  • We had the best time in Yosemite and this condo was perfect! The location of the condo was perfect to the valley floor. The condo was cute and had all of the amenities you need for your time in the park! The kitchen was stocked with all of the essentials so we didn't have to buy them (spices, oil, sugar, tea, etc.). The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed being unplugged for a few days but we were still able to watch tv and movies when we got back from hiking. Holly was always quick to respond to all of my many questions. It was a great value and I would highly suggest the place to anyone else! Enjoy your stay!

  • Nice communication, good info about grocery stores. Very nice place! A lot of space, a fully equipped kitchen. We loved it! Very nice location too.

  • Holly's place was absolutely perfect - we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more ! We had everything we needed plus more. Staying inside the park was great. Would definitely come back again

  • Absolutely charming small condo - had everything you could need to have a wonderful time in Yosemite. This condo is in the perfect location - only about 25 minutes from Yosemite Valley (with a trip through Tunnel View) and just about the same to Wawona. Can't stress enough that this is the best location!! Condo was well equipped - beds were comfortable. We were there in June and the temps were quite comfortable since there is not any A/C - fresh air was great!! Wi-fi is just about non-existent and believe it or not it's nice to set that aside and just enjoy yourself and nature!! Holly is the perfect host - and communication was top notch!! Her website is full of information about places to go and things to do. I would definitely recommend this condo to all.

  • Our trip to Holly's was a last minute idea, but it worked out wonderfully. This was our first trip to Yosemite, and having a place that is so close to the park is awesome. Her place was cozy and warm. The kitchen was legit to avoid traveling more to eat and the bathroom was well stocked. If you want a trip to Yosemite, you can't go wrong with Holly's.

    Danny2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Place was so cozy and nice. Cellphone service and wifi are VERY spotty so get ready for no communication with the outside world. Other than that, it was great. Everything we wanted and more.

    Felix2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Holly is incredibly fast and answering a request to book and confirming. She gave great directions to a place that could be hard to find. The condo is exactly as advertised. Cozy. Nice comfortable Murphy bed. Nice deck. Quiet. The only problem was the internet which was flaky. She warned me of that. I was able to send the messages that I needed to send. But it not a place to stream movies or do things on the internet that require a lot of speed. Otherwise, delightful. And it is good to get away from it all, including internet. Thanks, Holly!

    Shirl2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place. Comfortable, well appointed and brilliantly stocked kitchen. You are in the park and only 30 minutes from the Yosemite Valley entrance and no more than 10 minutes from Glacier Point entrance. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

**Check our other listings for our 5-Star Reviews!** Welcome to the newest and most exciting way to book on AirBnB. We (CampCrate) will help you plan and obtain permits for a 3 day backpacking trip on the Pohono Trail in Yosemite National Park. Before your arrival, we will ship the backpacking gear to the Yosemite Valley Post Office for you to pick up. After your trip, use the included, pre-paid shipping label and send it back to us for cleaning. Please read more in the description below.
Sleeping in the backcountry, hitchhiking, and bathing in the river; You did come here for an adventure, right?
This is our recommended 3-Day Itinerary. If you have more time, we can modify it to send you on more hikes and trails. Day 1 - Arrive to Yosemite Valley before 4:30PM to pick up your gear at the Yosemite Valley Post Office and your backpacking permit next door at the Yosemite Valley Wilderness Office. They will provide you directions to the Backpacker's Camp in the heart of Yosemite Valley where you will set up your camp for the first night. After setting up your camp and getting situated, head out to explore Yosemite Valley for the evening. Stop by Lower Yosemite Falls, Cooks Meadow, El Capitan Meadow, Tunnel View, Bridalveil Fall, and Stoneman Meadow before returning back to camp for the night. Day 2 - Wake up early, pack up camp, and head to Yosemite Lodge at the Falls. From here, either board your one-way trip to Glacier Point to begin your hike, or hitchhike from Camp 4. We recommend hitchhiking, as it is legal in the park, very common, and reliable. Arrive to Glacier Point and take in the view. From there, begin your hike up the hill towards Sentinel Dome. Hike the extra mile to the top of Sentinel Dome once you arrive. The view from here is one of the best in the park. Hike back to your trail and continue on until you are past the no-camping zone, where you will set up camp for the night. Day 3 - Pack up camp and continue your hike, passing Taft Point, Dewey Point, and arriving to Tunnel View. From Tunnel View, we recommend hitchhiking agin to get back to your car or hike an extra 2.5 miles to pick up the free shuttle bus from Bridalveil Falls. Return to Backpacker's Camp to set up your tent, then grab a pizza at the Half Dome Village Pizza Deck to celebrate your trip! Enjoy the remainder of your evening in Yosemite Valley. Day 4 - Pack up your gear, then return it to the Yosemite Valley Post Office to be returned to us for cleaning!
  • My first time to Yosemite and yes it was cold in October but that was only in the morning. As the day went on it was beautiful. Chad’s instructions were on point and I did this hike by myself and I’ll never forget it.

  • Amazing idea. I wish I thought of it. If you're out of town and would like to get away from the crowds, I recommend camp crate 100%. Just make sure you're in relatively good shape. Such a great experience, with amazing views of all that Yosemite has to offer. Chad is great and responds to your messages quickly. Just do it.p

    David2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Chad was helpful providing directions in the Parc. The gear was of good quality.

    Grégoire2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic experience. Chad was very helpful and replied to all my questions, the equipment was clean and well cared for, and his directions were spot on. I did this hike over Labor Day and still saw no one until the very end. It was absolutely beautiful. The road up to Glacier Point was closed due to fires, so I had to hike up the Four Mile Trail to get to Glacier Point and the trailhead for Pohono. Great way to tack on some extra miles but was strenuous. Nothing but switch backs practically. Chad also provides videos to show you how to work all the equipment, so if you're like me and haven't really done this sort of thing before, it's no problem. If you're thinking about doing this I'd say go for it!

    Laura2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chad was a great host, always trying to help us with our many doubts. The gear was brand new and perfect to stay in the wilderness. I just have positive words for him and the Yosemite experience.

    Pablo2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chad's help and knowledge of the area was amazing. The camp crate was perfect for the trail! It was my first backpacking trip and also my first time in Yosemite. It was an amazing experience and I'll never forget It!

    Zach2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • You must do this!! Don't go to a cabin or a hotel. You get the very best of Yosemite this way. We are a family of 6 with 4 teenagers and this was just perfect. We picked up the gear and found a spot in the backpackers camp then set off the next morning. There were no wilderness permits left for the hike Chad suggested so instead we did the loop to Yosemite falls and around to Snow Creek and Mirror lake. It's quite hard work with backpacks going up to the falls in the heat but totally worth it and doable. The rest of the hike was completely beautiful and we camped overnight in the forest near a creek. You will never have that experience if you stay down in the valley. Chad was responsive and helpful and had lots of advice and although we had never been to Yosemite we had no trouble working it out with his help. It was a truly fantastic magical few days

    Shiv2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • I'm so glad we took this trip and used Chad's service - I don't think we ever would have backpacked in the wilderness otherwise, and now we're hooked! He made everything very easy, was incredibly responsive to our multiple questions and came up with alternative options for us as we decided to hike on Yosemite's busiest weekend - 4th of July. The gear provided is top notch, exactly what you'll need, and as long as you are a little bit flexible (open to hitch hiking, for example) you'll have a blast!

Welcome to my Studio Condo, in Yosemite West, located in the gates of Yosemite Park.
Studio A108 is a preferred mountain/meadow forest view unit, furnished with a queen-size bed, sofa bed and a single full bath. Sleeps 4. This unit is 400 square feet, with a fully equipped kitchenette, that has a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. TV/DVD, Satellite, river rock propane fireplace, and private outdoor deck with a gas grill ready to use.
There is nearby trails you can explore. The common popular trails are located in Yosemite Valley, which is about 20 minutes.
  • The condo was in a great location in the park and it was an easy 20-25 min drive down to the valley. Overall, the studio was clean, comfortable, and had all the kitchenware we needed to cook. There is no Wifi available in the room (It's occasionally available in the next building over by the laundry room).

