Beach walk, swim, kayak, wind-surf, kite board, body surf, snorkel, hike, walk/jog the Lanikai loop (4 miles around door-to-door) - there is an abundance of fun activities here...or, completely relax and chill out - it's very easy in this quiet & secluded bungalow. • Cheri and Scott's bungalow was everything the listing promised and more! This was the perfect home base for two travelers, we love Kailua and this location steps from the beach is ideal. The bungalow had everything we needed from a comfy bed to the cozy garden room and the outdoor garden lounge space (so many beautiful plants and flowers along with happy little geckos) It has a well-appointed and spacious kitchen and everything we needed for great days at the beach like beach chairs, big towels and a cooler. They thoughtfully provide things like plush bath towels, lots of hangers, Hawaiian soap and shampoo, access to a washer and dryer...things that make the bungalow a very welcoming home away from home in paradise. Cheri and Scott were just a text away (or upstairs) if we had any questions and were very helpful. They waited up late for our arrival on the first night, greeted us warmly, and helped us get settled quickly so we could get some rest and be ready for our first day of adventures on Oahu. Communication with them throughout our reservation process and the trip was fantastic. We'd love to come back again!

  • We had an amazing time at the Secluded Beach Bungalow. We fell in love with the Bungalow the minute we arrived. It was exactly as shown in the pictures. Cheri and Scott put a lot of work into the details and making sure that we had all we needed for our 2 weeks stay. The garden is simply beautiful and very private. The hosts were excellent and easy to contact. We were actually traveling during the hurricane and Cheri was there to answer all the questions right away and made all the worries go away! No doubt, Kailua Beach is the best location to stay in Oahu. It was so convenient to have this gorgeous beach right outside of the garden. We are sure that you will not be disappointed and you will miss this place the minute you leave. Mahalo:)!

  • This is an awesome place! Cheri and Scott were phenomenal hosts. Cheri was a great communicator and efficiently sorted out a booking issue with airbnb that was beyond her control. On arrival, she gave us a full orientation, loads of info about the locale, and great tips - we ate at the Kalapawai Cafe on her recommendation and it was superb! The accommodation was private, well appointed, comfortable, and spotless. We wouldn't hesitate in staying here again. The location's ideal - the back gate of the property leads directly to the beach. We really enjoyed Kailua after spending some time on the North Shore. Lots of walking, snorkellin, and chilling! Thanks Guys! Chris and Katy

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Cheri and Scott's beach bungalow. Although we did not spend much time at the bungalow during the day, it had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped for quick and easy meals (the solo cook top was awesome!). Beach towels, chairs and a cooler were all provided, and a shared washing machine was a real bonus! We had several friends drop us off during our stay and each person commented on how beautiful the landscaping looked. The beach is just outside their backyard gate and across a small parking lot. We definitely recommend staying at Cheri and Scott's beach bungalow.

  • Cheri greeted us when we arrived, gave us a tour to the most beautiful grounds in Kailua. Everything was so tastefully done, and we could not think of anything that was lacking. The beach was so wonderful, we didn't want to leave. Thank you for sharing your home with us! Sherry and Dan

  • This was the best vacation that I've ever had, and this beautiful bungalow was the reason why. I don't even know where to begin-- the absolutely jaw dropping property, the beachfront location, the perfect town of Kailua, or the wonderful and thoughtful hosts. Cheri and Scott have created an unbelievable oasis that sits literally 40 steps from one of the most gorgeous beaches (with the softest sand and clearest water). It was private and quiet, yet Cheri and Scott were warm and inviting. Everything from the cozy linens to the delicious coffee, and the fresh picked fruit to the fully stocked kitchen was crafted for your comfort. It was amazing, almost every time I thought I might need something, I found that Cheri had already anticipated it and it was neatly packed away into the apartment. If it's your first time to Oahu, or you've never been to Kailua, don't pass up the opportunity to stay here. If you want to spend your vacation surrounded by tourists then you should head back to Honolulu, but if you want to be surrounded by friendly locals, and experience the authentic Hawaii, Kailua is the best spot to do so. From the bungalow you are in walking distance to some really delicious restaurants, markets, coffee shops, dessert spots-- and not to mention a handful of jaw dropping beaches and hikes. I've traveled using Airbnb for the past 2 years and I've never been this impressed by a rental. I can honestly say it was perfect. So perfect that my boyfriend and I literally cannot wait to come back and stay in the bungalow. You'll love your stay, you'll love the bungalow, and you'll love Kailua. Thank you so much Cheri and Scott for creating this beautiful experience and for sharing it with others. We savored every second, and wish we were back on the island drinking King's coffee on the beach at sunrise.

  • I would describe this stay as the perfect stay. We really enjoyd the secluded part and the closness to the perfect beach. Cheri is the perfect hostess and she made us feel so welcome!

    Susanne2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with everything you could possibly need plus so much more! Loved all the extra touches. Very useful to have beach towels/chairs etc which we used everyday. Massive thanks to Cheri and Scott for all their help when our car battery had died. Lovely, comfortable place to stay and hope to be back one day!

  • Hands down my favourite Airbnb experience! Amazing people, felt like family from the very start. I can’t thank them enough for being so lovely towards me and letting me stay in their home

  • Great value and close to beach

    klas2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible proximity to a great beach from this home! It really felt like being a member of the family at this place, which is great for some, and was exactly what I wanted.

  • Nohealani is a great hostess and she made is feel very welcome. She recommended some good hiking spots and let us try some of her local food (thank you!!). Her daughter is a sweetheart and her friends were really nice too! Her home was just what we were looking for, it was in a BEAUTIFUL part of the Island away from the tourists. Every day we took advantage of that really nice beach SO close to our room. We felt safe being there, her home was clean and our bed was comfortable. The only negative part, for us, was limited wifi and because I was travelling with my 12 year old son and not going out at night - we kinda wished we had strong wifi (like we were used to at home...) to look up things to do on the Island (me) and play video games (not me). Thank you Nohealani for looking after us!!

  • We loved staying in their private studio! It's was Perfect for my boyfriend and I. Found that it was the perfect location to travel on all sides of the island!

  • Very nice studio in quiet community. Beach chairs, boogie boards, and snorkeling equipment were available for free use. Modern kitchen area and bathroom. Electric stove burner and ample kitchen cookware made cooking convenient. There were two fans furnished we used to stay cool at night, we kept the doors closed to the studio at night but leaving them open would have kept us even cooler. We were initially worried about not having air conditioning but even in July heat it stayed sufficiently cool in the evening and early morning.

  • My wife and I had a wonderful time at Ooli and Rina's private studio. We loved the consistant trade winds that blew thru and around the unit and property. We felt very welcomed and cared for yet felt respected with regard to time and space. The location is superb and close to top rated beaches and snorkeling. Peaceful and quiet residential area at top of valley yet close to all amenities. Very much enjoyed the cookout and wow the food was delicious.......somebody knows how to cook....yum. Our wonderful hosts were a wealth of information, really enjoyed talking with them. Highly recommend their space to anyone looking for reasonable rates with superb location in very safe area to explore all that Hawaii has to offer. What a wonderful space, On a wonderful island, with wonderful hosts. Thank you so very much. Mahalo and Aloha!!!

    Dayana2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. Rina and Uli were great hosts with lots of knowledge about the island. The location is great, 10 minutes from beautiful beaches and hikes. This would be a place to stay if you want to see the real Hawaii, not the nightlife of Waikiki (although it's only a 30 minute drive to Waikiki). They even let us borrow their snorkeling gear, which saved us a few dollars. Definitely a great place to stay if you want to do Hawaii!

