirBB on these long trips.. it give us the opportunity to visit new places, meet the locals, and help the wildlife! Thanks Mary!!!

We loved Hogback Lodge. It was clean, well supplied and in a fantastic location. The wooded seclusion was exactly what we needed for our getaway from the city. It was very comfortable for us as a couple but I imagine it would be an excellent spot for families as well. Plenty of beds and space indoors and out. Thanks again Carla & Craig! We hope to visit Hogback Lodge again.

Shady Pines Cottage is just off of Route 36 in Tionesta Township. The minute you make the turn from Route 36, you immediately enter an old country lane with stone and gravel. The lane is a beautiful cul-de-sac with trees of every kind, and only a dozen properties or so that are spaced far apart from one another. Shady Pines Cottage is one of only a few properties available year round. The cottage is quiet and private. Folks never bother you. Sometimes they wave hello from the lane but don't always see you because the porch sits so far back from the lane. Chances are you will enjoy the amazing front porch more than you realize. Deer, turkey, and a fox all come through the front of the property on a regular basis. There are numerous turkey early every morning. Enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the porch swing while watching squirrels and chipmunks run back and forth between the trees. There are incredibly beautiful birds of all species throughout the trees on the property, and the large pine trees surround you in the front, so the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks all come pretty close to the porch. There's nothing quite like watching the sun come up in the morning through our trees and beautiful flower gardens out front. Although the front of the property is very large and sits back a nice distance from the lane, the side and backyards are enormous. Behind the backyard are woods with a private pathway and walking trail. A very generous and well-proportioned 2 acres! Whenever family and friends come to visit, they enjoy the property so much that no one ever wants to leave to visit other places in the area. The property is truly beautiful year round in every season.
  • Perfect for family and friends also the perfect getaway from society. Beautiful place and relaxing environment.

It was sparkling clean and they provide everything you need including pots and pans , towels, bed linens, dishes, and silverware. This was my first time booking through Airbnb and this certainly set the bar high for any future bookings. Likely will return to this little slice of paradise.

  • This place is everything we hoped for and more. It truly feels like a home away from home. My girlfriend and I decided just a few days before Christmas to spend the holiday here. It was decorated to perfection, and Ted even left us a christmas card, wine, and some sweets. Perfect for me, as I love wine and sweets. The home comes with a fully equipped kitchen. I mean FULLY. It has EVERYTHING. We prepared christmas and christmas eve feasts, it was amazing. The homey touches and decorations really make this place. The board games, the books, the dvds. We took full advantage of all of these leisure activities. We wanted to get away and clear our heads and relax... and I can honestly say... I never had such a great time doing nothing!

The Bowman House at Big Oak Ridge is a three bedroom, 2 bath, fully furnished farmhouse in rural Venango County Pennsylvania, near the Victorian town of Franklin. Enjoy the peaceful country setting within minutes of bike trails, lakes, rivers, and parks. Because this is an old farmhouse, it does include narrow doorways and steep steps that are not handicap friendly
This two story farmhouse is just minutes from Franklin, Oil City, Titusville, and Meadville, yet enjoys a very rural setting. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen with new countertops and modern appliances. A large dining room, a cozy living room with electric fireplace, one bathroom and laundry area are on the first floor. Upstairs features two large rooms with with queen beds and one small bedroom with bunk beds. Bunk bed is a double on bottom and single on top. There is also a second floor bathroom. All linens are provided for your stay. A large deck with a gas grill provides an outdoor eating/sitting area off the dining room, and a sitting area with a fire ring provides additional outdoor space. Watch sheep, ducks, and chickens on the adjacent property and view the stars without light pollution.
Neighborhood is very rural, quiet, and safe. The main road is paved but the last mile to the house is dirt. The Bowman House is just 15 minutes (6 miles) from the town of Franklin, population about 8,000 residents. Franklin is situated on the confluence of French Creek and the Allegheny River, and is a stop on the Erie to Pittsburgh bike trail. Venango County is the birthplace of the Oil industry and is rich in history. Hiking, biking, kayaking opportunities abound. Hunting access is nearby on State Game Lands.
  • A very nice relaxing place, with all the amenities and supplies you could possibly need. It was great that they added an upstairs bathroom since the last time we stayed. Always tastefully decorated for the Christmas Holiday season.

  • This place REALLY felt like home with so many little touches from the multiple table cloths to choose from to the gravy boat, those little things we didn’t expect were so great! You will love it!!!

  • Great house with probably the most fully stocked kitchen I've seen in any AirBnB I've stayed at. Exactly as advertised, Kent and Paula are great hosts who have thought of everything.

    Jake2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kent and Paula were fantastic hosts! So very accommodating from the get-go. There was plenty of space in the homey house with beautiful, peaceful views. We did feel right at home at the Bowman House. It was a joy to wake up to the farm animals every day, too! We hope to stay again next year!

    Kristine2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kent and Paula were great hosts, very accommodating and quick to respond when we needed assistance. The house has a nice layout that worked well for our family. We loved relaxing outside on the swing and multiple porches. The stairs were a little hard for my two year old and my grandmother but it wouldn’t stop us from booking again when we go up to visit family. We absolutely loved seeing the turkeys, sheep and ducks! My daughter would have hung out with the sheep all day if she could! Thanks again for the great stay!