    Daniel2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The condo was in the perfect location for myself, husband, and 7 yo son. The directions to get into the place were very clear, and it was easy to get into with the keyless entry, and clean. The bed was comfy and my son slept in the pull out in the sofa. We usually rent a place with a kitchen while on vacation so I can cook some meals. I did cook A couple dinners and obviously the oven is different than mine at home, but you have to expect that. Basic utensils and cookware were included, but the renter should be aware there is only salt and pepper. Luckily I brought my own oil and spices. We didn't use the grill on the patio. Speaking of the patio, ours was on the side of the building that faced the trees and wilderness as opposed to the ones that faced the parking lot. The tv worked great and I loved the gas fireplace which acts as the heater. Plenty of towels but I would've liked more blankets as my son had to use our comforter which didn't leave my husband with much. Unit doesn't include toiletries such as shampoo/conditioner, only a small bar of soap. As I mentioned before the location is perfect which is why we didn't spend much time in the unit or around the premises. We came at the end of spring break so Badger Pass which is 10 min away was still open for tons of snow play!!! Then of course Yosemite Valley is a 20 min scenic drive. Will definitely rent in this complex again!!

    Krista2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is perfect for a stay in Yosemite. It's about 15mins from tunnel view so really easy to get to the valley every morning. The room is great for two people or a small family. The only issue is the thin walls but everyone is very respectful of the quiet period between 10pm and 8am so was not a big issue for us. Would definitely recommend it to others looking to stay somewhere close but without the huge crowds of the valley. Shayla responded very quickly to the booking and check in/out was very easy.

    Georgina2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The condo was just as described. it is part of a vacation rental complex. it is a nice studio with balcony equipped with a bbq. check-in and everything was very easy. only wifi was not available in the studio - but this was told us before. there is wifi in the hallway though. perfect location for exploring glacier point and the valley. we loved it. good idea to bring food for the whole stay though the supermarket in yosemite valley has surprisingly fair prices.

    Manuel2015-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • This condo is in such a fantastic location to explore Yosemite. It's really easy if you have a car as it has parking on site and it's only a short drive to the main Yosemite Valley. We had a great stay!

    Tim2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The condo was excellent for a weekend stay in Yosemite, the location ideal and the setting cozy!

  • The condo was everything we were expecting. Check in was very easy. Manager called the first evening to make sure everything was in working order. The place was very scenic and great surroundings. Fireplace gave off lots of heat. Kitchen was well stocked. We would recommend this location.

New construction, 650 sq foot apartment. Clean, comfortable, safe and charming. Perfect size for two people to spread out and enjoy lots of space. King bed, full kitchen, well appointed. Inside park gates in premium location. Lower level of a duplex home. Great reviews!
Planning a romantic getaway to Yosemite? Lucky you! With stunning vistas and wild beauty, few places kindle romance like Yosemite. Of course, you'll want accommodations to match, and our two-person Serenity Suite offers what few places in Yosemite can—a luxury home that's private and peaceful. It's the perfect setting to create lasting memories together. Located at 5,500 feet, this area offers the closest lodging to the Badger Pass Ski and alpine adventure area. Located inside the park gate, in the Yosemite West neighborhood, Serenity Suite is approximately 20-30 minutes from popular attractions, including the Valley floor and its breathtaking waterfalls, Glacier Point, and Wawona with its golf course. It sure beats driving over two hours from one of the gateway cities! Serenity Suite is brand new and you can feel the care that went into every detail. As you can see in our pictures, the living area and bedroom are connected. In fact, the whole suite boasts an open floor plan and extra high ceilings that both make the space feel bigger than it is. Outside you'll find a huge covered deck with a barbecue. The home is fully equipped - towels, linens, dishes, cookware. You only need to bring yourself, your food/drink, and a good time! We are sorry - there is no TV service or reliable cell phone service in this area or at our home. We do have internet with WiFi (see other section for internet limitations). We have a video library. Serenity Suite is located below our other rental (Royal Retreat, for parties up to 4 people). All of your space is separate and private including your parking area, entrance and deck. The entrance to the suite is down an 18-step stairway which is extra wide to make it easy to get luggage in and out. PLEASE NOTE: because this is a lower unit, you will hear footfall and other sounds of occupancy coming from the unit above. Please expect this. We built the home with soundproofing and all our guests have been satisfied. This home comfortably sleeps two people. We allow three people and provide an air mattress and/or portable crib. We welcome children but they must be booked as "children" if they are 6 months or older so that they can be charged, or let us know you are bringing one baby under 6 months and it will be no charge. Rates listed already include the local 11% tax.
Our neighborhood, Yosemite West is special. It sits high above the elevation of Yosemite Valley and provides a quiet and peaceful escape. When its hot below, or jam packed with tourists, I feel great relief when I arrive in Yosemite West. Birds are chirping and we regularly see wildlife in our neighborhood, including deer, coyote and bears. Its peaceful, yet inside the park gates and close to all the best spots to visit.
  • The place was very well appointed. It was nice to be inside the park. We have two small kids so it was nice to have a short drive everyday to our destinations. It was everything we needed except the Internet. In some cases even simple games that me and the kids like to play were blocked. If the Internet was usable it would have been perfect. It would also be nice to have access to the washer and dryer.

    Maya2015-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything that previous reviewers have said about the beauty of the setting and the well-appointed accommodations are true. The place lacked for nothing and was as well outfitted as any Airbnb I've ever stayed at. The only thing we didn't find was garlic powder. We were happy to discover a washer and dryer, which wasn't mentioned in the list of amenities when I booked, so was a pleasant surprise. Re: the infamous contract, at the time I booked the place the existence of the contract wasn't revealed until after I committed to the booking. I see that now it is disclosed in the description of the listing, and I find that approach much more open and above-board. Per Holly's written guidance, we stopped at the Pioneer Market in Mariposa to pick up groceries (on the drive in from SF), and were very glad we did. The Suite is a good 35-40 min. down a twisty, mountainous 2-lane road to reach the valley floor where you'll find the closest small market. It's a quite pleasant drive when there's not a ton of traffic, but good to remember you can't just pop out for something at a 7-11 around the corner. We quite enjoyed the deck and saw deer passing through right below it. We also took advantage of the BBQ. The environment is very peaceful and serene. As Holly discloses in her description, there is noise from the upstairs guests, at times pretty noticeable.

  • Serenity Suite is the perfect accommodation for a stay in Yosemite National Park and cannot be recommended enough. It is in a beautiful, idyllic surroundings and is furnished with a great sense of style. Everything is perfectly clean and organized. Holly and Jeff responded very fast to our request and provided all necessary information. The E-mail contact was super friendly and we had always the feeling that they are happy to be able to share such a beautiful place. When we arrived even a bottle of wine and some popcorn waited for us and we could gain some great memories eating popcorn in front of the fireplace.

    Bernhard2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was an all around fantastic experience. The directions to the place were clear and easy to follow, the location is incredibly convenient to Yosemite Valley, and the house is beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

    Colin2015-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • This location BY FAR exceeded all of our expectations. This was the last of the three main places my wife and I stayed on our trip to California, and it didn't disappoint in any way. The amount of attention to detail was unmatched by any other location we stayed at, as it had EVERYTHING you would expect to find in your own home (and more), including a fully stocked first aid kit, everything you would need for cooking, and also things you may not even think to buy for your own home. My wife forgot to bring her earplugs to help her sleep at night (not that there is any noise here), but Holly had individual packs of earplugs in the bathroom just in case! All of the little things that our previous locations didn't have that made us feel like we were being too picky, they had every one of those things here. I don't know how they managed to think of everything, but they did! There were people staying upstairs during our visit, which we barely noticed at any time. The house is built well and provides amazing privacy, and each of the rooms (bedroom/living space/kitchen/bathroom) were of the highest quality you could ask for. I grilled up some salmon and chicken with the outside barbecue and every spice I needed was available along with cooking oil, a baster, and a meat thermometer. These were things that we commonly noticed were missing at other locations we stayed. There was a local bottle of wine along with some snacks left for us upon arrival, which was a nice added touch! We had debated staying in Mariposa when first making our travel plans, but this would have added significant travel time to the valley and attractions like Glacier Point, which we realize now would have added some unnecessary stress to our trip. Everywhere you go you want to leave as early as possible to avoid missing out on parking along with avoiding traffic delays, so being in the park was a much bigger convenience than we first realized when booking this location. I've seen reviewers mention the extensive contract you sign, but to be honest, I couldn't even think of this as something to complain about. It's just a great host with a great place showing an attention to detail that is unmatched by any other host that I've come into contact with so far. In my mind, that is something to appreciate rather than question. I would VERY HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone considering a trip to the Yosemite area! Thank you so much for this excellent listing Holly, and we hope to be back some day!

