Just booked in West Cornwall, Cornwall

Amazing victorian house in the trees. Drive under a covered bridge and see the house on a hill above the quaint town. A painstakingly preserved and decorated 3 story house with French mirrors, Moroccan lamps, Shaker furniture, and Persian carpets.
As featured in New York Magazine! Amazing historic victorian (ca. 1870) in front of a stream, in Historic West Cornwall, right past the covered bridge, nestled over 3 floors on a small hill in the middle of the trees. Retaining every historical feature. Oozes of charm & style. With a farmers market right across the street in summer and skiing right in town at Mohawk Mountain in winter. The house has amazing furniture retaining a great historic feel while adding a lot of charm and style. It's perfect for artists and couples wishing a romantic get away from the city. The house is on 3 floors overlooking the stream and town, right over the covered bridge and close to restaurants, a coffee shop, antiques, and the Housatonic River. With a great garden and huge stone steps. Enjoy views of the creek from the front porch and from patio on the second floor. Located in a historic West Cornwall, right past the covered bridge on the Housantic River about 2 hours from NYC. Accommodates 2-4 people comfortably in 2 bedrooms in 1,400 square feet of space over 3 floors. - 2 bedrooms - note guest bedroom has a heavy linen curtain separating it for the living space but not a door. - 1 old claw foot bathtub and separate toilette. No shower. Please note the bathtub is separated from the bedroom with a linen curtain. Again no door. Also it is accessed via the bedroom. - 1 main living room with huge cathedral ceiling - 1 historic kitchen -- 1930s stove not working. Kitchen is rustic with found wood shelves and original 1890s open shelves. We have a toaster oven and induction hot plate for cooking. Full size refrigerator. - 1 - dining room, and fantastic day bed - 1 large front porch and patio on the second floor Pets are considered with security deposit. No smoking. Linens/towels included. Washer/dryer. From the May 20th 2013 New York Magazine article "Even the drive to this three-story 1870s Litchfield County Victorian is picture perfect: Pass through a covered bridge and you'll spot it peeking through the leaves, perched on an oak-dotted hillside. The two-bedroom, one-bath house has undergone a top-to-bottom interior restoration and a systems overhaul, which means you can bask in period charm (bay windows, a claw-foot tub, exposed-beam ceilings) without forgoing the ease of modern conveniences (reliable plumbing and electricity). The décor is a shabby-chic mix of plush velvet chairs, Shaker furniture, perfectly weathered Oriental rugs, and knickknacks from local haunts like Michael Trapp's antique shop (7 River Rd.; (phone number hidden)), just up the road. Fill your days with walks to the nearby stream, afternoon dips in Cream Hill Lake, and kayaking excursions on the Housatonic River." The house is set on 1 acre, on small hill in front of a creek. About 3/5 the property is wooded on a hill. The sloped nature of the land combined with the woodland and water edges give the property a private feeling in summer, but with the walkable amenities of a country hamlet (post office, restaurant, café, antique shop – all in view of the covered bridge). Nearby are the historic towns of Kent, Lakeville, Litchfield, Great Barrington, and Millerton.
West Cornwall is right over the covered bridge. There is a farmers market across the street, Wandering Moose Cafe for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and you are a short drive from at least 5 great towns. Lot's of great skiing right in town and also at Catamount and Butternut!
  • This house is so cute and the interiors are beautifully and very creatively done. The owners obviously love their place, which you can feel. They weren't in town but Mary was enormously kind and helpful with any questions I had. She even brought me her hairdryer to use, not because I asked for hers but because I was looking around for one. Adore the clawfoot tub, master bedroom and even the second bed was such a cozy little cave. The living room also is very cozy and love their choice in furnishing and decor. I'm so curious what the house is like in summer as it's winter at the moment. I'm sure it's even more fabulous to have all the windows open and greenery all around. Really appreciate the fantastic speakers for music, something you don't always think about when traveling but so appreciate having if available. You have to park in the post office's lot bc the house doesn't have it's own driveway so make sure your car is all the way to the back as far left and close to the bushes as possible to avoid getting trapped behind other cars during the day (and also avoid the stink eye from the post office lady).

  • Larry's home is quite unique. Beautiful old wood floors and very bohemian decor. The bedding was comfortable and luxurious. Great old Victorian with lots of charm. I would stay again.

  • Host was very communicative and Mary was so helpful and kind! The house itself is wonderful. Really well done interior, so much charm, and so close to skiing, hiking, and more! We hope to return soon.

  • Probably the most beautiful house I have ever stayed in. Very secluded and the sound of the running stream nearby is very calming.

    Robert2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great and so relaxing, even though it's close to a town and farmer's market, and Larry was easy to work with. Would visit again!

    Kurt2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Larry's house. His house is even better than the pictures. Our only regret was that we could not spend more time there. We definitely hope to come back in the future, and strongly recommend this house to anyone looking to spend some time in a restful and beautiful place.

  • Loved this charming Victorian house. It was the perfect blend of rustic and modern. The furnishings were extremely comfortable and I could easily have stayed for a week. It just started to get cool when we were there but the heat on each floor was quick to warm up the place (coming from NYC this temperature control was magical). The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you'd need as well as teas, spices and basics like that. Also, warning. The bed is so insanely comfortable you may never want to get out of it. Can't say enough good things about this charming and magical house!

    David2013-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing time here, such a magical place. Everything is well appointed. I needed a getaway that was in the tri-state area and this was just that. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something off the beaten path. I can't wait to return one day.

  • Elyse was great. Very prompt with communications. Todd and Evie met us at the property and were very helpful! Clean and comfy, lots of bathrooms!

    Mike2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • For where a whole slew of needed to be, this house was ideal. When we checked in, it was 21 degrees outside, and the house heated up in minutes. Each of the four roomy bedrooms essentially had its own private bathroom, and all the bathrooms had been recently updated and were the best. The beds were comfy, the family room / kitchen combo was terrific for the time we were there before and after our afternoon and evening events at a local inn. Many thanks, Elyse, for being accurate and available. Peter & JoAnne and our brood from up and down the West Coast

  • The house was great, my team was working at Lime Rock Park for the week and we had a tough time finding a decent hotel close by. We went this route and it proved to be great. The rooms were all clean and tidy, plenty of showers, plenty of bedrooms, and a great common area. We worked long hours so we really were only there to shower, decompress, and sleep, and it worked perfectly. There is a loud train once per night that went by but it wasn't awful. Highly recommend it if you're in town for the race track and you need a place for a group.

