Places to stay in Windsor
A quiet country setting: two miles of dirt road lead to our house from the nearest paved road. We are surrounded by 1000 acres of land conserved by The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (SPNHF). We oversee the open spaces: cattle graze in the pasture and forage crops are grown in the fields in the summer, and maple sap is gathered in the early spring. SPNHF conducts forest research and harvests timber in the wooded areas. Hiking & non-motorized activities are permitted.
Our 1790’s post-and-beam farmhouse has wide-board, uneven, creaky floors upstairs and old, patched, mixed narrow and wide pine board floors downstairs. Original hand-hewn 25-foot hemlock beams—the width of the house—highlight the ceiling in the kitchen-dining room. Bedrooms are small, cheery, and comfortable. None has a separate closet, but door-racks, bureaus, shelves, and/or cabinets provide space for clothes. The “Blue Room”, so-called because of the blue-edged handmade quilt, is a small cozy, single-brass-bed room on the second floor. It is ideal for a hiker or biker who spends his/her time outdoors and wants a comfortable corner to lay his/her head for a good night’s sleep. The three upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom; downstairs bedroom has its own. All twin mattresses are new and very comfortable, covered with country-patterned quilts made by our niece. Being back in the hills, we have no TV, slow internet, and dubious cell reception. We do have a land line with unlimited free U.S. long distance, available to guests. We have a big selection of DVD & VHS movies, and the “Purple Room” has an old TV set that plays DVDs and VHS movies. We have hundreds of books.
There are miles of country dirt roads to explore on foot or by bike. One 3-mile road leads directly to New Hampshire’s only National Park, The Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, open May through October. Kimball Union Academy, a college-preparatory school, is 6 miles away. The Cornish-Windsor bridge, the longest wooden covered bridge in the country, is 5.8 miles away. We are 18 miles south of both Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Two country stores, one 5.9 miles away, the other 4.3 miles, have gas, good delis, and friendly, local ownership. There is a supermarket 6.8 miles away in Windsor, VT (across the famous covered bridge).
  • Great place, extremely gracious and warm host.

  • I loved staying at Margaret's place! I had no trouble at all navigating to the house with Apple Maps. The house is lovely, and the location—a quiet, picturesque pasture at the end of the road—is unbeatable.

    Colin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great value in a quiet out of the way spot, secluded and gorgeous.

    Ben2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay and enjoyed the drive to the place as well. Peaceful and pleasant. Margaret is a great host and always welcoming with a great smile.

  • This place is not for everyone but for me, it was a perfect stay even though the power went out the last day I was there. I don't mind roughing it and Margaret made things as painless as possible. It's a perfect place to get away from the noise of the world including the internet! Beautiful fall colors. I wish I had more time to go for a hike around the property but I had a packed schedule. Enjoyed visiting with Margaret and her brother and learning the history of the home. Directions are superb but I would recommend arriving before the dark the first day. Margaret will meet you and guide you in if necessary. I did find the stairs a little steep for my older body but I managed. No breakfast food provided but had the use of the fridge and kitchen.

    Katherine2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Margaret's place while doing a trip to the area to see the fall foliage. Communication before the visit was great. Very clear instructions are given to her house beforehand due to possible signal problems. I saved the area as an offline map on google maps beforehand and was able to find it with no problems. Margaret and her brother are delightful conversationalists with some very interesting stories and anecdotes. I felt more than welcome as company, but was also comfortable retreating to my room. The lack of signal and wifi let me do a proper 'getaway from technology' night which I thoroughly enjoyed . The wifi was strong enough to text and with everything combined, I felt safe as a solo traveller. I also took the opportunity to walk around the vast land in the morning and ran into her delightful herd of cows. All in all, it was a great stay and I would definitely try to go back next year.

  • This idyllic farmstead in the woods was the perfect rustic place to rest my weary self after a full day of leaf-peeping in the hills of New Hampshire. Margaret was a gracious host and a delight to chat with. Highly recommended!

    Luis2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret is such an amazing host. Her farmhouse is very charming and the room is so neat and clean. I enjoy the stay in her house very much. Also Margaret is very nice and humble. You will absolutely enjoy your stay there.

  • Lauren’s home and stay was the perfect weekend getaway for my husband and I, and our 18mo. From the communication and the room, to the Alpaca’s and the amazing view (& sunrise). We hope to come again someday and would highly recommend you do too!

    Hannah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, very clean and comfortable. Lauren is wonderful and so are her Alpacas!!

    Vickie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I wish my wife and I were not so tired when we arrived. It would have been great fun to watch and learn more about your beautiful alpacas. The bed in our room was just too comfortable after a long day on the road exploring the region. I hope we will have another chance to return.

    Raymond2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laurens place was all she described it to be and then some. We were comfortable and truly at home as it offered so much. Charming is not a cliché here. We entered the boutique and were greeted by Lauren, Mojo her sweet pug mix, 2 cats and later were introduced to the alpacas. We cannot wait to go back!

    Diane2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lauren's place is absolutely wonderful. She's an absolute marvel of a host. Tea, a lively fireside chat, a lovely, snowy jaunt around the farm. And the rooms were all well appointed and comfortable and beautiful. There's even a sunlit nook for day reading.

    Giovanni2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This location has a ton of character and is gorgeous. Lauren made us feel like a part of the family. We adored Lauren's dog and two cats, and of course the alpacas! We had a great weekend getaway and will definitely book this location again.

  • 1849 Schoolhouse is very comfortable, great design features, clean, and a perfect stay!

    Dan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean house. Much better than it looks. Perfect getaway house.

    Nataliia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! I echo all of the other rave reviews. Lil Red is a cozy, tranquil space, and was perfect for a holiday getaway for me and my husband. I especially appreciated how communicative and flexible the host was. Everything from check-in to check-out was easy and as expected. Hope to be back!