    Kristian2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Serenity Suite was perfect for a Yosemite stay! Holly and Jeff were very organized and made sure we had everything we needed. Their tips for what to do in Yosemite were extremely helpful! I would highly recommend the Serenity Suite to anyone who is looking to stay in Yosemite.

    Brandy 2016-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic suite for a couple or a small family. Everything was beautifully clean and well tended. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and cooking ware that was in extremely good condition. We've stayed in higher-end places where knives and other accouterments are ineffective. The bed was ultra comfortable, which was much appreciated after hard hikes in the park. Although I found the many instructions, contract requirement, etc. tedious, my wife appreciated what she took as clarity as to what the host expected. If the host continues to maintain this newish property in such excellent shape, it will long be an excellent place to stay. The fit and finish of the house made it stand out in the neighborhood. Perhaps the best part of rental was that it was close, but not too close to the Yosemite Valley. Located inside the park gates, there was never a wait to get to the sites and always the guarantee of a beautiful vista as we approached the valley.

    Scott2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • An outstanding place to stay in Yosemite! Very convenient to all the sights we wanted to see in the park! 20 minutes from Tunnel View, 30 minutes from Curry Village, 40 from Mariposa Grove. Listing was very accurate, and we appreciated the "heads-up" about the overhead company in the unit above. Was noticeable but not disturbing. Beautiful home, well appointed and very comfortable. Correspondence w/ Holly & Jeff was quick and informative, and appreciated the binder of hiking guides they had in the unit. If you stay in Yosemite it's helpful to know that there's a decent grocery in Yosemite valley inside the park, maybe a half-hour from the house. Perhaps a little more expensive than a normal grocery store outside the park, but still reasonable and great for picking up things you forgot or need in a pinch.

Your on top of the world with this newly built mountain cabin able to accommodate up to 10 guests!
This large mountain cabin rests on top of Hennes Ridge Road and offers a spactacular view of the surrounding Yosemite landscape. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath has 2 queen size beds and 2 twin sized bunk beds, and 2 chair sleepers.
  • Beautiful house with outstanding views! Perfect place to gather with large group of friends or family. It's close location to Yosemite Valley is an added perk! Be mindful if looking to rent this house during summer months as this house does not have air conditioning, which made sleeping extremely uncomfortable as the house did not cool down at night. Fall/Winter/Spring months would be an ideal time to rent this location.

  • New house with gorgeous contemporary interior design. It is a luxury cabin without any cheap solution. It was funny to hear whaooo whaoo with every person stepping in to the house.

  • We stayed at the cabin as a home-base to ski Badger Pass. The cabin is lovely. Beautifully decorated and fully equipped. The kids loved the upstairs entertainment room. They wanted to stay longer. Isaac was a great host and was very prompt in responding to my emails.

  • Amazing cabin in an amazing location. The high ceilings in the common room were really stunning. Everything was clean and the house was well stocked. Isaac was friendly and easy to work with. One heads up though, the address listed in the posting is a couple numbers off from the actual (which is an empty lot). Read the information that is provided when you reserve (the correct address and explanation is there)

  • Our group had the best time staying at Kildrummy Cabin! The house is gorgeous and has all the amenities you need. It is such close proximity to Tunnel View and even closer to Glacier Point. Just know ahead of time you will have no service at the house, didn't bother us as we were thrilled to be off the radar for a weekend. Isaac answered all our questions and we would highly recommend this place.

  • We came to the cabin, not knowing what to expect. It was in a beautiful location and we were very pleased. The cabin was clean and roomy. The staff was very responsive with questions that we asked. Overall it was a great experience. The only issue was that they tried to get us to pay for damage to the cabin that we did not cause. After we made our points and explained why it was not us, they agreed to not charge us.

  • This is a beautiful house in Yosemite national park and it really does live up to the pictures on airbnb. It's about a 30 min drive to Yosemite village.

  • Great location in Yosemite. Although you still need to get to the valley early to avoid traffic, you get a head start on all those coming from outside the park. Very peaceful and relaxing and the house was beautiful!

    Susan2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This home was the perfect retreat in a wonderful location just 20 minutes from the Valley. We were a group of 7 and the house was so spacious that each of us could have found our own private space to relax if we wanted to. The deck off the back of the house was wonderful and provided the perfect spot for star gazing at night or morning coffee. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the basics and spacious as well with a nice sit-at island. We took advantage of the outdoor barbecue each night since we were there in August. Each room has it's own bathroom and the beds were incredibly comfortable! We were never able to figure out how to use the DVD player for the kids, but ultimately we really didn't care... we are in Yosemite after all- there is enough eye candy in every direction. There were plenty of board games to choose from and this is what we chose to do at night. Some are missing pieces and/or directions so maybe bring some of your own favorites if this is something you enjoy. The best is where the house is situated, even though there are other homes in the area, you still feel that you are in a private remote space. The back deck looks right out to the beautiful trees. The perfect spot for wildlife viewing. We definitely recommend this gorgeousl home.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Brian's home. The home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood inside the park. It's conveniently located if you're looking to visit Yosemite Valley, Wawona, and Glacier Point. The home itself is practically new, very spacious, and well-furnished. Brian was an excellent host, and he went out of his way to ensure that we enjoyed our family trip to Yosemite.

  • This cabin was fantastic. It is surrounded by tall pines and views of the valleys below. The fireplace is lovely and the heating is warm. We booked it only for 4 (including my parents) but it could easily sleep a few families in its 3 comfortable bedrooms and additional sofa-beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and the gas flame heats up fast - this is important as cooking can take longer at 6200 feet! We loved the cabin and are already planning to visit later this year. Much better than staying in the cramped and overpriced spaces in Yosemite valley itself! Brian was friendly and informative over email - we didn't need to meet him in person as the keys are conveniently left in a lockbox. It's a short (15-20 minute) drive down to Yosemite valley, though the one way valley loop itself had a lot of traffic on Saturday late morning. Best to drive into the valley early. Getting to destinations on glacier point road is much faster from the cabin than from the valley, though, at least 30 minutes driving saved there!

  • We had a great time in Brian's house in Yosemite West. The house was very comfortable, clean and orderly, the kitchen was well equipped, and the hosts made it easy for us to keep things nice (broom & dustpan available, plenty of detergent for the dishwasher, clearly labeled recycling bin etc.). The location is fantastic - our kids spent memorable time in the adjacent forest and we saw deer and coyotes through the great room windows. Brian was also very communicative in the lead up to our stay. We would return without hesitation!

  • The Oso Lodge surprised and delighted me to no end. Actually, the pictures on the website don't quite do it justice. The sweeping windows and high ceilings have the Lodge a sense of spacious luxury, while the furnishings were cozy. There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms are on the bottom floor and share one full size bathroom. The room upstairs has a full and twin bed, with another full bathroom. The most delightful thing was the "closet bunk bed" designed for kids! Fully equipped kitchen a wonderful treat also. Highly recommend, would stay again.

The first floor of large home, in a neighborhood with-in the park gates, away from crowds. It is equi-distance, (13 miles) from the water falls, golf course, Glacier Point, and Wawona Hotel. No or low cell service. Do not count on WiFi. Good Value. NO smoking in unit, NO smoking on the deck, NO smoking on the property.
Full run of lower basement floor. Bedroom separated from family room down a hall. Bathroom near bedroom. Kitchen is in the back part of the family room.
  • Great location within park grounds, a clean space and a full kitchen with all the tools you need. The house is located in Yosemite West along Rt 41, which is about 20-25 minutes from the valley. It also offers close proximity to Mariposa Grove, although the sequoia grove itself is closed currently to allow for environmental rehabilitation. All in all a solid little place to stay for 2-3 people. One issue we noticed was the hot water being a little inconsistent where it would be fine, then go completely cold mid-shower. Not sure if this was just something others have dealt with, but the hot water generally came back on in a few minutes.