    Ryan2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was wonderful! It was the perfect place to host our group and served as a great base camp for the area's activities. The home was clean and well appointed. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely come back.

  • Comfortable house in a great location in West Cornwall! We booked Elyse's house for friends & family to stay in while we hosted a party at our home in Cornwall. The house was very easy to find & check into, especially with Elyse's detailed instructions. The house worked perfectly for our purposes & was very comfortable for our guests (several groups of couples). They appreciated the many bathrooms & had a great time relaxing in the living room together each morning and before bed. Would definitely book again for another party.

  • Me and my girlfriend escaped NYC to go leaf peeping and apple picking in Connecticut for the weekend. This cottage was perfect, lots of space, huge garden. Ned provided great information over email before our stay, and everything was as described. No issues what so ever, recommended!

  • Great, just as expected.

  • Good communication with Ned, clean, warm, comfortable place, beautiful surroundings, perfect foliage weekend.

    Antonio2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Communication was both prompt & welcoming. The cottage was beautifully situated. The kitchen was well-stocked. We were glad for the firmer mattress in the left bedroom, but others may prefer the pillowtop in the right bedroom. The cottage was very clean & a path to the river clearly marked & well-maintained. We were very comfortable for the 2 days we stayed.

    Sheila2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great little getaway. Easy drive from NYC. Pictures are accurate, place was clean and we had everything we needed. Ned is super nice and provided very detailed info, it was super helpful. Although you're right off the road it feels very much like you're in the forest. Thanks again for everything Ned.

Spectacular west-facing views of the Litchfield hills await in this meticulously restored cottage with beautiful gardens on 5 acres of tended grounds. 3 bedroom, 2 baths on quiet dead-end street. 5 Minutes from Housatonic River and Mohawk Ski Area.
This is a very unique spot in the area. It is on the side of a small mountain facing due west (sunsets!) and is nestled among gardens and trees several hundred yards off of the small and exclusive road it is located on. The driveway is level, so it is easy to drive into (no big hill to climb). The cottage is very cozy, but is bright and airy with A LOT of windows to take in the views. The cottage has recently been fully restored. The furniture is mostly antique, while the bathrooms/kitchen are all recently remodeled and provide the standard modern amenities.
This is a very exclusive and sparsely populated road in West Cornwall. There are few people that live on the street and it is a dead end, so very little traffic at all. We generally have our dogs off leash and with our kids running about our property.

  • It was a great experience!!! All the family loved it. My parents stayed for 10 days, and I visited with my daughter for the weekend part of the trip. We had a great time. The house is perfect, and really well equipped for cooking, and relaxing!! The bedrooms were lovely, and everything so well decorated and looked after. We would love to visit again. Cornwall is the most special place.

  • Steve's house is spacious, filled with light, and in a gorgeous location on the side of a mountain. There is a huge backyard and plenty of outdoor space, but even when you're inside it feels like you are part of the outdoors because of all of the windows. The kitchen is large and accommodating and the beds are super comfy. There are TONS of great hikes within a half an hour's drive. It's really hard to believe that you are a couple of hours from NYC because it feels like another world. And stay up late because the stars at night are AMAZING! It's a real gift that Steve shares this home and I would recommend it highly.

  • We stayed for a weekend with some friends and had a great time. The house is on a beautiful and very quiet plot of land surrounded by forest and with a gorgeous view. The house has a great layout, with a large living room, a nice dining area surrounded by windows, a well equipped kitchen, and a large deck. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor fireplace. This wasn't a problem for us, but there are no shades on the windows, so it hard to sleep in once the sun is up. Also, the shower head in the bathroom off the master bedroom is partially clogged and is not ideal. Overall, we had an amazing weekend here, and would definitely consider coming back.

    Ferenc2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was an incredibly communicative and accommodating host. Access to the house was seamless and the house was nothing short of incredible. Beautiful views match the gorgeous interiors - it's hard for a space to feel cozy AND spacious - but this nails it. If you're cooking, the kitchen has everything you would need (and more). The views are tremendous and the fireplace ties everything together as the centerpiece of the home. Short and sweet: it's a beautiful place with a great host, I highly recommend.

  • This was a great stay that started with Mark being a way better communicator than me - he actually called to see we are ok and not lost on the way. Mark welcomed us with his lovely daughter and showed us around the house. He gave us recommendations for things to do and where to shop. The area itself is really beautiful with the route 7 drive along the river, small old towns, local farms, and more. We would definitely come back here.

Excellent movie theaters also 20 minutes away. Everything (except nature!) is 20 minutes away... Jacob's Pillow, Music Mountain, Tanglewood all easy driving distance.
  • This lovely little home in the country was perfect for us. We rented the house to edit a movie - and it was perfect for peace and quiet and achieving just that. Dominique is a very attentive wonderful host. We hope to return.

    Audrey2014-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful and had everything to make us feel comfortable; we much enjoyed a few quiet days in the countryside. And the porch was also a pleasant spot in the morning sun or at dusk.... Catherine was very welcoming and helpful in pointing out some beautiful places for us to visit in the surrounding area.

    Michaela 2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really wonderful time at Dominque and Catherine's cozy cottage in Cornwall. The living room/dining communal space is particularly full of charm. The setting has tons of character (views of Mohawk mountain and the changing foliage). They really went out of their way to ensure comfort. Flowers and cookies awaited us. Great towns of Litchfield county are all 15-20 mins away.

    Jared2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dominique and Catherine's cottage is lovelier than the photos with picturesque vistas from every window, large rooms and beautiful artwork and furniture. In town for a wedding, my husband and I stayed here for two nights with our 3-month-old daughter, mother, sister and dog and we found it to be quiet, safe, clean and just overall very idyllic. We had everything we needed and our hosts were nearby and on call if anything additional might be needed. Highly recommend!