    Kevin2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet neighborhood with easy access by car to many beautiful beaches and attractions. Good restaurants nearby. Clean and comfy.

    Ann2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rina's place is a clean, comfortable, quiet studio near Oahu's Windward (Eastern) shore. The bed is very comfortable, and the A/C kept the place very cool. After a long day of exploring, hiking or beach-going, nothing beats a good night's sleep. And at Rina's place, you get just that!

    Rick2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rina was amazing, she was a quiet and polite lady, very sweet and welcoming. The place was amazing, it was super clean and lots of space and extremely quiet which is nice. We weren't there during much of the day because we were out touring the island, but when getting back it was nice to sit down and relax. The neighborhood was out away from all the noise, but close enough to go get a bite to eat or a drink. The shower was very modern and there was a TV with Netflix. I would recommend this place if you are trying to get away from all the business of downtown. There was a park about a half mile down the street, and food is about 2-3 mile drive. Awesome place and I would stay here again.

    Patrick2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was nice and if we find our way back to Oahu I will definitely stay again.

Airbnb awarded me Superhost! 5 Stars in Every category. As a Native Hawaiian, I share Cultural & Money Saving tips, provide Delicious Breakfast & Help in every way possible to ensure your trip is Wonderful! Beautiful safe quiet & affluent neighborhood in Honolulu. 5 min from popular gorgeous snorkeling Hanauma beach by car (1st Pic) Relax walk to great restaurants at Koko Marina Shopping Center. 20 min drive to Waikiki. Bus stop in front of our home. Free Easy parking in front of our home.
Beautifully decorated private “Surfer Room" with Comfy Queen Bed and Private Bathroom -tub/shower. * * (Queen Bed has been written about in many reviews and on social media as being the Best Bed Ever at an Airbnb by many guests) I also provide luxurious 100% Cotton Linens on the bed from New Zealand. I bought these gorgeous linens during my own Airbnb trip after sleeping in them * * Our property has an outside garden courtyard where one can view the rising sun over Koko Crater & enjoy the night stars with wine. It's a big private space outside surrounded by our Hawaiian Hibiscus hedges, aroma of pink plumeria Hawaiian flowers and solid wall away from neighbors view that our guests & friends love to relax on w/ our outdoor lanai table & chairs. (Basket outside has Beer opener, wine opener and wine glasses) The company of our friendly dogs Sweetie and Nuggets who enjoy the outdoor space as well, is an added bonus for you to enjoy, though they prefer water and a few dog biscuits. * * We like to keep a clean house so we like those who clean up after themselves too by bringing in their breakfast dishes. However, there is no need to wash your breakfast dishes as I am the dishwasher here. ;) * * Some nights you will find our family watching a movie, please feel free to join us in the living room to watch and eat popcorn, or perhaps just to sit in the incredible full body leather massage chair we have. Quite a few guests have enjoyed it especially after a hike. Some have even fallen asleep in it. ;) **IMPORTANT - When you stay with us, you are staying in our family home.
It's very quiet....safe...and the flowers frangrance blows into the bedrooms lightly with the trade winds. It's the most desired place to live in Honolulu however, it's kept as a small boat community as most homes sit on water throughout the entire area. Also, Hawaii Kai is home to the largest population of College Educated homeowners in Hawaii. * * Bruno Mars (Pop Star) has his own home in our neighborhood too. * * There is the beautiful famous Hanauma Bay State Beach Park for relaxing, snorkeling to see fish & turtles and the occasional octopus. This beautifully designed State Park is CLOSED every Tuesday to give the Hawaiian coral a chance to grow. Tuesday would be a great day to check out other beaches nearby like Makapu'u and Sherwood. (be sure to check out my Airbnb guidebook for helpful important information) * * We have several places to hike around Hawaii Kai and nearby neighborhoods. There are 3 Water Sport companies that offer Stand Up Paddling in our town along with jet skiing, banana boats, tubing, SCUBA SCOOTER and scuba diving. Its all within walking distance to get there. Ask me how to save money on these activities. * * Its a great place to take a safe leisurely walk day/night feeling the breeze, smelling the flowers and listening to the birds. There are many nearby places to eat at, shops to purchase Hawaiian products or just to sit and enjoy a breathtaking Sunset. (ask me about our Secret Spot for locals) My family just loves to go there to take photos and enjoy the picturesque Sunset with waves.
  • Staying with Momi and her family was one of the highlights of our trip to Oahu. Momi is such a unique and outgoing person, it is impossible to not be in a great mood around her. She is the kind of person who can make friends with anyone. Her breakfast every morning was outstanding! She is very passionate about Airbnb, cooking, family, pets, and Hawaii! I enjoyed playing with her 2 dogs too, especially since I don't have any pets at home. Her home is situated in a very quiet and convenient neighborhood. Everything is very clean! Momi is very thorough in cleaning so I am confident her home is cleaner than any hotel. Momi also provided us with great recommendations and let us use beach towels and snorkel gear. Her husband and daughter are also very nice, hospitable, and talented people! Our stay was very memorable!

    Genya2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Momi is a new host on Airbnb and I had the exciting pleasure of staying with her in late July. Momi is a busy mom, tour guide, host and business woman with a big heart, lovely place and amazing family. Though I normally keep reviews simple, being an early reviewer and frequent airbnber I felt it imperative I give a thorough review. Aside from the place and host profile reviews make up my decision to stay at a place. Momi's place was described exactly as listed. Very clean, neat, the bathroom was incredibly comfortable. The bed was nice and If you're staying during the summer remember that there is no AC (pretty much like this in alot of places in Hawai'i I noticed) and Momi is strict about keeping the fan off (again something you'll see alot of in budget places in Hawai'i). As a Texan the weather wasn't a big deal, especially since we were doing a lot of camping. And especially since Momi was making some of the best Mango Margaritas from her huge mango tree to keep us cool! Plus she is really close to some great places and amazing beaches. And there are several bus lines near her place, though she is happy to drop you off nearby other places near Hawaii Kai, just ask. As far as Momi as a host goes, she is very caring, giving and hospitable but she is also really really energetic which wasn't a great fit for my boyfriend. Though I personally can relate to Momi as a super caring extrovert be aware if you are introverts, either clearly state you like time to yourself to the very receptive Momi or consider a different host. Momi has a true servants heart, preparing breakfast, taking us shopping, dropping us off/picking us up, regularly checking in on us with texts. None of these are things we expected much of! Some travelers will love this attention! We also felt she should take care of herself & family first and foremost as most frequent airbnbers like myself don't always need the extra attention and usually have our own way of getting around and handling travel mishaps. When I told her our car reservation didn't go through she was right on helping us, but it became an overly emotional situation for two seasoned travelers who didn't realize she was making HUGE leaps and bounds to take care of us. Some folks will really love this, but Miguel and I felt bad when we realized all she was doing. If you enjoy very involved, energetic, knowledgeable host you will really enjoy Momi, especially if you're an extrovert, storyteller and traveler like me! I wish I could have sat down with Momi some more and swapped more stories. Best of luck Momi, I know you'll have more awesome guest in the future!