  • Wonderful stay! The rooms are larger than pictured. Clean and nicely appointed. Bring DVDs. The drive to the valley felt quick - about 20 minutes in mid April.

  • Hans and Andrea are great hosts. The apartment is perfectly located for a couple or family interested in exploring the amazing Yosemite park. It is perfectly designed and stocked. When our daughter was ill, Andrea was on hand to help and recommend medical facilities. All in all we had an amazing time in a great apartment with outstanding hosts. Highly recommend.

  • This listing was nicer in person than in the photos. Super spacious and comfortable! Our trip followed a heavy snow storm, so chains (or perhaps 4WD) were pretty necessary on the streets getting to the house. The host plowed the drive in front of the house when we arrived so that we had a nice parking spot. The heaters kept the place warm, though they were a bit loud to have on during the night. The location was convenient for getting in and out of Yosemite Valley, and it was just a quick drive to Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area (formerly Badger Pass).

    Steven2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our arrival was smooth. We felt comfortable and cozy being there. Loved the neighborhood and will definitely stay there again. Close drive to the view points that are on the map. The place is well kept and maintained. Absolutely loved it and had a great time!

Located inside Yosemite National Park's gates with room for eight, this well-designed, newly-constructed 3,330-square-foot upscale tri-level home includes a 3-story elevator, street-level/no-stairs all-season access, 3 king size bedrooms, 3 full baths (2 with steam showers, 1 with whirlpool tub), ample wraparound decks on each level, and plenty of space to gather with family/friends or to find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the wind in the trees or the snow falling in winter.
Cedar Star at Yosemite West was designed and constructed to maximize guest comfort and convenience. This first-class house features king beds in all bedrooms, well-appointed bathrooms (including 2 with steam showers and 1 with a jetted tub), 2 full-size gourmet kitchens (including a Bosch 36-inch induction cook-top and convection oven on the main floor and a double oven on the first floor), and large covered wraparound decks to enjoy the view of local mountains and sunsets. Additional features include hardwood and tile floors, high-end room-size rugs, 2 television areas with 60" LED screens, Satellite Wi-Fi internet (for checking email and web browsing--it is not fast enough for streaming services such as video, gaming, or music), satellite TV, off-street all-season parking, 2 sets of washers and dryers, and easy access to the main floor from the street plus an elevator so you don't have to carry luggage and groceries up flights of stairs.
Located inside the gates of Yosemite National Park (which means no waiting in long lines to enter and exit during your stay) Yosemite West is a community of private residences and resort homes which can be accessed from California State Highway 41 (aka The Wawona Road) via Henness Ridge Road, approximately 17 miles (27 km) inside the South Entrance of the Park. With an approximate altitude of 6,000 feet, Yosemite West is higher than accommodations in the valley. During the summer, this affords a cooler environment by 10 to 20 °F (5 to 10 °C) than in the Valley. Yosemite West is about 30 minutes closer to the popular Glacier Point area and Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias than any of the often crowded and overpriced lodgings/campsites in Yosemite Valley. Close enough to to reach Yosemite's sights and activities with a few minutes drive, yet just far enough away from the crowds to enjoy Yosemite's peace and quiet at the end of the day. During the winter, Yosemite West is the closest lodging to the Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area (Badger Pass) for world-class cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and excellent family downhill and snowboarding.
  • donald's 3 level home was a great space for our one family to enjoy. this property can handle 3 families since all 3 floors have bed and bath (and two floors have full kitchen). our kids (8 and 10) got a kick out of the elevator and we parents valued it as well, esp when moving suit cases. the stairs are also fine to use - not too strenuous and some good exercise. the house is the most well stocked home we've rented and it was a pleasure being in a new home - everything was so clean. the views all around were stunning. donald was very responsive. we asked him whether he had double A batteries in the house and he ended up having his local person drop some off. he had some treats waiting for us check in which is a nice touch. the bathrooms were fully stocked and were excellent - steam functions, good water pressure etc. the kitchens were impressive. the fireplaces are electronic / gas with timers which is not preferred by me but my wife would rather have that instead of wood burning. donald has many signs in the house warning about slippery decks when wet or icy and it pays to mention this here again b/c he's not kidding - very slippery indeed (we had a lot of rain and snow on our stay) so be careful. Note - if you want to get away from it all and experience one of the most dramatically beautiful places on earth with few distractions, Yosemite it the place. if communication to the outside world or streaming video is a priority, you should reconsider Yosemite. in Yosemite, there is no cell phone service that i know of and, the wifi in any home or hotel is sattelite based and is typically quite weak so you can only do email and web browsing at slow speeds. anyhoo, we cant wait to go back to Donald's place - hopefully with another family or two so we can share the experience!

  • We traveled with two other couples for our first trip to Yosemite, and looking forward to when we will find the moment to go again. In preparation I found Donald's Home, the size and layout seemed perfect. When we arrived we were all so thrilled from the moment we walked into the foyer. The was fantastic. The views are forever from the main room and the balconies off of each floor, looking at the mountain covered in a carpet of trees. This is not like any ordinary rental. The fixtures and amenities go well beyond. I can't say enough good about it. How about a steam shower after a day of hiking through Yosemite, that felt great. The kitchens were fitted with new high quality appliances plenty of dishes and glasses, and everything we needed for our barbque our first night there. Nice quality furniture, plenty of good towels and amenities. Going between the levels was not a problem if your tired , just use the elevator. It's a house that the photos don't do justice to. Frankly it's only one part of the wonderfulness , the other and very important part is Donald himself . What a huge help he was to our stay! Thank you Donald. He was there for the several questions I had in preparation for the trip and when there was closure of one road into the park from a rockslide I received maps and suggestions of alternative routes. We were late on arrival because of the slide and he made sure we had groceries! This was incredible. A host that went beyond. We have already recommended this house to others planning a trip and I know our travel partners have too. We will be back.

  • This home is fabulous. We had a family of 7 stay for the Labor Day weekend. The home was in perfect condition, every detail was attended to. You felt like you were in a 5 star hotel. Thank you Donnald for attending to every detail to make our stay so special. Location was as good as it can get in Yosemite - within the park made things so easy to get out to all of the sites within the park. Keep in mind, Yosemite is huge so it takes time to get everywhere, but this is as good as it gets. The only negative was no AC and it was unusually hot this weekend so open windows at night and the ceiling fans made things OK. Otherwise this was a 5 star experience. If you are going to Yosemite you must stay here.

  • Fantastic! Photos don't do this place justice. Perfect family retreat in an amazing part of the world.

  • We have spent the best weekend with our family & friends at Donald's. As we pulled up at 3:45pm, Donald was just about to leave the house. He kindly provided a tour of the house and showed us how to properly use the elevator. Before he left, we asked for the closest sightseeing spot since we only have a few hours left before sunset. Donald described in details of the tunnel view with directions for us. After we have settled and start looking at the printouts on the dining table, we realized he had all the papers ready with all kinds of information needed for the park. The house has exceeded our expectations. The fully equipped kitchen has more than what we need. The bathrooms have towels filling up the whole cabinet. Not to mention the two kitchens, there were also two laundry rooms available. If you are traveling with children, you do not need to bring spare clothes. We like to dine in or out of the house with the view overlooking the valley. We get to enjoy sunset right from the house. I'm missing the stay already as I write. Thank you Donald for the good memories.

  • Great location, fully equipped place, just what you need when staying on a quiet area. The red door apartment was great for our 3 night stay in Yosemite. We managed with our active 10 month old and really enjoyed the deck and BBQ and sunsets in the evenings. Nice reading material on the area, including the hiking book, which was very helpful for us. The kitchen was will stocked, lots of extra blankets. Just perfect! Thank you!!

  • Georgeta's place was very clean and welcoming. The location was great, about a 30 min drive to the Yosemite Valley where all the attractions can be seen. You can definitely hear the guests above but Georgeta is very up front about that and it was really only foot traffic that you could hear and it did not bother us. We were delighted to see a group of deer grazing next to us every single night while we sat on the balcony and soaked up the last rays from the day and watched the beautiful sunset.

    Charlie2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The red door apartment is a great and very peaceful place to stay to enjoy the mountains. It was super cool to relax on the terrace to feel the last rays of the sun after a long day of trekking. The location in Yosemite is very convenient. We did some amazing treks and discovered an incredible park with awesome views... Very good communication with Georgeta. Everything is clear and well described. No surprise.