    Margaret2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dominique and Catherine's cottage was perfect for our family of four plus one set of grandparents. We had very rainy weather on the Saturday, but it actually ended up being a great excuse to just hang out in this lovely space in front of the fire. The kitchen is well stocked with pretty much everything you could need to cook. I also love that the television is not in the living room - TV can be such a distraction and we all enjoyed reading and chatting instead. Cornwall Bridge is only a few miles away and we could get most of our basic necessities from there. There are also enough restaurants and delis in Kent to fill the need for a meal out or anything else you might feel like. The host also kindly offered us a late checkout because we had such wet weather, which was a lovely gesture. All in all we had a great stay! Thank you

  • What an incredibly relaxing and beautiful home. The property is gorgeous and well-maintained with a beautiful red barn. The house is comfortably rustic (and tastefully decorated!) with all the amenities you could ask for, including a working fire place. We had Thanksgiving there and found everything we could possibly need for a delightful and comfortable stay. Can't wait to come back. Dominique and Catherine couldn't have been more accommodating.

Wonderful home on a quiet road in picturesque Cornwall Connecticut. Covered bridge, Appliacian trail, Mohawk downhill ski area, Hoositonic river. Come share our little piece of paradise. Watch the deer and turkeys play in our front field.
We are on a quiet country road with plenty of space to roam the woods and fields. The lake is a short hike away.
  • Our stay in this country home couldn't have been better! The house was even more than depicted in its photos. It was so comfortable & homey that it was difficult to leave each day to go exploring. There was more than enough space for everyone, many cozy places to lounge & relax, large windows AND privacy throughout, bathrooms with enormous tubs/showers, expansive yard within a sprawling forest, and the coup de gras - the solarium which overlooked all this beauty. The hosts were welcoming, informative, and accessible. It was the best taste of country living that I can imagine.

Architect-designed, contemporary, 3-bedroom country home. Sited on five private hillside acres with breathtaking views of the Housatonic River Valley in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains.
My home has four-zone geothermal heating and air conditioning, seven-zone heated floors, wood, slate, and stone flooring, gourmet granite, cherry, and stainless steel kitchen, spectacular spiral stair, and attached, two-car garage. Private WiFi network; Easy access to Cornwall's own Mohawk Mountain ski area (and about a 1-hour drive to nine other ski resorts) and covered bridge, the Housatonic River, antiquing, and the Appalachian Trail. Easy ride to Tanglewood and the Berkshires. Free summer season family pass to the town's beach (a pass will be provided to you, if you wish); Free tennis on town's clay courts; Wifi enabled controls for the heating and air conditioning systems permit remote adjustment.
My home is in the northwest corner of Connecticut, where New York State and Massachusetts meet. There are activities for all four seasons.
  • Great place in a secluded area. Wonderful place to stay if you need to be in Cornwall or just want to get away.

  • Great secluded house just a stone's throw from the West Cornwall covered bridge! We booked Ira's house for friends & family to stay in while we hosted a party at our home in Cornwall. Ira's associate Priscilla was very accommodating in helping us find & check into the house (which is at the top of slightly tricky driveway). The house worked perfectly for our purposes & was comfortable for our guests. I would definitely book again if we have another party or guests for a ski weekend.

Our home is a two hour train ride from New York City, using the Metro North Line to Wassaic, NY, with a 15 minutes ride to/from our house (taxi available).
Our home is located in a lovely neighborhood atop Sharon Mountain. Some of our neighbors are " weekenders" from NYC and some live year-round. People are quite friendly and helpful as well.
  • We had a wonderful stay at this airbnb! The house was very large so our two families were able to spread out and come together easily. It was stocked very well with things like paper towels and trash bags which we often don't find in other Airbnb's. The also had yummy smelling organic hand wash in each bathroom. Our hosts were very kind in telling us to bring ground coffee which was a plus! We packed a coffee grinder and there were no surprises. The appliances were in excellent shape and doing a load of laundry was a cinch! The house was kid friendly and the kids had a blast running around outside. We ate outside on the deck and the Weber grill was so convenient to have available to us! It was close to a grocery store and a movie theater in Millerton! What a wonderful relaxing weekend! Thank you again!

  • Very quiet and nice place to stay. Mary is a very accommodating host and I would like to recommend this place to more friends who are going to visit schools.

  • We had a fantastic stay. Everything thing was easy from the minute we arrived. The house has a well appointed kitchen, the beds were comfortable (with plenty of spare bedding), the welcome basket with teas, chocolate and cereal was such a lovely touch. The garden was beautiful and the kids loved the frogs. We all had an amazing time - thank you!

    Julie2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Phillip and Mary were great hosts! We had all the information we needed sent to us days before our arrival, which was super helpful since my parents arrived shortly before I did - and they had no problem finding the place and getting situated before I got there. The home and property is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The house is warm, cozy and clean and there is everything you need from blankets to towels, a coffee maker, toaster, etc. Although we didn't do any cooking (except for small breakfasts), it looked like everything you would need is there. Overall, it was an amazing Airbnb experience and I would definitely return for another trip! Everyone who stayed with us loved it!

    Hannah2017-09-10T00:00:00Z

  • We enjoyed comfort, serenity and a glorious natural setting during our stay at Mary's house. The house has spacious, light-filled rooms and a large, well-equipped kitchen that invites dining with its central table rimmed by wonderful bench-type seating. • Communication leading up to the weekend was excellent. Martha was very helpful in offering advice about the surrounding area. The house was lovely - simple and well appointed, and ideal for a weekend reunion for a few friends. We spent most of the time on the deck, which was large enough for all of us to congregate, and we even brought two Weber grills to cook with. Can't recommend Fort Housatonic enough.

    Ben2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is an incredibly quaint log cabin in the Connecticut woods overlooking a beautiful river. It is a perfect balance of modern amenities and convenience with the appearance of true back-in-time living. Although it is tucked away in a remote lot, it is just minutes from several small towns, in particular Kent, which is a beautiful, upscale New England village. Martha provided detailed instructions on how to get there, and how to get around the area, with tons of suggestions on restaurants, activities and sites to see. Thanks to her guidance, we enjoyed a glorious kayaking trip, an amazing BBQ dinner and of course some fishing.