    Rayah2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Momi and her husband are great! She was super responsive and communicative before we got there and super friendly greeting our tired souls with Hawaiian spirit. She had clean beach towels ready for us to get into the water asap. Staying there was like visiting a friend. We were glad to bring a bottle of wine back , sitting out in the front patio with them for a night cap and conversations about surfing :). The next morning, she made us coffee and breakfast included mangos from her tree! YUM! Location: It's close to the famous blowhole in oahu, quite neighborhood, not touristy at all. It's quite and a great way to start our vacation away from the hectic crowds of wakiki. Beaches were really close and for the locals. The room and bed was comfortable for 2 people, I wouldn't have more than that or it would be too crowded. Bathroom (not en suite) was clean and had towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Because I'm a dog person, I love the 2 dogs, they love the attention. We only stayed 1 night and will come back now that this is an option. This was a great way to not feel like a tourist, be somewhere that feels like part of the culture/family, get a good night's sleep and enjoy another part of the island.

    Amy2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our host, Momi, made our first visit to Hawai'i a most pleasant experience. She communicated very well with us weeks before the trip to make sure we were well informed and prepared. When we arrived, she welcomed us with open arms and a light breakfast. She explained her house rules and made us feel at home in her cozy guest room and private bathroom. Every day, Momi made sure we were getting the most out of our trip. She provided delicious breakfasts with a great view of Koko Head. Her two dogs were adorable and kept us company on the patio. Some mornings we sat and talked about our best options to our destinations and local tips on how to navigate the tourist spots. (We truly felt like VIP's) She also helped us by calling local venues and shops and got us great deals on our tickets and even let us use her local discount at some places. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience where we felt at home away from home.

    Cirzy2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was very good. Momi was an EXTREMELY hospitable host. She always took the opportunity to critique our trip plans and provide her own valued input. The house was very clean and comfortable to stay in. Momi was willing to drive us around the area just for simply being one of her guests. At the start I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the stay. Upon arriving at the door there was a miscommunication between Momi and myself that resulted in me opening the door prematurely and getting greeted by two overly excited dogs. However, after Momi acclimated the dogs to our presence, everything was fine. Momi is an excellent host, but sometimes I felt overwhelmed with criticism and instructions. The only reason I mention this is because I came to Hawaii and Momi’s to unwind. For example, Momi is very knowledgeable about the best way to visit Hawaii/Oahu; I am not. Sometimes, Momi had suggestions for prior decisions I could not change, so it was slightly irritating when my travelling mistakes were brought back to my attention on numerous occasions. I will not focus anymore of this review on the smidgens of negative experiences. Momi’s house is a high energy, loving place, guaranteed to create travelling memories that will last a lifetime. Momi provided us with dinner (for a little $), breakfast (for FREE), laundry service, transportation, fully equipped bathroom, an abundance of mangos, a comfortable bed, and lots of valued advice. If you are booked with Momi and in the process of planning you trip, CALL/TEXT HER. I absolutely guarantee you she has some valuable recommendations she is dying to share with you – and if you don’t call her, you will probably regret it :P Thanks for the WONDERFUL stay Momi, Mark, and Kamakaeva

  • We had a most interesting and illuminating experience staying with Momi and her family. Her knowledge of Oahu and Hawaiian customs is amazing and we left with a far greater understanding of the beautiful island. Breakfasts on the patio were delicious and the highlight of our stay was enjoying Momi's fabulous island tour, where she took us to some off-the-beaten-track places which we would not have experienced otherwise. A special place to stay!

    Graham2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • I booked momi's place 9 months prior to checking in choosing momi's place was the best decision as we got to know the real hawaii through the eyes of an indigenous person and thats momi. We booked momi's around the island tour and it was by far more than what we expected. We learnt so much about Oahu through the soul and eyes of a local. The moment you enter momi's home I knew I was going to have an amazing trip because I saw this through the love she has for her husband, daughter and her pets, our glasses was never empty staying with momi it was filled with love and laughter. Momi is so passionate in what she does, breakfast is the bomb! heheh momi's margaritas is delicious, her mana is pure for the love of hosting people from all walks to life. Momi is so knowledgeable she has the best tips is getting around traffic, cheap places to shop, eat and touring around the island. The whole trip was memorable but the one that stood out for me is hiking up koko crater which is 2 minutes from Momis place and visiting the grave site of the Hawaii people that was an emotional day for me and healing one all at the same time. As a first airbnb user I can guarantee you this will not be my last. I can't wait to explore the world through the souls and eyes of all airbnb host all over the world. Momi thank you thank you thank you. Mahalo sistah

  • Momi's place is beautiful, we had a great time from the check in, where we were welcomed by the whole family (incl all 4legged familymembers), to the tour, where Momi shared so many interesting insights with us and showed us amazing places and of course not to forget the amazing breakfast... Momi is definitely a superhost and will go above and beyond to accomodate her guests. She is very passionate and fun, you will have a great time there :) Thank you so much Momi&family for having us and for everything you did to help us... All the best from Switzerland, hope to see you soon C&B

Our neighborhood is very quiet and friendly - you can hear the waves break on the beach. There are some restaurants and small stores which you can walk to or bike (we have beach bikes)
  • Its a good efficacy in a building with two other residences attached. Love all the equipment they offer, and Art is just the right amount of friendly. There aren't many rentals in the area, but the beach is worth it, so anything close is a good deal.

  • Jaime’s beach house is literally a 1 min walk from the beach. Waimanalo beach is very secluded, great for star gazing! There are several other more public beaches just a short drive away. The beach unit had everything we needed and more. A bit of a drive from Waikiki and downtown Honolulu, but we were looking for a nice secluded place that was quiet and close to beaches and lots of hiking. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for lazy beach days and jungle hiking! -Govinda

  • We had a wonderful time! Waimanalo is a great location, close to many activities in Kailua (by car) and very quiet. We had everything we needed at Jamie's place, very clean, private and comfortable. Being so close to such a nice beach, having the private patio and the BBQ made it possible to enjoy at max our stay and that part of the island. Highly recommended, could not have chosen a better place.

  • Very beautiful and tropical a home away from home. All the convenience of living near the beach, eateries and still have the peace and quiet to relax. I would return to this place.

  • This small beach cottage was pristine, quiet & secluded, away from all of the other tourists. If you want to know what it's like to live in Hawaii, this cottage is perfect. The neighborhood is picturesque & every home is unique. Jaime had bikes for us to ride around on, that's a ride you will never forget. The cottage has a kitchenette with everything you need including delicious Hawaiian coffee. We used the stove top cooker to make eggs for breakfast and it worked perfectly. The laundry machines were located just outside in their beautiful backyard. The smell of white hibiscus flowers delicately flows with the breeze from the huge tree outside of the yard. We opted not to rent the AC unit and slept with the fan and windows open, it worked perfectly for us. There's a good cross breeze in the bedroom, with double-windows on three of the walls. The locals are sweet people who say good morning & smile when they pass you. This is the third house from the beach. This beach is never crowded & with a mountain as a backdrop, it's breathtaking. We enjoyed a romantic stay at this beach cottage. Highly recommend for anyone traveling solo or especially for couples.

  • We arrived late and Vic made a point of greeting us and picking up some english muffins and jam so we would have something to eat. He gave us great pointers on where to explore!