  • Fantastic location as a base to experience Yosemite park. Comfortable apartment that is well appointed. Great deck to experience the sunset. I think we were very lucky to be the only ones using the property (not sure what it's like if someone is upstairs) which made the space feel very luxurious and peaceful. We were a little overwhelmed with the amount of rules but suspect there were abuses or folks with unfair expectations to get it to this point. Georgeta was very responsive and gracious. A+.

  • Wonderful apartment in Yosemite. Location is awesome, the apartment was extremely clean and well-maintained. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. AC didn't seem to work but there was a portable fan in the room and the temperatures were low enough at night to keep us cool. Overall great stay!

Despite that the Glacier Road was closed because of fire and the Valley filled up with smoke periodically we had a great visit and Yosemite's magic shone through. Thank you.

  • This apartment looks newly repainted and bright inside in an older structure. It is in the park, near the start of the Glacier Pt Road so perfect for access to the south rim even when the Valley is crowded. We were thankful for this great location. It's a little pricey for what it is, and the kitchen is basic at best, but it saved us lots of time in traffic and was perfectly serviceable as a base for our three days of hiking in the high country.

  • Lisa's place was cozy, wonderful and had everything you would need for your stay. The biggest pro for me was fully equipped kitchen with everything you would need to make your own meal. However, please be aware that it takes 30-40 minutes one way to enter the Yosemite valley, so be careful when it comes to planning. An important pointer for future travelers into lisas house which is cellphone connection is spotty, but wifi is great. Lisa will share the password when you book. Having said that almost everyone has an smartphone these days, so connect to wifi and call via wifi if any issues. The apartment was beautiful, cozy has nice views of the forest and it feels just like home.

  • Amazing stay! Very well located and very accommodating hosts. The house is very well equipped for cooking and has great amenities overall. Be sure to read and take with you all the instructions for getting to the property. Also, know that the gravel road leading to the property is bumpy. Better to have a high car and drive slowly (also better because sometimes there are deer).

  • It is hard to overstate how special the Johnson Family Yosemite Cabin is! The cabin is exactly as described & pictured by the host(s). It is spacious for 2, (& would be very comfortable for 4). The "cabin" is well designed, impeccably maintained, well appointed... open, airy & filled with light. The cabin is a short (but sometimes challenging) drive from Yosemite Valley, but provides a welcome, quiet retreat from the hoards of people who descend on the park throughout much of the year. The host, Lloyd is everything a host should be! The Johnson Family Yosemite Cabin is a great alternative for those who want to visit Yosemite, but escape each day to a quiet, relaxing retreat - still within the park - after enjoying all that Yosemite Valley has to offer.

  • This was a really nice , spotless home. Probably the closest area to rent a home to Yosemite Valley. Takes about 25-30 mins with no traffic. Quiet. A little tricky to get to, follow directions precisely if your getting there in the dark as it's in a rural area with numerous forks in the road and hard to see the landmarks after dark. Road was a little rutty from recent rains so if you have a passenger car be aware it may be bumpy but certainly passable. It is in an area of previous wildfires so some of the views are of a "scorched earth" variety. The home itself was super clean, had everything needed. Comfortable, roomy bedrooms and living area with nice big windows. Flawless WiFi. The host Lloyd was very nice and communicated well offering any help needed with Yosemite advise, and could be reached easily.

  • We had a wonderful experience in this cozy condo with 2 bathrooms and fireplace! It's a short, scenic drive to Yosemite Valley and the hosts had a welcome binder with plenty of information about the area and maps to points of interest.

  • Celia had a wonderful condo. My family and I loved staying there and we would love to return in the future. A huge plus for Celia's is the location inside the park. We could grab breakfast and be out the door on a hike in minutes! Highly recommend her place to anyone visiting beautiful Yosemite.

  • Yosemite was more than words can describe. The condo was well appointed and perfectly positioned to access the park. We would stay again if we have the opportunity.

  • The flat is exactly same as the listing. We did not met Celia. The staff is helpful.

  • Quaint, efficient and perfectly located (for yosemite valley attractions) condominium for a group of 4-6, depending on whether you have volunteers for a queen sofa bed in your group. We enjoyed our stay and it was quite awesome to not have to wait at the park entry gates on a busy weekend. Efficient on site assistance when needed.

    Anupam2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal place to explore Yosemite from - lovely cosy space which is comfortable and well-equipped. Celia was quick to respond and very helpful when booking.

    Jennifer2015-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, nicely furnished condo. Comfortable beds and sheets. Wonderful location, close to the valley floor of Yosemite and to Glacier Point. The condo was located in a nice complex and it has a decent view of pine trees. We enjoyed our stay very much. The only negitive thing was the noise from neighboring condos.

    Pat2013-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay during your Yosemite park experience! Nicely decorated and all facilities you need.

My place is close to the center of Yosemite National Park.. You’ll love my place because of the light, the kitchen, the high ceilings, the coziness, and the comfy bed. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
  • The house was just as we expected and William was prompt with responses to questions. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and easy access to the big park attractions.

  • My friends and I had a great stay at William's house in Yosemite West! The house was very clean, well taken care of, and nicely equipped (BBQ, etc.). The location is amazing, a short drive to the valley or Glacier Point. Would definitely stay here again!

Our warm and inviting apartment located inside the park gates within 30 minutes of Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and the Mariposa Grove. Finished in 2010, Alpine Escape is an 840sf (78m2), one-bedroom apartment with the comforts of home. This apartment makes up the ground floor of our duplex home. You enter from the front of the home and we have a completely separate entrance to our floor in the back.
A cozy 840 square-foot one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, modern appliances, granite countertops and knotty alder cabinets and trim throughout. Our comfortable living room area features a fireplace, a 47" television (no reception but a wide selection of DVDs) and a daybed in the sleeping alcove. The daybed turns into two twin beds for sleeping. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a Saatva Luxury Firm mattress (basically a medium-firm mattress with a very thick pillow top) with built-in knotty alder cabinetry. The bathroom is entered through the hallway (i.e. not from the master bedroom) and is a standard bathroom with a tub/shower.
Yosemite West is at a sort of intersection that puts you about 30 minutes from the three major attractions in this section of the park: Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and the Mariposa Grove. No place puts you as close to all three, but we also have no services where we live, so it works best for people who plan to cook their own meals.
  • Clean and comfortable home with wonderful hosts! Also, the location left us in a good position for first time park exploration.

  • Tom and Theresa, We couldn't think of a better house to stay at for our wedding week if we tried! We enjoyed the cleanliness, all of the thoughtful accommodations, and the short distance to our family's rental house. Nothing short of perfect :) Hope to see both of you in the future!!

    Tristan2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was an ideal experience and probably the best I've had on AirBnB. The place was great; accurate to the pictures and felt like home. As Tom advised, we went to the grocery store in Oakhurst and were able to utilize the full kitchen to cook some great meals, adding to the entire experience. The drive from Tom's unit to the key areas of the park was beautiful and scenic. We had a blast and will likely stay here again when we return. Thanks so much, Tom & Theresa!

    Ryan2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an unfortunate accident a few days before we were supposed to check-in, so we had to cancel the reservation. But Tom was really understanding and courteous, he stayed in touch with me to inform me that he is trying to get those dates re-booked, etc. He really went above and beyond what I expected. I am 100% sure he takes great care of his guests. I really hope I would have the opportunity to stay with him in the future!! Thanks again.

    Ami2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's place is the perfect base from which to explore Yosemite. It was better than the photos, sparkling clean, with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Fantastic kitchen, great shower, super comfy bed, and the wifi was much better than we expected given the difficulties in the area. I would highly recommend staying at Tom's!

    Kate2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Theresa's place is perfect for a getaway in Yosemite. The location is ideal, as you are only a short drive from Glacier Point Road and less than 30 minutes to the valley. Staying at their place allows the comforts of a home without the crowds of the valley. The home is newly remodeled and has everything you could need for your stay. Highly recommend staying here.

    Jon2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tom + Theresa are really exceptional hosts! They graciously offer up expert tips that help you get the most out of your trip in Yosemite. Furthermore, they ensure that you are well prepared and at ease so that you can enjoy the outdoors :) And did I mention that their home is amazing? Location wise, you're only a 20-30 min drive away from Yosemite Valley and you have peace and solitude. Moreover, the entire home is extremely well stocked (DVDs, board games, all the cooking supplies you could think of) and spotless! In short, if you're looking for a place nearby Yosemite to unwind and relax while enjoying the outdoors, then you've found the perfect spot.