    Tracy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z

  • What a great place! This spacious 4 bedroom home was perfect for us when our large and scattered family had to return home for a funeral. And Jonie was super accommodating and sensitive to our needs. The house is large and comfortable. It has Victorian charm, but is not run-down. And the view out over the river is fabulous. The baseboard heating kept the place very comfortable despite outside temps in the 20s and 30s. We would absolutely stay here again.

    Philip2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed 704 Elm St - it was extraordinary in decor, spacious, and offers a great location aside the river and near town.

    Gretchen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful historic home. Sitting along the Allegheny in a quiet neighborhood. Beautiful home, Jonie responds very quickly. Can't be disappointed booking this home.

    Joe2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This large Victorian home on the Allegheny River is a wonderful location, and just a few blocks from downtown Franklin. We had a wedding weekend for @ 60 people. It worked out beautifully! The hosts are great people, very accommodating. If you want to experience a great time in Franklin PA on the river, I’d highly recommend this home.

    Ann2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • It’s wonderful to see this home in the AirBnB lineup for Franklin and Oil City. My wife and I grew up in the area. And this beautiful, roomy, clean Victorian home gives you a strong sense of what the good life was like in the Oil Region in its heyday. Gorgeous touches throughout including lovely huge pocket French doors. The bedrooms are so comfortable. The rivers and creeks are the heart of this area and being able to sit on the deck and stare at the Allegheny is great. Best of all: Jonie and Ryan provide hospitality second to none. My wife is Celiac and we were greeted with a 4-pack of her favorite gluten-free beer. When we return to visit relatives this will always be our first choice. A can’t miss stay.

    Barry2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home and location. Wonderful host.

    Ranjithmenon2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! So well stocked! Highly recommend it!

    Jenifer2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jonie and Ryan's place was great! The house is HUGE and had plenty of space for our party of 6. The dogs loved running around in the fenced in backyard. The house is very close to the bike trail (which was our reason for coming to Franklin) as well as the town with the restaurants and bars. The view of the river from the kitchen was awesome. We loved sitting there in the morning with our coffee and looking out onto the river. The house was full of old, antique knick-knacks that we loved looking at. It truly was a step back in time. We will definitely be back to visit again!

All you have to do is bring your own food or choose restaurants in nearby Pleasantville and Titusville. We have 600 private acres for hiking, biking and enjoying the bear, deer, turkey’s, bobcats, small wildlife, birds, trout and bass fishing at its finest. Hunting can be arranged in season. In nearby Tionesta, Eagles nest along the Allegheny River and soar over the Wilds. You will be close to Cooks Forest State Park with its virgin timber, Tionesta Dam for swimming and boating, tubing, kayaking and canoeing on the Allegheny River, Drakes Well in Titusville - the Birth Place of the Oil Industry, Cornplanter and Oil Creek State Parks, Kinzua Dam & Recreation Area and several huge State Game Lands. We are also adjacent to the Great Lakes Region. Within a 1 ½ hour trip you can be to Lake Erie, Presque Isle, Waldameer Amusement Park, Presque Isle Downs Casino and Racetrack, Wine Country Tours, ski resorts, and more.
Our area of our cabin is very quiet and private. Everyone enjoys their privacy. The Pavilion in the back is very enjoyable.
  • Cabin was very clean with all of the amenities you would need. Very nice porch.

    David2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • It is at a beautiful and peaceful location. We saw so many deer! Jill has so many amenities it’s like being at home! The wrap around porch is great. So many things to see. The pavilion is perfect. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire in the evening. It was so relaxing. I would love to go back again if my travels take me that way again. Highly recommend this place!

    Mary2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful. The bunk beds thrilled the kids and I loved the porch. There are a lot of charming touches (the fire pit and the rocking chairs) but the cabin is also very comfortable. Easily found in a nice, natural location. We had a great stay.

  • The Procrastination Station Cabin was a perfect getaway for a four generation family!! Unfortunately , the weather wasn't on our side, but we still enjoyed the spacious deck, pavilion and grill. We even managed to sit around the fire between rain drops!! The only thing we had to bring was food and toiletries!

    Jenn2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a diamond in the woods. The pics do not do it justice. felt very at home. one tip. screenshot directions before you get there. no wifi or 4g

    Sandy2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! We had a great time sitting outside by the fire each night, playin cornhole, grilling out. Place is as described. Very private, clean, and relaxing. Highly recommended

    Alex2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Procrastination station is a relaxing place to get away. We didn't get in until late our first night. Patty's directions were spot on and the home was easy to find. Patty had left a nice note with some info and had left some snacks out for us. Very thoughtful and much appreciated! The location was great! Just 8-10 miles from canoe outfitters on the scenic Allegheny river. Almost all of our time at the house was spent on the great wrap around deck. We really loved the glider chairs! We are already planning another trip to the river and this place is at the top of our list of places to stay at.