  • This place is a steal. Some friends and I were in CT for a wedding and we stayed at Martha's. She was extremely prompt with communication and helpful with tips about the town and navigating. The house is a quick drive from town and a great cafe but secluded enough to feel like a private getaway in a stunning part of CT. The backyard is well maintained and the porch is perfect for lounging while listening to the river. We also loved that the house is full of cool antiques.

    Rachel2017-06-25T00:00:00Z

  • Pam and Walter are such excellent hosts! They were able to take a same day reservation and communicated well. It's the best tiny house I've stayed in. Cute porch and great kitchen with all the pots, pans, plates and even some fresh spices and EVOO. You can tell the hosts pay attention to the smallest of details. I'd definitely plan to come back!

  • Pam and Walt are amazing hosts, very kind and truly welcoming. Their cottage is perfect, has everything one could hope for and is perfectly located in the midst of nature, next to a beautiful creek. We went hiking following Walt's suggestion along the nearby Appalachian Trail along the river; highly recommended. The whole stay could not have been better. One of our most enjoyable Airbnb trips.

A quiet retreat near open fields with grazing sheep and forested hillsides, our house is only two hours from New York City, but feels like it’s in the middle of Vermont. Scenic drives, cool shops and galleries, and delightful restaurants are scattered throughout the quaint, historic towns of the Litchfield Hills. We have a large, rambling, country colonial in rural NW Connecticut, close to hiking, biking, swimming, boating and skiing. The house is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land and minutes from Mohawk State Forest and Ski Area, the Housatonic River, and abundant lakes, back roads and nature preserves. Area private schools--Hotchkiss, Kent, Salisbury, Marvelwood and Indian Mountain—are within a 20 minute drive. Great Barrington, Massachusetts and Berkshire attractions are 35-45 minutes away. We can direct you to great spots for plein air painting, or offer you a quiet space to work. Hiking, biking, paddling and skiing (x-c and downhill) information is also available. Cozy bedrooms are in their own wing with two separate staircases. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and one with two single beds. Two bathrooms are adjacent to the bedrooms. This listing is for the twin bedroom with an adjacent bathroom. There are two other bedrooms available with separate listings. Families of 4-7 people can be comfortably accomodated. A single size airbed is available for a child in their parents' room.
  • Amelia is a tremendously welcoming person. Her home is clean and comfortable nestled in a beautiful, quiet setting. I would love to stay here again!

    Jaye2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for one night at Amelias place and we enjoyed our visit very much. Although we arrived late, we have been warmly welcomed by Amelia. She was very helpful finding a dinner place to eat. She also offered us her kitchen to use, which was kind. The sorroundings are beautiful and there are nice little towns nearby to visit. We even passed one of the only two covered bridges in Connecticut, which are both nearby.

    Kathrin2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amelia was very kind and welcoming. She took the time to describe the various hiking trails in the area and how to get there, and where to eat. Her property is very quiet and peaceful, much appreciated for our little getaway! We actually didn't spend much time at her house because we were busy hiking and seeing the sites, but the stay at night was very comfortable, especially with our own bath.

    Emily2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Amelia's place for 2 nights while traveling for business. My assistant and I both loved the adorable, vintage-inspired decor of the house. The beds were comfortable, shower was great, and in the mornings Amelia helped us make breakfast — the final morning she even made us a delicious frittata. The quarters we stayed in were up a separate set up stairs with a lot of privacy. I didn't get much cell reception here but the wifi worked great. I loved staying at Amelia's and will definitely stay here again when passing through the area. Thanks, Amelia!

    Julie2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay at Amelia's house. The place is really quiet and calm, and we felt so welcome by Amelia and his family. I definitely recommand.

    Guillaume2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amelia was a gracious host. Her home was warm and inviting, and the room was set up ideally for guests. We only stayed for a night, but it was as advertised and ideal for us.

    Silas2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This review should count twice, because I stayed at Amelia's last year, but given my newness to airbnb I didn't realize I had a time frame to write a review, thus missing out on my chance to tell the world how great my experience was. Amelia was awesome. Communication was top-notch. The place was cozy, clean and as-described. And was in the beautiful rolling hills of northwestern CT. The value in and of itself is all right there. I enjoyed it so much for my stay last year, that I made sure to book accommodations again this year. Amelia's lodging exceeded my expectations again. I am looking forward to next year's stay.

Built by the Amish, this wonderful cabin was just built last spring! Along with its rural country location, there are great distant mountain views. Be our guests to enjoy the lake for swimming! Come explore the country roads, trails to hike, a farm stand close by for fresh veggies and even a nearby Geocache to find. What a great retreat for those seeking to just get away from the everyday hustle and unwind.
Remember to bring your hotspot if you wish to have internet access. There is a satellite dish for TV/movies and a DVD player if you bring some movies of your own. Games and magazines also available. If you like to cook, the cabinets have assorted staples and fresh farm eggs are in the refrigerator. Assorted pots and pans are also available. There also is a BBQ grill too! There is a full bathroom with shower. Assorted towels and wash clothes are available for you along with some toiletries. Just want to relax...... sit back and unwind on the screened front porch which has the best seat around for watching the sunsets. There also is an outdoor dining set and some chairs should you want to enjoy the sun. Don't be surprised if you see a deer or wild turkeys! They love to visit.
Our cabin is located in North Cornwall which I personally think is one of the most beautiful sections of Cornwall. It still has been left unspoiled and small family farms still maintain the endless farm fields. The cabin sits on a former farm field and overlooks cows grazing in a nearby pasture and Cream Hill Lake. Nearby are Cornwall Land Trust trails to hike (some with amazing views!). Just a short drive away.... area attractions include the Historic Covered Bridge, Music Mountain, Lime Rock Park, Clark Outdoors for river kayaking and canoeing adventures, local restaurants, country markets, Mohawk Mountain, and nearby Infinity Hall in Norfolk.
  • This is the type of place you go to when you're ready to put clients, neighbors, stakeholders, johnny's homework, and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) on hold; when you deserve a break from being selfless, from helping everyone else and their pet parakeet. You won't find a whole lot here, no neighbors in sight, no light, air, or noise pollution, and most of all, no busy. It's where my wife and I came to relax, to breathe. Our only neighbor was Mother Nature, and much like our host, Maria, she was the most nurturing. Besides the countless generous accommodations, and down-home touches that Maria left for us, what we also uncovered was a spark, the very spark that ignited our romance and brought us to this very point in time. It was just myself, my wife, God's creatures, the nighttime stars, fresh rural air, endless amazing views, and BBQ. Sanctuary.