    Zach2015-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect crash pad for this solo adventurer! This *spotless* one-room studio has been stocked with just the right stuff, from beach chairs to bottle opener. I absolutely loved the residential feel of the area, with a few lovely restaurants nearby (as well as a market with all the basics). The short drive to Kailua and its beaches is also a plus. That said: I went to Lanakai one day, and to a beach on the North Shore another day, but ended up spending most of my time on what felt like my own private beach ... right down at the end of the block. A 4-minute walk (if that). It looks EXACTLY like the photos featured on this listing. One thing to note: this isn't a super private place. It's more like a large room—with a private entrance—in a larger home. (For example, when you're in the bathroom, anyone in the hall is basically right on top of you.) I was kept up a few nights by the family staying next door—but it wasn't anything that bothered me. Bottom line: for a place to rest your weary head after a day of fun in the sun, Vic/Laura's place (and the price) CANNOT be beat. I'd absolutely return!!!

    Kristina2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience at Driftwood Hideaway. The studio had everything we needed, including kitchenette, beach towels, wifi, and a great little AC. The owner was kind enough to let us in late and directed us to a grocery store so we could grab food after a long flight. All in all, it couldn't have been a better spot. And only a few blocks to the beach!

    Alexis2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great! The room is kind of small but very clean. Check in was easy and location was really great because it was so close to the beach. Vic was very informative and gave you information of places to see and eat. The only thing was that we didn't really like about the place was that there was a very thin wall between you and the tenant right next to your wall. You can hear them sneeze or hear their phone ringing.

  • My daughter and I had an amazing time in this cozy rental. It had everything we could possibly need. The best part is that it is so close to the most beautiful beach in the world! Karla was a wonderful host, and she gave us great recommendations on places to eat and visit! We would love to stay here again!!!

  • My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Driftwood Studio very much. It is small, but the interior is perfectly designed to put every square inch to its best possible use. Because of this we did not feel cramped. It has air conditioning that worked quite well, but in November when we stayed there, the evenings cooled off and there was a very nice breeze to cool the apartment. The apartment was a good base to explore the rest of Oahu. We highly recommend Driftwood Studio. It's a good value with a great beach just 3 blocks away.

    C.R.2013-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the driftwood hideaway. It was our first Air BnB experience and directly after our wedding. We neede a low key, simple spot. Vik was friendly and hospitable. It was clean and comfortable. The beach was footsteps away. Chairs and towels were provided. All in all a lovely spot. We made breakfast in the morning, also.

Nalo Cottage is a private, secluded one bedroom garden cottage, half a block from one of the best beaches in Hawaii. We are located in a quiet, family neighborhood still evocative of old Hawaii. The comfortable, spacious cottage is detached from the main house. It has 10 foot high ceilings, 760 square feet of living space, and an exclusive outdoor patio. The cottage is equipped with wifi, basic cable, coffee, tea, linens, bath towels, beach towels and chairs, boogie boards and beach gear.
The cottage is furnished with vintage Koa wood furniture and Hawaiian memorabilia. Other furnishings are new, including a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. There is a new air conditioner in the bedroom. For guests with small children, we provide a Graco pack n' play, high chair and beach toys.
We are within walking distance of several excellent local cafes, including Ai Love 'Nalo (vegan), Ono Steaks and Shrimp Shack (Hawaiian food, great fish), Hawaiian Island Cafe (breakfast and lunch), and Waimanalo Poke Shop. We are a 15 minute drive from Kailua, which has many restaurants, including the iconic Buzz's.
  • We had an excellent stay at Terri&Hal's place and would definitely recommend it. The place is spacious, light and well ventilated. It is equipped with everything one needs for a great beach vacation, including the beach gear and even some beach toys and travel bed for our toddler. The location is perfect, only 3 min walk to the beach and a short beautiful drive to several great hiking trails/beaches. It takes 30 min by car to Honolulu, and 15 min by car to Kailua (where we did our grocery shopping).

  • I would like to thank Teri for a great and quick communication, always responding almost instantly. The arrival of the stay was easy, uncle Peter was on the spot, he gave us lots of great advice and tips on restaurants and places of interest. We thank him once again! I certainly recommend this lovely place!

  • We we're pleasantly surprised with how stunning the cottage was. It was cozy, super clean, and perfect for a small family. The cottage is located literally mins away from one of most amazing beach in Oahu. We brought our 2 young boys and they couldn't wait to go to the beach everyday. So what made our trip was the numerous beach amenities they provided. (Wagon, beach towels, boogie, board, sand toys, beach umbrella, etc.) It made traveling so convenient that we just kept everything in the trunk the entire trip. We loved it! If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this gem is definitely the place to stay.

    Lisa2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay; the house is nice, clean and close to a beautiful beach. Terri was wonderful and made every possible accommodation to make it comfortable for us and our 10 month old baby. We really had everything needed to care for a little one. Terri really went the extra mile to ensure we had the best experience possible. We would highly recommend!

    Larry2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cottage! The photos are exact. Owners are prompt with communication and very hospitable. Peter is an excellent host! The location is perfect! Just a quick walk down the street to the beach, so no need to worry about parking! We look forward to visiting again! Chris and Ed

    Christina2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were blown away by the location of Terri & Hal's home. One side you have a beautiful mountain and the other, a beautiful beach just steps away. Uncle Peter, who was at the main home at the time, greeted us right away and was super sweet and knowledgeable about the location. Nothing from the home was too far of a drive. Honolulu was about 40min drive (which is a normal drive time for us). The cottage was huge for the two of us, but still cheaper and much nicer than most hotels. We loved the extra space! They had anything and everything you could need or use, so much so we didn't even use half of it! All the beach equipment and wagon to pull it all in was PERFECT! I never thought I would go to the beach so much but the convenience was hard to pass up for any other activities. One of the most annoying things in Hawaii is parking and lugging all your stuff with you, going in the car wet to head back to where your staying, etc. But at this cottage, you don't have top worry about ANY of that. You just change real quick in the cottage, pack stuff in the wagon and take a quick walk to a pretty secluded beach. I was a bit scared of the ocean before, but after this trip, I never wanted to leave. Also, the air-conditioner in the bedroom was heaven (I like to sleep in a cooler room so it was perfect)! Thanks again Terri, Hal, and uncle Peter!

  • Fantastic Cottage and all you need - better than your own home. Peter made us cockies and gave us tips for restaurent. Terri and Hal are so kind, interested and caring People. 5 minuts walk to the local gorgeous beach and a lot of beach equipment, the kids loved it. This place and beach is even better than on the pictures. We Will love to come back.

  • Terri and Hal's place is situated just a short walk to the most beautiful beach you could image! Everything you need for a relaxing and/or fun-filled time at the beach is available for you to use. We loved the cottage! It was sparkling clean and well equipped with everything that you need and more! We loved the personal touches - welcome bottle of wine and Hawaiin snacks! The hosts are very knowledgeable and responsive to all requests!

  • This is a comfortable, private little retreat a stone throw from the beach -- perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet beach retreat in Oahu, especially as the owners offer loans of snorkel gear boogie boards etc etc. the place has a lovely balcony, and we enjoyed their sweet (and quiet) dogs who occasionally dropped by. We booked in Waimanalo as we were going to a wedding there -- there is not much in the town itself that is walkable. We loved the shrimp and steak house and enjoyed breakfast at a local cafe, but would recommend having a car as then it is a short drive to Haunama Bay. Highly recommend for a relaxing, laid back getaway

  • My husband and I LOVED Tamy's place. Very clean, quiet, convenient, private and comfortable. The outdoor area felt perfectly private and was nicely landscaped, too. Tamy was very easy to communicate with. The location is perfect and we felt very safe in that neighborhood. It was so great to have things like a mini fridge and access to things like a microwave, washer/dryer. The room was plenty spacious and there was plenty of storage space, too. The AC unit and fan also made for a very comfortable stay.