    Chiara2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We love staying here. The easy access to the outdoors, the comfortable and stylish layout and the great kitchen are what draw us back for return visuals.

    Shannon2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Marylnn's place is GREAT for any family or solo traveler. The space is unlike anything I've ever seen and is spectacularly stocked with everything you'll need. If you have anyone who is struggling with stairs do not fear, the first bed room is downstairs as well as a bathroom. There is also a bathroom and bedroom up the stairs for those who are able. The space is not too far away from town and there's a fun llama farm practically next door. We stayed a day after it had snowed and woke up to some moose tracks on the back porch! Very exciting! We ventured down to the creek despite the snow, and had a fabulous time relaxing in the living room and dining area. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook and all the little things you don't think about (like paper towels and coffee filters). a MUST stay in Southern Vermont!

    Kati2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the little red schoolhouse was great. The place is super charming. I visited with my wife and 3 year old son. We had a great time seeing the local area, visiting the farms, and checking out Woodstock for a festival. The place was very clean, well designed and apportioned, and relaxing. We had everything we needed and were comfortable the whole time. The mountain stream out back is beautiful and it was certainly a cozy place to relax on our winter visit. Communication and check-in were a breeze. As other reviews mentioned, it is on the roadway but didn't bother us a bit. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

    Martin2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • I needed a cute, quiet, and comfy place to recharge after a difficult summer and Lil Red Schoolhouse was perfect! Everything was exactly what I needed: close to stuff I wanted to do/see, perfect for just staying in, a kitchen that made cooking a breeze, and the soaker tub! It was freezing cold outside but inside Lil Red it was toasty warm! Exactly what I needed, and I've already shared the listing with my girlfriends who are looking for their own solo getaway spots!

The Artist's Loft is a very comfortable, one-bedroom BnB on our historic, Cornish Arts Colony property. The building is surrounded by woods and lawn on our 36 acre property. The view of Mt. Ascutney across the river and in VT is inspiring. The Artist's Loft is cozy, quiet, and comfortable in all seasons, with Rinnai heating in the cooler and cold months, and an air conditioner in the bedroom for summer. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and a day bed sofa in the living room.
The main house was an 1812 structure which was renovated by the splendid renovations of Boston architect Daniel Appleton in 1890, for the current owner's great Aunt and Uncle Beaman. The house has lovely, large spaces characteristic of Victorian summer houses of the time. The Beamans lived in New York City, but spent summers in "Little New York," as they and their friends called it, in Cornish. Later the summer residents came to be called the Cornish Art Colony, as many artists, writers, and composers sought refuge here from the stultifying summer heat of city life. The Cornish Art Colony flourished from 1882 to 1916; Cornish is nestled along the Connecticut River, which forms the boundary between NH and VT. There are many additional attractions from the Art Colony in our village, including Saint Gaudens' National Historic Site, which is across 12A from this location. The natural beauty is superb, including scenic views of the river, the covered bridge, Mt. Ascutney, and many hiking and walking trails.
Cornish is a quiet village, with no "town" center. The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge, just south of the Butternuts, is the longest two-span covered bridge in North America. The views of Mt. Ascutney from this property are superb. The Cornish boat landing and dock are just south of the property. Across the covered bridge is Windsor, VT, which has a grocery, pharmacy, excellent restaurants, quaint shops, a village green with weekly summer concerts, and the Artisans' Park, with its organic food offerings, canoe and raft rentals, Simon Pearce glassblowing facility, Harpoon Brewery with restaurant. Up Rte 12A from the property is the tax-free shopping of the West Lebanon shopping malls, and Hanover, NH, with Dartmouth College and many additional shops and restaurants. To the west, beyond Windsor, is Woodstock, VT, with its fine stores, restaurants and Pentangle Arts. Just across the river from West Lebanon is White River Junction, VT, which has art shops and craft shops, and is a flourishing arts center, including Northern Stage. Mt. Ascutney has numerous hiking trails, including those to the top, which has spectacular views. . On the hot days in summer, the swimming areas of Hartland dam and Wilder dam in Vermont are a short distance away, and are delightful spots along the Connecticut River. Cornish also has a boat dock on the CT River for kayaks or canoes, and this is just south of our property. The excellent skiing areas on Mt. Sunapee are thirty minutes southwest.
  • Definitely rustic but very clean slept great comfortable bed thank you so much for having your home available

  • I had a great stay at The Buttercups. A beautiful property and Jo is a wonderful host.

    Toni2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a woodsy place full of opportunities to relax in a natural setting. There is a compelling history to the property that shows in the old buildings. Jo makes every effort to see to your comfort. She brought us into the house because of water damage to the loft -- too much rain in New England this year. We shared stories and laughs over toast and jam.

    David2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • What I loved most about this place was our amazing host, Jo. She was so sweet, accommodating for us when arriving very late and she truly made us feel welcomed. The Artist's Loft had everything we needed for a fair price.

  • Jo is a terrific communicator and the artist's loft is a quiet comfortable spot. easy to get to and fully equipped.

  • Perfect place for a moms’ weekend away! Quiet, clean and on an absolutely gorgeous property. We especially loved exploring the cider mill and taking a moonlight walk in the snowy fields. Also, Jamie’s recommendation of Saturday dinner at Skunk Hollow Tavern was perfect. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was quirky Vermont at its liveliest.

    Laura2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Picturesque, tranquil and so relaxing. Jamie provided everything for a wonderful escape in a beautiful cozy cabin. Warm roaring fire, walks on the trails in the snow, and quaint towns a short drive away. I’m already planning a return trip!

    Mary Ellen2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is stunning. It is tucked away in a cozy part of Vermont. Very remote and a perfect to escape the world. There are hiking trails on property and Jamie provided us snowshoes so we could get out and enjoy the surroundings. The fire place was super easy to use and made snuggling up on the couch extra awesome. Despite all the remoteness there are tons of restaurants about 15 minutes away and Jamie gave lots of recommendations.