    Tony2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is truly "(SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)-worthy." So cute, comfortable, very clean, and charming. It is a snug little place -- definitely would be tough for more than two people to stay here. But for a couple looking for some peace and quiet, it's perfect! The front porch faces a lovely view of hills and a sunset. There are but windows letting in lots of light and allowing occupants to view some of the area's wildlife. There is a flock of turkeys that likes to roam around outside -- fun to watch. Maria left lots of goodies from local farmers markets and fresh eggs -- delicious! We had a lovely time here.

    Christie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Quiet, clean, comfortable plus such a private and peaceful location. Thanks Maria!

    Weston2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Maria's place was secluded with gorgeous views and complete privacy. The beach is a short drive (3 mins..) away. The lake is used by many folks in the community and is as scenic as you can imagine. The house is well-equipped with all you might need for grilling and cooking. The a/c in the bedroom is fantastic and the rest of the house catches a great breeze from the screened-in windows all being opened at once! All in all, the home is beautifully appointed and well taken-care of in a quiet location you'll want to come back to often. Enjoy your stay!

    Phil2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • As a host, Maria is in a league of her own. Communication was effortless, the cabin was immaculate and her thoughtful extra touches made it such a memorable experience.

  • This is an amazingly beautiful place with an unbelievable view. Close to a quiet lake for swimming and surrounded by beautiful nature. The house was impeccably clean and filled with delicious treats. Comfortable bed and chairs for lounging. It is completely private and a real quiet getaway where all you will hear is the birds. Beautiful starry night sky, amazing sunsets. We will definitely be coming back, hopefully soon!

  • The listing describes the home as "free of normal stress" and "Roughing it in style"; nothing could be more accurate. My wife and I had a great time, and we look forward to visiting the home again. Our experience did not feel like a commercial cabin experience, but rather a true trip into the wilderness. Would recommend to anyone that wants to genuinely be out in the wild.

    Joseph2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a great little spot in a nice area. The Appalachian trail is a 5 minute drive, the firepit in front of the cabin is a great spot to relax, and the cabin itself has all the basics. A great little getaway. Bill was very responsive.

    Alex2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had an excellent weekend at Bill's cabin the last weekend of April. My boyfriend and I brought our dog and had a peaceful 2 nights by the river. The cabin had everything we needed - a powerful stove, great water pressure, a small porch, comfy seating and above all provided a quiet escape from city life. We had a campire at night, enjoyed the hammock and loved being just steps from a river where we saw some folks fishing dowstream. The Sharon farm market about 15 minutes from the cabin had great groceries and we liked being far from wifi for a few days. Recommend bringing some CDs and DVDs as cell service/data wasn't always available without roaming. Had fun unplugging with some puzzles and games provided inside the cabin. Bill gave us all the info we needed ahead of time and was sure we had all the phone numbers we needed. We'll definitely consider this cabin again in the future.

    Corrinne2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was wonderful. The location really made it special. It was secluded and peaceful but town was just a short drive away. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill and he's a wonderful host.

    Amanda2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Secluded, charming and clean. We had a fantastic time here for a weekend getaway. Bill was so helpful with local tips and suggestions, and even left freshly picked apples for us. Comes with a full kitchen including silverware and pans, and a well stocked DVD collection so you never have to leave (if you don't want to). There are plenty of comfortable seating options, and I loved the stuffed animals - they were such a homey touch. Other people were renting the cabin next door and apologized for being loud - but we couldn't hear anything once we were inside (except the sound of the rain!). It's so quiet, and there are trees out every window. I'd recommend bringing a power strip if you have a lot of electronics to charge at once by your side at night. We found enough outlets, but it meant our alarm clocks were out of reach.

This renovated train station features a large, high-ceilinged atelier and comfortable living area. Perfect for artists or sportsmen, it's located on the Housatonic River- a peaceful spot immortalized by James Thurber and in photos by Walker Evans.
This historic 1880s train depot is located in the quiet town of Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut, about two hours' drive north of Manhattan. The two large downstairs rooms feature feature high ceilings, plenty of light and stunning woodwork. Wonderful for an artist or photographer, this space can be used as a studio, or simply as a relaxing living room. The adjoining open, modern kitchen has a full refrigerator and freezer, oven and dishwasher. The renovated second floor, which has gables and beautifully angled walls, has two sunny bedrooms and an office with a working fireplace. The Weber BBQ grill is perfect for outdoor cooking. There are one and a half bathrooms; the upstairs bathroom has a shower in an antique claw-foot bathtub. Renowned for fly fishing, the peaceful Housatonic River is just across the lawn. Mohawk Ski Area is ten minutes away and other ski areas north on route 7 in Mass.

From rafting, fishing, hiking and cycling, to quaint local restaurants and antiquing, you'll want to stay more than a weekend! Lime Rock Race Track is also close by.
  • Sebastian was very welcoming and had someone meet us at the house to welcome us and show us around. He also left us a lovely bottle of bubbly in the fridge!

  • The depot hours is a warm, comfortable and very unique getaway location. The train goes by once a day on weekdays, reminding you of its history. The bedrooms and upstairs sitting room with fireplace overlook the river where it's not uncommon to see a kayaker float by. It's a short walk to the trail to Breadloaf Mountain, a very nice short hike that connects with the AT, and just three miles from Kent Falls, one of the prettiest waterfalls in Connecticut. The house is well equipped and really a great place for a large family event (why we were there). Sebastian has done a really nice job with it and makes sure that guests have what they need. My wife and I really enjoyed staying there. Hyde and Robin Post, St. Simons Island, Georgia. Show original message

  • We traveled in mid-May and when driving up to the exterior, we weren't sure if we had the right place. But once you get inside, oh my, it was beautiful and huge! Simply gorgeous and really well done in preserving the original aspects while providing today's comforts (wi-fi, etc). Easily one of the best experiences I've had so far. Sebastian is an excellent host and we had more than everything we needed. The train went by twice, which was very cool. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

    Liz2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great - straight out of a Wes Anderson filmset; it was very spacious and well heated for 4 people and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The house is a 10min drive from the nearest town but there is a General Store/Liquor Store within 5-10 mins walking. Sebastian was very accommodating and helpful in terms of recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

    Aaron2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The train station is truly a unique experience. It is so cool to step back in time each time you enter the house. I went with my two children and although the stair case is a bit steep, we all had plenty of room. The tracks near the house are live and we had an 11pm visitor one night but it was a cool experience for the kids!