    David2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is without a doubt the nicest property I've stayed at thru AirBNB to date. This is a lovely lovely little home and we were so happy here. The bed was fantastically comfortable, the entire place was spotless, the directions flawless, and our host greeted us personally on arrival. Thank you Tom and Theresa!

  • This place was awesome. Our family stayed here for several days. Beautiful area beautiful cabin. We really enjoyed having all the extra space and beds for everybody. And being pretty close to the valley made for easy trips during the day.

    Andy2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • House was nice, comfortably fit the 6 of us. We ran into some issues with power going out and wifi not working, but these were just temporary. Biggest complaint is that one room in the house is shown with a queen bed in photos but in actuality has a pull-out couch, which was obviously much less comfortable for the couple who was stuck with that as their bed. Ken was responsive to our issues though, which we appreciated.

Inside Yosemite National Park! 35 minutes from Glacier Point and Yosemite Valley destinations, and close to hiking trails. Beds: master bedroom with 1 king size bed, bedroom with 1 queen size bed, bedroom with 4 bunk beds, and a study with a sofa bed that sleeps 2. Full kitchen and large deck with barbecue, so you can eat dinner and watch the sunset from up in the trees! $361 for 2 guests; $28 per night per each additional guest, plus cleaning fee. 11% county tax included in price.
Hummingbird Raven is in the park, but outside the bustle of Yosemite Valley so it is quiet and peaceful. This house is ideal for groups of family and friends who want a nice house to come back to after a long day of adventure. This main living area of the house - kitchen, dining area, living room, and master bedroom is downstairs and reached by a spiral staircase. Note: the spiral staircase may not be suitable for elderly people and small children. Upstairs is one bedroom with a queen-size bed, one bedroom with two bunk beds, and a study with a fold-out sofa bed that sleeps two. We have a beautiful large deck with a barbecue and great view of the forest. We have a DVD player and large DVD library in the living room. Hummingbird Pines House can sleep a maximum of 8 - 10 people. Yosemite West is inside the Park boundaries, so it's a perfect location to enjoy Yosemite (20 minutes to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point, and close to various trailheads). It has the advantage of being very close to the Badger Pass ski area, and being at a higher elevation than the Valley, which keeps the temperatures more comfortable in the summer months. Please note that we do not have wifi or satellite TV, because trees around the house block satellite reception from the South sky. There is no cell phone reception in Yosemite West (there is spotty cell reception in Yosemite Valley). Minimum age of renter signing contract: 25.
  • Really well located house and suited our party size perfectly (5 people and a toddler). Really great to come back after a long day hiking and get the bbq on! Good communication from Peter.

    Sarah2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the house for two nights. It is perfectly located near the valley (20min drive), but quite and only few tourists. The house is good equipped with anything you need. The terrace is very nice and the barbecue grill was a good choice for us. Thanks for the perfect weekend! Lars

    Lars2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This House is so amazing and well equipped. You can find anything you want as a villa in the national park. And this house is in the middle of valley and south entrance which is very convenient to the main view spots. 这个房子在红杉公园和谷地之间,非常的方便。厨房里面的设施应有尽有。

    Huicong2015-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Newer cabin within the Park. Easy access to the Valley! Great kitchen to cook with all utensils. Nice patio area with sunset view. Deer spotting a bonus! Would recommend.

  • Peter and Michelle's home was a wonderful place to stay in Yosemite! The Valley and Glacier Point were easily accessible from Yosemite West. The sunsets from the porch were spectacular.

    Paul2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Michelle's house is very well located half way between the best hotspots of Yosemite. The house is simple and spacious and is the best location to leave the big city life behind for a while. To be noted for the 'Internet addicted' : it is without any wifi or cell reception. My family and I were pleased to stay a few days in this quiet place.

    Karine2016-08-13T00:00:00Z

Carved plaques with antlers from Austria decorate the high walls and antlered chandeliers hang from the ceilings. Yosemite Copper Bear Lodge has cathedral-like windows for views of the forest and distant mountains. • Just came back from a 4 night's stay with our two boys. This was one of the most comfortable places we've stayed. Super clean, well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, good water pressure in the shower, comfortable beds. The birdhouse sits on a gorgeous spot next to a bubbling creek. We loved our stay, we'll be back. Thanks Steve for sharing this gem.

  • We loved our stay in this beautiful, comfortable cabin. The description was perfect! Very clean and great amenities. It was nice to come "home" to after long hikes in Yosemite Park. Kitchen was very well equipped to prepare our meals in. Also having a washer and dryer on site was a nice bonus. A very relaxing place. Thanks, Mr. Vlach!

    George & Connie2013-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a loft/studio, NOT a 1BR, but otherwise a great house rental. We thoroughly enjoyed our rental. The home is well stocked, above and beyond what is required including coffee, coffee filters, creamer, paper towels, etc. The home is very comfortable, clean and beds are comfortable. We highly recommend the home, although caution others that the home is mis-listed in my opinion as a 1BR. This is the only reason it is not a 5 star rating. There is NO privacy in the home other than the bathroom. The loft has the 'master' bed and other beds, there is no private bedroom. If parents are traveling with children and expect privacy....don't. I think the home should be changed and not listed as a 1BR. But if that doesn't deter you everything else about the home was great including the location within Yosemite. I don't think you can do better in terms of quality home and it being well stocked. One last word of caution, the home is at the top of a steep hill. If you go in winter or spring when snow may be present this may be a problem if you don't have 4WD. We had a minivan with chains (cables) as the park had chain restrictions on. We could not make it up the hill. The property manager went above and beyond to send someone to help us and a neighbor actually spotted us and showed us a back road way to get around to the property. But beware this is not something you'll get to in the snow unless you have 4WD. In normal weather it is no problem.

    David2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and cozy vacation home. There was plenty of space for the four of us to sleep and hang out and the jacuzzi, fireplace, and grill were a treat. The house is in a great location to go to mariposa grove (10 minutes) and a beautiful 30-40 minute drive to Yosemite valley. The house was clean, fully stocked as described, and an overall great place to stay. Highly recommend.

    David2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Birdhouse! Kitchen was well equipped, bed was EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE, and the fireplace and Jacuzzi were lovely after a long day of hiking. Would love to come back next time we're in the area.

The Rose Cottage is a two-bedroom family cabin nestled between the Merced River and Chilnualna Falls. With a full kitchen, large deck, living room and wood stove, it is a cozy get away in the woods where hiking, swimming and star gazing abound.
The Rose Cottage has been in my family for three generations and is a place we hold dear. My grandmother used to live in the cabin half of the year and spend her days walking, sketching and making stained glass pieces inspired by the beauty around. We continue to visit the cabin often and so it has a personal feeling - this is not a generic cabin. There is no internet at the Rose Cottage - people often come here to unplug. There is a unique VHS and DVD collection and a small but sweet record collection. There are a few DIY elements to the cabin. The downstairs bedroom has a reading nook and private door to the deck. The second bedroom is a nearly enclosed loft space up a steep staircase. Super cozy and mostly private.
The cabin is located near the intersection of Chilnualna Creek and the South Fork Merced River. It is at the outer edges of the Wawona neighborhood and offers a lot of privacy along with a backdrop of the forest. There was a wildfire in Wawona in August of 2017 which came close to the cabin. If you visit you will witness what these natural and needed fires do in the wild. In coming years the forest will flourish anew. There are various hiking trails near the cabin and Yosemite Valley is about a 30-40 minute drive. You can pick up some quick groceries or treats at the nearby (1/2 mile distance) Pine Tree Market and visit the library as well.
  • Close to waterfalls and Mariposa Grove, a good place to unwind and get close to nature. Would stay here again.

  • Garth was very helpful and accommodating. We had a very late check-in due to late flight times, and were helped with the off hours check-in. Garth was also helpful with hiking recommendations near the cabin.