    Jennifer2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is cosy and owners are nice and responsive. The room has its own entrance from the street and parking gates. Beautiful beach just in several footsteps. It would be nice to return there someday.

    Airen2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This room is everything described and more! Tamy and Rick have everything covered that you might need from the moment you walk in. The Beach chairs are ready to go sit and watch the sunrise, the Coffee station had dark roast (My favorite), There was tea and honey when my husband got a cold, and some after sun lotion when I forgot to put on my sunscreen. Anything we could think of was covered. The short walk across the street to dip our toes in the ocean led us to a very unpopulated beach. This is an amazing place! Other guests have mentioned that a car is definitely useful here, and we would agree although with the beach nearby and a few places to eat within walking distance, If you don't have a rental car, you can still happily stay here.

    Virginia2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted a place near a nice beach on the windward side, just a room since I was staying by myself. This was perfect. It is 0.5 blocks from Waimanalo beach which is long and beautiful with scenic mountains all around. The room Tamy provided is air-conditioned and has a mini-fridge and TV. The private porch was really nice in the evenings. She also provides beach chairs, towels, and kayaks. I walked to the nearby fish restaurant for many of my meals. I also had an inexpensive rental car and so was able to hike the trails at Kahana Bay and drive into Waikiki for a charter sail. The wind at the beach was strong: fine for jumping in the surf but too strong for kayaking (I'm a senior citizen). It's a beautiful beach for walking however. Tamy is a great hostess and her dogs are friendly. I highly recommend this site.

This newly built studio cottage feels open and cozy at the same time. Giant screen (70") with AppleTV. On demand hot water for huge shower with bench. Split system AC to keep cool. A short 2 minute walk to a beautiful uncrowded beach with easy swimming. Not shown is the cute front yard with BBQ and private entrance. Convenience stores and cafes in walking distance. Grocery stores, shopping and numerous restaurants are minutes away by car.
Private studio cottage. Top of the line luxury mattress for restful sleep. Fully equipped kitchenette. Just 75 yards from #1 rated beach (beach towels & chairs included)
Our area is truly one of the best kept secrets in the world. It has the most amazing stretches of beaches on one side and towering grooved green mountains on the other. Locals affectionately call our area "God's Country." We are still non commercialized and visitors can really get away. The great thing is that 10 minutes in either direction you will find fine dining, art galleries, and shopping. Kailua (west of us) is fast becoming a "Little Waikiki" where tourist shops and galleries are popping up. It has some of the best little restaurants around. Hawaii Kai (East of us) has three large and busy shopping centers with movie theaters to Costco and everything in between. The drive there is along the Kaiwi coast, one of the most majestic strips of coastline you'll ever see. Lots of little beaches along the way and the famous Hanauma Bay where you can snorkel and see all sorts of ocean life. Water sports galore. We love the hiking in the mountains behind our house. Spectacular views after relatively easy hikes. We are also avid cyclists and enjoy the smooth rural roads just off our street. The Polo fields down the road always offer us "neighing" equine greetings as we drive to the market. We love this place and so will you!
  • We had a great stay at the Tropical Paradise Beach Cottage. It was as described and had all the needed amenities. We came in on a very late flight, so we arranged everything ahead of time to access the property. It was very private with it's own small yard and access gate. Someone mentioned in another review about the location on the hwy. It was a bit hard to get turned around to park in front of the access gate at times. However, the noise from the street wasn't that bothersome to us. Waimanalo beach is beautiful and wasn't busy at all and was only a short walk down the street. Our hosts were quick to respond to any questions or requests.

    Leah2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is new, stylish and clean. The bed is comfortable and you have all the amenities you need, plus some thoughtful touches and additions, like snacks and drinks. The bathroom, and particularly the shower, are spacious and modern. Quite a treat. They have done a great job with the space. The outdoor space is also attractive and well maintained. We loved staying here. It is an easy walk to the beach and includes boogie boards, chairs and a beach umbrella. Because you are close to the highway, there is some street traffic noise, but we slept just fine. A few minor things that could help include having a hose outside to wash sand off before going inside, and a helpful hint about lifting the gate handle slightly to lock it. It took us a little time to figure that out. One of the things I loved most is that the owners were thoughtful, responsive and generous. Communication was quick and easy and they accommodated our requests and even threw in extras. We are thankful!

    Georgia2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The description and pictures of this unit are accurate. What is not revealed is that it is situated just a few feet from a very busy highway. The new construction of this unit includes double pane windows which lower the road noise a bit, but earplugs are helpful for those unaccustomed to the sound of traffic in the bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped. Beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards and beach towels are provided. The bed is comfortable and there is a huge new shower. If you’ve never experience a six-foot TV with a paid subscription to Netflix you are in for a surprise. It totally transports you and road noise to another planet. The couple who run this B&B are very helpful and responsive to any needs or questions you might have. The unit is very close to what is arguably the most wonderful white sand beach in all of the Hawaiian Islands. We found it to be uncrowded and peaceful. A walk on the beach can be up to six miles long if you’re looking for some exercise.

    Greg2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay. The cottage was better than described. The private yard and bbq were a great bonus. Lots of thoughtful touches. Weather wasn’t awesome so we didn’t enjoy the beautiful beach within walking distance.

Beautiful two bedroom, two bath beach house located in a quiet, country style residential neighborhood. Just a two minute walk from one of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii! Fall asleep to sweet ocean breezes, wake up to a glorious sunrise!
Ocean~Song Beach House is well decorated and totally tropical, a very clean and comfortable home for your island getaway. It features two bedrooms with air conditioning, two full baths, and a spacious living room which opens directly to a large kitchen. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, flat-top oven and stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker, and blender. There is also a propane BBQ grill for guests to use in the garden! Sliding glass doors open from the living room to a covered porch, which looks out to a very lush and private tropical garden. Waimanalo is a truly special place, ideal for those travelers who want to get off the beaten path and who love the beach. It's a great place for surfers and boogie boarders, beach bums and nature lovers. It's a place where you can still feel the spirit of "Old Hawaii."
Waimanalo is a truly special place, ideal for those travelers who want to get off the beaten path. We have the longest beach on the island----five miles of white sand and turquoise waters! And the best thing is that it's so peaceful here, most days you can walk for a couple of miles and only see a handful of people! Gorgeous sunrises. Great for boogie boarding and snorkeling. There are quite a few really good, simple little resturants in easy walking distance from the cottage: Ono's Steak and Shrimp Shack, I Love Nalo (vegan), the Waimanalo Beach Cafe, Serg's Mexican Resturant.
  • Skye met us upon arrival and showed my family around and made us feel welcome from the start. The neighborhood was a quiet and friendly area. The beach is about a 2 minute walk past 4 homes. The property is gated and private. The beautiful beach is quiet and local. My kids and I enjoyed boogie boarding and body surfing.

  • Ocean Song Beach House was perfect for what we needed. Skye was very welcoming and accommodating. This house is located close to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. Other great things are the quietness of the neighborhood & community and the privacy was awesome. The cottage was about what you'd expect from a vintage beach home. I would recommend this cute little home to anyone that has a laid back attitude, likes to get away from the crowds and is ready for relaxing on the beach. Skye provides beach chairs, boogie boards and other beach necessities that we used a lot.