    Sheila2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin exceeded our expectations. We didn’t want to leave! Gorgeous property and Jamie’s recommendations for food to enjoy in the area were perfect. We had plans to go out all evening and the place was so amazing we sat by the fire, enjoyed the views and played cards instead. We will definitely be back!

Our Farm is close to Skunk Hollow and Hartland, VT, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the outdoor space, the light, the kitchen, and the comfy bed. The farm is home to Fur Should Fly, my online shop, which donates a portion of sales to animal rescues around the country in support of their good work and the animals. Our refreshingly cheeky art includes alpacas, dogs, cats and more on garments, cards, and mugs.
This is a working alpaca farm. We are happy to give you personal introductions to the alpacas while you are staying at the farm. Some of our alpacas like to be hand fed treats. We also have loving rescue animals. Our meals and rooms tax ID number through Air bnb is MRT-10126712 If you are interested in any kayaking/instruction/xc skiing, Bold Paths is happy to accommodate your interests.
  • Our stay at the farm was spectacular! There was heavy ice the night we came in that cancelled our plans, but Lesley came through for us with some fun things to do and definitely made our trip one to remember.

  • Lesley is an interesting, open person who very obviously enjoys hosting people in her home. I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed I felt to be sharing space with folks I didn't know (hadn't done that since college!) and I believe that is due in no small part to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere Lesley has created in her home. I look forward to staying there again. Thanks, Lesley, for a peaceful and very comfortable stay!

  • Wonderful rooms in a charming home on a whimsical alpaca farm, what more could you ask for! Lesley is a fabulous host that does a great job making you comfortable as possible. I will definitely be returning!

  • The cabin on the hill is a wonderful location for a get away. Charming, cozy and quiet. Julie was a great host! The place has thoughtful touches and great cabin style. We hope to return!

    Cara2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot. Very clear directions. 5-10 min hike up to the cabin but you have it all to yourself. Wonderful space and great furnace. Romantic and fun!

    Jack2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a wonderful wonderful spot. Julie’s cabin is nestled on top of a hillside in bucolic Vermont just a short drive from Woodstock. The cabin had everything you need for a weekend of a glamping: outdoor stove, a little dishwashing station, an outhouse, a tiny cabin with a cozy woodstove, a fire pit, and plenty of views and hiking trails. We loved every minute and hope to be back soon!!

    Caroline2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we wanted! The hike up the hill was a little bit of a hike. Sneakers are the best bet. Very private and peaceful. Thank you again!! !

    Michael2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just lovely. Super private and the wood stove kept the place pretty toasty despite the fall chill setting in! Would love to come back again.

    Juliana2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for an off grid experience. The stove keeps the place perfectly warm on a cold evening and cooking and showering outdoors was such a novelty. Would recommend for a short stay !

    Jake2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in the woods! Fully equipped cabin, nothing need to bring appart food. He even had coffee and logs at our disposal! Good workout to get there, but very well indicated, little advice do not arrive in the dark!

    Amélie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's cabin is fantastic! The location is very cool -- it feels like you're completed secluded and off-grid in the hills of Vermont. The cabin itself is perfectly rustic. Great for relaxing and taking in the great outdoors.

  • Wow! We could not have been happier with our stay! From the moment we connected with Marty and Mark on Airbnb all the way to the end of our stay, we were so pleased! We have stayed in many airbnbs all over the world, but we can say that we've never had a better experience especially with them as the hosts. Their home is beautiful! And they are both beautiful people! The cleanliness of their cabin was a pleasant surprise. Their entire farm is clearly a source of great pride, and it shows! They accommodated us in such a kind manner by taking care of our dogs, helping us acclamate to this area and even making sure we can get to work if the weather was bad! We are traveling nurses from Nebraska and have never been to this area before. During this pandemic, it was pretty scary coming to a new place. But we are pleased to say that now we have two friends in Vermont! This cabin is highly recommended by us in so many ways. FYI being up in this very isolated paradise comes along with difficult phone service, not to any fault of the hosts. But just to be aware! Wi-Fi was not a problem though and they have a landline that can easily be used.p

    Courteney2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • To say that Marty and Mark, along with their beautiful home, are welcoming is an understatement. From booking to check out, the experience was fantastic! 11/10 would recommend!

    Artem2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • So many positive things to say, I don’t know where to start! Perfect hosts, perfect setting, perfect cabin ... all around great! If you’re looking for something off the beaten path to unwind and relax, Mark and Marty’s is a great choice! They’re super friendly, are happy to actively engage with you, or give you peace and quiet. Their set up is perfect for both. The cabin is quaint and instantly feels like home. Horse lovers especially will be in heaven! I can’t wait to go back with my boys.

    Chris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time with Marty and Mark at their amazing cabin! First off, travelling with two young boys and a dog is never relaxing but they were so caring and kind that we were able to actually unwind and enjoy things. The cabin itself has everything you need (sleds and room to run outside, too) and it's warm, cozy and clean. Marty and Mark are great sources of local knowledge and they steered us in the right directions for some perfect day trips. Marty even helped out with our dog so we could stay out longer and enjoy the area more. Vermont is so much more than crowded ski resorts and the Cowshed Cabin is the perfect place to explore from. We had an amazing time and we'll definitely be back!

    Nigel2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful, there are horses everywhere you turn on the road in and the views are outstanding. Marty and Mark are fantastic hosts and go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. Location was perfect for us and our dog Mac. We will definitely be back!!

    Nick2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy cabin; super thoughtful hosts. It's a wonderful spot for a winter weekend. Pictures make the space seem smaller than it is, though—be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

    Andrew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Marty and Marks place was picture perfect. My boys loved sleeping in a cabin, sledding down the hill with the great sleds they provided and taking a bath in the claw foot tub. The cabin was stocked with everything to make our stay comfortable and the location was perfect. The beds were also super comfortable.