  • This cottage is so conveniently located a quick walk to Canadohta Lake (which you can see from the cottage). We loved how cozy it felt with lots of personal touches and art everywhere you look. It was perfect for our trip home to see family for Thanksgiving.

  • We enjoyed our stay at this little cottage. It was nice to explore the area from the comfort of such a fun, cute little home. The deck was a great place to enjoy the cool evenings, and the ceiling fans and good inside cross breeze made the inside comfortable- no need for a/c, even in early August. Fun place for a family stay.

Right in the middle of Spartansburg, stay in a cozy downstairs bedroom.
It is never boring here. Many Amish families live in the Spartansburg area. Horse buggies are not an uncommon sight. The town is very walkable with just about anything you need including a mom and pop grocery store across the street, post office, Amish-style restaurant, bar and kitchen, doctor, pharmacy, churches, pizza shop, and hardware store. The main trailhead for the East Branch Trail and fishing at Clear Lake are just down the street. And if you hear a very loud siren, that is just our way of alerting our local firemen to respond to an emergency call. Many motorcycles, Amish buggies, and log trucks travel through Spartansburg making for a diverse traffic mix. To get a closer look at the town via social media, go to the, "You Might Be From Spartansburg" page. It's never boring.

  • This is a very quiet and relaxing place. It is very original and you will enjoy all the hard work that Bob and his team put into this place. Bob is full of area knowledge and helpful with things to do. He is there if you need him but also respects your privacy. We will definitely be coming back. If your looking for a nice quiet place to get away and learn about the area this is the place to stay.

  • Hotel Clarence is a great option for accommodation in Titusville. We have family in the area and have struggled to find a comfortable place to stay. Hotel Clarence is setup to be a wonderful entertaining space with plenty of outdoor room. The deck overlooks a picturesque pond and includes a grill. We didn't use the downstairs space much this stay, but appreciated the clean and comfortable upstairs area with a king bed and large bathroom. One thing to note is that there isn't a kitchen - there is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker (in addition to the grill). Bob and Schelly are kind hosts and checked on us a few times.

  • Beautiful old farm house, enough rooms for a sizable family gathering, a nice kitchen in the common area. Country setting. Quiet, automated, not much interaction with hosts (none needed either).

  • The room was clean and comfortable, and the shared space was full of cute touches that made the place cozy. The extra touches here were so appreciated, from the Keurig in the shared common area, to the towel specifically for makeup removal in our private bathroom. Wonderful place to stay!

  • Beautifully decorated and furnished. Brian and Lynette's home was warm and inviting. The common space was roomy, bright and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed being able to walk the quiet country roads/hills and watching the birds out front. A great place for a short stay and very clean as well.

History of The Wheeler-Farley House: Be swept back in time to when "Timber was King" when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House. Purchased in 1929 by our great-grandparents, Joseph Allen and Rachel Wheeler Farley, The Wheeler-Farley House is located on land that was once owned by our great-great grandfather, Nelson Platt Wheeler. His company, Wheeler & Dusenbury, was a major player in the timber industry during the 1800s through the early 1900s. At one time, Wheeler & Dusenbury owned 55,000 acres in this area of Pennsylvania now known as The Pennsylvania Wilds. Just about all of the land was sold or donated and is now incorporated into The Allegheny National Forest. As fate would have it, The Wheeler-Farley House came up for sale in the spring of 2006 after being out of the family since 1978. We are so excited to have it back and hope that you will enjoy the land our ancestors loved, as we do, when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House. While there, look at pictures of days gone by, read about the logging camps of the area and the adventures on The Allegheny River, rafting the logs downstream. Visit an Old Growth Forest at Hearts Content, once a Wheeler & Dusenbury logging camp and now part of The Allegheny National Forest. Referring to The Wheeler-Farley House, the son of the former owner said, Your ancestors sure knew what they were doing, they picked the prettiest place on The Allegheny River. We whole-heatedly agree with him and now want to share this beautiful land with you.
  • This place is beautiful

  • Our family highly recommend’s The Wheeler-Farley House! It is large and roomy, great for a big group or family. It is exceptionally clean. There were ample towels and bedding. The WiFi was an awesome perk! The televisions with cable worked seamlessly. Our group enjoyed sitting on the porches watching the river. The riverbank and large flat rocks are a wonderful place to hang out for the day. The fire pit and grill are perfect for winding down your evening. Bring some yard games and enjoy the spacious area for some fun competition. If your group is looking for some rest and relaxation....this is the place!

  • This beautiful river house was perfect for our family reunion weekend with 8 adults and 8 kids. There was plenty of space; a great downstairs area that was the "kids' bedroom" and a ping pong table; a creek that was perfect the little kids to play in; and a rock that was great for fishing and river-watching. We had some torrential downpours when we were there and there was some damage to the dirt road. Frank was incredibly responsive, replying to our 11pm text in 10 minutes; his caretaker was there the next day with a backhoe to fix it. Highly recommend!

  • The Wheeler Farley House is perfect for a fishing trip with the family or a reunion with friends. The house is beautiful, and so is the surrounding woods and river. We loved every part of our stay. We played golf, went canoeing, and played bocce in the yard while having a fire and cooking out.