  • I would give five star to this lovely house. Beach is just one minute walk and very beautiful and not crowded. My family tried to avoid crowded Waikiki downtown and looked for calm and peaceful place. It’s 100% match. Location also perfect. Down to Waikiki and up to Kualoa Ranch, PCC and north shore. Hanauma bay is just 15min to drive. Moreover, Skye is super kind and has warm heart. She’s perfect host. I can recommend this house to my relatives and close friends in Korea. .Comments in Korean.

We are super close to some awesome hiking, biking, swimming, and snorkeling spots (Hanauma Bay), and can give our guests a local's perspective on what's fun to see, eat, and do in our area.

Welcome to the Beachside Bungalow~~~an ideal place for relaxation, rejuvenation and romance. This very comfortable, artsy studio apartment is super clean and whimsically creative in a laid-back island style, with many little touches that will make you feel right at home. It is located on a beautiful, gated property, on the ground floor of our large extended home. The studio has its own separate entrance and is very private from the rest of the house. (Please note that this rental is for adults only.) There is a front entrance lanai leading you into the studio, and a very private backyard lanai, a great spot for romantic evenings sitting outside listening to the sounds of the surf, or sipping your coffee while the sun rises in the morning. A comfortable loveseat and papasan face the charming garden pond, complete with our resident fish. The waterfall makes a soothing sound, combining with the musical wind chimes and the sound of the surf. A perfect interlude from life’s hectic pace. The studio has a very comfortable queen size bed, with high quality sheets and a beautiful Hawaiian quilt. There is a tropical style ceiling fan and also a stand up fan. The apartment faces towards the ocean, and gets wonderful trade winds passing through, keeping the space cool and comfortable. There is a small bathroom with a seashell decorated toilet and a handcrafted talavera sink. A separate room houses the extra large shower. The kitchenette has a full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, small electric griddle and rice cooker, as well as dishes and kitchen utensils. We also offer WiFi. At the front of the property there's a beautiful outdoor beach shower , adorned with amazing turquoise flowers. They're so beautiful and unusual guests can't believe they're real!! A two minute walk down our little road will take you to one of the most breathtaking beaches in Hawaii. Sunrise is spectacular! (In 2001 National Geographic named it one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!) To make your days at the beach even better, we offer the complimentary use of beach chairs & mats, towels, boogie boards, coolers and a sun umbrella. The location is ideal, a residential country setting nestled between the turquoise ocean on one side and the spectacular Ko'olau mountains on the other. Go to sleep at night to the sound of the waves and the sweet waterfall right outside your bedroom window. Wake in the morning to the songs of the many birds who call this home. Relaxation~~~Rejuvenation~~~Romance
  • Skye's house is like a little paradise. It is exactly like it looks in the photos. It's very quiet and private, with a nice little garden outside. There's everything one can need: beach chairs, towels, beach umbrella, plates, glasses, cups. There are nice restaurants walking distance from the house. The beach is the best in Oahu. Skye is a perfect host, friendly, welcoming, ready to answer any questions. We'll definitely be back.

  • We loved the charming little Mermaid Cottage! Skye is friendly and easy. We were able to walk to a variety of food options...the neighborhood is great!

    Amber2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location half a block from our favorite beach on Oahu. Very clean and private. Rental includes all beach gear, including towels. The private lanai and grounds around the rentals are just lovely. This is a residential rental, with other rentals and the host on the same property, but care has been taken to keep it feeling private and secluded. We would definitely stay there again.

    Sharon2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Skye's "mermaid cottage" was lovely, quirky, and appeared as described. It's worth noting that the walls are thin, and I could hear the family talking in the cottage beside me all night. Skye provides plenty of towels and beach supplies as well as a big, comfy bed. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, and the beach is gorgeous. Unfortunately, it became clear to me that after I'd paid, the host didn't actually care about my experience. For this reason, I would not recommend Skye's properties. I found her to be unreasonable and unpleasant to communicate with... I paid almost $600: the full two-person price + fees for three nights (plus a $68 "hawaii hotel tax" IN CASH upon arrival, no questions asked), but when I asked her--24 hours in advance--to add my friend to the rental agreement, Skye refused, citing her "no unregistered guests" policy. I explained that I simply wanted to add a second registered guest, as it's a two person rental. I didn't want to bring unregistered people over or exceed her two-person max; I wanted to share the two-person space with my friend, for one of the nights. She simply refused, then blew me off to finish preparing for her next guests' arrival. I regret spending my money on this B&B. The place itself was charming and I would have fallen in love with it... With it's two private lanais (porches) and plenty of space, as it is set up to accommodate two people comfortably... But being forced to stay there alone for three nights wasn't fun. It's a relatively affordable option for the area, and if you register off the bat as a couple then you'll probably have a fine time together, but one can easily find another place with a host who genuinely cares about everyone's experience.

  • This bungalow was absolutely amazing. It is exactly as she states. About a 2 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. And, it is close to a lot of other scenic places as well. Located in a small neighborhood that is quiet and slow paced. Also close to a few local places to eat. 10 to 15 minutes to Kailua, a decent sized town with shopping and other restaurants. The bungalow is on Skye's property, but you only cross paths with her and other guests if you want to. She is super friendly and so helpful. We loved this place. Super clean, everything is there for your stay. Would love to return one day. Thank you Skye!

    Crystal2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival, Skye was very welcoming -- she checked in with me 24hr prior to arrival. She greeted me & my boyfriend with open arms & gave us a tour of her adorable beach bungalow. The pictures & description are EXACTLY what you get & MORE! Perfect size studio with whimsical decor (truly sets the mood of an Hawaiian vacation -- I've stayed in nice hotels & condos but THIS is more my style). The private patio in the back is another escape, complete with a babbling fountain & fish! Please note, there is NO central AC & you have to rely on the warm ocean breeze & fans (that Skye provides). Me & my boyfriend didn't mind, because we liked to keep our windows open to listen to the babbling fountain that lulled us to sleep & since you are on the WINDward side, you definitely get that ocean breeze to cool you down. The beach... well, I'll let that one be a surprise to you... I want to be selfish & not give away this hidden gem on Oahu but Skye is such an amazing hostess who respects your privacy & she truly expects you to have the vacation you deserve, so she deserves the BEST review possible. Thank you beautiful Skye for opening & sharing your home with us, we hope to visit you again soon. April & Matthew

  • Wonderful apartment. Very close to the beach. The provided beach chairs and umbrellas and fins were very nice to have.

    Saurav2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Skye's place was a little slice of paradise away from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough to get to at any time. The communication, check-in and assistance provided by Skye was exceptional. We enjoyed using the space as our base as we explored Oahu. Also, the beach steps from the house is truly a hidden gem. Thank you for your hospitality, Skye and we look forward to returning again in the future!

Quite 1 bedroom apartment that is just a block from the White Sands of Waimanalo Beach. Full kitchen with everything you need. Enjoy breakfast on the private lanai with mountain views. Walk to restaurants and dinning. Futon in the living room provides sleeping for up to 4 adults. Comes with boogie boards, snorkeling gear, Kayaks, Surf board, Cooler, Beach Chairs and much more. Washer and Dryer are available so you can pack a little lighter. We deliver a 5star property and 5star experience.
This quiet 1 bedroom/1 bath unit is attached to a house rented by a long term tenant. The unit is attached to the house but there is only a small common wall and nobody is above you. The other tenants keep to themselves and are there if you need anything. There is a futon in the living room for additional guests.
We are in a quiet residential neighborhood. As such please respect our neighbors quiet hours from 930pm to 8am.
  • Fabulous location. Great, attentive hosts.