  • Sarah was a very hospitable host, though I was only there for a night. She introduced me to her dogs and horses and let me make myself at home. In the morning, there were coffee and muffins ready, which was a nice touch!

    Peter2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place was great to stay at. Her dogs Bam Bam and Mr. Williby were friendly and fun to meet. The location was conveniently close to the ski resorts I was going to also. Sarah also provided a heated blanket for the bed which was a nice touch.

    Kevin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a wonderful host! Highly Recommended.

  • A friendly welcome in spite of me arriving a bid early. Took me for a wonderful hike and gave me a ride down the road. Wish I could have spend more time to enjoy the hospitality, view and overall magic of this place, Thank you Sarah! you are the perfect host, Norbert

    Norbert2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is very friendly and her dogs are so sweet! The room is very clean and comfortable, and the house is quiet and peaceful. It can get chilly, but Sarah provided an electric blanket so the bed was nice and cozy. This is a great location for some peace and quiet near beautiful hiking areas!

    Chelsea2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying with Sarah and that is for a reason -- Sarah is warm and hospitable and give great local tips. I have been to two great restaurants in Ludlow thanks to her advice. And it is always nice seeing the critters. She does indeed have a pony and a horse and two dogs. They are very entertaining! Thanks again, Sarah!!

This is a big beautiful house with a giant backyard and epic views of Mt. Ascutney. Come and enjoy our home, share the peace and beauty of Vermont. This location is central to skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and horse events.
Our house has two large bedrooms available as single private rooms that are priced separately (Two king sized beds). The second bedroom may be reserved through Fire Ridge Farm. Great for people traveling together. FYI we are a solar powerhouse! 45 solar panels on our barn contribute to the electricity needs of our neighbors.
You will be amazed and delighted at the sheer majesty of the surroundings. Our view of Mt. Ascutney is magnificent. The house is private and quiet, with all of the convenience of high speed internet. Soak in the hot tub and watch the Milky Way, satellites and shooting stars in our clear night sky. Listen to the owls at night and the songbirds during the day. Pretty much the perfect Vermont experience.
  • This was our second time at Susan and Ralph’s house for a ski trip with 3 other friends. Very kind people and amazing hospitality. Thank you again guys.

    Jade2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very kinda and hospitable!

    Yuliya2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph were great hosts and very friendly! Their house is beautiful. The hot tub and sauna was a nice treat. They provided great local suggestions. Definitely recommend and would stay again!

    Jessica2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph's apartment was awesome, home-y and relaxing. I had access to the entire downstairs with a private bathroom. Very reasonably priced. Located on a mountain, the home is large, unique and private, yet with all of the modern comforts and easily accessed by main roads. Civilization is not far away at all. My visit in winter was no problem--the electronic flaming fireplace made my room cozy, as did the mattress warmer. They left sweet little touches, like yummy chocolates near my bed and a plush bathrobe to wear. The best aspects were the indoor sauna and the outdoor hot tub; each day upon returning from my professional seminar (the Holiday Inn Conference Center is 4 minutes away), I soaked myself in the clean hot tub (in January!!). Soaking in 100 degree water whilst under the constellations, staring at another mountain was breathtaking! S and R are lovely people who enjoy hosting and meeting people. You will feel at home and have access to all of the riches that VT has to offer by staying here.

    Sandy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan & Ralph are incredibly friendly hosts. We felt so welcomed the moment we arrived. The room was spacious & comfortable & the cherry on top was the jacuzzi outside which we used every day after skiing. Bottom line: the best value & friendliest Airbnb experience!

    Rachel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect for my boyfriend and I on our quick weekend trip to Vermont. We chose this place because it was a cheaper alternative to staying in Woodstock, where we were visiting, but still close enough to drive there reasonably fast. We stayed in the lower floor of the house, which we happened the have to ourselves. The room was spacious and cozy, with a nice electric fireplace and large bed. We only met Susan’s husband, who was a great host to us and was welcoming when we arrived late at night. This home is secluded, and the view of the stars from the hot tub in the back is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. The only suggestion I would make to the hosts is to add a lock on the bedroom door to offer some extra privacy to your guests.

    Kaitlynn2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wished our stay could have been longer. Amazing property with fabulous views of the mountain. Clean, cozy room and lots of special touches added to make you comfortable. Hosts are wonderful. We're coming back for sure!

    Kim2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • There are two rooms available at this property, I stayed in the downstairs room. The bedroom is HUGE. Enjoy a large bed, dresser, TV, pedestal fan, electric fireplace, roll-top desk and a private bathroom just steps away from the room. If you stay here, you are staying with family. Expect a wonderful host in Susan who is more like a relative than a proprietor. I was traveling solo for several days to photograph the fall leaves. I did not expect to interact much with the hosts but found that this was the highlight of my stay. Morning coffee with conversation, moonlit nights in front of a bonfire with her visiting family, she even fed me home made apple crisp and applesauce! I was allowed to use her laundry room and the kitchen for whatever I needed. It was like home away from home.