    Loren2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • No pictures can do the depot justice! It was bigger than we expected. We relaxed on the couches in the main room reading, spent the days driving around and exploring all the small towns, had a great meal at the White Horse Pub in New Preston next to the fire. Sebastian was great to communicate with and was very easy to get in touch with if we needed anything. All in all a great relaxing getaway!

  • Utter country perfection! We could not have asked for better hosts than Libby & Jim. Communicating with them to arrange arrival and departure times was a breeze. The house is everything one would want out of a country stay: beautiful views of the Housatonic Valley, a spacious room with a comfortable bed and its own deck, and a large bathroom with a first rate shower. The bedroom is especially quiet and private in its own corner of the house. The bed and sheets made for an especially long, deep sleep. You can tell how much attention Libby & Jim have put into every aspect of the house, and it is complemented by their warm, gracious hospitality. Since we plan to return to the Northwest corner of Connecticut again, staying at Libby & Jim's is a no-brainer.

This is an outdoor wonderland, deer, bear, fox, coyote, bobcats, and more to be seen There are wonderful villages near by, and good restaurants, a movie house, a summer theater, and music mountain which is a summer treat
The space is elegant, but rustic, work in progress so to speak, but clean and well built, very spacious, and usually quiet, though in the summer we are near Lime Rock Race Track, and you can hear the cars on days they are racing or training.
Our neighborhood is safe, good friendly neighbors and miles of walking space, on road or through woods, we are on the apalacian trail as well
  • The farm was a fantastic place to stay, for the adults and kids. My 5 and 4 year old roamed free, learned about the animals and got a sense of independence they don't get to have in the city. The house met all of our basic needs, which is all we needed for our weekend away. The area around the house has beautiful hikes and Corinne and David are fantastic about giving recommendations. Over all a great family weekend!

    Marina2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is my favorite airbnb experience. The added enjoyment of Corrine's animal sanctuary makes this a very special place. If you have a child in your group who loves animals this is definitely the place to stay.

    Inness2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is huge! It was only two of us, but we had room for a ton more who could have their own spots and relax anywhere on the farm. Cell reception is spotty here, but wicked fast Wifi makes up for that. The horses and goats all roam the farm during the day, which was a nice surprise to wake up to. Corinne and David were lovely hosts, and I'm glad I had a chance to chat with them before I left. Great stay, totally worth it.

    Lauren2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of space and the farm has an interesting history. Had a great stay.

    Alison2017-10-15T00:00:00Z

    Gilbert2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • David and Corinne were warm and welcoming. Time Out Foundation really is a special place. The house is right on the farm, and you wake up to roosters crowing, a horse right outside your window, Patrick the friendly duck, and truly beautiful surroundings. If you love animals, rustic scenery, the country, or the outdoors, you have to check out the farm. I look forward to being on the farm again soon. David & Corinne, thank you for everything!

    Jordan2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real life working farm. Horses, goats, ducks, roosters and dogs all living in harmony. The house is big and with the exception of a microwave had everything we needed for our stay. David and Corinne were great hosts and were always a text msg or phone call away. We will definitely go back!

  • My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Avele's. I love the rustic charm of the farm house in combination with the modern amenities and comfortable set up. Firstly, the surrounding area is gorgeous! We arrived in the middle of the night, so was absolutely stunned by the view. From the back of the house, gorgeous wooded area on fire with fall colors, and a small lake. We had many peaceful morning sipping coffee from the picnic area while our boys play. Secondly, we were expecting a cozy place, but it is a BIG house. Plenty of room for our family of four. On the ground floor there is a large dining room that fits 6–8, super comfy living room with TV, Netflix, Amazon, and a kitchen has all the modern amenities, all the tools and gadgets (including a blender!). The ground floor bathroom has a shower. The top floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath. We spent a lovely six days there in the country. Went traipsing to the surrounding towns and even all the way to Great Barrington. The house has easy access to grocery stores so we were able to cook dinners and breakfasts at home. Thanks, Avele, we will be back!

    Lia2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful house in a beautiful location, close to hiking and other beautiful outdoor locations. The property was gorgeous, and we had some wonderful meals outside on the picnic table. The house was right on a busy road, which was less than ideal - the area seems like a hot spot for motorcyclists. Also, the kitchen was lacking some essentials for cooking, so if you plan on cooking, plan to bring your own things. We had children, and there was a terrific tree swing and lots of toys - they loved it! Our dog was very happy too, with a big field to run around in the back... you just have to make sure you do not have children or a dog that wander because of the road. The house was very clean and well maintained. The area was beautiful - we had a great time at the Town Grove lake, and also at the Audubon Sanctuary nearby. Plenty of restaurants too. Overall, a terrific spot to spend a weekend, and the hosts Avele and Eleanor were very response. Thanks for everything!

  • Katie's house is absolutely wonderful. Two friends and I were looking for a quiet place to stay for the weekend and the house didn't disappoint. The pictures can't do the place justice. It's a charming old house and Katie has done a great job keeping it up. The beds are comfortable, the linens were clean, and the kitchen had whatever you could want if you wanted to cook. I got so much reading done in the mornings while drinking coffee and sitting in the kitchen! It's a peaceful place. Katie was a stellar host. She replied to messages quickly, check-in and out was easy, and her recommendations for local coffee and food were great. Bob, the caretaker who looks after the place when Katie is gone, was called out to the house after we accidentally set off the alarm in the middle of the night (completely our fault) and it's worth saying that he was incredibly nice and helpful. Everything about our stay at Katie's was exceptional. We were sad to leave and would highly recommend Katie's house.