    John2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The host is absolutely wonderful and readily available. The amenities where as described and the location is a nice quiet neighborhood close to one of the better beaches we’ve been to on Oahu. AC was added during our trip. Upgrades in progress. Available beach accessories include beach chairs, snorkel gear, and boogie boards for two. Washer and dryer shared between the two residences.

    Johnny2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at this Waimanalo beach rental for a week and a half with my mom, and we both had a great vacation staying here. My mom has some trouble getting around so this ground level unit was very nice for her. Mom took the bedroom and I slept perfectly on the futon in the living area. The place is clean and has everything you could possibly need including a full kitchen (so nice for not having to eat at restaurants all the time), also a great TV with cable (we are not night life folks and preferred relaxing by the TV after our beach days). Pictures of the space are accurate, and I love the electronic lock (no keys at the beach!). Being able to do laundry is a huge plus! Location is just a short walk to what I believe is the best beach on Oahu. The hosts, Holly and Mark, were super helpful and welcoming. We felt like locals hanging out on the covered patio. Everyone is so friendly, waving and saying hello. I love the neighborhood, having stayed here twice before, and know I will be back again. Thanks for a safe and relaxing place to rejuvenate!

    Necia2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This bungalow was a block from the best vegan food on the island. The quiet secluded neighborhood puts you about a two block walk to a great beach. You will be the only tourist on the beach, everyone else is local. The welcome book has some great tips and ideas for things to do. Access to washer and dryer, beach towels, chairs and boogie board were nice touches. Say hello to Gene the gecko, who lives under the table.

    Robert2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This home is nice and has all the amenities listed and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Holly and Mark are extremely accommodating. The neighbors are pretty great too. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to one of the most breathtaking and secluded beaches we’ve seen on Oahu. Kailua is just a 10 minute drive to go out to restaurants or go to the grocery stores. This unit was clean and tidy. There is a welcome book loaded with lots of information on things to do. We had a ton of fun.

    Angela2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this sweet space! We had a comfy bed with a/c, nice little kitchen and living room with a big TV. The best part was the beach! Just a short stroll and we were on the most lovely beach with soft white sand and blue water. We loved the sunrises, long walks and there are even trees so you can be in the shade at the beach. We enjoyed the boogie boards and the cooler with wheels. Holly was so nice and answered all our questions right away. The cottage was nice and clean and we met the lovely housekeeper who also gave us some tips on things to do. There was a good manual with tips and info in it. The neighborhood was friendly and there is a yummy restaurant right around the corner - Ai Love Nalo, and yoga classes and a great Co-op market. This was a small quiet beach neighborhood but it only took us a 1/2 hour to get from the airport and to Waikiki and pearl harbor. We'll be back!

    Karin2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Precious little place, walking distance to a beautiful, low traffic beach. 10-15 min drive to delicious restaurants and shops in Kailua. Tons of tips in the welcome folder too!

  • Great space which was perfect for my husband and 2 young daughters to settle in after beach days and have a meal. Lovely neighborhood, beautiful views and a short walk to the beach which was amazing. Great neighbors too. We will definitely be back to stay. Thank you .

Private, side entrance, newly renovated studio in a cute Hawaii Kai neighborhood. Swimming pool on property however access is upon request and very limited. This studio is 5 min from the famous east coast beaches of Oahu, Sandy's, Makapu'u, and Hanauma Bay. Very short drive to the beautiful beaches of Waimanalo and Kailua as well.
Beautiful new space attached to my home. The space is completely private, away from the touristy area of Waikiki in the sought after Hawaii Kai neighborhood.
Close to Sandy’s Beach, Halona Blow Hole, Hanauma Bay, Makapu’u Beach and Light House Hike, Waimanalo Beaches, Koko Head Stair Hike, Costco, and many stores and restaurants. Parasailing, jet skiing, etc. at Koko Marina shopping center.
  • Charmaines's guest suite is newly remodeled, super clean and beautifully decorated. We were the first people to stay there and would recommend it to everyone. Charmaine went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay and her hospitality was fantastic. The suite is fully equipped with everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable and the large tile shower is gorgeous. The location is fantastic for people wanting a closer drive to places like Makapuu Beach, Hanauma bay, Sandy Beach etc. We feel this is one of the most beautiful sides of the Island and much more laid back the busy Waikiki area which suited us perfectly! If you want a relaxing, beautiful place to stay, don't think twice about staying with Charmaine.

    Phil2017-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely lovely. We expected it to be a great place, but it was even better than we could hope for. Very clean, modern and cozy! The location was perfect for us, as we wanted a pretty secluded area, close to the beach. The car is necessary to get around, however the bus stop is right around the corner and it can take you to Waikiki. Charmaine was a wonderful host, always happy to help. We had an amazing time at this place and look forward to come back again.

    Alina2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine is very nice lady and it is very tastefully done place. However, I had an unfortunate incident with fleas in the studio. I had to cut my stay short from all the bites. Apparently, since she says other guests did not have an issue with this, my best guess is it's from the time I spent with her, her family and in her car (couple hrs one day). As I said, previous reviews they all seemed fine, so I'd just recommend not spending time in the yard, with the cat, in her home or car and presumably you should be fine.

    Shiuan2018-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular! We're always reluctant to book a new listing with limited reviews, but if you're hesitating for that reason, have no fear. The space is immaculately clean and brand new. It's full of nice real wood furniture, an extremely comfortable bed and crisp linens, and tons of fresh new towels and other necessaries. All fixtures and materials used are of a very high quality, especially for a rental. The studio is also quite spacious and includes everything one could possibly need and more. Kitchen is fully equipped, including a neat 3-in-1 breakfast machine with a griddle and coffeemaker. A nice gas BBQ grill is available on the patio. The bathroom, like the rest of the space, is wonderful and includes a massive shower and quality toiletries. Sliding doors, blinds and window treatments are also excellent and work great. In short, the studio is extremely comfortable and, dare I say, luxurious. In fact, it's probably more pleasant, clean and functional than any resort we stayed in during our travels. It also feels totally private, with its own entrance and patio as well as a garage separating it from the main house. Amazing value. We feel the studio is worth twice what it cost us, if not more. Thanks Charmaine!

    Peter 2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine’s studio was modern, stylish, fresh and clean. Perfect for the two of us. It was so refreshing and comfortable to come back to after our full days of exploring O’ahu. The location of this place was excellent for its proximity to drive to all the fun stuff in the South of the island (Makapu’u, Haunauma Bay, Waimanalo, Koko, Diamond Head, Waikiki) with the added peaceful quiet of being well outside the buzz of downtown. It was exactly what we were looking for on this trip. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed to make full meals. There was obviously a lot of care put into making this a nice place to stay. Charmaine was an excellent host - she helped us out with a few local tips and checked in during our stay to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommended!

  • This was my first time using airbnb so I was a little bit nervous but I honestly don't think I could have had a better experience. Stacey and her husband were very welcoming, good at communicating and made us feel right at home the second we got there. The house/room were very clean and they made sure we had everything we needed. They gave us a lot of helpful local advice and treated us like family. Would definitely stay with them again!