Enjoy Glamping? Our place is close to Woodstock and Quechee VT and you’ll love our place if you enjoy a natural setting, rustic acres with pond and woods surrounded by old stone walls. Get out and explore the area and come home at night to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We’re experienced innkeepers from The Bissell House Bed & Breakfast in So Pasadena CA. Thanks to all who stayed with us in 2019. We are closed for the season and will reopen mid-June.
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have a kitchen, our outdoor cook station has some basics. These include a 3 burner stove, BBQ grill and smoker, pans, utensils, olive oil and a communal mini fridge. Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as cooler. You may want to bring flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out. Our Curtis Wright is 72 years old and the El Rey is 64 years old. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows etc. that function differently and need upgrading periodically. These are not new modern trailers, they’re vintage! We think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy. Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs. Both trailers are pondside. The El Rey is across the pond from the Curtis Wright. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1947 Curtis Wright. This is our 2nd year to offer the Airstream, please see our other listing of the El Rey for details! That listing is titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” El Rey Glamping. Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of the experience outside your trailer. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please bring whatever you intend to use, or order it from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal and wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle. Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk! Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond. We live up in the house and are available to you as much as you’d like! We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience. We have a new composting toilet outhouse. For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.
We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and the occasional neighbor going past. Wildlife abounds, we do have deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose. Our Phoebe Flycatchers nest and fledge in the summer kitchen annually and you might see the babies learning to fly. We hope our local Barred Owls will be regular visitors again this summer.
  • Great place, Jim and juli are very friendly! Warm welcome and even some wood was brought to us to start a nice fire. Location is awesome!

  • It was SO wonderful being in the peaceful country, in a vintage setting. Thank you Julie!

    Anita2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just MAGICAL. Super welcoming and comfortable. Juli and Jim have clearly thought through dozens of little details to make staying at their place a fanatic experience. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner and had all the pans we needed. The area is very quiet and it was super private and beautiful. There is literally no cell reception anywhere near it unless you go to one of the nearby stores/restaurants. They do have WiFi on location, so just make sure you have your destinations plugged into your GPS while you're at the cabin with the WiFi! This was a wonderful spot, the hosts were really thoughtful and communicative. They made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

    Navyatha2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Juli and Jim’s place is awesome! We probably had the best sleep of the entire trip in their camper. Very comfortable, very quiet, and great amenities. Check in info and directions were very detailed and clear. Great communication.

    Rhonda2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great glamping experience! Juli and Jim were excellent hosts and above and beyond willing to assist. They are in the heart of a number of things to see/do in the area.

  • Kada & her family were great hosts! The space was very clean and well put together. We enjoyed our stay during our Okemo ski trip.

    Brandon2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kada was great from the moment of booking until checking out. Gave us some great recommendations, and it was an easy drive to Okemo Mountain to ski.

    Aj2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kadas place was perfect for a couple days of skiing! Tucked in the woods, extremely cozy, very short and beautiful drive from Okemo!

    Stephen2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming hosts as well as beautifully lit fence/path on way up the driveway. Nice parking spot right outside apartment entrance. Awesome modern/rustic decor. It was a short two night stay for skiing at Okemo which was about 25-30 min away. So nice to come back to this cozy apartment, get warm and rested for the next day . I highly recommend this apartment and host. Hope to be back again

Your private woodlands retreat awaits. Nestled atop a beautiful 10 acre meadow with 25 acres of woods for you to enjoy; this rustic cabin is a perfect romantic hideaway. Two trout ponds are steps from your door for fishing and swimming. Just a few minutes from Mt. Ascutney's hiking and mountain-biking trails and in the middle of fantastic cycling country. Sunset Cabin is a marvelous spot for enjoying fall foliage and exploring Vermont's quaint towns and covered bridges.
This is a magical place. The cabin is comfortable, rustic, and private, with brand new furniture, bedding, and linen. But what's special about it is it's extremely romantic setting overlooking meadows, ponds, gardens, mountains, and woods.
Hiking, mountain-biking, trail running, The Climb (www.theclimbfitness.com) (gym, indoor/outdoor pools) - 2 miles away. Dartmouth College and Hanover - 22 miles away. Year round activities - Okemo resort - 22 miles Killington resort - 33 miles Woodstock - 12 miles Quechee Gorge - 15 miles Harpoon Brewery - 8 miles
  • Well looked after cabin on their property. Beautiful scenery and quick responses to any questions about the area.

  • Sunset Cabin was the perfect place to unplug and relax, but also close enough to several restaurants and local attractions if that is also something you are interested in. We loved enjoying the property with our pups and unwinding at night in the peace and quiet. Can’t wait to enjoy a longer stay next time!

    Annette2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best airbnb I've ever stay with. Great heat, hot shower, amazing property and thoughtful touches throughout the space. It is indeed a magical gateway for us.

    Pei-Yi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quintessential Vermont getaway. The cabin had everything you could need with an added touch of rustic charm. We, along with our pup, enjoyed everything about the space. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy your loved ones and surroundings.

    Becca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest cabin in the world

    Linda2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly what it says on the tin. No hidden surprises. A clean, remote, rustic, quiet, Vermont cabin. Bringing my partner here for a birthday weekend I was looking for somewhere the complete opposite of our current home in Boston and centralized to good food, good hiking, and good ... farm-going. This provided all of that and more. Highest possible recommendation for any couple looking to get away from the city and enjoy time in nature. Don't miss the Harpoon brewery up the road or the Path of Life Garden. Mt. Ascutney has tons of ascents, including driving, so can be as hard or easy as you like. Quechee Gorge is around the corner, as are tons of farms... Really, Sunset Cabin is the perfect getaway.

    Andrew2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was wonderful! My pup and I had an awesome time running free and exploring the property. The cabin is so charming and cozy, my fiancée is jealous she missed it so we’re planning a return trip!

    Connor2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sunset Cabin is an absolute treasure. Everything we needed and more. We were drawn to this property as our pup, while amazing, is often slow to warm with other people and dogs. This property was PERFECT for us (and pup!) Simple. Clean. And private as all heck. Be sure to feed the fish in the pond. It was a highlight for us each morning and evening!

We offer a fully furnished beautiful apartment with all the amenities. Perfect for extended stays.
The Windsor Station Restaurant and Barroom is a fabulous hot spot. The Sustainable Farmer, The Harpoon Brewery, The Silo, Great River Outfitters and Simon Pearce are Windsor highlights that you don't want to miss.
  • The apartment Alissa hosts was perfect for me. It was a comfortable space and had all the amenities I needed for two month transient housing. The decor and furniture made it feel like home away from home!