  • Wonderful, cozy cabin in the woods with a fabulous view! We were worried this was too far from Yosemite Valley entrance but it was a perfect location for also exploring Glacier Point, Tioga Pass, and Wawona... don't miss the Wawona Swinging Bridge trail and the old hotel! The heating was just enough to keep us warm on those chilly October nights and beds were comfortable. Would love to stay again if we're ever lucky enough to return to Yosemite.

  • We had a great experience and had a lot of fun.

  • Garth went out of his way to make sure everything was ok. He stayed in communication with us even while we were traveling on the way to the cabin. He checked in several times during our stay to see if we needed anything, and provided first hand knowledge of the area and it's attractions to us. The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable.

    Jimmy2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our friends and we had a great time at the cabin. Garth knows everything about Yosemite and more. Cabin is really cozy and has a beautiful view of Wawona dome. Highly recommend! A couple of suggestions: make sure to get in touch with Garth a couple of days in advance of your arrival as he is really busy. Also try arriving before it gets dark; roads in Yosemite are challenging to drive on at night.

  • We had a wonderful time in this cabin. Just by the river, a terrific view - woods, the dome and the river. Great sun sets. Excellent spot, nature, really in Yosemite itself, swimming in the river just behind our cabin!

  • Really cool place. Incredibly relaxing to walk around the forest and stream. We had a perfect getaway here in the storm.

  • This Airbnb experience is not one I would like to repeat. Check in is listed as 4pm. When we arrived Garth was nowhere to be seen. There is absolutely NO cell phone coverage in Yosemite so we couldn't call Garth to find him or our cabin. We decided to head to Marisposa and look at the giant sequoias (worth the short drive there) before heading to the Wawona Hotel for a quick meal. We arrived back at the cabin at 6pm. We knocked on a few doors before a neighbour? found Garth for us. He was still cleaning our cabin :-/ He suggested we go and swim at the swim hole whilst he finished up, but having spent the day traveling from San Fran all we really wanted to do was unpack and relax. The following morning we headed off to walk Glacier Point in Yosemite Valley. This is an hours drive from the cabin and well worth the arduous climb up as the scenery is stunning. After walking for several hours we then picked up supplies from an excellent food store in Yosemite valley and drove the hour back to the cabin. You can imagine our bewilderment when we arrived back at 21.30hrs to find the lights on in our cabin and another family staying there!!?! The Perkins family were very apologetic and had been left by Garth to explain there had been a mix up with the reservations and in our absence Garth had gone into the cabin and relocated all our things to another cabin! Eventually Garth appeared on his bike, made it feel as if it was my fault for the booking mix up (we booked for three nights, but apparently we only booked this cabin for one night and two nights at an unlisted cabin) and then he left. We stumbled to our new cabin feeling extremely creeped out. When we explored the new cabin we found the last bed linens used pull off and left in a heap on top of the beds, a filthy bathroom and mouse droppings in the cutlery drawer. Garth had left a pile of folded sheets on the table. It was now gone 10pm and we were exhausted and hungry from our big walk, with no beds made up to sleep in and having to wash utensils in shampoo (there wasn't any washing up liquid) to be able to cook dinner!! The Perkins family decided not to stay in the 'double booked cabin' they were so freaked out by the whole thing and the poor condition of the cabin and linens. They got the last room in the Wawoma Hotel. I only wish I had had the energy to pack all our suitcases, two scared teenage girls into our car and find alternative accommodation too. We left the next morning. On the plus side the swim hole is cool and lovely to swim in. There are some great view and trails to walk just minutes from the cabin. Scenery...

  • We loved this location! There is an awesome waterfall hike right up the road and with all of the water right now we could hear the river from the deck, living room and bedrooms. Diane was very accommodating and the ADA access was excellent. The coffee maker broke our first morning and she was able to get it swapped for us within a day (and we had a french press to use) - very responsive.

Wawona is to us the best place in the world. It is easy going and beautiful- residents are available to take the time to talk. Most everyone in town wears several "hats"- but they never seem to confuse who they are with what they do. Neighborhood amenities include two general stores, golf course, fine dining at the turn-of-century Wawona Hotel, Yosemite History Center, Well-stocked library, and easy access to day hikes, the high country (two major trailheads) and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Redwood Trees.
  • Beautiful place. Beautiful home. Quaint little neighborhood. We went during off season and it was perfect. The house was very comfortable and accessible to the creek. The Redwood Team was accommodating and friendly. We had a power outage and maintenance came by within 10 mins and had the power up and running. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back!

    Monica2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for our Spring two family get away. Ample bedroom space and lovely beds for comfortable nights' sleep and cosy living and kitchen area for play and dinner prep conversation. The location is superb with sounds of the river running behind the house and the spa on the deck under the trees was really the icing on the cake. The village where the house is situated is quiet and beautiful and the staff at the Redwoods who handed us our keys (and some kindling!!) were very friendly and helpful. James gave us all the information we needed to arrive prepared and when we inevitably ran out of milk, the shop in the Redwoods was very convenient. Brilliant hikes to do with no driving required. Kids played on the soccer table and built forts in the study for hours inside but the majority of their time was spent outside by the river (supervised!). Such a lovely house and general experience.

  • This lodge was the perfect spot for my birthday weekend getaway with my friends. The house was cozy and there was enough room/beds to accommodate the 14 of us, which was really hard to find with other places. The back deck was spacious and great for BBQ. The hot tub was definitely a plus for us. The location was great because it's walking distance to several different hiking trails. James was also very responsive to all my questions that I had beforehand. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

By the way James the detail in all your decor is awesome! We loved it, thanks for allowing others to enjoy your place.

  • We absolutely loved the house and location! We had a group and we were all very comfortable and enjoyed using the hot tub, grill and most of all the patio to enjoy the views! James was amazing in his communication and very kind and willing to always be available. We look forward to coming back to Yosemite and staying here again.

  • We loved the house and the setting. Our group of family and friends were of variable mobility. Having the entrance, deck, kitchen, bedroom, living room and game room on the same level was wonderful. The small study was a nice secluded bedroom for a single guest, too. The drive from the house to Yosemite Valley is gorgeous. The hike up to the falls at Wawona was beautiful and had far fewer hikers than on the path for Yosemite Falls. Both are nice hikes, but, we liked the seculsion of the Wawona paths better. James was a perfect host and the people at the Redwoods (who manage the rentals there) were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.

Our cabin comfortably accommodates 4 adults. It is approx. a 45 min. drive to Yosemite Valley or Glacier Pt. & Skiing at Badger Pass. A great hike can begin right out the door or a swim in the Merced River near by. The cabin has been renovated recently and we installed a dedicated generator for the property. The power outages are frequent in the winter and can occur at any time of year. We are one of the few cabins that offer this amenity. View Yosemite info: NPS.gov/yose
Cedar Cottage Retreat is on an acre of land on the quiet South Side of Wawona. The neighboring cabins are typically owned by families that have been in Wawona for generations. I am a 4th generation Wawona resident. Our cabin comfortably sleeps 4 adults. The two bedrooms have attached bathrooms with showers. The cabin is light, spacious & comfortable. But it is not child-proof in any way and is not suitable for young children. That means 0-12 years old. (Please See House Rules) Animals are not allowed. We have a large library of books, games, videos & DVDs for your enjoyment. We expect this entertainment library to be respected and left as you found it for our next guests to enjoy.
My Great Grandfather, Frank B. Marks, first came to Wawona as a boy of 14 in 1881. He returned as a man and built the original Cedar Cottage near by, where he used to camp with his parents. Our current Cedar Cottage is a well loved multi-generational home. Our family still uses it year-round, but we are also happy to be able to share this wonderful place.
  • We had an amazing experience staying at the Cedar Cottage Retreat. Cherie and Bryan were warm and inviting. The cabin is "fully" stocked. There wasn't anything missing that we needed. The cabin is located conveniently to the National Park. We will definitely stay here again.

    Debra2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a fantastic little gem in the Yosemite park area. It's better equipped than any place I've ever stayed and well located for exploring the park. Cherie is lovely and very helpful with any questions. The cottage is clean and well kept and in a very quiet area. I would definitely recommend if you want to stay in the area

    Geoff2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cherie made us feel like family. Her home is beautiful, and has every amenity imaginable. We will definitely return for a much longer stay. Thank you for everything Cherie!

  • This is the best AirBnB we have ever stayed in. Amazing views, a fantastic host and a lovely time all round. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy Yosemite and the surrounding areas...