    Kaitlyn2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey's wonderful house in Hawaii Kai has a great location and amenities. If renting a car, there are ample spots. In addition, she also provides amenities such as towels and a/c. Honestly felt like a home, especially since my girlfriend is from Oahu. They will give you the fullest attention when needed and available, further a full amount of privacy. Please get a chance to speak with this awesome family!

Beachfront Villas sit on an immaculate 1/2 acre oceanfront lot in the eastern-facing shoreline town of Waimanalo, at the very end in an area called "Pa Honu" by locals. Refreshing ocean air, having traveled across thousands of miles of open Pacific Ocean, meets the majestic Ko’olau Mountain Range here, creating a sense of wonder & serenity respected by both locals & tourists alike. We are a 1/4 mile from the famous Magnum P.I. house & Pa Honu Hawaiian Fish Pond! Sometimes, Hawai'i 5-0 Films on Location at our Property :D Historically, this land was preserved by the ancients for their revered indigenous crops like lo’i kalo (taro), ‘ulu (breadfruit), niu (coconut) & ‘awapuhi (ginger flowers), as well for the hand-constructed fish ponds. Pahonu; which means “turtle enclosure” in Hawaiian is only a 5 minute walk down the beach, can still be seen today in full beauty. True to it’s name, this Hawaiian fish pond was utilized to house live honu or “sea turtles” reserved only for consumption by the ali’i or chiefs of Old Hawai’i. Today, the stretch of pristine beach between Pahonu fish pond & the last remaining private pier along the six miles stretching from Lanikai to Makapu’u still retains it’s incredible mana or “positive energy.” When guests arrive to experience our property for themselves, they immediately settle into the laid back feel of the aina or “land” & state that they feel as if they can reach out & touch both the natural barrier reef & mountain summits from their comfortable home away from home accommodations. The Beachfront Villa Homes; Makapu’u Hale, Honu Cottage & Nalo Hale have been built & maintained with purpose & care. Owner Mike comes from 6 generations born in Hawai’i & frequents the property to preserve it’s gardens as well as share his passion for sailing on his canoe, “Pa Honu.” Every tree, bush & flower have been planted with purpose including the numerous Native Hawaiian ginger, naupaka (half-flower) & coconut trees. Even the interior of the homes have accents of breadfruit & taro designs in honor of the land’s colorful history. When you come & experience our country homes by the sea, we guarantee that you will feel rejuvenated & at peace. Your ohana or “family” will enjoy one of the best snorkeling experiences O’ahu has to offer, witness numerous sea turtle sitings, embrace our luxurious amenities including hammocks, swings & hot tubs as well as embrace the natural simplicity that Waimanalo Beach has to offer. We look forward to your visit!
  • Our family had an amazing time at this lovely clean and unique Cottage on the beach! It was amazing and a dream come true to be able to wake up walk to the ocean and go swimming and snorkeling in our own private beach! Watching the sunrise from the pier was a amazing experience. Our kids LOVED the swings and tree house! Everything we needed was there! The home was sparkling clean. Outdoor shower was wonderful for washing sand off. There are a lot of beach equipment for snorkeling and body boards at the home to use! We met with owner Mike and wish our stay was longer so the kids could have taken a sailboat ride. We WiLL be back again!

  • We can't say enough kind words about Vickie's place. This stay was more than we could have imagined and wish we never had to leave. It was an absolutely perfect size for the two of us as well! We're from the East coast on the mainland so we were pretty jetlagged most of our trip but it was so easy to wake up at 4 or 5AM every morning to catch that perfect sunrise either from the pier, the beach or even our lanai! Each view was just as spectacular as the other! Let me not forget about the view from the bedroom loft! We tried our very best to soak in each the view and we're really kicking ourselves for booking only 3 nights. A week minimum for Vickie's place for us next time! One of our favorite features was the outdoor shower. I couldn't explain the convenience and the spectacular view you are graced with this outdoor shower, especially after a dip in the ocean. Vickie provides an abundant amount of beach and snorkel gear to allow the best use of their beach. Kitchen ware was more than we bargained for and laundry detergent was ready to go for our use. The location of her property is the definition of a hidden gem. We honestly can't imagine staying anywhere else on Oahu than at her place. Her communication was superb and was kind on answering every question I had. She even allowed us to utilize some of the amenities at the other houses while they were unoccupied. The aloha spirit from Vickie was anything and everything anyone could ever ask for on their visit to Hawaii. Mahalo, Vickie!

  • Vicki’s Place was all that my new bride and I could have bargained for and more. The little cottage was nestled on an absolutely beautiful, picturesque spot of Waimanalo Beach removed from the distraction and noise of the city and other busy parts of O‘ahu. The cottage has everything you needed to enjoy your stay including great A/C, cooking utensils, strong WiFi, a private pier to enjoy the morning sunrise and sunset, access to the beach, and so much more! It is a bit on the pricier end, but I certainly felt like I got my money’s worth at Vicki’s place. It certainly helped make my honeymoon of a lifetime.

  • My wife and I along with our little one booked this private cottage for a 4th of July weekend getaway and loved it. Easy access to a private pier and to the ocean via a small beach were great. Fun features like a tree house and swing were nice touches. Laycie stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed and our stay was relaxing and refreshing.

    Brandon2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice ocean view (Yes! It is ON the beach!) and very comfortable house. Laycie is very considerate, and she stopped by to check if everything is good with us. We really enjoyed our time there.

  • Great location on the beach. Nice sunset when waking up. Clean house and overall nice experience. Look forward to returning again in the future.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was just the right size for our small family of 3. The property is especially fun for kids. Our daughter (4 yo) loved playing on the swings, treehouse and hammock. The location can't be beat - right on the beach but close (~10 minutes) to the nearest shopping, restaurants and attractions. We even caught an octopus from a nearby tidepool and grilled it on the bbq! Note that the bathroom only has a shower stall, which might be problematic for a very large person or if you prefer taking baths.

Aloha! My place is close to the beach (Sandy's, Waimanalo and Hanauma Bay) restaurants and dining, Koko Head, Makapuu, and Waikiki (11 miles).. You’ll love my place because of Quiet and safe Hawaii Kai.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It is a 600 sq ft apartment in lower part. • Nice BnB, located in a nice neighborhood. Assuming you have a car, you're located near Costco and other useful places. It is also not far from some great beaches (10min drive). Great value for the money! Only downside I can think of was the small shower, but everything else was excellent.

  • Jake's place was in a convenient location for exploring the island. We enjoy the East side of the island. It is close to beaches, Sea Life Park, hiking, restaurants and more. The family is very quiet and we were provided with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We loved the waterfall outside our bedroom window.

  • Loved staying here for Christmas vacation. Great location for Southeast Oahu sites and beaches. Jake was a great host, very responsive and helpful. Gave us some great ideas for hikes. Snorkel shop nearby and grocery stores. Great value, nice family. Highly recommend.

  • Jake & his wife Nicole are amazingly wonderful people. They are very down to earth & made our stay extremely comfortable. Their rental space is just as they have posted in the pictures. The kitchen is perfect for making meals in. The bed is comfy. Their home is centrally located which made our commute around the island easy. We give them 10 stars!

  • I really enjoyed our stay with my husband and child. Perfect size. Close enough to shopping and beautiful views. Can get a bit warm if your not used to the heat. There are fans only. But for the price, you cant go wrong!

Incredible proximity to a great beach from this home! It really felt like being a member of the family at this place, which is great for some, and was exactly what I wanted.