  • Apartment is quiet and comfortable.

  • Good place! It would have been nice to have a cable TV or a Chrome cast here. Beyond that, my stay was great and it is reasonably close to Dartmouth!

  • I needed a place to stay for several weeks for work. I’m glad I chose this location! Clean, easy check in and out and very responsive host! Would absolutely recommend!

  • My parents stayed at Allissa’s apartment for a month. They loved the privacy and comfort of the place. The location was great and, we appreciated the hospitality and quick responses to our queries. Overall, an excellent experience.

  • The space was very comfortable and accommodated our needs. The area was very quiet and nice as well. Our host was very prompt and easy to communicate with if we had an issue. We’d definitely stay here again!

  • Alissa was quick to reply and very nice. Location is ideal in the sense you can get to major attractions such as ski resorts, Hanover and DHMC in a reasonable time. I am staying in another one of Alissa’s listings for my next travel assignment. Alissa’s home is very cute and is very nice for travel healthcare professionals.

The “Green Room” is on the main floor and has its own bathroom. It is accessed by slipping through the food pantry, a clever space-saving innovation designed by my brother when we carried out innovations 6 years ago. A glass-fronted antique mahogany wardrobe provides a place for clothing and personal belongings. Twin mattresses are new and very comfortable, covered with country-patterned, green-themed quilts made by our niece. Being back in the hills, we have no TV, slow internet, and dubious cell reception. We do have a land line with unlimited free U.S. long distance, available to guests. We have a big selection of DVD & VHS movies.
  • Look up “magnificent” in the Thesaurus and it not only has Margaret’s picture but all the synonyms that describe her. Our weekend in NH, while visiting Dartmouth, was convenient, economical, and the icing on the cake (with decorations). Her farmhouse and surrounding acres give a real feel of the hills and mountains of NH from the inside and not just glancing at them from speeding down the highway. For a warm and comfortable stay we’ll be back!

    George2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in a house in the woods, a very quiet area and somewhat removed from the town. The communication was perfect. Margaret very kind to attend us. Recommended for a few days to rest if you visit that area, thanks Margaret!

    Alberto2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret is gracious and a prompt communicator. I would love to stay next year.

    Nancy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The directions Margaret gave us were perfect. The GPS (Garmin) took us within a half mile of the place and Google Maps to us to the house. The road is paved for a little bit and then it's gravel road. It was not a problem for us, we were aware and we have a Subaru Forester. But for some, it might be an issue, so pay attention to that important fact! This place is located a couple miles past Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park, which is great if that is your destination. Even if it's not, the area is simply beautiful. Margaret was so helpful and kept us in touch with the condition of the area. A storm has passed by and the power was out. She gave us the option of a refund, but we decided to stay. Luckily the power came back by the time we arrived! We enjoyed our stay, highly recommend Margaret!

The Monet-Metcalf is an exposed-beam 1888 cottage, and is located on the 19th C. Cornish Art Colony estate of The Butternuts. We're nestled along the CT River in pastoral Cornish, NH, while only minutes from Dartmouth and a region rich in historic, artistic, natural and intellectual sites and events in both VT & NH. Cornish is the town that mesmerized Augustus Saint Gaudens, Maxfield Parrish, Willard Metcalf and J.D. Salinger—we think you'll understand why. Killington and Sunapee skiing nearby!
This 1888 cottage, built by our Great Aunt and Uncle, is on 36 acres on a bluff above the CT River. There is easy access to the BnB from Rte 12 A, which is just beyond the pines on the outer edge of the front lawn of the property. This cozy, 2-story space has two bedrooms tucked under the eaves on the second floor, and a living room, eat-in kitchen with full amenities, and the bathroom (large shower, no bathtub) on the first floor. For swimming, boating and fishing, there is direct CT River access provided by the town of Cornish, just south of our property. We do have air conditioning on the second floor if needed in the summer months.
We are situated in the heart of the Upper Valley, a buzzing four-season cultural area punctuated with picturesque New England towns and landscapes. Please refer to the guidebook map for our suggestions for the best hikes, lakes, skiing, excellent dining, shopping (tax free in New Hampshire!), apple-picking, kayaking, local breweries and distilleries, and more!
  • Jo is an excellent host! She is very easy to communicate with and very acomidating. She even provided breakfast for my check in day, which was awesome as I worked the overnight at the hospital that previous night. She always made sure she didnt have any thing going on in the mornings when I came home from work. Its very nice to have a landloard that thinks of a quite environment for night nurses during the day. I also had to make some adjustments to my stay and she was acomidating to that as well! Jo is the best host I've ever had on air bnb. 10/10 would stay again!

  • Jo’s cottage was very pleasant. She was a great host, and we enjoyed our time there!

    Jonathan2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jo and Shawn are absolutely wonderful hosts!!! I had a tough time getting here my first night (3 tornadoes in CT) and Jo was so wonderful to wait up for me, leave me something to eat since I had been driving 12 hours, and greet me with a smile and a hug! The cottage is so cozy and the location is amazing!! I highly recommend staying here and seeing all this charming town has to offer!!!

    Jessica2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jo was an excellent host- very accommodating and always made sure I had everything that I needed. She made a point to let me know that she was available whenever I needed something. She even helped me out with the dog who was sick while I was away at work. The apartment itself was quaint and very quiet. Jo was more than open to discussing ways to improve the stay for those in the future. The house is in the middle of the woods, so there are some gnats/mosquitoes which can be expected. Overall an excellent experience, and if I find myself in the area again, I would love to stay with Jo!