    James2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my family had an amazing time in Cherie's cottage. It was a beautiful cottage with all the facilities. It was really cold outside, but the heating system was efficient. The fireplace added to the charm of the place. The location was good and close to all the vista points. Cherie was a really good host and took care of all our needs. She was available for questions all the time.

    Isha2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cherie was great! She was in touch with me before our arrival, and was there to greet us as we pulled in. Everything was in tip-top shape, and better than expected in every way - fully stocked and interesting kitchen, little notes with explanations and locations of things, and reminders of how things worked. There are comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, nice views and light, with plenty of room for 5 of us. Extras included DVDs, internet, and a porch with a BBQ. And a nice welcome package that included freshly baked banana bread!

    Linda2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cherie and Bryan, Thank you so much for everything you did during our stay at Cedar Cottage. I highly recommend Cherie's home to anyone looking for a "get-away" while visiting Yosemite. You will enjoy the quiet and beauty of Yosemite while also being able to hop in a car and drive to Yosemite Valley and the giant Sequoias within 40 minutes or so. You can also go on a beautiful hike right outside her home. The cottage is "fully stocked" and you won't miss anything even if you happen to forget something along the way! Cherie and her son, Bryan, were both available for any questions or helpful advice both in the planning stages of our trip and during our stay. We had the pleasure of experiencing some snow during our stay and Cherie ensured that we had everything we needed to stay warm and prepared including wood for the fireplace!! Sincerely, Melissa, Sue, Liz and Raphael

    Melissa2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • On arriving at Cedar Cottage Cherie and her son Bryan greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us around the property. Cherie's attention to detail made our stay effortless, she really has thought of everything, including a well equipped kitchen, plenty of recreational options such as DVDs, videos and board games, and lots of information and maps about the surrounding area, we followed her directions for a really nice local walk down by the nearby river. She even left us a much appreciated bottle of wine to toast our arrival! Cedar Cottage served as a great base for our stay in Yosemite, it is a good alternative to the expensive hotels and very convenient for visiting the Valley. I definitely recommend Cedar Cottage and would stay here once again when returning to Yosemite.

  • Chad was very helpful and accommodating in terms of finding a campsite. Overall, a pleasant experience!

    Zack2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Chad was awesome to deal with! He was responsive to every question I had and went out of his way to make sure that I had everything I needed and that I'd be able to easily pick the gear up. When I ran into some issues and wound up getting to Yosemite later than I wanted, he was all too happy to adjust and make sure things still went smoothly. Next time I camp in the park, I'll definitely book with him again.

    Fabio2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We rented camping gear from Chad and it was perfect. We got everything we needed. It was our first time in Yosemite and Chad helped us even out by giving us tips for doing the best trails in Yosemite. We're grateful. We stayed three days in Yosemite and had a great time in there. We would definitely recommend renting camping gear from Chad.

    Vahid2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The camping arrangement and all communication with Chad went perfectly fine. Being able to spontaneously camp in Yosemite was a great experience for us and we enjoyed the stay a lot. The equipment did fit our needs and everything was in perfect shape. Chad was very nice and helpful giving valuable advices prior to our trip.

    Alexander2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super interesting concept that Chad was able to execute on flawlessly. Thanks, Chad!

    Katelyn2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience. Everybody who comes to California should visit Yosemite and do some hikes. Its absolutaly wonderful. The equipment provided by Chad was absolutaly premium. Furthermore he was very helpful and gave us a lot of recommendations to plan our tour and to make this an unforgettable experience. Chad sent us the equipment to our hotel in SF and it was already there when we checked in! I would absolutely recommend to book the equipment by Chad!

    Philipp2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chad has some great tips for visiting National Parks Sequoia and Yosemite, and sent the gear to the agreed place. But: Unfortunately we couldnt do the planned hike because of snow in Yosemite (in september!). The road was closed and the sleeping backs were too thin for these temperatures. Chad does now not respond anymore on my message with regards to lost gear and potential refund of one night because we had to book a hotel. Hope to hear from him soon.

    Annelies2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was an incredible opportunity to experience Yosemite like this. Bringing all the gear with us to camp, on a long haul flight from Europe, would have been a nightmare. Having it sent to us via a camp crate was super easy & Chad was fantastic with help & advice all the time. As for the walk, it was priceless, I'd say moderate difficulty, carrying all our gear, but beyond worth it! The Pohono Trail was amazing, beautiful, awesome valley rim views, stunning creaks, pretty forest paths. Thank you Chad for offering this unique service - its brilliant and not to be missed if you want have a real outdoor experience!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The studio was cozy & was equipped with everything that we needed, & was really really clean. The building management are super friendly and responsive. Our heating stopped working, and they stopped by right away with a personal heater. I would definitely come back and stay here.

  • The place was great! We will be staying here next visit to the park.

    Steve2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely my kind of place. Everything was as expected - just enough amenities for a couple of nights stay while you admire nature Yosemite National Park during the day. The heating and insulation was very good. We could not feel the chill even though it snowed all night outside. The kitchen was equipped with all that you need to prepare food to carry on trails. Clean and neat. It was not filled with pricey kitchenware - which is good - so that you can use the kitchen without constantly worrying about not breaking anything. The backyard was amazing. We could play in snow for a long time without anyone else being there... kind of our own private snow play area. We did not use the barbecue, laundry, ice machine or snack bar. IMO, they can be removed. Also, booking via airbnb was great too. Checked in and out without ever having to talk to any one. Things that can make it even better: Have emergency supplies - snow chains, umbrellas, some food. Of course charge reasonably. More maps (that guests can take on trails). I know the park office gives it for free. But for people who check-in late, this could help

    Angie2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Good directions and information about the property. It's definitely one of the more expensive places we've stayed at with Airbnb but then it is in a good location and in Yosemite during July! For just two of us the condo was great - everything we needed. Only minor criticisms are the wifi was very temperamental (but then is rural) and it would be good if the caretakers weren't doing laundry en masse during the evening when we wanted to use a washing machine ourselves! Would stay again!

    Adrian2016-07-10T00:00:00Z

  • River Rock is everything we hoped it would be and more! The house is perfectly located for Yosemite Day Trips. It was immaculately cleaned and very well-appointed. We very comfortably slept six adults. We cooked every meal in the beautiful kitchen and/or on the outdoor gas grill. Cozy leather furniture with blankets and a giant tv made for excellent post-hiking relaxation. Issac was very responsive during the reservation process. Directions and check-in were a breeze. The closest Grocery store is in the park, so I'd advise bringing your food with you and avoid paying park prices. My one complaint was the daily cap on internet use. With six guests, we ran out of internet access every day. As much as I would have liked a tech-free weekend, several people in my party needed to check in at their places of business and were unable to. We were also unable to get directions to some of the locations within the park without internet, since GPS wasn't working. The roads in the subdivision are pretty pot-holed; take it easy in and out of there. Still, these things are minor considering all the good things River Rock had to offer; would definitely go back!

  • The lodge was great and just as described and was a great base for exploring Yosemite with three bedrooms and a fourth area on the first floor that could sleep 4 more. There were 8 adults in our party and the home easily accommodated us all. It's set in area with other vacation lodges but is still very private and quiet. Remember to get your groceries beforehand as its a long round trip to the store in Yosemite valley. Would definitely recommend this property to others.

  • The house was beautiful and it looked exactly as the pictures and other reviews described it. Everyone in our group loved the decor, location, and feel of the house. It was so welcoming and wonderful. It was my daughter's birthday and she loved everything about this home. We had 10 people in our group and were all pleasantly surprised at how spacious the house was. There was more than enough room for all of us. It was a great bonding experience for our whole family and this amazing house definitely played a big part in our enjoyment. The view from the living room was breathtaking. Everything was clean and the house was stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. If there was anything we forgot to bring, this house had it! We love love loved it!!! We will be back for sure!

  • This home was absolutely beautiful. We were so impressed with how spacious, well decorated, homey, and modern-ly rustic the house was. It seems like this house is almost brand new and you can really tell the attention to detail. It was a great retreat for our work team and I would highly recommend this home for large groups! A warning that there is no cell service or wifi here, but we thought it was great for team bonding.

  • True to its word - the place more than lived up to its expectations. We cooked up a storm every night and the place accommodated for that.