    Matthew2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Katie's beautiful home was a dream. We arrived at the house, an antique farmhouse of New England style, which was ensconced in blooming hydrangeas, and whose neat stone, and brick-lined paths wind invitingly around the house and felt like we had stepped into the pages of the Secret Garden. The house did not disappoint in any way, shape or form and our stay here was golden. Katie has appointed the rooms beautifully and tastefully from top to bottom with crisp bed linens, Turkish towels, and a blend of old and new furniture pieces in keeping with the feel of this genteel, centuries-old farmhouse. She was generous and thoughtful in all of the details, from decor to utility, and has obviously put care into the preservation of this house which has wide wooden floorboards and original iron door latches on almost all the doors black-smith-fashioned. The house itself easily accommodated our family of four (with room for more), both younger and older, and featured space for everyone to spread out comfortably as well as places to gather, including a breakfast nook, a screened in porch with room to both curl up with a book and where we ate several meals, a moss-covered, flagstone patio with a BBQ and outside dining table where we ate several other meals, multiple bedrooms and a well-proportioned, sociably sized kitchen. We stayed in watching movies on the day it rained--Netflix and DVD and Wifi are all available for those who need to be connected. We cooked all our meals in the well-equipped kitchen--we typically spend serious time in the kitchen and found nearly nothing wanting here! (Grocery stores small and large are all nearby.) We spent the sunnier days outdoors on the lawn playing croquet or soccer and generally enjoying the relaxing and verdant scenery that this beautiful property offered at every turn. The kids wanted to swim so we found a small lake at Mt. Tom, a state park in Litchfield just 30 minutes away, where they could swim and hike etc. As far as hosts, Katie was all you could ask for. While she wasn't on or near the property, she connected us with her caretaker and was generally available to quickly answer any questions or address our needs as they arose. We felt very much taken care of and free to fully relax and enjoy being out of the city--thank you again for everything Katie! We will certainly be back for another visit in the future!

  • Katie‘s house is simply magical. It is a wonderful place to go if you like historical homes, beautiful scenery and a relaxing setting. We enjoyed reading on the porch, cooking in the kitchen and exploring the nature surrounding the place. I would highly recommend this location and home, particularly in the fall with a lot of fall activities nearby. The house had everything you needed and was beautifully decorated!

    Sarah2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. So cozy and charming! We used the fireplace every night, cooked in the kitchen, and played with the dog in the backyard. We've stayed in the area several times, but this location is great. It's an easy drive up to Great Barrington, lots of cute towns nearby, nice markets for local goodies, and beautiful scenery. We had a perfect fall weekend getaway. We even had snow flurries on our last morning — lovely!

Clifton makes the best homemade rustic bread for breakfast and delicious coffee which we enjoyed thoroughly. He was also very helpful regarding questions. The beds were extremely comfortable. Great area, surrounding nature! Highly recommend!

  • It was amazing. We had a perfect place for a getaway. Terry was all the time in touch. Also, we loved Bob, he told us some nice stories about the area. Terry and Bob recommended us some nice restaurants and also they had everything ready at home for us. Like the hot tub, and the fire pit. We loved the house. It felt like we were in an antique store, but at the same time felt like a cozy home. During the night we enjoy the stars and the silence of nature. My friends and I are definitely coming back. Thank you Terry and Bob.

  • There was some confusion around my reservation (I think they forgot) and the host was not prepared for my arrival. I wound up staying in the RV even though I had been offered a queen in the house. The RV was not ready for a guest in any way. Terry was very apologetic and we worked things out after my stay.

    Ken2015-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy to find and a wonderful trip to see the fall foliage. Terry let me use her shed to help set up my projection equipment and we watched a movie on the side of her barn.

    Rebecca2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful place! A wedding in Lakeville brought us here. We arrived to a welcoming note on the door, a warm house, comfortable backyard complete with firepit, comfy seating and hot tub (but it was raining!). Terry left notes for us around the house to make us feel comfortable. The kitchen was adorable and completely stocked to make us feel even more at home. The house is filled with memorabilia from Terry and her Dad's racing history. The front bedroom is a little tight for two people to get dressed so next time I'd ask for the back room. We were alone in the house so Terry did encourage us to sleep where we wanted and even to invite our friends to the hot tub! I highly recommend staying here. We originally wanted to stay in the RV but it was too cold. Terry was quick to get us better situated...the RV looks nice though for another time.

This is my home, but I'm happy to share it. It is simple, but comfortable, and has what you need for a relaxing vacation in the country. There are two bedrooms, a finished basement, a living room in the upstairs loft and the porches are 3-season living spaces - with rocking chairs and a full dining table. There is off-street parking for several cars. No smoking anywhere on the premises, please.
This property is in the middle of one of Litchfield County's most beautiful valleys, bounded by the Housatonic State Forest and the Appalachian Trail on the east and by Red Rocks Mountain, protected by the Sharon Land Trust, on the west. Lime Rock Park* is at the lower end of the valley; an Audubon nature preserve is at the top. Small farms, historic homes and long views to distant hills fill the spaces in between. *If you're not a race car fan, please check the Lime Rock website for event schedules. It can get loud here when the cars are running. But they do not run after 6pm nor on Sundays.
  • We just came back from a wonderful long weekend at Red Rocks Cabin. The cabin itself is warm and welcoming. There's a great, modernized kitchen. Two large rooms, a loft (for sleeping or lounging), a basement (for sleeping or playing ping pong!) and two porches that extend the living area. We grilled every night and ate dinner outside. The only regret is that it rained the night we were going to sit around the firepit to make s'mores (with the marshmallows that Douglas left for us!). The area is beautiful and there are many activities. We went to several different local lakes and a pick your own farm. Douglas was an impeccable host and great communicator. He provided tons of information and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We would come back any time!

  • Our stay this second year at Red Rock Cabin was even better than last year! Our grandsons, 5 & 7, were with us this year and they think Doug is so lucky to get to live in his cabin! They did not want to leave, especially after making the s'mores Doug left for them. We will definitely be back!!