Contemporary space, in town, 5 minutes from DHMC,Alice Peck, walking distance to downtown Lebanon.
  • Cozy apartment within walking distance from gas stations, Chesters fried chicken, Subway, a downtown area with ma and pa shops and also less than a 10 minute drive from larger restaurants, Walmart, larger shops, Dartmouth College, etc... Modern kitchen, floors, lighting, living room, and clean when I arrived. Great bang for the buck! Curtains are somewhat thin and see through so I hung up my own black out curtains (travel nurse, night shifter) while I was there for my own personal preference. Sometimes can hear neighbor walking as some things are creaky but nothing that was a huge bother. Parking right out front of door so that was nice. If you’re looking for a private place to stay with everything included and in a good location you found it! The host Janet is very quick at responding and is easily reached if you need something. Would stay again!

The second bedroom may be reserved through Fire Ridge Farm II.

    Heather2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts! Awesome view in the morning that can’t be beat! Great communication. Great area. Great value. Great bed! Just keep in mind, you are sharing space in a home that is lived in and there could be other guests. If you are fine with that, this is a fantastic choice!

    Charles2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph are the epitome of perfection in Airbnb hosts. As much privacy as we needed but super hospitality as well! Susan's selection of coffees is to die for, and my husband fell in love with Ralph's workshop in the barn. We knew about the area because family lives nearby, but we also found that we were acquainted with one another's families via our nephew and Susan's daughters. Perfect weather for a fall VT wedding...couldn't have asked for a nicer experience/folks to stay with. Definitely the spot to stay across from Mt. Ascutney...anytime of year!

Do you enjoy Glamping? We are near Woodstock/Quechee and you’ll love us if you enjoy natural setting, rustic woods surrounded by old stone walls and a heavenly pond. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We are experienced innkeepers from So Pasadena CA having managed The Bissell House Bed & Breakfast 15 years. Thanks to all who stayed with us last year. We are now closed for the season and will reopen mid-June.
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have a kitchen, our outdoor cook station has some basics for you. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy! Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs at night. Both trailers are pondside, the El Rey is across from the Curtis Wright. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1955 El Rey. This is our 2nd year to offer the Curtis Wright Airstream, please see our other listing for it. It’s titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” Airstream Glamping. Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of your experience outside the trailer. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please purchase your wood locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal bags and wood on site for sale usually, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with solar water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. If it’s been cool or cloudy, the water will not be warm. This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.
We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and our neighbors. Wildlife abounds in the heavily wooded neighborhood. You might see deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose as well as all sorts of birds, even Pileated Woodpeckers. Our Phoebe Flycatchers fledge near or in the summer kitchen each year. As a special treat, our Barred Owl fledglings were here every evening in July last year, you can still hear them at night sometimes well into the fall.
  • We had such a lovely time at El Rey! The airstream was super cozy and the fire pit was perfect.

  • We loved our stay in Juli and Jim's camper! The location is very beautiful and quiet, both Jim and Juli were lovely and provided lots of useful information about the area, and staying in a camper that was older than me was great fun and a unique experience. Highly recommended if you look for a place to get away from it all for a bit.

  • Juli and Jim were great hosts and went out of their way to greek our arrival, despite several complicated issues causing us to arrive several hours later than expected, well after 9PM, but Juli nevertheless greeted us and walked us through the paces to take the most advantages of their well appointed clamping opportunity. And, although their property is deep in the Vermont woods, with a beautiful set up clamping site, offering only two basic trailers for separate couples, very comfortable sleeping arrangements, with a seperate, protected, covered food prep area, with modest refrigerator storage for two couples and sufficient meal support for cooking for several days of clamping, plus a large, clean and pleasant electronically operated outhouse styled toilet, outfitted with appropriate toiletries, keeping within an "outdoor, deep in the Vermont woods", setting, and eitherJuli or Jim are very often, unobtrusively present, nearby on their property to address any clamping issues to make your clamping experience exceptional. Make no mistake, this is "deep woods" campsite, clamping experience, in a beautiful, rural setting, in the best sense.

The Cluck House (360sq. ft) was converted from a chicken coop into a two bedroom guest space in the 1950’s. Today it is still used for extra sleeping quarters during the warmer months (May 15-Oct 15). Please Note: The Private Full Bathroom Is Located In The Main Farmhouse, just a short walk across the lawn. We are pet friendly and welcome guests who wish to travel with them. We charge a $20 Cleaning Fee per trip.
We have converted the front room of The Cluck House into a common space with a mini fridge, 2 burner hot plate, potable water dispenser, and a small dining table, forming a small living/dining/kitchen area. The back room is a bedroom with a queen and single bed(stored under the queen) and a bureau. Outside there is a picnic table, chairs, gas grill, fire pit, swimming pond and lots of lawn space. The Cluck House faces south with views looking up into the apple orchard. A class 4 road for walking and riding takes you into the village of South Woodstock only 1 mile away. Woodstock village is located 3 miles away via car. Also, we are very near the Green Mountain Horse Association in South Woodstock (20 minute drive). This unique little Vermont retreat is part of the Meadow Clare property which has a separate listing on Airbnb. We hope to see you this Summer!
  • Second stay at this lovely place. Hope to return soon. So nice hosts.

  • A great place, secluded and still very close to Woodstock. Very convenient, nice checkin and communication, as well as great tips and help from the friendly owners. Excellent value.

    Magnus2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible introduction to Woodstock and the beautiful NE in autumn. Tina has the most gorgeous home and land. The Cluck House was so unique and so cozy that we never wanted to leave. Tina was so generous and warm, and what an adorable son and sweet can she has!

    Alycia2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this location. It was in the country but yet close to town. Beautiful foliage and wonderful hospitality. We hope to return in the future.

    Debra2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tina was very accommodating with our last-minute booking and Nick was so polite and helpful. The chicken coop was perfect for our stay and Tina welcomed us into her home to chat and meet her other guests. It’s the perfect spot to explore Woodstock and the rest of Vermont.

    Ryan2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We recently stayed in The Cluck House on our trip to Vermont. I’m so glad we booked this as the whole experience of staying with Tina and her son Nick was one of our favourite parts of our trip! Firstly, The Cluck House is adorable and decorated beautifully. The bed was SO comfy is was a struggle to get up each morning! There’s a little sitting room with fridge, sofa, table and chairs and a two burner stove, but we found ourselves sat around Tina’s kitchen table on the main house both evenings, chatting to her and other guests. The location is super close to Woodstock and in a beautiful secluded area. Tina is wonderful and we loved chatting with her so much. Nick is a great little host too! Thank you both so much, we hope to see you again soon!!

    Annmaree2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tina and Nick were so welcoming! We felt so at home at their Cluck House. We came when the weather was starting to get a bit cold out (dipped down into the 30s overnight) and the Cluck House was warm and cozy. We loved our stay!

    Claire2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Cluck House is a must stay! The space is spotless, and it's perfectly decorated with country charm, which is so welcoming. Tina and Nick were fabulous hosts! They showed us all around and made us feel at home. The farm itself is gorgeous! It feels like you're far away from everything, but it's less than a 10 minute drive to town. At night we saw all the stars that we never get to see in the city, and we even saw the Milky Way! We had plenty of blankets and a space heater which kept us cozy at night. The bathroom in the main house was wonderfully clean and accommodating for us. We'd certainly choose to stay here again over a hotel. Many thanks Tina and Nick. We hope to see you again!

  • I was looking for a place to spend a couple nights when skiing at Killington, what I found was a home away from home. Sarah made me feel so welcome and apart of her home on my two night stay. The wood burning stove was very cozy and the location and short drive to the mountain was beautiful. Will stay again if I take a solo trip to the mountain!!

  • Wonderful place that is quiet and peaceful and perfect for my needs, which are mainly to stay overnight and rest before long work days away.

    Yana2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s Airbnb is hidden gem: charming, peaceful, beautiful; nested in the woods but easy to access. Emma is warm, attentive, discrete and respectful. I appreciate the many thoughtful touches she puts into making the space inviting and comfortable. The place closes up into a private apartment with a full private bath, a sitting area and eating area, but it can open up and seamlessly blend in with the rest of the house. I had a wonderful time staying here for two nights. I enjoyed meeting Emma and hope to return in the future.

    Hui2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and clean with some nice added touches!

    Cori2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable clean spacious place. Having a separate contemporary bathroom and the additional living space with comfy armchair and couch was really nice. Emma is a lovely and considerate host. Overall, the place is a great value. Very convenient to Dartmouth College.

The Boston Globe referred to Fat Sheep Farm & Cabins as a "magical place," with "five stunning cabins [that] are spotless, spacious, and perfectly placed to provide access to incredible views." Enjoy a unique lodging experience while staying on our working farm. Our guests can enjoy fresh seasonal produce, eggs from our chickens and a visit with the farm animals. The farm feels secluded but is only 10 minutes from I91, about 11 miles from both Woodstock and Quechee, and 6 miles from the GMHA.
**If this cabin is booked on the dates you are interested in visiting, we have four other cabins listed on Airbnb** We are a licensed lodging facility in Vermont and you can find us by searching our farm name. Promotions, discounts, or special offers are unavailable through Airbnb. Our lowest rates are only available directly. Please note that the cabin accommodates 4 people but there is a $15 charge for each additional person after 2 people (a person is 3 years old and up). We are a small working farm on 60 acres in Hartland, Vermont. We grow vegetables, have a small herd of dairy sheep and some very spoiled chickens. We also have some exceptionally cute Nigerian Dwarf goats. We like to share all the gifts of farm life with our guests. During your stay on the farm you can enjoy fresh farm eggs and whatever vegetables we have ready for harvest at the time of your visit. Each private cabin has it's own porch with Adirondack chairs overlooking our growing fields and the Vermont hills. All of the cabins have heat, air-conditioning, WIFI, and fully equipped kitchens. This cabin has a private bedroom with a queen bed, a private bathroom with a tub/ shower combo and a living area with a futon couch that pulls out into a full mattress, a small coffee table, and a kitchen island with two stools which serves as the dining table. Clean linens are provided. While this cabin is pet friendly, there is a $20/night per pet charge--please let us know if you plan on bringing any pets.
Suzy And Todd’s home is located in Windsor, Vermont, United States. The farm is located on a quiet dirt road. The dirt roads are great for strolling or bike riding. The scenery is full of rolling hills and beautiful farmland. We are close to many popular Vermont attractions. We are only 11 miles from both Woodstock and Quechee. There is always something fun to do in both Woodstock and Quechee including walking around Woodstock Village, visiting the Billings Farm and Museum, VINS, glassblowing at Simon Pearce, and Quechee Gorge. We are also a short drive from Ascutney Mountain, Hanover, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, King Arthur Flour in Norwich, and Harpoon Brewery in Windsor. In the winter, there are plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the area. Our farm is right down the road from the VAST Trail System for snowmobiling and we are a 45 minute drive from both Killington and Okemo Mountains for downhill skiing.
  • If you're looking for a quiet get away with a beautiful view, this is the perfect place. Todd was a very easy going guy and we look forward to returning to the farm. The cabin was clean and updated and we were welcomed with eggs and scones. We also enjoyed a walk around the property in the snow covered woods. Next time we'll try out the fire pit. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • Fat Sheep Farm is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a country experience in Vermont. It is quiet and somewhat secluded, but not a far drive from any of the surrounding towns. The cabin we stayed in was very clean and cozy. The view from our front porch was beautiful and their 60 acre property was the perfect place to get our dog out for a walk. We hope to come back and enjoy Fat Sheep Farm in the warmer months!