  • Our host Douglas was fantastic! Douglas communicated continuously with us throughout our stay, and made sure we had everything we needed, and Douglas made our getaway feel safe, secure and more importantly, right at home! It was definitely a great getaway from our past-paced lifestyle, and was just what my family and I needed. Douglas' cabin was quiet, comfy and away from everything, and we loved it. There were mosquitoes, but nothing a little bug spray can fix. The dinning table on the porch was used for both nights we stayed, and was just lovely. I will definitely be making plans to come back again!

  • This is the perfect get away spot; in the country, quaint log house with everything you could want or need right down to the fire pit & ping pong table. Great porches for cooking out & entertaining!!!! 5 stars all the way!!!

  • Douglas' correspondence with me was always cordial, making us feel his warmth. He was accommodating in that he encouraged our use of whatever was in the cupboards and/or refrigerator, with instructions that it was not necessary to replace any of it. He left us without restrictions of any kind.

  • Douglas couldn't have made us feel more welcome and comfortable at the Red Rocks Cabin! The home was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. He even had an extra AC unit installed just for our stay during a particularly hot weekend! Thanks so much Douglas!

The listing is for the guest house, separate from the main house. It includes a loft with one bed, private bathroom, kitchenette, refrigerator, and private porch. The main house is a masterfully renovated 1789 home set on top of a mountain that overlooks a pond and field. Surrounded by woods, colonial homes, wineries, and quaint towns. There are close ski resorts (Mohawk Mountain, Ski Sundown) and craft breweries that I love!
This is a loft with high beam ceilings, a small kitchenette, and a private screened in balcony overlooking the pond and barn. Guests have a private entrance and access to the gardens leading to the pond. This property has 8 acres of beautiful forest with birch trees, ferns, and a brook to hike through. The loft is equipped with cooking supplies, spices, coffee pot, Flat screen, and breakfast treats. If you need laundry done, just let me know in advance (not currently suitable for events).
There is access to skiing resorts, high quality spa's, golf courses, New York City and the ocean within 2 hours! This house is secluded but in the center of culture, outdoor activities, and city life! When you are ready to get out, drive over to Kent to enjoy the galleries, boutiques, restaurants, shops and farmers' market. Or find your way to Macedonia State Park, the Appalachian Trail or Kent State Falls for a hike up and down the hills and waterfalls.
  • If you are looking for a secluded, quiet weekend, this is a great place! The loft and farmhouse are quaint and charming. Andrea was really responsive and helpful. Overall, this was a great getaway for my husband and I and we really enjoyed our stay.

  • Andrea was a great host! She was friendly and attentive - even brought over a few extra thing we needed to make dinner. This was the perfect post-wedding weekend getaway. We loved staying here, and hope to be back again!

  • We had a nice stay at Andrea's place. It was rustic, cozy and peaceful. A great weekend away. Andrea has a lot of great recommendations about the area and she had cookies ready for us when we checked-in. Thanks for the hospitality Andrea.

Renovated cozy cabin (orig 1930s) with modern facilities. 2 bedrooms, new kitchen & bathroom, overlooking a beautiful private brook and forested hills. Minutes drive to the general store & Kent Falls, 10 minutes from fantastic restaurants, Mohawk Ski Resort & summer activities like swimming & kayaking. Great hiking trails and close to the Appalachian Trail. High speed internet, Netflix, a deck with outdoor seating. Note: Fireplace isn't currently working.
The picturesque Cornwall Bridge community was incorporated in 1780 and lies alongside the Housatonic River in North-west Connecticut. The neighbouring communities house quaint covered bridges and beautiful state parks.
  • This was a stunning weekend retreat! First, the home: Very stylishly decorated - the pictures are an excellent representation - with a gorgeous view of the creek right off the front deck. We especially appreciated all the little touches, like the hammock by the water and a grill with charcoal. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plenty of utensils and dishes, kettles, and a variety of kitchen appliances. A cupboard also has many basics, such as olive oil, salt, and flour. There is a washer dryer, which would have been very helpful if we had stayed longer. The nest heating system and Apple TV made the cabin feel like a modern oasis in a rural setting. Second, the location: The cabin is very close to a variety of hiking trails. We personally enjoyed Pine Knob loop trail, which had some excellent views of the fall foliage. You're also quite close to Kent Falls, which is lovely for an afternoon picnic. There are several towns nearby with coffee shops and antiquing. Finally, the host: Thomas was extremely detailed and timely with his responses. While we never got to meet him in person, I feel confident that he would have been quick to help with any issues a guest might face.

    Kelly2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved this charming place. Clean and comfortable. Thomas was very communicative and a great host. The town and a surrounding areas had a lot of nice options for things to do and places to go. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing and relaxing weekend. Cabin is a little hard to find at night but very peaceful and clean. Close to hiking and market (all in a 2 mile drive from the cabin). Will definitely stay again. Thank you Thomas.

    David2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Thomas's home, as described by my daughter, is "magical." The woods, the brook, and the scenery are exceptional. Thomas's home is welcoming and comfortable and Thomas was helpful and easy to reach; working with him was seamless. We stayed for a month and hope to return again some day.

    Nancy2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas' house in Cornwall was perfect! The location is super easy to get to, the house sits on the top of the hill with beautiful outlook to the river that my kids went to play every morning. The house had all convenience and comfort of city life style, in a country side location surrounded by nature and great things to do, such as blueberries picking, biking, fishing. I will definitely go back!

    Maria2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our 2 weeks at Thomas's cabin. It's so beautiful and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. The cabin is cozy and very tastefully decorated. We felt right at home. This particular part of CT we had never stayed in before, but it's so charming! Nearby Kent is a lovely town, and the hiking trails within a 5 minute's drive of the cabin were perfect for getting our outdoor fix. The brook is beautiful and we even saw a heron on two different occasions fishing for his breakfast! Very picturesque, we highly recommend staying at Thomas's place!

    Jessica2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was everything we expected and more! Super easy check in. Very appreciative.

    Dylan2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay if you're just looking to relax and be surrounded by nature. Reading in the hammock by the brook in the morning was so relaxing, and looking at the stars from the deck was great. Close to some great hiking, and great food in Kent. If you just need to get away for a few days and enjoy the outdoors, you can't go wrong.
